[The New Hoffersons in Town] Cerbris' Thread PL - 3,300 Tags: Culu Hofferson
The atmosphere of space was quiet, thought what could one expect? It wasn't like you were going to bump into anyone. Arcosians weren't as war driven as they were before and Saiyans, as restless as they were, were surprisingly not as conquer-y as one might expect. Maybe there was hidden peace in the universe, that was, if you didn't count the war between Demons and Saiyans on Vegeta, as well as the war on Namek. When those two things were resolved, could peace peak it's way to society? Cerbris felt only heavy at that thought. Maybe these things were impossible? Xylo's forces were on the verge of anger due to the Saiyans, putting so much pressure on Namek because of the situation with politics and the Sealed Ball, whatever the hell was. He'd only heard the name going around and couldn't get a description out of anyway. It was too bad... Maybe the newly adulted scientist could figure out? No, that's dumb, they'd never allow a Saiyan near that thing, most likely. The Half Saiyan was too damn curious, catching himself in the topic for a solid 3 minutes before coming to. Cerbris looked at his sister with raised eyebrows. "Got a guess on time?" A question he could probably answer himself with a small amount of time in thought. The Half Saiyan scratch his nose and laid back in the strange seat. What was this material? Whatever it was, it was irritating to the skin. Speaking of irritating, so was this entire pod. It was fit for 2 people, but what kind of claim is that? This pod was so small that the control console was almost press into his skin. Did they just stick an extra seat into single pod?! Cerbris made a frustrated sigh. This trip could only be cured by sleep... or solitaire. Solitaire is the strangest cure to any case of boredom. Cerbris turned to his sister and opened his mouth to speak. "You got any games or anything we can play? I need something to mess with..." The Demon stared out into space, the galactic dust flying by in dazzling colors. It would be only a few more minutes... Earth was approaching and was almost in clear sight out of the side of the window. Just a soft turn and a couple minutes of smooth sailing.

Space was a quiet and calm environment. Unlike planets, the reach was endless, allowing anyone who traveled in its domain to see the endless expanse of stars and the occasional sight of a fleeting planet. For one whom had never been to space, the sight was amazing, unlike what anyone has ever seen. However the longer they were in space, the more bored she became. Culu, originally enamored by the sight of the twinkling stars and darkness, would grow bored only an hour after her departure from Vegeta. While she was thankful that she was able to escape Vegeta with Cerbris before anything crazy happened, she merely wished that the trip to Earth would be more... action packed. To her frustration, all she was able to do was wait around until they would be able to arrive at their destination. She would spend time primarily sleeping in order to pass the time, but when she found herself unable to sleep any longer she would simply complain. The young hybrid had trouble grasping the situation that was at hand still. In almost a year everything she knew and loved had been torn away from her. From the many deaths of her family members including her own mother to the recent attack by demons which forced her evacuation, Culu still felt as if everything was a bad dream. It felt as if she would simply wake up and she would be able to find herself back within her old life in the tribe where she would continue to live in blissful ignorance. But unfortunately this wasn't a dream but it was reality. She had to find the strength to be able to accept that her old life was over and this was part of her new life, even if accepting changes was difficult. Scoffing as her brother, asked if she knew what time with her, she shook her head. "No, but I want to be in Earth already. It's so boring just sitting here all day in a tiny space." Within the pod she hardly had any freedom; standing up was completely out of the question as she was barely able to even stretch her legs out. "When are we here?" She complained loudly as she jumped up and down on her seat as high as she could without hitting her head on the top of the pod by accident. For a moment, she had almost preferred to stay on Vegeta and accept whatever outcome that would happen to them if they stayed. Almost. "I don't have games that we can play in here. I need more room where I can run and jump." Staring out the window, she sighed as she saw another planet out of the corner of her eye. Unaware of what planet she had seen, Culu simply ignored it, thinking that they would soon pass by and spend more hours shooting through space in the pod. A groan escaped her lips as she began to wonder when they would arrive, ignorant that they would be arriving at their destination in a couple of minutes.

It was no surprise to any extent that Culu would want out of this pod. She was used to the open spaces. She was like an 8 year old who enjoyed the playground more than everyone else because she was that one kid who climbed on the 20 foot slide and jumped up off. You think he could make up something like that? He nodded and smiled. "Yeah, I hate this as much as you, trust me." spoke the brother, scratching the back of his neck. At least this trip was almost over...
Culu started to complained at his question, proving further more his point that she didn't deserve to be locked in a pod. Cerbris felt bad for her, if he were to be honest. The half demon stared back to the front now, the planet taking up the entire view through the tinted red glass. The ride was almost over, thankfully, meaning he could finally get some air, and ultimately, leg room. The Saiyan turned to the computer console and opened the controls. It was time to work.
As he started to type, a female voice, computerized as usual, came over the speakers and alerted the two of the descent. It would only be one more minute. "You have arrived on the planet: Earth! Enjoy your stay Culu and Cerbris!" The names were terribly rendered into the program, as usual, but he was used to that by now. Cerbris typed rapidly into the console without falter, entering commands that would make the descent as calming as possible.
When the Earth had officially arrived, the pod was streaming through the air, causing red heat to touch the bottom of the pod. When it collided with the soils, The occupant's were not even phased until the door opened by itself. The view was dust and dim light, but upon clearing, it was blue sky through vibrant trees. The siblings had arrived and within the midst of the most beautiful seasons.

The young hybrid girl had pouted as she would now draw her knees close to her chest before burying her face in her hands. It was already a miracle how Culu had tolerated being in the pod for this long considering how much she currently yearned for a change of scenery and to stand on solid ground. At that moment, she had felt the extreme urge of ripping open the space pod just to get more space, of course, this would lead to her death if she chose to follow this route. “Brother,” she said in a muffled voice. “Are we there yet? I’m so bored and I just want to get out argghh.” However, it would be only a matter of moments before she heard something that caught her attention. Earth? Were they finally there? Culu looked around in excitement as the sweet words had reached her ears. Upon looking out of the window she had seen the planet she had earlier dismissed completely obscuring her vision. Tears were threatening to well up in her eyes, realizing that their destination was closer than she had originally thought. Finally, she would be able to escape the claustrophobic pod and be able to breathe anything more than the stuffy air. Soon all she was able to see was a mixture of green and blue as Earth quickly approached. With a grin plastered on her face, she screamed in joy as the pod began to break Earth’s atmosphere. While Cerbris was trying to make the descent as calm as possible, she still found herself enjoying the ride down, thinking of it as the thrill of her life. Their collision was still rough despite his efforts as the pod would send a flurry of dirt, making a miniature dust storm. Once the dirt had cleared, Culu found herself staring at beauty. Before the door of the pod had even completely opened, she had already scrambled outside. For the first time in what seemed like forever, Culu began to stretch her muscles, although she stumbled as they had atrophied slightly on her trip to Earth. Regaining her balance she stretched her arms out, in what seemed to be an attempt to embrace the sky, before running around the vicinity of the area where they both had landed. “We’re finally here! Freedom at last! Culu and Cerbris are now on Earth!” She hollered at the top of lungs, with no regard for who may hear her words. At that moment, she didn't care about anything other than the fact they had finally arrived.

Cerbris was laid back and breathing slowly when they had landed. He’d feared the thing might fall apart like he'd heard on stories, but it seemed it was fine. The damage internally was minimal, the external damage was probably different, but it would most likely be fine. They have been built to hit soils and be structurally sound. The Half Saiyan took a deep breath as the doors opened slowly, eyes going wide as his sister crawled out while it was midway.
“No wai- Dammit” Growled the boy, standing up and crawling out of the pod at just the right time to hear his sister yell with joy. Some birds flew away at the sound, not a surprise since she’d kept an inside voice for a whole 24 hours. Honestly, the Saiyan was a bit surprised that there was nothing else around to hear the scream except birds… well, they did just crash a pod, it was doubted that anything else would stay.
The first thing Cerbris noticed was the gravity. There was a solid difference between Vegeta and Earth. The speed of the two hybrids would definitely improve on that aspect. Cerbris continued to examine the area, his eyes darting as he looked for any signs of life between nature and civilization. Seemed one of those wasn't for miles… then it was time to form a plan!
Cerbris looked at his sister. “Hey, Tiny, mind using your blaster to fly up and checking to see where the closest city is?” The Half Demon was regretting his choices of not purchasing a scouter visor like his cousin had once recommended, but it was just too damn uncomfortable for the pointed ears. Maybe they made one just for Demons? Maybe they had a pair that were just glasses with the visor tech in them? He figured he'd just make that in his free time. With that idea in mind, the Saiyan turned to the pod and started to loot the thing for spare parts in order to make such a device… all he needed now was a workshop...

After running around, showing no sign of running out of energy anytime soon, Culu had taken a brief break to catch her breath again. At this moment she took the opportunity to notice a few separate details she hadn't known about Earth before. The sky and atmosphere, unlike Vegeta's was a vibrant blue color, earning an awestruck look from the young hybrid. In addition to this, from the soil that their pod had landed into the sporadic growth of plants in the plains they have landed in even to the tree that she had spotted a small distance from where they have landed, this world was alive, unlike Vegeta who held an appearance akin to a wasteland. Culu found herself reminded of her home back in the demon realm, where her tribe had lived in the wild, although the plants here seemed to have a green tone in color compared to the perpetual shade of red which seemed to tinge everything. The change she had noticed almost immediately was the gravity. Unlike the dense gravity back in Vegeta or the demon realm, Earth's gravity seemed much lighter, making her feel as if she was floating around rather than walking. Jumping around, she began to take the lighter gravity to her advantage. "Look at me! I'm floating!" She howled back to her brother. "It's so light here I can pretty much fly around!" Culu would only stop when her brother had told her about his request for her. Glaring at Cerbris for using the undesirable nickname he had made for her, she would agree to his request and began to call forth her skull blaster, her eyes briefly glowing a black color before the blaster had materialized right next to here. "Come 'ere Sharptooth." The hybrid ordered her skull as she would hastily climb up on top of his head. Immediately, the two had floated up high in the air, allowing Culu to look around her vicinity Squinting, she immediately found what appeared to be a city or town several miles from where they have landed. "There's buildings there, I think a city. Looks pretty close but may take us a bit to get there if we are going to walk there." She called out down to Cerbris. After confirming that was the only city that was currently nearby, she quickly ordered a wordless command for a descent, although she had jumped down from Sharptooth when he was about a yard from the ground. "Can we go now? Can we go now! If we walk there quickly we might be able to reach the town before the sun sets." While unaware of the exact time, Culu was able to make a guess that it was still morning from the path of the sun. "Let's go! I'll race you." While she had already positioned herself in a running stance, she had not yet started running in case there was anything he would need to inform her.

Once again, it was no surprise that the small demon would go crazy, being out of the shell. She jumped around, bouncing off of trees, running circles around the crater, bouncing high up into the air. Culu’s hairs almost collided with the beautiful leaves of the trees, the luminescent yellow, red, orange and brown leaves that filled the sky with their grace. The reactions of the two demons were quite different. It was obvious that Culu was still as hyper as he’d always been and Cerbris was quite the Artisan. He’d probably take pictures if he had a nice camera, but the child hopping about probably wouldn’t like sitting in place for a picture.
Upon Cerbris’ request, Culu gave him a look for the nickname, but did as he asked. When she returned to the ground, she jumped off the skull a distance away from the Earth, giving the halfling a small heart attack when she landed, but as usual, she recovered fine. She had told him there was a city miles away and told him that if they ran, they might be there before dark. “Culu, it’s still only nine in the morning” He tried to tell her, but she was already in a racing position, telling him to race her.
He knew that if he raced her, he would lose, as she was much faster than he was on foot. He was too heavy to ride his skull and wouldn’t be able to even catch up to any degree if she rode hers, but he accepted. “Just be safe and stick to the path, okay?” He smiled and readied his running stance. Another idea popped into his mind… A hoverboard… That could help him fly and allow him to keep up with his sister, all without using any of his own energy! Then he could run his sister out with races and get her into a nap. Parenting would be so much easier then, but she was teenager now and Cerbris doubted she’d do that.
Well then, it was time. The Half Demon got down and put his fingers on the ground, one foot far back, another bent. He was ready to sprint. Maybe if he pushed himself, he could beat the little Saiyan. “Ready? Three, two, one… GO!” His first step was filled with energy. He kicked the grass behind him and a rush of wind through his body. It was time to break his limit to beat the little heathen!
“See you at the finish line, kiddo!”

The young hybrid merely scoffed as her brother had tried to reason with what she said. "It might be nine in the morning, but if we go slowly I'm sure we will never reach there in time." Culu was now focused, her body poised for running as she looked at Cerbris for his permission to start heading over to the city. Of course, she was not allowed to immediately run over as she had hoped to do so. She would have to hear one final word from him about safety before she was released. In response, the demon merely rolled her eyes. "I know I know. I'm not going to run into danger." Culu fidgeted slightly, having been in the same position for a minute and was beginning to feel slightly stiff from lack of movement. "I do hope you'll be able to keep up at least brother." Giving him one final smirk as he would count down their race. As the word "go" left his mouth, she was already off running. As she shot past her brother as he began to run, she was only barely able to catch his words before his voice faded away. Culu would have responded to her brother's words in a normal situation however she was too focused on the race at hand. She allowed her mind to slip into hunt mode as the race took her back to her childhood where she used to race the other children all the time. For a moment she had closed her eyes and convinced herself she was back in the demon realm. For a short period of time, all she was aware of was the cool autumn air chilling her skin, the wind rushing behind her body as she ran full speed and the dull scent of the dirt she had kicked up while trying to run to the city. Upon opening her eyes, Culu had looked behind her to see how far she was from Cerbris, giving a short tease and loud laugh before turning back around. After a few more steps she was finally able to see the city in the distance. Turning her head, she looked straight in front at the city which stood a considerable distance between the siblings. She understood now that this would be the next chapter of their life. It would be impossible to turn back now, and she had embraced this fact with open arms. [Exiting Thread. Taking Zeni]
