[Medium Weights On]
“Wooooooooo!” The earth passed by miles a second underneath the young human. Purple aura encasing his body, he soared through the sky like a fighter jet. He was upside down, spinning around in various circles and flips as he continued his journey. He was heading towards his next training area.. Shutsumotsu Village. Ryo had come a long way since he left home for the first time in order to train on his own. He went from a useless child who could barely summon ki around his body, to a superhuman. He’s far surpassed the the expectations that were set upon him at a young age. There was still a long road to travel along, though. His struggle wasn’t over, far from it, actually. There were still thousands of warriors across the universe ten times stronger than him, even one-hundred times stronger than him. The only good thing about that was the fact that he actually had a goal to set now. Those people WERE his goal. They made up his life, and he was grateful for that. Although it’d take him a long time, countless hours of training, and a billion more injuries, it was all worth it in the end. He’d place himself amongst the Legends.
Shutsumotsu village was a Namekian settlement to the far North, even further than the Yunzabit Highlands. Nestled between two gigantic mountains on a small island miles off the coast, it wasn’t easily necessarily a place people knew about, let alone would actually travel there. There WAS indeed something in it for Ryo, though. The Elder of the village, Sopra, was an absolute master at Ki control, and intertwining one’s spiritual body with their physical body. Ryo really didn’t know all of what that entailed, other than the fact that he didn’t want to become a meat head, so this was definitely a viable plan B. He came across information of this place after briefly sparring one of it’s warrior’s, traveling onto the mainland for supplies.
*Flashback*
Their forearms clashed, creating an epic shockwave that rocked the entire area. The Namekian warrior recoiled his arm, instead, swinging his right foot upwards in order to sweep Ryo’s chin. He was quick though, and in a flash of purple light, disappeared and reappeared behind the Namekian. He slammed his elbow into the nape of the Namek’s neck, knocking him towards the earth below. The blow was definitely not strong enough to knock him unconscious, not by far. The green man spewed purple blood from between his lips, smiling upwards the purple aura-engulfed human. “You’re rather strong.. Stronger than most of the lot I see upon this land. You may even compete with the warriors back in my home. “ Ryo raised his eyebrows. “You’re not from here? But everyone is!” The Namekian remained in his traditional battle stance, slowly rising into the air whilst shaking his cranium softly. “It does not surprise me that you know nothing of our village, human. Shutsumotsu Village is a Namekian hamlet located above the Yunzabit Highlands. We generally only send strong members, like myself, to the mainlands for supplies that we cannot attain on our island. “ Ryo was impressed. And excited! He wanted to go to this place. “Where is it at?! Can I go there? Can I get stronger there??” The human launched questions at the Namekian left and right, not even pausing to take a breath. This caused the Namek to crack a grin again, showing off sharpened fangs. “Seldom do we ever welcome outsiders.. but I suppose if you do manage to defeat me here, I can give you a general direction to go in. No promises about them accepting you in. You’re probably just wasting your time. “ Ryo smiled, clenching his fists. “That’s ok! Let’s do this!” The two warrior’s met each other's eyes, shooting mutual respect through the air like laser beams. They rocketed towards each other, clashing in a heap of various strikes.
*Flashback Ended*
Ryo’s lips morphed into an exasperated grin. His body had been littered with bruises after that battle, but he managed to emerge victorious. The Namekian was tough alright. He even had Ryo against the ropes at one point, but the human was able to overcome the challenge once again. He was able to unlock some type of hidden potential within him, greatly releasing a vast amount of power. It greatly boosted every single one of his skills; Strength, Speed, Endurance, even the power behind his ki blasts was amplified. He was able to cause earth shattered punches that ruptured the landscape around their battlefield. Although it didn’t last long, it gave him the much needed boost in power required to defeat the Namekian and acquire the information on where exactly the village was located. There was one extreme drawback that he received after the power boost had weared off; His body went through bone-crunching pain. It literally felt as if every nerve in his figure had been completely obliterated. Blood poured from nearly every hole in his soul, and he was unable to move and inch. If it wasn’t for the Namekian actually having some healing herbs and a minor skill in healing techniques, Ryo would have been as good as dead.
“Thank you green man.” Ryo thought to himself as he soared towards the north. As he got further and further north, the air became denser, the fog became more prominent, and mountains had become more and more abundant. Snow had began falling shortly after he passed the Yunzabit Highlands. Before long, he reached a massive ocean, nothing as far as the eye could see other than gigantic icebergs and an azure sea. The masses of solid ice were tempting training spots. Ryo longed for another chance to see this ‘dormant’ power he possessed within himself. It seemed, during his fight with the Namekian, it was only able to be achieved through great stress. He was against the ropes, getting his body dismantled by the Namekian’s traditional strikes. If it hadn’t been for this ‘power-up’, he’d of lost the fight. Apparently, the Guru of Shutsumotsu Village was an expert on spiritual flow. He was able to train individuals minds in order to further their physical body, uniting them as one so that they can attain not only a much more formidable body, but also a much more enlightened sense of mind.
It seemed to take forever, flying endlessly through the sky in order to reach such a fictitious village. He really didn’t know if it was there or not, or if that Namekian was just playing a big ole trick on him. But, it was worth it. Even if this village DIDN’T exist, this environment was an essential to hardy training. As he emerged over the horizon, a small, grey dot appeared on the sky’s ridge. As he drew closer and closer, two large mountains had become more and more distinguishable. This place actually existed! He allowed his purple aura to surge around his body in order to alert anyone that might have been in the valley below. He stopped in mid-air, hovering over one of the two mountain peaks. Deep down in the valley below, he could see what looked to be a small… village. It was real. It was actually real. This was the fateful light shining down upon him, granting him a new chance to train. As he lowered himself towards the Namekian settlement, two flashes of white light burst from the scene. Soon, three more appeared, all rising up towards Ryo himself. Five Namekians surrounded Ryo, battle stances ready. “Leave Earthling, now.” One of the green brutes spoke up, very firm in his statement that Ryo needed to leave. He put his hands up innocently, shaking his head. “No no! I’m not here to fight you guys! I’m here to fight the Guru! He’s supposed to tea-” Before Ryo could even finish his sentence, one of the Namekians threw his fist towards Ryo’s cheek. He swiftly evaded it, flying backwards into the air. This notion was enough for the others to attack. All five of them came at Ryo at once, throwing their best punches and kicks. Ryo readied himself, fending off three of them. As soon as he dispatched one, another would show up and take their place. Other Namekians from the village below issued from their huts in order to see what the hell was going on. The five green warriors continued their assault on Ryo, and the human gave it right back to ‘em. The Namekians below seemed absolutely amazed that Ryo held his own against five of them, even scared at the fact that he was that strong and quick.
A loud ‘gong’ type of noise emitted from the settlement below. The assaulting Namekian warriors halted their rush attacks, standing upright with a military like posture. Ryo held himself in the middle of them, looking down to the village. Standing in the middle, gazing up towards the battle, was none other than the village Guru. He was wielding a very intricately carved wooden staff, waving it in the air with a light smile upon his face. The green brute warriors, who had previously been hostile towards Ryo, lowered themselves into the village. Ryo thought it best to do the same. “Hello..? What the hell was that about? I’m just here to see the Guru…” He rubbed the back of his neck nonchalantly, giving the signature ‘Goku face’. “Dear Earthling, you’ve seeked out our small encampment in search of ‘The Guru’. I must say you’ve done well arriving to our hidden village. How so did you come across our location?” This Namekian seemed a lot more polite and understanding than the ones that had attacked him. He pointed towards the direction he came from, laughing. “One of the warriors from your village told me about you guys! He said the Guru here was really good at training people, so I asked him where this place was.. and he said he’d tell me if I fought him. So I did! I won, and he told me! I’m just here to train with the Guru.” The rather chunky, wrinkly Namekian simply chuckled, bowing his head before Ryo. “My dear boy, you’ve succeeded in your search. I am the Guru you so greatly desired to seek out. “ Ryo’s jaw dropped. First off, he really didn’t expect him to be so.. old. “Eh.. Really? You don’t seem too.. strong.. Your arms are all flabby and stuff..” One of the warriors from early viciously smacked Ryo in the back of the head. “Watch how you speak to the Guru! He is a very powerful and honorable Namekian!” Ryo jumped in the air, gripping his cranium in pain. “Ow! Sorry…He just doesn’t look that strong..” “It’s quite alright my children. It’s a very reasonable perception of one who looks like me. Allow the Human here to test my power for himself.” “But Guru..” Waving his staff idly through the air shut them right up. Ryo clenched his fist, ready to strike this ‘weak old man’. “I’ve gotta warn ya old Ge-Ge, I punch REALLY hard!” The Guru nodded, grinning softly. “Howwaaaaahhhhyaaaaa!”
Ryo corkscrewed his punch towards the Guru. He put everything he hand into, to show that he really had something. His fist seemingly hit a ‘wall’. It stopped, mid-air, about two inches from the Guru’s face. “What the hell is this?!” The Guru chortled, holding his staff firmly in his grasp. Veins burst from Ryo’s forehead. His body exploded in purple ki, firing a small wave of energy down his arm to his fist. The added energy cracked what looked to be an invisible, (Now visible) shield of glass. Everyone watched jumped from their positions, eyes bulging from their skulls. Even the Guru himself seemed dumbfounded. “No. That isn’t possible… No! No one but Gnoral has been able to shatter the Guru’s dome, NO ONE! “ Ryo retracted his hand, blood dripping from his knuckles. “Heh, how was that?!” The Guru nodded his bulbous head, planting his staff into the ground. “Yes, you have potential. There is not a doubt about that.. but you have found yourself out of luck here, Human. The village does not accept outsiders, not even myself, as humble as I may be. “ “What?! C’mon! I beat one of your people, I fought against your warriors, I even flew all the way out here just to train with you! “ The Guru shook his head solemnly. “Wh-.. What if I became one of you? You guys have to have some type of initiation, right? I’ll do it, whatever it takes!” “The ceremony takes weeks to prepare, and even then it is not certain you will be accepted. “ Ryo wanted to burst out in anger. He wanted to just throw a hissy fit. He didn’t have weeks to spare, he needed training now. “There has to be a faster way! Please!” One of the warriors placed his hands upon Ryo’s shoulder. “Send him to Ridgeback Cave. “ Ryo would have been lying if he said that the Namekian grabbing his shoulder didn’t startle him a little. But Ridgeback Cave? What was that? “Ridgeback Cave?” Guru shook his head once more, indicating that this was definitely not an option. “Now, while we may not accept this human, we absolutely WILL NOT send him on a quest that will mean certain death.” This comment almost caused Ryo to burst out laughing. Certain death? Ha! “Pfff! Certain death?! Are you kidding me? I put myself through that everytime I train! I’ve taken down giant scorpions, I’ve beaten Majins, hell… I’ve even faced the wrath of a woman before! I can do this! I’ll go to Ridgeback Cave, and come back alive! But I do have one question.. why am I going there in the first place?” The Guru seemed very reluctant on even considering Ryo for this mission. Ryo had to hit him with the traditional puppy eyes. Eventually, after a bit of goading on Ryo’s part, he cracked. “Very well, you may go. One of your clan members had embarked to the cave in order to retrieve special herbs we use in some of our remedies. He has not returned since. It has been over three weeks. “ Ryo immediately threw a ‘thumbs up’ sign in the Guru’s face, smiling ever so brightly. “Psshhh! No biggy! I’ll go there, get your friend back, AND bring back your weird plants!” “Human.. be careful… this isn’t your typical ca-” Before he could finish, Ryo launched himself into the air, flying through the two mountains. “Ridgeback Cave, here I come! Wait… Where the hell am I going?”
