Name:
Gaivahros
Alias:
Omega
Species:
Hybrid (Heran/Saiyan)
Gender:
Male
Age:
28
Height:
6'1''
Alignment:
Chaotic Good
Appearance:
Gaivahros has a light blue skin tone like that of all Herans, but his Saiyan DNA has given him their common black hair. His body is fairly lithe yet muscular and toned.
His hair has two bangs that frame the sides of his face, with two more that drapes over his shoulders, though these are usually hidden by his shroud. The back of his hair is long enough to reach down to his knees. He has bright emerald green eyes that are often half-lidded, giving him the expression of being constantly tired or disinterested.
At most times he wears a red shroud and cape to conceal his face. A light navy blue vest adorns his upper body, the bottom of it fastened with a light blue sash with the ends of it falling to one side. He wears charcoal grey pants with matching boots. The boots are fastened by brown leather straps, fastened with metal clasps that run along the top of the boot.
Personality:
Gaivahros is a very relaxed, laid back and happy-go-lucky individual despite of his genetic makeup, stemming from his comparatively casual upbringing in terms of Heran society. He has a penchant for taking everything save for the extreme in his stride, rarely ever letting anything get to him. Many people take this as him not taking things seriously, and in some cases they would be correct. Despite his whimsical outlook on life, Gaivahros does not take lightly to sleights against himself or other people he cares for, becoming serious as his Saiyan genes begin to affect his mentality.
The traits of both Heran and Saiyan makes Gaivahros a natural born fighter, fighting instincts being like second nature to him. He sees his training as more of a casual exercise or as something to kill time as another would do with jogging or reading a book. Despite his heritage, he does not have a natural drive to fightâhe would prefer to sit and talk things over, avoiding confrontation where it was possible. However, when he does fight, it is usually only at two speeds; full out, and stop, not knowing the nuances of sparring or going easy on another.
Gaivahros is a very sociable person, always wearing a smile on his face when engaging conversation with others. His casual upbringing has taken him away from the usual aggressiveness that is commonly shown from the other individuals of Hera, and as such is a more passive individual himself. He speaks quite formally when around new people, though quickly becomes more informal when he feels that they have known him long enough, usually after their first meeting. This dynamic changes if he is engaged with a person who has a hostile disposition, becoming straight up informal as a way to try and ease the tension.
Gaivahros loves animals, having spent much of her teenage life raising different kinda of them. His constant calm and relaxed disposition made him approachable by them, with his pacifistic nature reflecting on them. He cannot bring himself to harm animals, seeing them as creatures who just want to live in peaceâthey do not feel hate or anger or prejudice, only an instinct to survive. As such, whenever he is attacked by a wild animal he will either leave or, if needs must, incapacitate them painlessly.
Despite being a passive and relaxed person, Gaivahros is quick-witted and known for his sharp tongue. His genetics and closed upbringing meant that he never truly learned the nuances of decorum and language, and the subsequent consequences. He has a strong habit of making wise-cracks, giving people pet names, and being and overall wiseass.
His upbringing as a subject for the perfect Heran warrior has also made him incredibly learnedâA fighter without intellect is, after all, just a beast who knows only to punch things. Through his years of education he is fluent in the Common, Heran, Saiyan, Arcosian and Namekian languages. He has a vast amount of knowledge and practical experience in engineering and medical sciences, both considered to be a foundation in creating a self-sufficient combatant. His medical education has given him knowledge of various herbs and plants that are deemed to have medicinal properties, especially earthâits vast and variant ecosystem being a perfect place of research.
Although his biological makeup means that he does not need as much nutrition as a normal being would, Gaivahros still has the trademark Saiyan appetite. He does not nearly consume as much as a typical Saiyan would, but he would still occasionally consume several times his own weight in food. He prefers to drink liquids as opposed to solid food however, a trait that stemmed from much of his early life being spent inside of an incubation tank. Gaivahros rarely eats meat, though when he does it is strictly pork or beef, or something of equivalence. His favoured foods are things that are sweet or fruity.
History:
The Foundation
Gaivahros was conceived in the year 2780 as part of Project CHARON, a project using bio-engineering science to crate the perfect Heran warrior.
Fifty years ago, in the year 2738, the planet Hera came under assault from an unknown party. After years of fighting, the war had finally came to an end. But the cost was highâmuch of its civilization had been destroyed. With little choice beside to slowly rebuild its scarred planet over time, one Heran doctor, Dr. Marik, a master in the field of biosciences, was given the task to create a breed of warriors that could surpass any who dared to strike Hera again.
Dr. Marik took whatever supplies and personnel he needed before heading off into space, noting that his research would be safer off-world and inconspicuous. After days of travel, the team touched down on Asteroid HE101, an asteroid that slowly orbited around Heran in an asteroid belt. A fully functioning base and laboratory was created through the use of the Heran's own module of hoi-poi capsules. The laboratory was named the 'House of M' after the doctor.
For many years Dr. Marik and his team devised theorems and practical studies on how to artificially enhance or create the perfect Heran warrior. Dr. Marik started through gene manipulation and correction, using his assistants as voluntary test subjects. The process of accelerating hormone growth, muscular growth and metabolism lead to what seemed to be successful resultsâthe subjects became stronger, faster, more agile and quick-thinking. However, as the days went by, each test subject began to deteriorate rapidlyâmuscle decomposition, accelerated aging and, for one assistant, exploding due to not being able to stop the overflowing energy intake. The project was deemed a failure.
One of Marik's assistants, Dr. Kyobu, had suggested that perhaps Heran physiology could not be forcefully enhanced. She theorized that if the Heran genetic code could be muted and held in-check with something, then it should allow for rapid growth while also creating a scaling limiter. Marik found truth in her words, and began to contemplate how to do soâhe had to provide a being that surpassed typical Heran prowess, but had to be given limited growth while the body was still adapting to the power. The doctor came to the conclusion that the only way to do so was to splice Heran DNA with that of another, equally as strong race.
For months the doctor's scouting drones went to other planetary systems with the intent of collecting appropriate DNA samples from various races. Human, Saiyan, Arcosian, Namekian, Majin, Demon, Ogreâhe did not care for what he had found; he just needed something. When the drones returned, he began to study the samples to find how effective they would be. With the first phase of the plan concluded, Dr. Marik began Project CHARON (Combination of Heran And outer Racial Organic Nurturing).
Tests to successfully splice Heran DNA with other racial DNA began its practice. At a cellular level it was working, the two strands being compatible without signs of complication or resistance. As the cells began to fully combine, Dr. Marik had each mix of samples placed within incubation chambers to promote growth. After the cells formed their bonds at a natural level, they were then injected into twenty four Heran egg cells provided by Dr. Kyobu. The eggs were placed inside incubation chambers to grow into newborn foetuses.
However, after a few months the process began to return horrible results. Namekian-spliced foetuses began to develop mutated limbs. Arcosian DNA began to eat away at the organic matter and leave only a chitinous shell. The Majin foetuses turned into writhing, pulsating blobs of jelly. More than three quarters of the subjects had become unusable, and were quickly disposed of. Under the premise that the incubation chambers were providing too quick a growth, they were turned down to natural as the remaining four foetuses continued to show no signs of defects.
The trade-off of time for results proved to be a wise decision as the remaining few began to mature into their child stages. It wasn't until sometime after that complications began to show once more. Two of the babies, both of demonic breed, began to exert a large amount of power. Before any heavy damage could be done, their life supports were disabled. The only two left was a human and a Saiyan hybrid. The doctor took note of their readings; the Saiyan was experiencing greater cell growth and power than the human. With the tests unanimous, the human baby was also discarded, leaving only the Saiyan-Heran to grow.
Birth of a Hybrid
For years the baby remained inside the incubation chamber. Dr. Marik was under constant stress from the demands of his lord, despite himself trying to explain that he needed more time to get his results in case any more complications began. He was about to accelerate the growth of the incubation chamber once more but was stopped by Dr. Kyobu, her stating that the risk of complications would render their entire time and efforts wasted. She suggested that for the child to experience proper growth, he would need to be cared for and nurtured in a natural environment. Reluctantly Dr. Marik accepted it, and released the child from the incubation chamber.
It took a fortnight before the child had awoken from his sleep. Under the care of medical professionals and doctors, the child was given the green lightâhealthy, displayed natural bodily functions, and without any sign of defects. As part of the natural nurturing initiative, Kyobu took it upon herself to raise the child herself, out of a sense of duty but, more importantly than that, out of maternal instincts and seeing him as her own only child. She had given him the name Gaivahrosâ'Saviour of Hope' in Heran tongue.
Throughout his childhood, Gaivahros was like any other child. His innocent and helplessness nature made him the life of the otherwise quiet House of M. Despite living as an ordinary child would, he was constantly kept watch and monitored. Despite his natural growth and nature showing no signs of deviation from the norm, the scientists could not afford to be lax.
Kyobu started educating the child herself, occasionally bringing in colleagues to help assist her. It was from her that Gaivahros began to learn the basics of reading, writing, and simple mathematics. The boy was slow at first, but began to quickly pick it up. As her education continued to be a brain stimulus for the boy, he began to learn quicker and quicker, understanding more advanced mathematicsâtrigonometry, Pythagoras' theorem, fractions and percentagesâat only the tender age of eight years old.
The both of their lives changed one day. During one of Gaivahros' lectures, he had asked Kyobu what parents were. Explaining to the child what parents were, he asked her if she was her mom. It took a while for her to respond, but gave a nod. Gaivahros quickly got up from his seat and ran to her, hugging her waist and tell her that he loved her. With tears in her eyes, Kyobu hugged him back and said that she loved her too.
The doctors became concerned. It was a collective decision that the emotion of love and compassion would greatly impact his effectiveness as a warrior. But Dr. Kyobu insisted that these emotions were necessary for him, in that they would become a motivational drive for him to fight for Hera and its people. Marik retorted that it would be these emotions that will make him weak and hesitant in combat, not just in act of defense but also in act of offense. The decision was upheld, and Kyobu was instructed to stay away from Gaivahros. With a heavy heart, she accepted it.
Gaivahros' education and livelihood took a drastic change. For many months he would learn the more 'important' founts of knowledge. He began to study biology and physiology in regards to not only Herans, but also the other races. He began to undergo cardiovascular and muscle training, to which he quickly adapted to. They began to teach him technological engineering and herbology, as a means for him to become self-sufficient in the midst of combat.
But over time he showed slowing enthusiasm and attention, affecting his learning and growth. He began to become weary and tired as though he was just a walking zombie without purpose. He felt empty and devoid of life. He longed to be with his mother, and the feeling of missing her was starting to take a toll on his immature mind.
During one of his routine muscular training sessions, Gaivahros refused to do it. When asked why he refused, he said that he wants to see his mom. Dr. Marik refused, saying that she was a negative influence on him and that he will continue his training. Again the boy refused, screaming that he wants to see her. In response, the doctor sent a high-voltage current through the wired monitoring equipment as an ultimatum, saying that if he does not train then he is useless and will be disposed of.
Out of sorrow, anger and desperation, Gaivahros went into a violent rage, tearing away the wires and destroying the equipment. His natural Saiyan and Heran heritage began to overwhelm him, and began to destroy the exercise room, punching through steel and tearing away panels. With no other choice, Marik had to send in Kyobu to calm him down. She tried to call to him to stop, but words fell on deaf ears. It wasn't until she screamed his name in anger that he finally stopped. She scolded him, telling him that she raised him better than that. She expected for the child to shout back at her, but Gaivahros could only stand still and cry. Kyobu knelt down and pulled the child into a hug, telling him that it would be okay and no one was mad at him.
Distressed and exhausted, Dr. Marik cancelled the day's plans and retired to his chamber as he began to contemplate on what exactly he was doing, and what he had created. He had begun to hate what he was doing and, after an hour of sorting through his thoughts, made a decision. He had contacted his lord and had told him of the experiments failure, explaining that Herans could only become stronger themselves naturally. He forwarded copies of photographs of the prior experiments from his tests with some of his assistants as well as the aborted foetuses, providing commentary on what had happened. Through all of this, he had kept the success of Gaivahros away from him. The lord, angered that he had wasted time and resources towards this institution, banished Dr. Marik and his assistants from Hera to live out the rest of their days on the asteroid.
The next day, Dr. Marik called an emergency meeting with all members of staff. He had explained the situation with their lord and the consequences of it. Though some were shocked and upset with what had happened, they understood why. Marik told of them how in trying to create and manipulate life, he had become a man without morals, making him no different from those who attacked Hera. He put an end to Operation CHARON, and told them that their main priority now was to live.
By the end he had dismissed all of the team, save for Dr. Kyobu. He had admitted his guilt conscious to her, wondering how everything had come to this. He said that he couldn't continue to go through with trying to make a weapon out of an innocent child. He knew he had his heart in the right place, but his actions couldn't be forgiven. He told her that he now understood what she saw in Gaivahros, and ordered her to make sure that she raised her properly, as a mother and not as a scientist like he did.
Kyobu returned to her child, but now with Marik accompanying her. Gaivahros had asked the man if he was grandpa Marik, a title that Kyobu had referred to him when he spoke to Gaivahros about it. Marik acknowledged it with a nod, stating that he was the person who gave him life. Without a second thought, Gaivahros asked him why he took Kyobu away from him. Marik said nothing for a moment and hung his head in shame, revealing that he had created Gaivahros so that he could become a strong fighter to protect Hera, and that he believed that Kyobu's influence was detracting from his potential. He admitted that what he did was wrong and that he would never do such a thing again. He apologized to the boy before turning to leave, only for Gaivahros to run and hug him from behind. Mirroring what Kyobu had said to him the day before, he told Marik that it was okay and no one was mad at him, referring to him as Grandpa. With tears in his eyes, the doctor knelt down to give the child a hug in return. He came to see Gaivahros as his only child as well.
Living His Life
Throughout his childhood Gaivahros lived as though he was any other child. By this time the scientists had accepted their fate, and began to adapt their knowledge and expertise to help provide them with life. Dr. Marik had begun to develop advanced terraforming technology to help shape the asteroid they were on into a more hospitable landmass. In time the asteroid had its own breathable atmosphere, drinkable water supply, and earth fertile enough to grow crops.
It was the year 2796. By this point Gaivahros had become a teenager. Even though he was so young, his knowledge in the field of engineering helped the other scientists with building a habitable micro-ecosystem. He had come to see the people here as his closest friends and family. He had taken up his lot in life with keeping the institution and its personnel running, tending to the fields and water wells. In time, as the scientists were able to create artificial stock, he would take care of them too. The creatures quickly accepted him and would constantly follow him and be playful. Although he felt happy when he was around the animals, he always felt a constant pain in his heart knowing that they would one day be slaughtered to provide food.
Gaivahros continued his training as he did while he was a child, but now he found it to be relaxing and a good deal of exercise. Although he was no longer monitoredâhe had reached this far in life without signs of defectionâhe constantly showed signs of improvement and power. Dr. Marik had been thankful to Dr. Kyobu for suggesting that he should be given a proper life, noting that no amount of science could provide the kind of growth and evolution as natural life could.
Technology had come so far on the asteroid that they were now able to pick up unencrypted frequencies from other planets so far away as earth. Though scientists used these frequencies to monitor and research the life on these planets, Gaivahros used them to pick up on televised signals, finding their shows and music fascinating and overly entertaining. He had particularly enjoyed old martial arts films, and had begun developing his own style of martial arts incorporating elements of wing chun, taekwondo and jujitsu. In honor of its earthen roots he named his style 'Mushou-ryuu', the empty rotating palms style.
The Fall of M
Tragedy struck Asteroid M on the year 2804. A band of strikers from Hera began attacking the asteroid under orders from their lordâthey had used their own systems to hack into the asteroid's own frequencies, discovering that Project CHARON had not been a failure and that their only successful creation had been kept a secret. Their orders were to destroy the laboratory and to recover the Gaivahros, giving him the codename 'Omega'.
Gaivahros had been training by himself and showering before he heard explosions coming from around the base. He quickly dressed and rushed outside. The base was on fire, lights dark save for the rotating red emergency lights. He rushed through its corridors, trying to find what was causing it. He thought that maybe something in the engineering bay had malfunctioned and exploded, and headed there. Inside he found the bodies of Dr. Marik and Dr. Kyobu. While Kyobu had died, Marik's barely-conscious voice called out to him, stating that they had been attacked, but he didn't know who it was. With his dying breath, he instructed Gaivahros to take the hidden escape pod located nearby, giving him the password for it. He told him that both him and Kyobu were proud to have had him as their son and that they will always love him before finally succumbing to his wounds.
With tears in his eyes, Gaivahros laid the doctor down beside his mother before going over to the control panel to unlock the hatches. Getting into the pod and activating its automated piloting, he shot from the engineering bay and into space. With the automated piloting scanning for the nearest hospitable planet, it began to make its way towards Hera before a laser from one of the invader's ships damaged the components. The escape pod wasn't able to recalibrate itself until after the pod had long passed Hera, by then it had then relocated the next nearest hospitable planet; planet Vegeta.
Starting Planet:
Vegeta
Techniques:
Shadowless Palm [V2]
A strike used to fool the sense of sight. The user lashed out with a powerful strike, but uses their ki to create an optical illusion; the first attack is an illusion that does no damage, used in an attempt to drop the opponent's guard, while the second, corporeal palm strikes while their guard is down. The attack deals 33% PL in damage, and charges at 33% per turn. This attack is a Homing attack.

Birth of a Hybrid
For years the baby remained inside the incubation chamber.
Vegeta
Techniques:
Offensive
Force Palm [N1]
The user concentrates their ki into the palm of their hand before thrusting it forwards. The force of both the strike and the ki within impacts with a strong concussive force into the targeted area, usually the chest or face. The attack deals 33% PL in damage.
Quivering Palm [UP2]
A more powerful version of the Force Palm. While its predecessor aims to deal external damage, the Quivering Palm aims to deal internal damage, by using the Ki built up to rupture the opponent's internal organs. The attack deals 66% PL in damage, and charges at 66% per turn. if used to knock out an opponent, the attack will merely shut down the opponent's body to a state of unconsciousness. if used to kill the opponent, it will cause a vital organ (usually the heart), or a selection of organs, to explode.
Support
Vajra Step [SU1]
Through a sudden burst of speed you leave behind a static image of yourself to distract your opponent, this technique allows you to completely dodge techniques beneath 100% of your PL. This technique uses 1 KP in KP Battles and cannot be charged.
Utility
Energy Sensing [UT]
Via some method you are capable of feeling the natural energy of living beings, you have an understanding of the power level of other non-android warriors and can feel the power of the attacks they are using compared to your own. This technique is Passive not requiring activation and uses 0 KP in a KP Battle, Energy Sensing does not work on Androids.
Flight [UT]
You have a method of taking to the sky allowing you to take your fights to even greater heights!
Three Devas [UT1]
Used to confuse and disorientate enemies, the user uses his Ki to leave afterimages of the motions of their body; if they wave their arm, afterimages will follow shortly; if they run, afterimages will trail behind. This technique creates three illusions that follow them.
Traits:
Thirst for Battle (Heran Trait): While most Herans crave for battle and destruction, Gaivahros' hybrid nature diminishes this urge to a certain extent. When inside of a Death Enabled thread, Gaivahros gains an additional x1 offensive boost to his transformations. However, if he runs away from the fight, the shame will embarrass him, giving him a 25% penalty to his gains in that thread.
Zenkai Boost (Saiyan Trait): Should Gaivahros succumb to serious, life-threatening damage and be able to recover from them, he receives a boost in power. However, due to his Saiyan genes being diluted by his Heran genes, he receives only half the power boost a full-blooded Saiyan would.
