[Thread level: 3,900. Ki Suppression. Readable level: 5]
Nothing but drunks and reprobates. Not a single worthy mind in here...
Lunar sat quietly at his table in the very corner of the bar, his eyes, hidden behind a pair of shades, surveyed the smokey room around him. The place seemed like your general bar scene. Jukebox playing music in one corner, a billiards table set up with a couple of patrons playing, and numerous country folk sitting around, chatting, drinking beer and smoking. Apart from feeling completely out of place (if not for just his choice of attire compared to the general fashion of the area), Lunar felt like the place was a waste of time. Why did he ever think there would be someone of interest in this place? Only the small thought of 'you wouldn't know unless you looked' kept him from completely ignoring this place.
Well, that and the vanilla cola he had managed to get in this place. He was really getting attached to the particular drink. It was his third since he got here. He always considered alchahol beneath him, and was never really much of a coffee or tea man himself.
But enough about his drink. Right now Lunar had to figure out what to do next. Well, he could just leave and try somewhere else. Then again, there were all these potential subjects here. It would be a shame without going for at least one experiment with them. After all, if he wished to evolve ALL of humanity, that would include these fine ladies and gentlemen too right? They should feel honoured.

Gleciar was really bored and flying around the world, he had been flying for a while now and he needed a drink, he saw Ginger Town in the distance so he landed and looked for a bar. Once he found one and got in he looked around, there was nothing out of the ordinary, except for a weird felling Ki comming from a pale man with red hair, he had a strange air about him, but he felt no murderous intent or anything of the like.
He sighed and walked up to the barman. "One rum with coke, please" He said sitting in a stool in the bar. He dozzed of for a moment as he listened for the music and waited for his drink, he was thinking about walking up to the weird man, but he thought it would be a bad idea, so he simply asked for some nachos to go with his drink.

Ah, bars. For a few years, bars like these were his normal places to be, whenever he wasn't on stage, breaking yet another guitar with a sick riff while also making his voice break a few audio correction devices. In retrospect, those were a few years completely wasted, but compared to the present, John sometimes enjoyed going back to the past with his mind, at least. And so, he opened the door to the smoky bar, walking in with his usual confident walk, a lit cigarette in the corner of his mouth. At least this wasn't one of those annoying 'no smoking' bars... or if it was, nobody, owner included, gave a damn. Gotta love smaller towns like Ginger Town, people knew each other and didn't piss in each others beer, figuratively or literally.
Much like a certain gentleman in the corner, John's own clothes didn't fit in here at all. Who wore a tie like that just because? Well, he was, and he wouldn't take any crap for it. His sure stride took him over to the jukebox, taking a quick gander over the available songs. Of course, none of HIS records were here... And most of the stuff here was either country music or complete no-name crap. Gah! How could someone drink the day away to THAT?! Well, at least some songs seemed acceptable, so the android used a few coins to queue them up. Mostly just hard rock, obviously no actual metal.
After making sure his ears wouldn't start to bleed nanomachines, he took a quick gander through the room. The smoke made it surprisingly hard to see the people here, but his power-scanner at least revealed that nobody here would open a can of whoopass on him anytime soon. Going up to the bar, John ordered himself... some water. Even though he was probably immune to addiction by now, he didn't exactly want to try out if his cyborg body could relapse. With his drink, he scanned again for seats... Most tables had small groups talking in lower voices, but one table in the back only had a single person sitting there. One strange guy was sitting at the bar already, but he didn't seem the talkactive type - in addition to being some weird alien. Not that John was prejudiced, but he'd like to find someone to talk to who had an actual human face. Making his way over to it, he noticed the odd look of the fellow - probably another outsider. Hey, perhaps he could actually talk to this guy! Not that he liked talking too much with his mechanized voice, but sooner or later he had to get used to it, or he'd become some crazy shut-in. "Mind if I join you?" asking informally, John kept his artificial voice down so as not to get too many stares from elsewhere in the bar. If the guy nodded or said something of the effect of accepting, he'd take a seat at the table, otherwise, he'd probably just scamper back to the bar itself and sit down there.

Well, perhaps going into this place wasn't such a waste of time after all. First he watched as what could only be an Arcosian walked into the bar. He was surprised to see one in this area, let alone walking into a bar like this. He had read about these aliens, changlings being a sort of nickname for them. Born with the ability to change their form and power at will. It was looking at one of these beings that pushed Lunar towards lifting up humanity all those years ago. Keeping quiet, he couldn't help but feel he had been noticed, but the Arcosian seemed to keep his distance well enough.
Then, a second gentleman came in. He looked human enough, but for some strange reason Lunar couldn't sense him. He wasn't giving any sign of life energy like anyone else in the bar. A very curious individual indeed. He watched as the man ordered a drink and approached him, asking if he could join him. Thankfully the glasses hid his eyes as they blinked. Did his voice just sound, well, mechanical?
What is this man? Some sort of machine? Interesting.
"If you wish," he replied, gesturing to the empty chair, "Just taking the time to relax and enjoy a drink or two." Guess that was sort of true. He was relaxing and enjoying his drink anyway.

Before Gleciar's drink and nachos got to him he saw a man with no ki sitting down with the other weird man, he probably was an android and he wasnt sure if this was a good or bad sign, both androids he had met previously where incredibly strong and intimidating, Vi-Poi was probably the strongest being he had ever met and Bigby had quite a bit of anger issued, he wasnt sure how this one would act, but he sure as hell wasnt gonna let him destroy anything.
As soon as his food was delivered he picked them up and took them to the table where the other two where sitting. "Hey, mind if i sit here? You can have some of my nachos if you want..." He said as he set them down in the middle of the table along with his drink and he sat down. He grabbed one of the chips and dipped it in the sauce that came with it, then ate it and took a drink to help it go down. "Oh, how rude of me. Im Gleciar, nice too meet you gentlemen." He said as he offered his hand for a handshake to both of them and grinned.

"Thanks." Nodding towards the strangely clothed man, John sat down at the table, his glass of water put down on the table. The android leaned back in his chair, the arms crossed in front of his chest, as he stared up at the ceiling without really looking. The last time he entered a bar, he left it on the way to the hospital to get his stomach pumped. Not exactly a pleasant memory, but at least he was still human back then.
"I plan on doing much the same. Relax, reminisce..." he said, with his strange voice towards the stranger at the table. It was odd how the outsiders always seemed to attract each other, and how the odd ones always ended up in the same place. The red thread of fate, or just pure coincidence that one remembered better thanks to confirmation bias? Mentally, John made a note to from now on save the amount of 'normal' and 'strange' meetings in his memory. Perhaps he had simply never noticed the strange and odd when he himself wasn't one of the odd men out. He found some solace in knowing that he wasn't the only person that didn't fit in with normal people anymore, even if all this guy seemed to have about him was a strange sense for clothing. Perhaps a traveler? Fashion designer? No, probably not. But since his power level was no larger than any other adult human, he had no reason to think he was anything but that.
Then, the alien he had seen at the bar walked up to them with a drink in hand. Well, score one for the 'oddballs attract each other' list he was now keeping, for sure. John had no idea what sort of alien he was dealing with here, but as a machine, he wasn't exactly one to be racist towards anyone. "Sure, take a seat. We're just enjoying some relaxing time." replied John. He found it a bit easier to address the alien, actually - he probably had less expectations about how humans were supposed to sound than a fellow human. While the strange blue guy offered some snacks, Walker didn't feel any particular desire to grab any - or to actually drink his water. The more his nanomachines turned his flesh into metal, the less common needs he had - food and drink simply got burned up in his system. Inhaling deeply from his cigarette - at least his lungs still seemed to function - and exhaling it straight up into the swathe of cold smoke that filled the air already, he turned his head towards the alien again as he introduced himself. What a nice and considerate guy! His scanning ability didn't think him overly dangerous, but even if he was, he didn't seem to be aggressive or anything else that some racists liked to accuse the aliens with that landed on Earth. Why did some people have such a problem with accepting an age where you could travel to other inhabited planets, given enough funding?! Some things never went out of style with the unpleasant public.
Putting his cigarette out in the ash tray on the table, John shook the hand of the alien, a slight smile on his lips. "Nice meeting you. I'm Johnathan Walker. Most people just call me John, makes it easier." introducing himself to these two didn't seem like it would incite any reaction - neither looked like they'd be fans of former hotshot rockstars, thank god. He REALLY didn't want to deal with any fans of his anymore, being so... changed. He turned his head slightly to look at the fellow in the odd clothes again, wondering if he'd introduce himself as well, or if he wanted to keep more to himself. The android would understand both positions, not everyone liked talking to complete strangers.

Lunar kept a curious eye on the man as he sat down, drinking what simply appeared to be water. Strange, but then again there were people who came to bars simply to socialize, rather than poison their bodies with alcohol. He then watched as the Arcosian approached them, asking to join them, in which the machine man agreed. Lunar simply gave a nod as the changling set down his food and drink, offering the snacks for them. He then introduced himself as Glecier, while the machine man introduced himself as Johnathan Walker. Guess he should do the polite thing and introduce himself.
"Doctor Lunar Mensis," he spoke up calmly, reaching for some nachos. Not bad, though not the best quality either.
He glanced from his table over at the two gentlemen playing billiards. Well, guess it was time for a little experiment. Making sure he kept himself inconspicuous, he began to channel a small illusion to one of the men at the table. The man looked up from the pool cue he was dusting before his eyes widened upon falling on his opponent.
"Wh-What the hell is that!?" he shrieked, no doubt earning confused looks from the other patrons at the bar. Lunar tried not to chuckle. Right now he suspected the man was seeing his friend as some sort of monster, not that the friend in question knew that as he walked around the table towards him, concern on his face. "Hey buddy, you ok?" "Get away from me!" the man shrieked, swinging his pool cue and breaking it over the man's head.

Gleciar had been highly interested in both men who had just introduced themselfs, Jonathan Walker and Lunat Mensis, a cyborn and a man with a weird aura. (This is going to be interesting) his thoughts where interrupted by a man shouting, he knew why, he never lost focus of Mensis's ki, a part of it had affected the shouting man, but he wasnt gonna act so soon. He grabbed a chip and ate it as he stood up. He covered his mouth as he said "I´ll be back in a moment."
He walked up to the man that was shouting and put a hand on his shoulder. "Calm down." "OH GOD! ANOTHER MONSTER!" "Thats rude, sir, but most of all you need to calm down." "NO! DONT EAT M-" He couldnt finish shouting as Gleciar hit his naipe and knocked him out. "Sorry, but you where being annoying..." He picked him up and put him next to his friend. "Take care of him, he should be fine once he wakes up."
After this he walked back to the table and grabbed another chip, dipped it in the sauce and bit a corner of it and used the rest to point at Mensis. "What did you do to him?" He threw the rest of the chip into the air and waited until it landed on his mouth, ate it and took another drink.

A doctor, out here in Ginger Town? Interesting, but not unheard of. What was unheard of, though, was the strange energy reading that the android suddenly picked up, coming from the good doctor. It was only a short fluctuation, but the results were obvious, as heard from the billiard table. With a sigh, John fished through his pockets for his pack of smokes - a quick glance inside revealed only two remaining. Crud, he'd have to get more soon. Flicking one of them out of the pack and putting it in his mouth, he nodded towards the alien, who stood up from the table. If he wanted to get involved in a bar brawl, why not? Not like it mattered to John what some hillbillies did in their bar. If any stools were thrown his way, he'd retaliate, but otherwise, he was perfectly happy to just sit this one out.
Leaning back in his chair, the android made a tiny arc of blue lightning zap up from his right index finger, held under his cigarette, to light it. A fancy lighter, nothing more, but he still liked doing that. One of the few things he liked about being a machine, really - the convenience of things. Not having to sleep, for example, unless he wanted to sleep. Or the ability to withstand even the roughest weather unharmed. But it would've been nice to get these conveniences for a smaller cost than his voice, of all things. Why not something less important? "Y'know, Doctor, there's easier ways to start fights in a bar." Keeping his voice low, so that the other tables wouldn't hear it, John acknowledged that he noticed the energy being used, and that frankly, he didn't give a damn about it. Bar brawls were almost a normal thing in places like this, they happened all the time. John had beamed more than one person over the head with a beer bottle or chair in his wilder years.
The attention of the android didn't really follow the alien, so he was somewhat surprised when it suddenly seemed like no bar brawl would happen after all. Finally, the otherworldly being returned to the table, sitting back down and asking the good doctor about what he just did - in a way, John was curious to know that as well. Smoking his cigarette in silence, but keeping the doc in his field of view, he waited for an answer, if he'd give one. Curious minds would by now notice that the android had not touched his own drink since he sat down at the table, seemingly having forgotten all about even bringing one in the first place. Meanwhile, his HUD gave him some information on the energy he just noticed. It was, big shock, pretty far removed from the type of energy John's own body used. Well, at least the good doctor wasn't a cyborg.

It seemed that Lunar's actions had not gone unnoticed by either of his table guests. He watched as the Arcosian approached the frightened man, before casually knocking him out. That wasn't to be unexpected. Physical restraint or rendering someone unconscious was normally the best method of stopping a hysterical man. The android on the other hand didn't seem to care too much about what he was doing. He just assumed that the good doctor wanted to just simply start a bar fight. As if Lunar's motives were so simple and transparent.
When the Arcosian returned and asked to know what he had done, Lunar gave a small smile. No use denying it. Doing so would only make him suspicious. Besides, it didn't seem like either of them were really angry at him for doing it. "I just gave him a little optical illusion. Nothing more. Though I can certainly say your presence didn't help his hysteria any further." He gave a small chuckle. It was true. He had only made the friend look like a monster. Gleciar's appearance was all his own. "I dabble in a little bit of everything. Even the occult. Consider it a little experiment into the human mind. No real harm done, especially since you stopped him before he could hurt anyone else." He then took a casual sip of his drink as he waited for their responses.

Gleciar looked at Mensis's eyes, he wasnt angry, he was interested by his actions it certainly was like nothing he had seen before, in another situation this would have led into a fight, but he was too tired for something like that. "Alright, Doc, why did you do that? Testing your powers? Trying to make this boring bar more interesting or simply for chaos?" He grabbed a handfull of chips ate them one by one waiting for an answer. "Also, John, mind if i call you John?" He didnt wait for an answer and keep going. "I noticed that you are some sort of android or cyborg and that you also noticed what happened, why did you do nothing? Did you simply not care or something?" He was highly intrigued by these two gentlemen, he wanted to know what and how they where, but well it would be better to go step by step, right now the little power was the focus, he needed to expand that, then change it if he wanted answers.

John inhaled deeply from his cigarette again, nearly burning up half of it in one go, before speaking again. The alien spoke to him now as well, questioning his motives behind just sitting here, not interfering with the bar fight. He was actually pretty close to the truth with the not caring bit, but not quite on the mark. Sitting up straight now in his chair, he quickly flipped the burned off ash from his cigarette into the ash tray. "Optical illusion, I see. Quite interesting, Doctor. A month ago I'd have called you insane for dabbling in the occult, but nowadays... Well, I'm a living machine now, so I'm a bit more open to that kind of thing." With a smirk, his eyes flashed grey for a short moment while looking at the Doctor, before going back to his natural turquoise. "Illusions combined with seeing an alien, which probably doesn't happen too often here in Ginger Town... yeah, I can see why he'd be freaked out by that one, for sure. Can't say I would've reacted differently, back then." With a sigh that sounded just as artificial as his entire voice, the android looked over at Gleciar.
"Sure, John is fine. I didn't really see any reason to step in. The energy that the Doctor used wasn't openly hostile, so the man wasn't going to just explode. And really, fights break out in bars like this regularly. You're probably newer to Earth, I take it?" The short pause in his speech was too short to even wait for an answer, since his explanation wouldn't change either way. "You've got a sharp mind. I'm... well, I'm not exactly sure if I'm still a cyborg, or a full android by now. Technicalities, for the most part, but yes, I noticed thanks to the technology in my head. But I wasn't always like this. A few years ago, I could've easily been one of those two." With the small rest of his cigarette, he gave a small gesture towards the bar patrons near the billiard table who were still trying to figure out why their now passed out buddy suddenly went crazy before getting knocked out by an alien.
"Just that I would've probably started a fight without any optical illusions or aliens nearby. Fights happen all the time in bars like this, sometimes a few bones get cracked, someone gets a nasty cut, or perhaps a tooth is lost. But it just happened. It's part of... the 'human experience', or rather, the party life that some humans have as part of their lives. Optical illusions aren't that common in them... unless some bad drugs are involved. Sometimes, they were. So I somewhat doubt you'll get much out of using it on people like this, Doctor. Anyway, I had a point to all this rambling... ah, yes." Sighing again, John turned his head to the patrons around the billiard table fully.
"I envy them. I envy them... for being human. I wouldn't take any part of 'being human' from them, ever. Sure, I wouldn't just sit here if someone tried killing them, don't think I'm a heartless bastard or anything." And with that, he turned to the doctor again, trying his hand at a small grin. "Y'know, you've got me intrigued, Doc. Why don't you try that illusion thing on me? I'm morbidly curious to know what it would show me."

Lunar gave a soft chuckle at Gelciar's inquiry. "Call it a little experiment." he leaned forward, steeping his fingers as he spoke. "Humans have such a fascinating ability to adapt to their surroundings, to any situation. My little experiment was to see how humans would react to situations they cannot simply adapt to, such as turning their entire world on their head." He gave another small chuckle. Usually experiments like this produced one of two results.
Either the subject failed and perished, or the subject thrived and grew stronger. Lunar was honestly hoping for the later.
When John spoke about his envy of humanity, his smile faded slightly. Why would he envy humanity? Humanity was stunted in its evolution. Yes, they were sentient, but compared to Saiyans or Arcosians or Namekians, that was ALL humanity had going for them. Lunar wanted to take the humanity out of them, and replace it with something better.
The good doctor blinked when the android then spoke about him using his illusions on him. "Really now? A curious request, but one I'll try to grant." What would it do to a mechanical mind? Could machines hallucinate? The thought of it caused a chill of excitement to run up his spine.
He pondered for a moment before giving his hand a wave over the table before them. Before the three, the wood seemed to bloom like a flower, but at the center revealing a large red eye. It was an illusion that only the three of them could see. None of the other patrons would see the freaky table eyeball.

Gleciar wondered what other kind of experiments he had done, though he was right humans where facinating, well everything on this planet was, ever since crashing on it he had been impressed by everything on it, it wasnt monotone like Arcose or Namek, it had variety and if something changed it addapted, and that went for humans too.
"Yeah, i havent been on Earth for lo-" And was interrupted, he hated when that happened, whatever John's speech was interesting, he certainly enjoyed the humans, but he didnt wish to be like them, they could be so fragile, well he had met a few exceptions, but still, he hated being weak as he was another handicap wasnt something he would like, he somewhat understood what he meant.
Once he asked that question he was going to ask the same out of curiosity, but there was no need since Mensis did it anyway without asking showing a magnificent change on the structure of the table as it turned into a flower and as from its core an eye popped open, he simply stared at the eye for a few seconds, said eye had appeared bellow his nachos, so he grabbed them and move them out of the way. He knew it was an illusion, but he had to try it out anyway, so he stretched one finger and poked the eye.
He didnt wait for it to react or something and looked at Mensis. "This is most impresive, doc. I do wonder what exactly did you make that man see..." He looked at the eye again for amoment before adressing him again. "Alright, how about this time you do a diferent illusion for each one of us, that might be interesting." He was amused by Mensis's powers and he wanted to see how far they went.
