Pressure 20% higher than anything she had experienced before suddenly weighed down upon the woman, tearing at her body like never before. Once more her body was forced to adapt to ever-increasing forces that sought to grind her into dust.
Even as the pressure way down upon her however a smile slowly spread across Ryder’s face.
~I can go farther. I can handle more pressure than this. I have not yet reached my limit.~
Slowly Rider lifted her arm, once more grasping hold of the knob and twisting it up one more notch. Rising from sixty times Earth's gravity up to seventy times, the pressure swept over the woman like a tidal wave crashing against her fleshly body
There was nothing she could do but stand there struggling against it, but struggle she did.
Slowly she began to circulate her Ki, forcing her energy through her meridians, sending it to her muscles and bones to strengthen and reinforce her fragile mortal body. Only through such desperate efforts could she withstand the pressure.
One foot at a time she began to walk, her steps filled with determination and Valor. With every step she took she could feel herself becoming a little more adapted, the pressure becoming a little more bearable. With every step she took the next became a slight bit less difficult.
Every time she inhaled, Ryder took into herself the Chi of heaven and earth, absorbind and assimilating more of it than in standard meditation. Every time she exhaled a faint mist of impurities the color of dried blood was forced out of her body.
Much like her first foray into augmented gravity training Rider found herself having to walk before she could jog and then to jog before she could run, but run she did. Not a light run like her first time with Tulip, no, this time Rider ran for all she was worth. She ran with all her heart and soul. She ran until she felt she could run no more, her legs turning to jelly beneath her.
When her legs finally began to give out beneath her Rider allowed herself to fall, landing on her hands and began to do push-ups. She started on her knees doing kowtows, lowering her forehead to the floor and raising it back up a few dozen times before transitioning to knee push-ups, and then toe push-ups and lastly to clapping toe push-ups
With each clapping push up the woman pushed herself higher and higher up until at last she could get one foot under her and force herself back to her feet. Violently Ryder's boot slammed into the ground, driving herself upwards until she could get her other foot under her as well. Back on her feet, the woman began to walk once more, slowly cooling herself off from the vigorous exercise.
“Computer, disable augmented gravity” she called out, slowly dragging her body to the door. Though she had overcome seventy times Earth’s Gravity Ryder knew full well she had reached her limit for the day. If she didn’t go home and rest before challenging the next level, her body would suffer the consequences.
