Vi-Poi was surprised by Bing’s agility yet again. The nimble human dodged the downward strike his oni-club, though the swipe to his legs connected with enough force to bruise bone. Vi-Poi’s grin swept upward again. He’d be feeling that tomorrow. The stab with the mangled and charred ruin of his Blue Fox unit’s gravity arm didn’t go quite as planned, however.
Bing was bolder than Vi-Poi had predicted.
He grabbed hold of the mass of scorched antennae, using his own strength to hold the wildly-arcing stump, getting shocked with blue sizzling electricity as a result, but he managed to extend his reach and take the oni club in a firm grip. Vi-Poi raised an eyebrow curiously as the Battle Jacket was spun like a discus, hurled towards the ground. The machine’s grip had slipped as it was slingshot down. Vi-Poi engaged the jets again halting his descent, but then he noticed that Bing was racing after him, fist extended.
The punch smashed through the steel chassis of right below the cockpit. Fatal Error messages flickered in the HUD overlaying the translucent shell. The warning alarms were distorted by the tearing of circuitry and the loss of cohesive system that resulted in extensive hardware loss. His Blue Fox was on its last legs. If he pulled back now, it would be destroyed.
Vi-Poi slid the arms of the Battle Jacket around Bing, attempting to hold him in a tight bearhug, using the momentum of his lancing punch to press his body further against its crumpled and wounded metallic frame. He then dropped the gyro on his right arm until the wide barrel of the electron-ki cannon was aligned straight against Bing’s chest. He fired this ki blast at point-blank range.
He knew that igniting such a detonation so close to the damaged chassis might explode the suit, but at this point he did not care. He merely wished to see what kind of effect the experimental cannon would have on a competent ki-user such as this Snake School fighter.
