An intense blackness surrounding her vision, her sight completely cut off for her. Her thoughts were completely in clutter, unable to rally up a single thought. Yet that blackness would be illuminated by blinding white light as a ringing sound could be heard, as a sight could be seen which made a single thought be triggered within her head. ‘Is this the end?’ Ironic how life flashes before one’s eyes before death or one’s greatest achievements, if there was any reconcile to all the sins that she had conducted within her life it would be that she simply blames it one fate. One second, no merely an instant passed before a deafening thud would be made, followed beside a wince of pain flowing from the girl’s voice. It seemed that the thud had been caused by her entire front of her body landing upon the wooden floorboards. It was certainly painful for a defenceless girl to take a sudden fall unprotected as she didn’t seem amused by the event. Her head lifted up so that her face would be gazing towards the ever so infuriating alarm clock, an arm stretched out towards it waving in the wind in a lazy attempt to press it as the female could only think to herself…
… “I hate mornings.”
As uneventful as it sounds, this was practically her standard waking up ritual minus the whole falling on the floor as that’s a bit more of a uncommon thing to happen, but that was the life of a rough sleeper. She wasn’t ever a person whom was in a good mood during this time of day and she never knew when it ever started. All she knew that it’s been happening as long as she can remember and she wishes for it to stop. Bags under her eyes, hair and pyjama completely dishevelled. She looked more akin to a depressed ghost rather than an actual person. Yet she had to bear it, it was another day of school and if she came in late once again she’d be forced into attending classes over the holidays and those days were her only time to actually wake up whenever she wanted to. She would rather not be deprived of such a privilege. With that in mind, the girl had heaved herself up and pulled herself away after taking a bundle of clothes with intent to have a brush her teeth, have a bath, etcetera. Upon exiting the room, a feminine voice could be heard calling from one of the downstairs rooms, likely the kitchen judging by the words. “Food will be done soon, make sure you’re changed and everything, you don’t want to be late –Saph.’”
A sum of around fifteen minute later the girl would have been soon out of the bathroom, dressed in her usual attire and her blue hair seeming to be completely done up. Her face still seemed on the angsty side of things; however the shower had calmed her mood down even if it was only for a small amount. Still, she let out a lengthened groan before proceeding to make her way to the end of the hallway before proceeding down the stairs with heavy thumps. ‘Learning is going to be a bummer. Didn’t we have a test today? I hope not, I reeeeeeaaaally am not in the mood to have to deal with tests today. Maybe I’ll just bunk it.’ She thought within her head along the way. Her short wall had ended up taking her to the living room; a plate that had been placed on the small table beside the couch had a couple of pancakes with syrup on it. Her mother also seemed to be sat at one end, reading what seemed to be a newspaper. What caught her eye about the food however was the fact that the top pancake had seemed to have a rather large bite taken from it. It was definite that it was her glutton of a father but she wasn’t in the mood to complain about a missing piece of her food. She simply just strolled her way towards the couch, taking a seat at the end and proceeding to eat.
“Where is dad anyway?” The girl spoke, as she consumed her food, undoubtedly towards her mother. The woman simply shifted her sight towards her daughter before allowing a warm smile to settle on her face. “You know where he is. Conducting his morning exercise as much as I wish he’d stop.” A sigh fell out of the woman’s mouth involuntarily after her words were spoken. It was obvious that her mother was worried about her husband; even though the man seemed to be a pacifist it was strange that he still chose to train his skills in fighting. Though Samphire saw no harm in it, she guessed that it wasn’t something that made that much sense to herself either. Opting not to dwell upon the topic for her mother’s sake, she spoke out. “Oh I see. It seems like he gave me a goodbye present by the looks of it.” She said, her eye staring at the untouched pancake that her father likely stole a bite of. Her mother simply gave a chuckle. “Just think of it as… a goodbye kiss for your leave to school.” The woman spoke in a friendly yet joking tone. In retaliation to her mother’s words, a thought lingered in her head, ‘Feels more like a goodbye slap on the face.’ Taking a bite of a pancake, chewing it and gulping it down quickly the girl would soon rise up to a stand with another pancake in her hand. “I’ll be taking this to go mom, I’ll see you in the afternoon…” ‘…probably.’ Her mother just stood up as well, making her way towards her daughter’s plate as she said, “Have fun Saph…” A couple of steps were taken before her mother came to a halt as a worrisome face had been displayed, “...and please don’t get into any more trouble.” Urk- that wasn’t something that she could certainly promise, simply just avoiding answering the feline-girl ran out of the room after whilst placing her kitty-hat on merely saying “Goodbye.”
‘I worry about her sometimes.’ was the only thought that her mother had within her head as she saw her daughter rush out, not intent of halting her.

‘I worry about her sometimes.’ was the only thought that her mother had within her head as she saw her daughter rush out, not intent of halting her.
Ever since she begun training observing her father’s training as a child and begun taking an interest in martial arts it wasn’t that long before she came across the concept of ki control, capable of taking flight by herself and flying herself towards Satan City when school time came. Prior to that, it was always her father taking her. To be honest, though she’s quite proud of her achievement of being able to achieve this feat on her own, it was a bit lonesome flying to a place on her own, missing the lack of independence that she once had. Well, considering that he was always around it wasn’t that bad but it did feel like she was breaking away, slowly but surely from her family. Considering it takes two hours to walk to Satan City from her home and the fact that she wasn’t a speedy individual when it came to flight it would still take around twenty minutes or longer to reach there dependant on how she conserved her energy but till she had reached her destination she would of paid no attention to her surroundings as her mind went into thought. ‘Alright. School today, might have a test- don’t care. Then I’ll go to that dojo, beat the crap out of a few students and head home Scott-free.’ Or she had thought but thing wouldn’t be that easy. First with the test, having not revised will likely lands her with getting a bad score and bad scores come with dire parental consequences. For the dojo thing, she almost got beaten by one of the members there; it wasn’t as if there weren’t people more skilled than her at her age especially with how increasingly popular martial arts became. But oh well, her pride wouldn’t allow her to avoid battles.
Not before long she would have reached her destination, coming to a halt in flight before slowly descending to the ground. Strangely enough ki flight has become a popular transportation to the point where no one’s fazed with seeing people fly around; rather it’s regarded as a normal thing. Maybe there was an age where it wasn’t but with all the individuals knowledgeable about ki it certainly isn’t rare any more. The place that she had landed at was a popular high school known as Orange Star High. It’s a school that the famous of the fame are said to come from, standing for hundreds of years or so they say. Of course the school is always rebuilt time to time to get a new look and so forth. It was a bit of a miracle that Samphire was even able to attend here, long story short basically she happened to help someone with connections at a rather young age and she and him ended up friends. Due to that she was guaranteed a spot in the school and was forced to take the offer by her mother as she certainly wanted a great education for her daughter. Having made sure that she was ready, physically and most importantly mentally she entered through the doors of the schooling establishment before making her way over to her class. ‘Please, no test.’
The lesson went off without a hitch, other than the fact that there was a test things went pretty fine. Though, Samphire was left feeling like she fell through a pit of despair. Just as she feared it was on something which she had barely any knowledge on, to make matters worse in her next class there was another test too. It was as if the world was ending. Having both lessons coming to an end, it was finally a break period and the perfect time for her to relax and recover from the ordeal. Unfortunately for her she didn’t have the chance as upon turning a corner whilst walking down the halls of the school she spotted a familiar scene.
“Hey, heh. Look at that. The little dog is too scared to bark.” “And we went through all this trouble of actually bringing a bone. Chew on it… or else.” Laughter of four individuals could be seen as they were surrounding a frightened boy. The boy was Miruku, a Zoanthrope that attended the school. He’s Samphire’s classmate for a few periods at school and most importantly is practically her best friend. Oh, he also happens to be the son of a man whom runs a company that has heavy ties to one of the leading technology industries. Of course upon sight of this scene had stirred up anger that was brewing within her as she would conduct a heavy stomp in order to gain attention as she glared towards the four making an audible growl.
“WHAT ON EARTH YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING!” She shouted people nearby gathering around to take a glance to learn what was happening. “Didn’t I tell you to leave Miru alone? Do I have to break all of your legs to get it through to your thick heads?” The group stared at each other, attempting to keep up a cool front but were well aware that she was fully capable of pulling such a stunt. The leader of the group took a step forward as he bore a cocky smile on his face. “Oh, the little dog has gotten its master to do it’s talking for him, heh. We were only just feeding your friend for you but since I don’t fight girls I’ll leave him with you.” Samphire knew that that was an obvious lie; he tried fighting her before and ended up getting kicked in the crotch. If it wasn’t for the fact that she’d get kicked out of school if she started another fight in the premises she would have attempted to do so again. The group simply just turned around and left, shoving Miruku with an elbow as they left the area, the crowd around them would soon disperse as Samphire would soon direct her attention towards the boy as her face spouted a worrisome look much resembling her mother’s.
“They’re only going to just continue it whenever you’re not around me. You shouldn’t get involved, I don’t want to see you get hurt or in trouble just because of me.” The canine-Zoanthrope had said, staring towards Samphire and avoiding full-eye contact. It was apparent that he was embarrassed at the display, whether it was due to the fact that he didn’t stand up for himself or whether it was because Samphire did it for him. Her mouth moulding into a frown as she tightened up a fist for a moment before releasing it, she took a couple of steps towards him. “You know I don’t care about getting into trouble if it is for you and there’s practically nothing that can hurt me. I’m pretty much strong as the legendary Satan himself.” She said, chest out attempting to brighten up the mood. Mr. Satan would even be a well-known hero up to this day especially since the city was named after him, even though hundreds of years had passed there would be stories about him in books that would feature overly exaggerated accomplishments such as him defeating invaders from a planet with just a simple flick of his finger. In a somewhat-depressed tone, her friend would only reply, “More like Satan-level cockiness.” Saph merely just thinned her eyes at him in slight annoyance as she said in an obviously joking manner, “Making me regret saving you now.”
After that the two were pretty much simply just chatting to them, Samphire soon reduced to a state of depression once the topic of the morning tests came up and her friend attempting to cheer her up. Though all the fun didn’t last that long as soon the lessons resumed. The whole school that was pretty much that, learning with also spending time with Miruku. He wasn’t her only friend but she was pretty much his, she wasn’t one to often leave him alone when it came to school-time as it would usually end up with him getting bullied as like before. Honestly, she was getting a bit tired with it as although Miruku said that he doesn’t let it get to him, she’s completely aware that with all the problems that was occurring at home with his mother’s death and the fact that his father is always busy being with her is literally the only good hu- person interaction that he gets. Handful of hours had passed since then and soon the final bell had rung for the school, with that it was quite clear to where Samphire was heading next. “Off to kick some kung-fu ass.”

Handful of hours had passed since then and soon the final bell had rung for the school, with that it was quite clear to where Samphire was heading next. “Off to kick some kung-fu ass.”
Where to exactly that she was planning on causing her mayhem, it was a dojo that was just sitting on the edge of the city, not the most well-known place but it wasn’t a place to be estimated either. They bore a strict non-ki teaching, whilst that held many disadvantages as there was always a limit one could not cross without it, on terms with skills without it the ones who taught her were surely masters of their trade. Samphire was still classified herself as a novice if you had to compare her to all of the fighters that existed, perhaps even a beginner to them. That was the exact reason why she chose this place to fight at rather than any other in order to actually find someone that could match her skill level in combat. Though the reason to why she hasn’t looked for a master to train her? It was certainly due to the fact that she believed that she could eventually beat the strongest of people if she merely used the training that her father always followed. In a short story, it’s pretty much her saiyan pride acting up. Without much of politeness, upon making her way to the entry-way she simply just wandered in towards the building slamming the doors open.
Few people were surprised, but not that many. If anything, this was a bit of a common thing for her to show up at this place once every fortnight or so. There seemed to be at least twenty or so students judging by those whom worn the Gis as the one whom stood in-front of them was an old man, grey beard and everything but that didn’t stop him from looking as intimidating as ever which would even give a fearless girl like Samphire the shivers. “Ah. It’s the brat again.” The man announced, unamused by her presence. He waved his hands towards his students as he said, “Carry on with what I was teaching you, I’ll deal with her.” With those words, the people there went to punching the air repetitively as the man would slowly make his way over to Samphire. She couldn’t help to gulp upon seeing his scar-tattered face up close, but still kept a firm stand as she spoke, “You know why I’m here old man. I came to challenge a student of your dojo to a fight. Hoping none of them will chicken out –this- time.” The man glared, raising a hand up and then bringing it forth to stroke his beard. “If I recall correctly, one of my students did fight you last time. Though I wouldn’t lie and say that you didn’t win, you only barely managed to do so and that was simply due to the fact that you chose to use Ki.” She couldn’t reject his words; all of it was completely truthful. “It’s not –my- fault that you don’t teach your students to use energy old man.” She responded with a sly smile.
Just then another person burst within the dojo from behind her, the old man moving his hand to rub at his temples in disappointment. To take a gander at whom it was, Samphire turned around to see a sight that would cause her to open up her mouth and reveal the evilest of toothy grins. “Oho~ You.” What she saw or exactly whom she was a person whom she saw today bullying Miruku. The leader of the little group of bullies Jegg and seeming to be wearing a gi of this dojo no less. She hadn’t seen him attend this place before, meaning that they simply just missed each other by coincidence by accident or it was simply that he was a new student her. “W-what are you doing here?” He said, seeming to be shocked at seeing Samphire and there was certainly no reason to blame him. Samphire simply just ignored him momentarily, twisting around before looking to the old man right in the eyes. “I’ll fight him. I have a personal grudge against him for today, no- a long time and I need to settle it once and for all.” The man was surprised somewhat at the words and the bully seemed even more surprised, going up towards the old man to interject. “H-Hey, fight? I haven’t even been a student that long. Though I’m strong, I can’t-… Uhm-… Yeah! I can’t fight her, because she’s a girl.” He obviously was looking for an excuse to why the battle shouldn’t occur and it seemed that the answer he gave was a particularly bad one. Was it her or the old man gave an exceptionally murderous vibe.
“A girl hm.” The old man announced in a deep tone. “Boy. You shouldn’t ever underestimate an opponent no matter whom they are no matter of gender or race. When I was much younger, I’ve seen women that are capable of killing a man in an instant. Simply spouting out reason such as that would get you killed.” The bully answered with a “But-” However that was stopped with the words, “ENOUGH!” A gulp came from both Samphire and the bully as they couldn’t help but go into silence from the shout. “You two will fight. No weapons and no ki. Winner will have to respect the wishes of the opponent no matter what they are unless death.” She didn’t like the idea of the ‘no ki’, the rule was likely made so that she couldn’t pull what she did last time. But, her pride wouldn’t allow her to decline the challenge. The boy wasn’t a match for her before; just a while in a dojo couldn’t change him that much could it. As for the bully, he seemed to be weighing his options. But a smile with clear malicious intent filled his face as he merely accepted the deal. The actions would even cause Samphire to feel worried about the outcome of the fight that was soon to happen.
The two was directed towards a field outside, bearing white chalk markings on the floor. The old man was positioned far away from the two as he was sat upon a chair as the two combatants were merely a distance of one meter away from each other. “It’s simple. Have your opponent be incapable of moving or have them surrender. If they leave this area it’s also a lost.” These were rules in spars commonly nowadays as people wanted to see more action in fights similar to how the world tournaments functioned so people begun mimicking its rules when it came to any fight. The bully was seemed to ready himself into a boxing-akin stance and as for Samphire she was simply in something more brawler esque. She wasn’t at a point where she could determine his skill by what stance he was in and whether it was accurate but in her mind it seemed about right. With both of them ready, the old man called for the fight to start and so it did.
Being the fighter whom was rather rash, she was the first to rush into combat with an agile sprint cocking her right hand back and when within range she attempted to lunge it towards the boy’s face and give him something that she had always been wanting to do for a long time. The bully seemed to be caught off-guard by the girl’s speed, after all she has gotten better since the last little brawl that they had so there was obviously going to be a difference, but still he barely managed to stop it with his left arm. As he did, he’d utilize his other fist to attempt to perform a counter to her chin. “Oh, you can actually fight now, huh.” Samphire would say as she tilted her body towards the left avoiding the blow, as she would attempt a counter of her own right towards the boy’s stomach. “Well GOOD for you.” With her words the blow landed, causing the boy’s upper body to curl inwards somewhat as he winced in pain. But it didn’t seem as if the bully would give up just there as his plan was going just as expected. The hand that was once a fist aimed for her chin opened up and would instantly move to grab a hold of something. “Nya-” Fear, her body felt weak at that moment as it was apparently clear that he took a hold of one of her cat-like ears. Just like how her saiyan tail would be her weakness it would seem that her saiyan blood with have the same effect for her two extra sets of ears. Though the bully didn’t know that at first, he figured it would have simply just been painful but this harboured better results than he expected. “Heh. Look at what the cat has dragged in.”
With no sign of holding back like you’d expect a guy whom said that he can’t fight a girl, he’d send a fist right towards her stomach, stomach again and then one towards her face. It was painful to say the least; his fists felt like she was being hit by a huge rock, it was quite certain that it was worked on with the time that he was at the dojo. “Haha! And all this time you had a stupid weakness like this? Boy, the guys will have a field day when they hear about this. Maybe even the little doggie has the same weakness hm~” The boy gloated, the old man seeming to be unamused by the fight yet having no intentions of stopping it. “Leave Miruku out of this!” Samphire shouted out weakly, clearly not seeming like she was going to give up anytime soon as she attempted to throw blows to the Bully but with each attempt, he’d simply squeeze at her ears in order to send a pain that would cause the hands to halt. “Oh, I guess it’s a good time to think about my prize. Hm, I know. I’ll make you my girlfriend and you’ll have to do everything that I say. Mm, maybe I’ll even make you beat up that little doggie.” Girlfriend? Beating up Miruku? It was quite clear that she was in a tight spot and she was angered to the point where she even hated herself for being unable to do a thing. With the bully extending his other hand to grip on her other ear It was certain that she was feeling entirely useless, this was bad, at this point it seemed as if she was clearly going to lose.
But then something happened, the first one whom was able to notice it was the old man as he could feel something like a switch turning on from the girl. “Interesting.” He mumbled to himself as he watched the scene play out. This feeling of a switch wasn’t something new to her, but it was something that she was completely unaware of even now. Unknown to herself and the bully her hidden potential would churn as she tightened her hand into a fist and drove it directly to the boy’s… crotch. As much as he squeezed on her ears it didn’t cause her to falter one bit, shouting out, “Don’t underestimate me!” Impact landed, the boy likely feeling a severe pain following through his body. He knew how It was when he was kicked last time but this was as if she threw a van no- worse at him. With that, his grip on her ears was relinquished as he soon came falling down to the ground unconscious and likely to wake up with severe pain. Samphire would just simply be panting, though it wasn’t a long fight and she could probably last way longer, the final punch seemed to have exhausted her somewhat. “That’s… unfair. How is he meant to listen to my demands if he’s unconscious?” Despite that she couldn’t help but be relieved. The old man came towards the scene, making his way to the boy and carrying him up on his back. “It’s your win much that I hate seeing fighters use dirty tactics, but it would seem that my student was at fault first. I’ll teach him the error of his ways.” His words seemed alright with her and she didn’t care too much about the bet, though it wouldn’t stop her from bringing it up the next time that she saw him in school seeing as the bully wasn’t in any condition to listen at this moment. “U-uhm, yeah. I’m just going to go now; I’ll be back some other time. Bring a better fighter out, heh.” She cockily said, before turning around and quickly taking flight into the air. Reason for her quick departure was most likely due to the state that she was in. She had to go home and clean herself up before her mother was able to see her; else she would end up getting scold about fighting and yadda yadda.
“Typical Day.” She murmured to herself as she continued on her flight home.
