Meet the Warrior's Respite, Rhytid's new home!
''...Athora, how sure are you about the Arcosian's recovery? He took...Quite the blow.''
''Oh don't worry, he'll be completely fine, maybe a bit groggy! I made sure to tuck him into your most comfy bedding!'' Athora brushed the question off with an innocent smile, giving Rhytid a nonchalant, dismissive wave of his hand. The response was...A weird one- and made Rhytid's eyes squint together in suspicion; Athora put the Arcosian in his bed? He...Wasn't so sure how comfortable that thought made him.
...Then again, he could've easily been killed back there, it was the right thing to do.
''Besides, Rhytid, Arcosians are known for their extremely durable bodies, unrivaled in the entire Galaxy.'' The serious tone of Rhytid's foster father spoke up as the three walked, baiting another reaction out of Rhytid, yet this one more...Genuinely curious. Rhytid let out a puffy breath, before a small grin formed on his face. ''Really now?'' This was, after all, the first time he heard of this feat they possessed. ''I might want to test this 'durability' myself, I'm sure he'd be interested in blowing off some steam as well, after...'' Images of the 'invasion' they both witnessed only moments ago flashed back to him at a rapid pace, suddenly stopping as the image of Gaivahros' corpse appeared.
Rhytid quickly shook his head, as if he was trying to shake the memory out of his very brain. 'No, no...' He told himself, this is why he wanted to speak to this Arcosian, perhaps even fight him- all just to...To forget what happened. While he had accepted the death of his friend, the thought still hurt.
Damn did it hurt...
''Oh- OH! We're here, finally!'' Athora suddenly paused in his steps, excitedly hopping on his feet. As if Rhytid's new home was some type of gigantic fortress...It wasn't THAT big, right? ''Well then, the honor is yours, Rhytid.'' Bulim gave a small smirk toward towards the towering Namekian, gesturing at the doorway leading into Rhytid's personal quarters. ''Do you want us to be present?'' The Elder quickly asked afterwards, you could never be too sure, right?
''No, no, that's alright. I'll speak to him privately for now, I'll let you know if I need anything.'' Rhytid nodded toward his two most loyal comrades, before dismissing them with a nod and a smile. ''Aw, crapbaskets, I totally wanted to talk to the guy!'' Athora whined disappointedly, but before his whining could reach Overdrive status, he was escorted away by Bulim, who was much less disappointed in all of this. Maybe the spry Mystic would get his wish later on? Maybe.
The door to Rhytid's bedroom would open with a small creak, and the Namekian stepped in with little hesitation. A concerned glance scanned over his room, kept very tidy and clean, and locked onto his bed. Hopefully the Arcosian was alright, he could only hope so, if what Bulim said was true. ''...Hello?'' The Namekian let out, quite awkwardly might I add. He took a few paces over toward the bed, and sat down on a small chair next to it. ''I'm not sure if you're even awake, but...-'' He paused for a moment. ''How are you feeling?'' Rhytid asked awkwardly, but also out of genuine concern.
Maybe he'd be met with an actual anwser, maybe with pure silence. Perhaps it'd be better if Rhytid just waited for him to wake up on his own...
And so he did. Simply...Waiting.

Ais laid in bed in the home of Rhytid, leader of the Warrior Caste. His dreams were haunted by the images if the Saiyan invasion. In his dream, he fought wave after wave of the monkeys until they eventually overwhelmed him. This happened over and over and over, until the Changeling had nearly been broken by hopelessness. When at last it was over, Ais found himself floating in the endless sea of his subconscious. Then, he smelled something. Grass, the Namek breeze, clean linens... then he tasted iron in his mouth. Finally, he heard voices. They were muffled, but they were there. At the sound of Rhytid addressing him directly, Ais opened his eyes, but shut them again quickly with a groan. The sunlight was blinding. After the Changeling got a second to have his eyes adjust, he turned his head to look at Rhytid. The man's visage was blurry and Ais didn't yet have the awareness to sense his energy, so he wasn't sure who it was at first. "Cello...?" He whispered, half-asleep. All he could see was the green skin and the antennae, so it was understandable how Ais might think that. As his vision cleared, however, the Arcosian noticed who it was. "Oh... it's you." The Changeling lord groaned and sat up, wincing with pain as he did so. "Ow..." It felt like he was hit by a truck. A planet-sized truck. Made of katchin... barreling towards him at the speed of light. He rubbed his eyes and looked towards Rhytid. There were no thanks. No words of gratitude. Just a question. "What happened? How long have I been out?"
WOO! LET'S DO IT! Rhytid

At first, Rhytid simply ignored the pained, frustrated groans of the Changeling. No need to throw himself all over the stranger and immediately bombard him with questions, he must've been pretty banged up after taking a blow like that...From a Super Saiyan 2, no less. Atleast the groan signalled that he'd be alright after all, despite how annoyed he sounded.
After a bit more silence, Rhytid finally noticed the Arcosian's eyes open slowly, barely even conscious. ''...Uhh,'' Rhytid muttered at the Arcosian's half-asleep voice. Cello? Who was...?
He pondered it for a moment, but ultimately shrugged it off. Despite not liking the thought, outsiders always thought all Namekians look the same...So that was probably the case here. Rhytid let out a small sigh, before giving a brief shake of his head.
Finally, the Changeling seemed to be waking up ever so slowly, finally realizing Rhytid was not who he thought he was. ''You must be quite confused.'' Rhytid assumed with a somewhat bitter, shallow tone. It was quite apparent that he couldn't quite shake his newfound hatred for the SSE off of his mind, especially now. An eyebrow raised up at the pained murmurs, a hint of concern resting on his face. ''Try not to move too much, your body still needs to adjust.''
The Arcosian seemed to be quite disconnected, still, unable to even thank Rhytid- all that rested on his mind were questions. Understandably so- Rhytid would've more than likely reacted the same way. They obviously had more important matters on their minds, the small-talk could be saved for later.
''Right,'' Rhytid let out with a pause, slowly breathing in through his nose. ''Couldn't have been more than an hour or two...You got hit head on by a blast from one of the SSE's Super Saiyans.'' Rhytid stated, nothing but resentment caking his tone.
He couldn't help but let out a cynical snort though, crossing his arms sternly. ''Either you're durable beyond belief...Or they took mercy on you, that attack could've killed anyone present.'' Mercy...Right. He doubted it, but the possibility was there. The SSE didn't have mercy for Gaivahros, why would they for him?
''Be glad they allowed you to live, though...-'' His tone grew silent, filled with an empty hatred. His eyes glanced downward at the blood-stained scarf of Gaivahros that was wrapped around his neck. One of his hands took hold of the fabric, and gripped it tightly.
''...Others weren't as lucky.'' Rhytid's muscles quivered bitterly, teeth gritting for just a moment before he scoffed loudly. ''Damn them all to hell!''

"Confused. Yes, that's one word for it." Ais fell back into the bed with a groan, listening to Rhytid as he explained what had happened. The explanation helped piece together the disparate bits of his memory. He remembered what happened now. "Oh yes..." The Changeling lord scowled. "I remember now. "That golden-haired monkey got me with a cheapshot." At the mention of the Saiyans showing mercy on him, Ais scoffed. "Saiyans, merciful. Right." He knew about Saiyans and their mercy. They had none.
If they did leave him alive on purpose, it was probably to keep him from coming back stronger than ever. The Arcosian knew little about those sorts of things, but he heard that Hell was a wonderful place to get strong. If the monkey that struck him intended for him to live, it was probably for that reason. Not for "mercy." That concept was foreign to a Saiyan brain. What little of a brain they had. As Rhytid's gaze moved downwards to the scarf around his neck, Ais followed it. He came to a realization at that point. "Oh, I see. You were his friend."
Ais didn't know Gaivahros well. Really at all. He had seen him in a fleeting moment before the battle began, and then Ais saw him die. Based on how Rhytid was acting, Ais knew that he understood the nature of Saiyans now. It was a shame that it took him losing someone important to come to that conclusion... the same way he did. "The Saiyans... do they make you angry? Do you hate them?" Ais groaned and sat up in the bed and looked directly at the leader of the Warrior Caste. "Then we must do something about it."
The Arcosian narrowed his eyes and swung his legs over the bed, sitting on the edge. "The monkeys have done as they pleased for far too long. People like you and me, we know what it's like to suffer at their hands." Ais groaned and struggled to stand, eventually making it to his feet. "With enough power, we can show them that their actions have consequences. We can return what they have given one hundred fold." Ais smirked and looked over at Rhytid. "Well? How does that sound?"
The lizard and the slug shall take their edgy vengeance!

As cynical and negative as the Arcosian was, none of what he said was exaggerated- did the Saiyans really show any sort of mercy? Most likely not. As he thought before, why would they show it to him, but not Gaivahros? Was it all some disgusting joke, to keep the Changeling clinging to life, his pride shattered after suffering a defeat like that?
''For a species that pride themselves on honor, they show little of it.'' Rhytid spoke in his own cynical way after Ais, more or less agreeing with his words. ''And they call themselves Warriors...Pathetic.'' The Namekian spoke with a disgusted snarl, before letting out a thick, annoyed sigh.
Ais mentioned the obvious, although Rhytid didn't think much of it. Glancing back at the red scarf, he simply nodded. ''...I still can't really believe that he's actually...Gone.'' He spoke emptily, letting the fabric slide down his hands before he re-focused his attention on the Arcosian. He let out a thick groan, finally raising himself from Rhytid's bed. His words sparked a feeling of suspiciousness within the stoic Warrior, his eyes lowering as he readied a cautious reply.
''Ofcourse they anger me, they've wronged many people, but-'' Before Rhytid could finish his sentence, though, the Changeling swung himself from the bed and rose himself to his feet. A quick recovery, just as Bulim and Athora assumed. But, again, the words he spoke...Rhytid couldn't help but feel suspicious of him.
Even with his anger, was it really justified for him to go on some sort of revenge-plot against the Saiyan Empire? To murder their people in name of his fallen comrade? To even think of such a thing...Gaivahros fought for peace, and Rhytid's concerns lied with Namek, and Namek alone. He simply couldn't.
He couldn't help but feel a cynical smirk cross his face. ''This is where we differ. I'm not out for petty vengeance, nor could I ever bring myself to murder those brutes, as disgusting as they are.'' Rhytid paused, his tone stoic, gaze unwavering. This Namekian was a tough cookie to crack, and even tougher to manipulate. But, that didn't mean he was entirely against it.
''However-'' Rhytid's expression was thick with resentment. ''We can still help eachother. I only seek the strength required to keep this place safe. I couldn't give a damn about what happens to the rest of the Galaxy, much less the Saiyans.'' The Warrior spoke with little empathy or concern, he simply didn't feel it. The death of Gaivahros had made him jaded, made him lose that empathy he shared for others.
Finally, Rhytid stood up to his full height, towering over the suppressed Changeling. ''I don't advocate violence, but they deserve what's coming to them. Whatever you do to them, I won't stop you.'' An uncaring, surprisingly malicious smirk managed to sneak up Rhytid's face. Oh how he had fallen, those idealistic dreams of a peaceful Galaxy were long-gone now, Rhytid had seen what the true nature of their universe was. Violent and unfair.
His arms crossed, already itching for a way to vent his frustrations in the back of his mind. Hopefully Ais felt the same... ''I've got the perfect place for us to train, just say the word and I'll take us there.''
Keeping Bulim and Athora out of the thread for now, they miiiight come back later, though

At Rhytid's mention that Saiyans showed little honor, Ais smirked. "Exactly. You understand." He bowed slightly to the Warrior Caste leader as he lamented the death of his friend. "You have my condolences, for what they are worth." He pursed his lips and looked out through the window briefly before groaning and rolling his shoulder. The Changeling realized after that... he felt fine. The biology of his people truly was impressive. There was a reason they had spent so long atop the food chain... why they could still reclaim that position. Then came a word that left Ais slightly triggered, "petty." Vengeance was petty? He clenched his fist. Sure, vengeance could be petty depending on the reason, but Ais knew without a doubt that his vengeance was far from petty. He looked at Rhytid, a glimmer of hatred in his eyes... but something else, too. Pain. He listened as Rhytid told him that he only wanted strength to protect the galaxy, and that he couldn't care less what happened to the Saiyans. Before today, Ais might have thought that too. But now... now, he had been humiliated at the hands of those monkeys for the final time. Next time, he'd be the one doing the humiliating... and oh, would it be sweet. "Help each other?" He had an idea of what the Namekian meant, but wanted confirmation first. As Rhytid stood to his full height, Ais looked up at him, looking him right in the eye. Another smirk crossed his lips when the Warrior Caste leader spoke of not interfering with his plans, and that if he wished, he could say the word and Rhytid would take them to a place where they could train. "You're certain? What I have planned for them isn't for those with a weak stomach. I'm going to take everything from them. Just like they did to me. Then, once they taste the same despair I have had to endure, I will show them one small act of mercy and end their miserable lives. All of them." He put on an innocent smile and shrugged. "If that doesn't give you second thoughts, then let's get to training. I will tell you one thing though; I am indebted to you... and I am a man that pays his debts. Take from that what you wish." His innocent smile slowly morphed into one that was more sincere. "You know, I always thought Namekians were insular. Xenophobic. Father said that our kind don't have the best of histories, so not to expect any kind treatment if I found myself on Namek. Thing is, I have received nothing but kind treatment since I first got here. It has... put things into perspective for me. The reason i'm telling you this is so you can be sure I harbor no ill will towards your people. So you can trust me."
