“But doctor, we can’t.” The nurse held the doctor’s hand, holding it for a few minutes as she gazed into his eyes. “For you see, I’ve already given my heart to another. He’s a lawyer, a-and…I can’t do this to him.” She turned to the door, slowly letting go of the doctor’s hand as he tried his best to grasp on. “Goodbye, doctor. I hope we meet in another life.”
“No. This isn’t where it ends.” The doctor ran over to the nurse, putting his hands onto her hips, staring into her eyes as she did before. “We have met in this life, and I plan to take full advantage of our time with one another. We can fuel our love into nothing this planet has seen before. We can fight off the robot invasion, and save our people…”
“Oh, but the medical rules state co-workers can’t-“
“Shhh…” The doctor put his finger onto her lips, signaling her to stop. After another pause, he went in for a kiss, as she prepared her lips for maximum impact. But before they could fully connect, a robot teleported into the room, and only moments after entering he grabbed the doctor by his neck. The nurse’s scream could be loudly heard, as the doctor’s head was ripped off, the blood spilling onto the wall in barely illegible text saying “THE END”. Only seconds after this, the image of the doctor’s murder blurred out, and in its place appeared a distorted array of colors. The clunky sound of a machine could be heard, as a poorly conditioned rectangular tape popped out of Edge’s holographic movie player.
“That’s…it? That’s where it ends?” Edge stared at the screen for a few moments, a feeling of utter disappointment filling his entire being. “B-but Doctor Buffy was just…killed off. He never even got to make the ultimate love serum he wanted so that he could save mankind.”
Edge gradually lifted himself off his couch using telekinesis, as looked around the pod for a brief second. Except for the couch in the middle of the room and the large screen in the front, there wasn’t much in the way of content for the room. Of course, there were the piles upon piles of empty candy wrappers thrown across the room, but Edge really didn’t count that in the way of decoration. He regretted not being stricter on the layout of the room when he ordered his slaves to design it, and considered destroying a city or two when he got back to his planet to, but he thought better of it. For some reason of another, the people of his planet always got so upset when he tried to commit even just the slightest of homicides. His eyes wandered across the floor, until making his way back to the screen, and thus back to the tape, as the feeling of disappointment fell upon him once more.
“Ugh, first order of business when I get back home is throwing whoever wrote this drab into the dungeon.” Edge lifted his right index finger, firing an orange energy beam of ki to destroy the tape in its entirety, as he planted himself back onto couch.
As he sat by himself in silence, he started to wonder if this was such a good idea. He was currently sitting in a pod as it blasted at super sonic speeds through the galaxy, so that he could invade what was to him a newly discovered planet in a quadrant of the galaxy that before now he had never even given a second look. The reason he had chosen this “Earth” to invade is because he had an idea for it, an idea so big, so outrageous, that it would surely change the landscape of the universe itself.
But as he got closer to the planet, Edge felt as though something was wrong. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but he had a gut feeling like something was wrong in his calculations. He hadn’t ever had problems enslaving a planet before, and there wasn’t anything practically different about Earth when compared to the other planets he had overtaken, so he didn’t know why of all times to worry he had started to worry now. He was the strongest person in whole universe, and as long as that was true, there shouldn’t be anything wrong in his plan. Unless…no, that couldn’t be true. He was the most badass radical guy in the whole universe, and that was and always would be that case. As he got shook the preposterous thought out of his head, Edge decided to check on the trip with the space ship’s artificial intelligence.
“Ship, how long do we have before landing?”
There was a moment of silence, as the whirling of a machine could be heard. A moment later, a electronic voice could be heard over the ship’s intercom. “We are approximately a few hours away from our destination, possibly a day, oh Lord of Pure Badassery and Sick Beats/Big Dog”. Edge grumbled to himself, as he stretched himself over the couch. “King Edge, would you like me to put on another one of your shows as you wait?”
“Ugh, sure, whatever. Just make sure it has a good ending this time, I don’t want to waste another ten seasons…”
And as the computer booted up the tape onto the seat, Edge’s mind trailed off, as he found himself deep in thought, in worry about the planet and how well the invasion would go. But at the back of his mind, was an even more pressing question.
“I am the strongest in the universe…aren’t I?”
