Hey everyone, another curious topic I been wondering about after reading the cbox. The fact that at their current version sidekicks pretty much become useless once one starts obtaining transformations. The reason I'm posting this topic is to see whether it would be an interesting idea to make minions actually become more awesome, without necessarily influencing the game too drastically. Let's use myself as an example once I have obtained enough PL to get to 190k
Right now a 75% of your base PL sidekick costs 22,500z , a heavy sum that is even a bit higher than a house, and not really justified if you keep in mind it will always be stuck at base PL. However, what if we allow players to buy sidekicks, and give those the means to transform? Let us look onto what would happen.
If something like this would happen I would have made Hikari into an sidekick. Hikari is a human (or perhaps human/Saiyan hybrid, not sure yet, the last would make for an interesting plot twist if one learns her background). At 75% of my base PL Hikari would have a PL of... 142.5k, not that bad of a base PL. But let's look a bit further what would happen if Hikari, as a human had transformations.
Spiritual Enlightement (x16 permanent)- Enlightenment is a path that requires the most focused minds. In essence, it is when the Human focuses on something so important to themselves that they are bestowed with cleansing epiphany. Whether it is for the better of life or worse, they still reach this level of enlightenment and can not be swayed. Usually, it is achieved by monks who've trained themselves so extensively that their prowess reaches 140,000, to put it into power level terms.
Hikari would have a permanent x16, granting her around 2.2m, makes her a tough cookie doesn't it?
Of course, the way things are currently that means even Vipoi wouldn't be able to stand up to her, but an equal enemy might be strong enough to defeat that sidekick.
Personally I'd say a minion/side-kick would get their own techniques (either dependent on their PL, or by using your own tech slots), since that be more fun than them using your personal techniques.
Now the negative elements:
Price (they are about the price of a house)
Possibly overwhelming when used in large numbers. (perhaps limit the amount of sidekicks one can buy?)
Kill-able (once they are killed they are gone, meaning you'll lose all that money as a result... Unless you revive them through dragon balls.)
