Heavy Weights On
A spacepod had created a massively size crater. The pod had opened and Yurei had floated to the edge. The perfect sight he had once had was beginning to fade. There was a reason for Wise’s decision in freeing Yurei from Space Knutts Prison, and that was to steal his sight. Yurei had dropped to his knees as his vision went dark and all he heard was an echo in his head from Wise.
”I have granted you the freedom that others had taken from granted. Your sight will soon be sealed away. While you may roam in the free world and not behind bars, your light will soon be exchanged to darkness…”
The voice had faded and Yurei placing both his hands on the grass field.
Home..what does one think of when they have been in and out of prison? Where is there home when they haven't been there for a while or when those that they knew had passed away. Yurei found himself in the poor district of Brenchia and heading straight to where the chaos had started, where his life had changed forever. His home that was now abandoned for years.
Yurei had met face to face with the home he had grown up in. Both his hands met the front pockets of his prison uniform and a lit cigarette resting on his bottom lip. Yurei released a heavy sigh with his right eye closed. He took his walk around the abandoned moss covered home and looked to the dead plants that he once grew. The plants covered in bug bite marks, flies everywhere, and smelling like the dead. He looked from afar and had a vision of his past as a ten year old boy. Watching his young self maintaining the garden he once saw as his prized possession. A smile had formed on his lip as a tear dropped from his right cheek.
Back then, all he cared about was his garden, his father’s war stories, and the annual garden fair that was held every year in his home town. He walked over to the dead pumpkin plant that once stood 10ft, was now reduced to a quarter of its former height and pale in comparison to how it looked before.
He then took his trip to the annual garden competition. Looking to all of the young and older kids showcasing their largest fruit they have grown. Yurei visioning his ten year old self coming in second place that one year and his father and mother’s words telling him that he would do better next time. He had chuckled to himself and left the crowd like a ghost that never was there. He then went to the nearby food stands on where his father would take him occasionally when he was younger. A brenchian wolf leg was the best to get around this time. After purchasing a wolf leg, he went back to his former home and consumed the leg. Having memories of the taste of it and nothing had changed about the taste.
He had sighed to himself in despair after getting a message on his scouter from Xylo himself. Xylo wanted Yurei to go conquer Planet Yardrat and that the full message would be displayed to him on when he got there. Yurei headed straight to his spacepod and looked back to the home he once knew. Recalling the special memories he had held dear to him and with a simple thrust from his hand, destroyed the house he had grown up in with a simple push of his hand which created enough wind pressure to do it. Yurei had traveled back to his spacepod and began thinking to himself.
Where does karma bring you when you have slaughter those who have done evil deeds. Prison was the norm for Yurei, and escaping was as easy as pie. This was his third escape from a prison and now he was back home. When you usually come back home, you are celebrated if you serve, you are welcomed with open arms from a grand adventure from friends and family, but what if he didn't have any of that? No grand adventure, no service to your name? You don't come back a hero, you come back as a Zero and starting all over again.
The Mazoku Dominion didn't know Yurei’s current whereabouts. In fact it had appeared like he was no one to even the organization he had served. All Yurei wanted was a bone thrown at him, to give him hope once again. The large size crater that had formed right after his landing brought attention. Saiyan scouts were searching and Yurei was whispered to a nearby hole that was covered by leaves. A blue brenchian had called him over and Yurei traveled straight to him and hid in the hole that the man had made. Lowering his power level to match the man’s, he was taken in immediately.
”Take the heavens you are here.. we have been invaded by the saiyans! With your power level.. we can take it back!”
Yurei had felt a second wind entered his body, this was his chance to prove that he meant something. Yurei had nodded with purpose and he was ready to take on the world! The brenchian took him deeper into the ground and to his base. Yurei had seen many brenchians covered in clothes of peasants, dirt, and a lack of food and water. How long was this going for? His own people, having to live like this? Like animals?!!?! Yurei wouldn't allow this to go no further. He would help these people reclaim the planet and Yurei was quickly greeted with the head red brenchian in charge. A fairly muscular man with a white mustache and short hair.
”Could this be the work of a miracle or god? We need your help.. the saiyans have conquered our home planet.. we need your help!”
They needed a savior and Yurei needed a purpose. Yurei was able to do a variety of task for these people. He was able to reclaim their village for them, even to the point of eliminating the saiyans that proved to be much stronger than their whole group. Yurei provided them the help that they needed, though this was only the beginning and this was his one chance of helping the Arcosian Empire out.
His assignment was simple from the head of the village, and that mission was to drive the main population of the saiyans on this side of the village area and to rescue a personal friend of the village leader. A simple mission that can spiral into a disaster or could turn into a blessing. For this village leader would provide Yurei a safe house in keeping his head low from the authorities who were after him. An agreement was made and Yurei headed straight to the wild lands of the forest, and decided to set up camp nearby one of the saiyan outpost villages. The camp was made and established, with his sleeping bag made of simple twigs and leaves. His tent made of the same material and a very small camp fire where he cooked his meal of Brenchia giant snakes. He had consumed his meal and laid low on a high branch tree and just scouting for saiyan soldiers roaming around the forest.
He counted twenty within his area, and had his power level lowered to the point of no detection. The dark gray clouds in the sky had indicated what was second nature to anyone. Rain was falling down, and Yurei began to become soak in it as he kept track of the twenty soldiers who were fairly close to one another. Their boots were consumed by mud and their uniforms dark. They left visible footprints that would soon fade due to the rain.
Just then, Yurei’s eyes widen in a panic like sensation. His campsite was discovered by two sentries and they started to perform a full examination of the entire campsite. While one of the sentries checked and examined the campsite by himself, the other started to speak into his scouter and alerting more to check nearby and checking the high trees. Yurei was already prone on a high branch and because of the rain their visibility was already difficult. This truly was a blessing and a curse circumstances. Yurei knew he would end up sick because of it, but he knew the cost already for survival. With the traps he had set all around his base, he wasn't worried about these soldiers.
One of the soldiers who was checking the outskirts of the surrounding campsite tripped over a twig. The snapped twig caused the sentry to have a minor heart attack of almost collapsing to his feet. A quick relief turned into a shocking reaction as a giant log came crashing down onto his body. The immense impact caused him to fly into a hole covered in leaves and falling into a 10ft ditch. The ditch was covered in various wooden spears that impaled the man. Yurei kept his taps on the numbers of sentries left as another man stepped on a bear trap that was covered in leaves. The yell was concealed by the now heavy rain and before the man could disarm the bear trap, Yurei hanging from a nearby branch upside down and snapping the man’s neck. Eighteen sentries were left and Yurei sticking to the high branches and using the leaves to conceal his presence.
This type of strategy didn't last long, for one sentry had discovered his comrade who had fallen into the ditch. He not only alerted the current members, but the increase of security was now in the numbers of thirty more sentries. Yurei was left with a panic and a much more difficult situation at hand. He had no choice but to stay where he was, for now the saiyan soldiers were now a two man team. Yurei had no choice but to wait it out and if he even tried to move, he didn't want to ruin the chances of detection.
