'Do community service to pass the time, Chai said.'
'...It'll be eeeeaaasy, Chai said.'
Guardia sighed telepathically from his sheath, his thoughts audible to none but himself. Yipping and barking filled his nonexistant ears. The source? About a dozen dogs from the local shelter that Chai had decided to volunteer to take out for a walk. There was Blinky, a small tannish-white Pomeranian puppy whose attention seemed to drift from one thing to another in the blink of an eye. Inky, a larger husky who commonly stuck his nose in just about everything. Scoob, a small chihuahua who seemed to somehow be the alpha dog of them all. There also was Astro the golden lab, Jabba the Pug, Frodo the Basenji, Waffles the boxer, Piper, Elon, Kirk, Berk, Cory, and several more hounds and puppies that Chai somehow enjoyed the presence of.
Guardia couldn't stand the constant yapping, especially after he had been rudely awakened at seven in the morning for this of all things by his zoan partner. Maybe he got along with animals because he was kind of an animal?? Guardia wasn't entirely sure how Chai put up with the constant barking and whining. How these petty animals were the descendants of the revered canine predators of the wild was beyond Guardia.
The goatman was dressed in a yellow hoodie, coupled with brown jeans and a black scarf around his neck. Red sneakers and a backpack filled with his usual survival supplies, and now pet gear, was propped upon his back as well. Ignoring Guardia's disgruntled air, the zoanthrope hummed a chipper tune. He was tempted to take one of the pups home, but as a KAOS member, was never in the same place for too long. Perhaps someone else would give them a better forever home someday, though.
Eventually, the zoan came to a stop in the central park of West City, letting out a tired sigh. The many leashes were tied to several posts on a nearby bike rack while Chai had stopped at a neaby Inn and Out store for a quick snack.
"Yes, just one salad please, to go." The goat spoke to the vendor while Gurdia slumed out of his sheath, eye twitching still... Of all the things to wake him up and drag him out for, when he could be lying in hid bed, playing the new Zoan Crossing game in peace... Chai folded his arms, tapping his foot while the shoptenders prepared his meal, only for his ear to twitch when louder barking rang from outside. 'Uh, Chai...?' Guardia finally spoke, raising his head to look out the window. '...I think you have a problem.'
Turning around, the zoanthrope quickly gasped, heart stopping. It seemed he hadn't tied the leashes hard enough- now each and ever one of the kennel's canines had run loose, taking off into the city! "Oh, no no no nonononono--!" Chai quickly ran outside, leaving the shopkeeper in the dust. "Uh, sir? What about your--" The door just waved about in Chai's wake, bell chiming franticly as the dog walker took off into the park. "...food."
Coming to a stop in front of another shop by the park, Chai quickly glanced about with newfound frantic fear. If the shelter staff found out about this, they would be SO angry with him! Sucking in a breath, the goat tried to compose himself-- but by now, several of the dogs had scattered about the park and city... Guardia could only let out a quick chuckle to himself, figuring the mutts would do something like this eventually. Chai sent the sword a quick glare before his eyes darted about again.
Just how was he going to do this alone?

Sprinting down the path, the girl didn’t halt until she saw the customers seated by a tree. She slid to a stop, ensuring the box didn’t tilt in her grasp. Holding it out with a flourish, the girl allowed it to fall to the ground in one, firm motion. Sliding open the top allowed the smell of freshly cooked food to waft out. The maid pulled two platters of fried orange chicken and noodles out, setting them both in front of the couple. “Enjoy! Here’s your courtesy fortune cookies and chopsticks!” The girl set out both as well, before turning away from the box. She’d need to wait for them to finish to take the dishes back, leaving the maid with at least twenty minutes to burn. The old man had sent her out, since today was a pick-up or delivery only day. She’d been sitting around until this rare order came in, requesting the maid specifically. Apparently the park had a rule against cars on the public sidewalks, so the old man had sent her instead so the couple wouldn’t have to walk to the nearby parking lot. Pausing at a bench, the girl glanced up in time to watch a tall man in a hoodie leave a number of dogs tied to a bike rack. When he walked inside, the dogs noticed a group of birds nearby. One of the larger dogs yanked against the leash. The others followed suit, before the leashes came undone. All the dogs took off, scattering the birds and chasing them in different directions. Her interest piqued, the girl watched in amusement as the man sprinted out of the store. He had a strange appearance, which the girl quickly realized was due to his origin. The man was actually a Zoanthrope. But there was an aura about him...rather, behind him, that radiated with a strength she couldn’t deny. This guy could be an interesting partner to chat with. Maybe he knew of the identity of more of the Maids and their locations. Thrusting one hand out, she caught the leash of a fleeing dog. Dragging it behind her, the girl paused in front of the taller Zoan. Grinning at the one-eyed Goatman, the girl pointed towards his back. “I see you have a powerful companion, which leads me to think you have more power than you let on! Here’s one of your dogs; the rest headed further into the park. If I help you, you’ll need to tell me more about yourself! I’m Chaya Black, the maid who works at China Dragon, a tiny cafe in the city.” Holding the leash out towards the goat, the girl waited for his response.

Chai was about to take off when he caught eye of a dog rearing over a nearby fence, but a voice chiming from nearby quickly diverted his attention. Guardia's brow raised at the sight of the young woman... Just what was she wearing? Who wore something that frilly and dressy in a public park, the naked demon sword thought. '...Hi.' Guardia was the first to chime, peering out of his sheath and waving one of his crossguards like a hand. 'Question for you, you weirdo.' Guardia blinked, furrowing his metal brow with a quick snap. '...What is the purpose of your clothing choice? It's too... dressy and frilly and strange for anyone, really.' Guardia questioned and complained, wrapping his handles around his hilt. "Guardia, hush, will you?" Chai quickly doused the sword's rude flame. 'Eugh...'
Chai also found the maid gear to be an odd casual choice, but he wouldn't question it for now. Smiling and picking up the leash, Chai would crouch down to the dog- this one was Blinky the Pomeranian. The dog approached the goat, giving him a quick sniff test before letting off a happy bark, leaping into his arms. "Eheheh... T-thanks, uh, Chaya, was it? I'm Chai. Chai Schala- KAOS member in the Blue Banner Army." The goat introduced himself after listening to the woman's words. Tell a little about himself, and he would get help finding his lost canines? Sounded like a deal. Guardia sighed again, slipping back into the darkness of his sheath with a grumpy groan.
"S-so, uh... I think there's eleven of them left, excluding Blinky here." Chai ran his own furred hand across the pup in his arms, which responded with a smile and a wag of it's tail. "I was taking him and the rest of the shelter dogs at the West Kennel for a walk since I've began to volunteer there, but..." Chai clicked his tongue, wearily glancing to the park. Not one dog to be seen in plain sight, either. "This happened."

Chaya’s blue gaze darted to the sword, before she leaned forward and spoke to the Goat Zoan. “It’s cool you can use telepathy and telekinesis, but trying to make a sword talk because you’re too shy to talk to a girl is rude, ha.”
She’d finish off the first statement with a wink before she rose to her full height. Though she was shorter than the man, she still had a presence much taller than her actual height. She listened to his words, before nodding as he introduced himself. A member of the police, huh. He might have some knowledge as a result of his job. But, same as before, that’s something to save for later.
He then explained that there were eleven dogs left, excluding the one she’d brought to him. The maid nodded, before pulling out a small pager she had in her pocket. Pressing some buttons furiously, the girl nodded once and turned back towards him. “So, tell me something else about yourself! I just asked some of my companions to circle the park and ensure none of the dogs get out. They’ll close in on my position, catching any dogs they find. So, unless they come running back towards us, those dogs are as good as found. We have around...five or six minutes before the rest of the girls show up. Might have to fight a few, since they’re still sour about my change of priorities.”
The maid sighed and glanced back towards the sword. It also had a strange aura, which made her think maybe he hadn’t been playing around from the beginning. She recalled her master’s words, that not all things were what they seemed. She sighed again and spoke louder this time. “I’m part of a group of sorts. There’s a special title out there, reserved for the most powerful and passionate of a select sect...that’s the Maid Ultima. There’s only been two in spoken history. Both could destroy entire armies without batting an eye, disarm the most powerful of entities, and still cut the most elegant figure known to man. As a maid, my task is to pursue that level of mastery and reach for those heights. The only way to create an armament capable of standing in that level of rivalry and competition is by wearing a single outfit and imbuing it with as much passion and strength as possible. That’s why, even on a delivery of food to an unknown park, I still wear this maid outfit. On that note...have you heard of any Maids trying to take over the world or any part of the galaxy?” Her entire delivery was perfect; her tone never shifted, as she stared at the Zoan with a hundred percent seriousness. To anyone without involvement in the Maid Wars, she was just a raving lunatic living within her own world. Hopefully, if the goat was bothered by this sudden shift in tone, he’d play it off and ask something else, since she was getting all the dogs gathered for him. Or, if nothing else, he'd just ignore her entire speech and continue talking about himself and his job in the Blue Banner Army.
OOC: Have fun picking this apart telepathically between Chai and Guardia; I know you will, lol

'...What.' Guardia blinked, slipping out of his sheath again. Did... Did this moron think Chai was puppeteering him or something?! 'Alright, listen here you dolt.' The blade fully emerged from his sheath, letting his rainbow ki glisten in the sun. The sentient sword's eye was narrowed with fierce hostility and determination, crossguards folded like little arms. 'I am Guardia- one of the most feared demons of the Demon Realm in my time! Got that?!' He'd move one of his handles to poke Chaya on the chest, anger still the most prevalent in his tone. Sighing, he figured it best to explain himself so this priggish girl would listen. 'I... was confined to this blade in my attempt to escape my boring world-- don't push it.' Hope took hold of his eye, glimmering with a few stars in his pupil. 'But now I can just feel my true form within reach, ready to burst out at any moment!'
'Yeah! It'll be aaaannnnyyy day now!' Guardia attempted to convince himself, ending with a sigh of defeat. Drooping over in a slump, Guardia shook his hilt slowly. '...Sweet Beelzebub below, I miss those days.' He sniffled for a moment, reminiscing on when he was one of the most feared, powerful demons from his age back in their home universe. 'Flying around with my wings on the winds with an actual sense of touch and movement, tearing down everyone with my claws and feasting in victory with my clansmen and---' He huffed, rulling his handle down his eye like a hand. '...Meh. Forget it.' Chaiu gave his partner a reassuring pat on the back. "Don't worry, G. I won't rest with our training until you're back to normal." Guardia only huffed, wiping a few tears out of his eye. 'You better...'
After Chai was done reassuring his inanimate pally, Chaya spoke once more. Her friends-- 'Hopefully not more of these dumbass maids', Guardia thought to himself-- were apparently rounding up the rest of the scattered dogs and pups. And apparently they would have to maybe fight a few of them? "Wait, w-what?!" Chai stammered, recoiling back on the bench he was now sitting upon, fur spiking and fluffing up in alarm. Shaking his head, Chai brushed some of the fur on his ear back down while speaking back to the maid. "I'm, uh, no fighter, Chaya. I'll say that much." He forced a smile. "But, uh, about me-- right." Chai clicked his tongue, lying back against the bench and folding his arms. "Well, I actually grew up here in West City for awhile when I was a kid. Never expected to grow up to be a ki user, either. My parents were all about my education and all that." The goat folded his arms, sighing. His family died long ago in the tragic catalyst of his world- the Battle of the West... Hopefully, they were just in a better place now.
Chai was about to continue on, but Chaya chimed in with her own story. The goat smiled, engaged at first, but things got weird very quickly. His smile slowly shifted to a concerned frown, along with Guardia slowly beginning to back away. Apparently she was of some maid cult thing that wanted to become the strongest in the universe or some shit?! '...Wanna bet on that?' Guardia remarked callously when the woman spoke of the apparent unrivaled power of a maid, of all possible things. It was absurd, and almost insulting! The fact that a mere servant, a lesser, could rival the terrifying power of their world's mighty, terrifying ruler that had caused them so much pain was degrading! His glare only harshened, eye beginning to twitch when she mentioned something about maids taking over the entire world-- no the GALAXY! Chai's crooked, forced smile faltered a little. "I... you see, e-erm..."
By now, Guardia had enough of Chaya's crap. '...Well, bye!' The blade floated off to the side. "GUARDIA!" Chai yelled back to his partner, a tinge of fear and betrayal in his tone. 'Nope. Not today, Chai. Too tired for this shit.'
"Please d-don't leave me alone here w--" 'Fuck this shit I'm out.'
And with that, Guardia took off into the skies, leaving the zoan alone with the slightly crazy maid. "Eheheh..." Chai laughed nervously, twiddling his thumbs. Somehow, she seemed serious about this also... Blinky merely whined, licking the goat's face- the little dog was clearly able to sense Chai's uncomfortable air. "But!! To answer your question! No! I have not heard of such thing!" Chai chimed with falsified enthusiasm, not sure what else to say. "Sounds... uh... cool, though!" He smiled again, though it shifted to shock when Blinky began to bark, hopping out of Chai's grip. Luckily the zoan was able to grab his leash in time, but the dog had tried to bound over a nearby hedge, tail wagging furiously. Maybe he could smell the other dogs approaching? Chai bit his lip, recalling Chaya's warning of an oncoming battle...

The girl listened in silence as the demon sword spoke of his proud heritage and that he was trapped inside of the sword form in order to escape the boring nature of his former life. The maid listened in rapt silence as the goat and blade spoke to one another. Then Chai spoke of himself, his past and a slight disbelief about his own strength and powers. Apparently he’d been raised a scholar, but circumstance forced him to take on the guise of a fighter. The girl had it much easier; she’d been a delinquent and just jumped the fence to mastering martial techniques to become a true Maid. Though...she could appreciate the demon and Chai’s story; of one’s search for strength and realization of the true potential of one’s utmost abilities. Though, after her story, the sword took off while commenting rudely on her speech. The girl watched in yet more silence as there was a short spat between the sword and the goat. It flew away, leaving Chaya alone with Chai. There was a short silence, which was interrupted by the dog’s whine. She listened to Chai’s response to her story, and laughed softly. “It’s fine; I know it sounds like absolute garbage and insanity. But there are things out there with no reasonable explanation. There’s alien planets, galaxies full of people capable of transforming into huge monsters with unimaginable strength, Super Saiyans that have ascended past their original Super Saiyan, demons walk among us, and even gods have taken up residence within their devoted followers.” She knelt in the grass, petting the small dog gently on the ears. Her gaze was wistful, as the young maid muttered under her breath. “ In such a crazy reality...is maids existing outside the norm?” Her gaze shot up, as four girls strode into view. All were wearing various outfits, but their appearance made their identities clear. All four were delinquents. The shortest, with red hair, strode forward holding 4 dogs by their leashes. The rest of the dogs were in the grasps of the other girls. The shortest girl stopped in front of Chaya, holding out the leashes. When the maid took them, the girl slapped the maid across the face. Chaya’s smile didn’t shift as the red mark began appearing. The girl teared up and muttered. “That’s the last favor you get from us; if you would’ve come sooner, that wouldn’t have happened.” “Like I said, Amelia...I was stopped by a fake superhero. He kicked the ever-living hell out of me and left me bloody in that alley. It’s a miracle the Wild Cats didn’t kill me when they had the chance.” The maid smiled at Amelia, who was struggling to hold back her tears. The other girls passed the two, handing the dogs off to Chai if he took them. Finally, the short redhead composed herself and whispered. “If we see you again, we’ll fight you, Chaya. You’re no longer the Fighting Fury. You’re just another outcast, without a group. Don’t ask me or any of the other girls for help ever again… got it?” Chaya simply nodded, as the girls all turned and left the two standing there with the dogs. Chaya turned back towards the Goat Zoan, walking forward. Her smile never shifted, as she held the four leashes towards him. “Here’s your leashes, partner. Need anything else from me?” There was a slight tremble in the girl's grip, as her blue gaze met his single eye. Her smile never wavered, even as she waited for his response after that sudden encounter.
