The Final Test
It Was a Sunny Day, like most on the Island, Sometimes it Rained Heavily, but today, Like most days, was Sunny. Bing was doing his Morning Warmup, he would start simple, 50 Laps around the Island, After that He would practice his Meditation, while keeping a bucket full of Water atop his head. This was how he started every morning for the Past 5 Years, and he assumed this was how he would start every morning for a very long time. He did not finish his routine like usual however, This time somewhere around his 25th lap, His Father interrupted him. Tang would normally wake up sometime after lap 46, and give Bing a groggy Salutation before returning to his own morning routine. But today was different, Today Tang Woke up much earlier than usual, and in a much Angrier mood, As Bing passed him Tang extended his leg and Knocked his son to the Ground, It was Something Bing was used to, and on most other days he might have been able to Jump over it, but so Early in the morning? this was new, Something must be wrong. Tang Scoffed at his Son "I thought you were Quicker than that, shameful display", Bing rose from the Ground, wiping the Sand from his face, "I'm sorry Father, I just Didn't expect you to try something so offensive So early in the morning" Bing said, Rubbing his Head. Tang Snapped at Him "You should be alert at all times! I thought you had gotten smarter in our years together, It seems I was mistaken". Being Berated by his Father was another one of Bings Daily Rituals, but for getting Tripped up? Once again, this was new to him. "Is something wrong Father, you seem a bit on edge" Bing asked this question tentatively, He could tell today was not a good day for his Mentor. "I'm going to be blunt with you, Today is your last day of Training. After Today you will leave the Island and you will Never Return, You will return to your Morning Routine, and then you will meet me Outside the House." Tangs Words hit His Sons ears like Daggers, Leave the Island?! He never thought he'd hear the words come from his Father.
Bing felt a Strange Mixture of Excitement and Overwhelming Sadness, Leaving the Island was something he always wanted to do, but he could tell by the way his Father spoke those words that he would be leaving alone. He had done what his father had asked, He knew Arguing would be pointless, He had never once in all his life won an Argument with his Father, he knew he wasn't going to start now. Returning to his Warmup was fairly difficult, His mind was adrift in a Sea of Memories, He thought back to his very first Training Session at the age of 13, He remembered waking up in the middle of the ocean on a Boat, with nothing but two oars and a note, the note had said this: "Find your way back to the Island using your Ki sense, if you somehow can't find your way home, then you aren't worth having as a son" These words made his Younger Self cry. It took Hours upon Hours of Rowing, His arms felt like they were going to fall into Pieces, but he of course eventually made it Back, he received no Praise, all he heard from his father when he returned freezing in the middle of the night was "Your Real Training Begins Tomorrow, get some Rest". Tang wasn't always Harsh however, His mind Drifted to a time 3 Years ago, his Father Called for him to return to the House, he told his son "Not all of our Training will be about Fighting, Come here and We'll learn how to make a Proper cup of Tea". Those times were Years ago however, Over the last Few Months Tang had intensified his Training Regiment, Every waking hour involved intense strain on the Body, One particular Week would forever be Burned into his memory, Bing had his hands binded behind his back, and was tasked with deflecting his Father's Signature Serpent Bite without use of his hands. After Days of Pain and Frustration, he decided to try deflecting the blast with his Feet, he hopped up and kicked out a wave of Ki, something he should have thought of much Earlier, as per usual he received no Praise, only the usual "Our training is done for today, get some rest". Because of his Wandering Mind, he had completely lost count of how many laps he had done, He assumed he had clocked in over 100, which would mean he would have to skip meditation.
He arrived home, but the Door was closed, and there was a Note stuck to it, It read: "You took too long to Return, now you must wait even longer than I" He knew his Father must be furious at him, the only other he had a note left for him on the door was when he was Late for Lunch 4 Years ago, he wasn't allowed to eat for a staggering four days, Waiting here would at least allow him to catch up on his Meditation.
It had been hours since Bing had read the Note, he must have fallen asleep for at least a few hours, but the sound of the Wooden Doors Creaking open startled him. It was nearly Pitch black, but Tang began Lighting Torches all around their small little house, The light flickered and Danced in the Pitch Black Night, Illuminating the night in a Beautiful way. His Father Spoke in a Dry Voice "It Is Time for your Final Test, There is no more I can teach you, You're Tardiness and Lack of Care will have to be sorted out on your own, Are you Ready?" Bing Replied In a confident Voice "Ready As I'll ever be, so what does my Final Test entail Father?" Tang began charging his student While Yelling: "There is Only one way you will be Prepared for the Dangers of the World beyond the Waters, I must Put you in Danger! It's Kill or Be Killed!" Bing Quickly jumped to the side, He knew trying to stop his Father from this Brutal Battle was futile, He lived with His Father for 18 Intense Years, He knew that his Father was serious about this. Bing Dashed at his Father, and they began Exchanging blows, They both knew Dodging was pointless, They were at equal speeds and were able to block each others offensive Easily. Bing had to find a way around his Fathers Defense somehow. It seemed Nearly Impossible to penetrate, It seemed Tang was thinking the same thing because they both jumped away at the same time and Fired their Signature Blasts at the other. The Blasts Coiled out from their hands and Collided, Causing a Beautiful Emerald Green Explosion between the two Fighters. "Just as I expected, You're keeping up well! Tang Said, he sounded Proud. "Me? Keeping up? You don't have good eyes Do you old man? It's clear That I'm in the lead here!" Bing Replied, he was Confident that he was going to win. After they exchanged their taunts they went back at it again, Dashing right over The Crater that had formed, and began an Aerial Battle. Fighting in the air allowed both of them much more freedom, which in turn made their battle Even more of a Stalemate. There was not a single hit landed by either fighter for what seemed like an eternity, Neither one of them let up for even a moment, until finally they both went for the same attack, A Killer Right Hook. They both took their respective hits right in the Face, and plummeted to the Ground, Bing smacked Face First into the Sand, He felt a pain on the Right side of his face, heavier than any he had felt before, His Father was definitely not holding back here.
They both jumped to their Feet rushed each other Once More. Their Battle went on through the Night, Sunrise was approaching and both of them were nearly exhausted. It was clear, however, that Tangs age was not doing him any favors in the Endurance Department. This battle would end poorly for Tang even if he defeated his Son. Still the Battle Raged on, Both of them were too weak to defend so each hit left it's mark, Until finally, Bing went for a Close Range Serpent Bite. Tang couldn't defend himself and he was too exhausted to move, so the Move easily Connected. The Snakelike Blast spiraling through Tangs Chest. Tang fell to the Ground, Blood Gushing from his Open Wound, He beckoned his son closer. "It Seems as though You've passed, Well done my Son, I knew from the beginning that this would be the Outcome, But I have one final Request. Take the things I've Taught you here, Teach them to the World, Make our Serpent School the Best their is" and with those words, Tang had passed away. Bing couldn't believe it, He killed his Father, and He was Proud of him for it. He knew that he had to try and honor his Fathers wish, it was the least he could do. Before he left however, He buried his Father right next to the Steps of his now Ownerless House. He then stepped inside, Took his belongings, and flew off into the Direction of the Rising Sun, hoping to find somewhere to Fulfill his Father's Wish.
((And That's It! I hope it's actually Readable and not terrible, I also hope that the scenes where he Is reminiscing aren't confusing in any way, If It's completely Unacceptable I'll Re-Write it, But If it's cool then that's cool!))
