…“That does sound like him. He is not the greatest of people to be around when he gets into one of those funks. He is something that needs to be avoided to be honest. Which is what I am doing…”
… “But if you had stayed home you would not of grown into the person you are today Milac. Just for you should know that if you dwell on the past… You will not be able to grow as a person. Trust me I know firsthand.”
Milac heard familiar words softly in his ears as he found himself diving into a dream. Unlike the majority of Milac’s dreams, this one seemed more vivid and real than normal, wind was howling, snow was blowing, and as his eyes opened he found himself kneeling down in the snow over the grave of the crash site and the pilot Bana. Nearby staring into his eyes was a stranger... yet he soon recognized the face as being one of the last people that he had made contact with before he left earth... Mimikku...
Milac instantly knew that he was dreaming, he dreamt of this place often. The cold blowing snow of the north was were his nightmare began. The vividness of this dream felt very real to Milac, though soon he found his perspective changing as if he were watching the conversation between himself and Mimikku. It had been some time since he had spoken to her, his subconscious showing him a memory of the not to distant past. Milac felt like a ghost as he watched the two converse, unable to interact with the image of himself and Mimikku, a simple observer.
“I don’t know if I am ready to grow up,” Milac’s image admitted to the Kagami as he began rising to his feet. From afar Milac watched himself, reflecting back onto the meaning of what he had said to Mimikku back then. Furthermore he found his thoughts concentrating on the mention of the one who had been in the cave, the one who had a similar dual nature to Mimiku. It was around that time that Milac had begun his downward spiral, constantly plagued by horrific nightmares.
“I… I thought I was, but nothing is going the way I thought it should…” Milac’s image told Mimikku in a somber tone. In hindsight, Milac thought of how he thought the nightmares were a symptom of the trauma he had been through, but to this day they hadn’t stopped even though he had returned to his home planet many moons ago. As he watched the image of himself and Mimikku playing out the memory he wondered what the stranger had thought about him at this point, dumping all of his problems on her.
The cold had begun to blow a lot harder at this point, icy wind and snow made the robes of Milac’s image blow towards the direction of Mimikku as the weather pelted against his back and towards the Kagami. Not seeming to notice, the image of Milac in the memory seemed to be quite alright with the cold.
Basically Milac is dreaming about this memory. Flashbacky thread. His image is the actual thing being "replayed", while Milac himself is watching as if he is on the sidelines.
