Hey everyone I think we need to have a set of formal governing rules for ships and space travel. I think the system as it stands is too vague, and allowing people who don't own a ship, and in some cases aren't even in the faction, use a ship kind of defeats the purpose of having to buy things like spacepods and additional storage space. I propose a set of hard rules on it, including: A) Only the 'Inventory Holder' of the spacecraft may fly the spacecraft. If someone wants to go to Planet B from Planet A, they have to have the Inventory Holder agree to make the journey with them. B) Conversely, people can't "summon" a ship to pick them up. The ship is on the planet its on, until its moved by the Inventory Holder. C) If the Ship has a gravity chamber on it, but its owner is on another planet, you can't magically gravity train. These changes will do a few things. First, it'll make people buy spacepods. Big ships will still have the advantage in that they can haul lots of people at one time. It'll bring an element of strategy involved too in world dynamics, in bringing your people to another world. Are you going to go over piecemeal, or in force? Is your faction going to be spread too thin, and how will you gather them if you need to focus them all at one point? I think keeping it where people can loosely use someone else's ship to travel to whatever world is playing fast and loose with the Item system in general, and kind of lowers realism. Did Frieza ever let Vegeta pilot his mothership?

I agree, Vipoi. You made some pretty solid points and I feel as if the ship rules should be a bit more defined. All of that sounds good to me, personally.

That should all be common sense bit listed I guess...like today, I used Wyntre's gravity chamber cause she said I could whenever but I don't actually know if she's offworld or not so I was sceptical but if she is and it's denied, that's totally fine. Hard to keep up with the whereabouts of others

I think you're fine, Jett. AFAIK, Wyntre is technically on Earth cause of the DE. This way we can also see people with SpacePods and those upgraded engines, etc.

Quick question: if traveling (which takes a day) are we considered in space the moment of announcing travel? Cause in the future, itd be nice to say "hey im on my way to planet X" and have the ability to make a post on the PREVIOUS planet, the one traveling FROM, since I wont be able to post for a day otherwise. Whats the ruling on this?

Hey Tenshi Generally I think everyone should kind of 'announce' in a post that they are traveling somewhere else. As soon as you start traveling, you are in Interplanetary Space. There is now a subforum for travel that you can post and RP in, if you'd like to keep it going.

Alrighty. Just thought it kinda bland, if youre traveling and you LITERALLY couldnt do anything for 24 hours. Thanks!
