I'm firstly making this as a suggestion thread itself. I would like to begin enforcing a policy that will give each and every suggestion thread the attention they deserve, rather than so many of them falling by the wayside as they do currently. The suggested new process I have is like so - When submitting a suggestion for discussion; > You come up with your awesome idea or feedback > You submit a thread to the suggestions section (other members cannot respond yet) > You also submit a response to the 'Threads to Discuss' topic, providing a link and an estimated priority > When it reaches the top of the queue, it gets featured! (moved into the featured section which you should see as a sub board in the suggestions area currently ) > featured threads are given focus and discussed by the community > After discussions are concluded, a poll will be created and the community will vote(if applicable) > Results will then be finalised, and implementation will begin > And then we're done! ---- What do you think guys, any good, or would you prefer something different? If yes, then I'll edit out the questioning parts and pin this as a reference for how to use the suggestions section, if not we can keep the whole wild-west set up we currently use, or come up with another different option.

I like it.
I would also think it might be useful to require people to contribute feedback to X amount of suggested topics before their topic is unlocked for comment. This would create a self licking ice cream cone system that would get people to think of others ideas before they can have there own handled. If you don't like the idea of a thread requirement, you could give increased priority to posters who actually contribute to the suggestions of others.
Another more extreme thing you could do is stop a member with regular permissions from creating threads in the suggestions board, and require that they make X (I'd say like 5) number of replies before adding them in to a hidden group with those permissions- basic principle being that if you want to be in congress you have to participate in congress as well. This doesn't have to be a permanent status either, perhaps when the suggestions pile up you wipe the user group with the create thread permissions and require everyone to contribute again in order to make more suggestions. This would give you ultimate flow control over suggestion management, and while others might complain about it- I think they would actually start to see process improving as more people offer feedback in each thread. In this case you might find it useful to find one of them minimum word count dohickeys to set to the desired minimum of feedback so that people aren't just posting sweet nothings.

I feel like this is all reasonable, seeing as this forum is incredibly community based in the case of what updates are made and such. No one wants to read a suggestions that isn't completely thought out and isn't something the writer isn't even 100% in enforcing as it shows in their work.
I do like the idea of the featured thread stuff, that makes things simpler to find what is hot right now and what people are talking about right now. I admit when I first joined I saw all these suggestions but I didn't know if we were still talking about them or whether if I posted it would just get lost in the void so this all seems good to me.

I can dig this notion. It'll relieve a lot off the mind, so we can handle one thing at a time.

I agree with this, to a degree. However, my biggest qualm with this whole system is the amount of time it takes for anything to get reasonably implemented, but I've discussed this point in detail.
