We need a thread or board where people can simply practice role play writing before they apply their writing to the boards I believe. I'm sure we've all gotten into some strange writing situations that we're not sure how to respond to. And I think it may be to writing experience lacking on both ends of the spectrum.

I could get behind this idea too. I've had many experiences where I came to be lost in thought, concerning how to do this. Granted, physically performing what's going on could help show what to do next, whether being trapped in a corner, in either or both senses of the word, as well as just figuring out placement as well. Learning and applying this knowledge is important for us to develop as a group of writers.

I think it'd be a better idea to have some sort of "Give me advice on my RP" or "Judge my RP" sections.

((bit late to the game but)) So far I'm a little confused, as it seems we may have 3 separate suggestions here.
From the sounds of it what you guys are saying(though I may indeed be mistaken) :
Houri - an 'OOC RP section' where you can just rp anything you want for practice/fun? Pieter - a place to...uh, post 'draft' responses(?) to threads you're in to work out what you're doing to develop that way Azurai - an advice/critique forum where you can put up pieces and everyone can weigh in on them
---- I could indeed make a specific section if this is what people want. I would also note that for the most part this could also currently fit under the general discussion board.
Definitely like the ideas, especially the idea of a place for people to seek critique and tips which could improve their creative process/writing ability, which in turn will give them better gains in their threads (since it's a factor of both quantity AND quality, as well as external multipliers[like saga, or weights], which give you your final 'score'). We could probably even role them all into one, the only flaw I see is that you don't gain pl/zeni if you're doing OOC posting XD

Actually, it is something I do in real life, to get an idea of how exactly to develop counter responses, concerning mostly fighting terms. In other words, just physically acting out what's happening.

I didn't read the other comments, I just wanted to say though, that after wodr died, I had what I thought to be a fairly good plan. Run two sites, one for practicing and that really didn't count (had no PL, a set of techniques, no going up or down in rank, everything is simply roleplay) and running the second, canonical site. Just my input.

That was a thought, but then the man power to manage both forums would be annoying. It would be better if it were kept in a separate section of the forum.

I'd greatly appreciate and probably desperately need something like this. I haven't done any forum rps in a few years years, and I'm already a little embarrassed with my profile and intro post. Plus, I have trouble thinking of replies often when I'm chat rping with my boyfriend. So, yes, any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.
President Bao, why not just fix that flaw then, and do it for OoC threads that are specifically about improving your rping?
