"Oh cool, a village ahead! Somewhere to rest now that my jog is pretty much done," Maxxie said aloud as she jogged across a dirt path surrounded by a grass plain. For miles in any direction of the female were flat lands such as these, trees dotting them as well as various species of animals. This was Maxxie's favorite location to train her body in, as it was always calming for her. The sun was shining above her in the bright sky, notifying the people of Earth that it was mid-day. The woman was wearing a purple tank top, black bike shorts, short black socks and black sneakers, with her hair in braids like usual. By the time she got to the entrance of the small village she was sweating wildly, putting her hands on her bent knees while panting.
This settlement was really small. There were a few dozen houses that were separated a few dozen meters apart with thick grass in between them, with a shopping mart added into the mix which indicated that the people didn't need to do much farming, and therefore didn't, despite the fact that their living conditions were perfect for it. The sign that Maxxie stopped near said "Crestmont Village." To her surprise however, there was only one person in her sight that seemed to be outside. It was a man with nothing on save for a skirt made of grass. His skin was dark and he looked to be of average size, probably standing in at six feet three inches, eight inches taller than Maxxie herself. He had an athletic build, as could be seen from his muscles and six-pack of abs. He had green eyes and long black hair that went several inches past his should, almost surpassing his back. He also had several tattoos on his body, which were things that Maxxie couldn't really describe. This man, with a staff in his right hand, was walking around the large stone statue at the entrance that depicted a warrior in armor with his right arm raised in the air with a sword in it. His left hand was raised sideways against his chest, as it held a shield that acted to protect him. This statue was at least twenty-five feet tall, and was massive. The man chanting a language unknown to Maxxie as he walked around it. He stopped before the female martial artist could come up to him and talk.
"Hey, what are you doing there? And why is no one else out and about? This is a small village, but surely some people must have things to do," Maxxie asked him, forming a curious expression and looking into his eyes. The stranger walked towards her, stopping once they were only a meter apart. He carried a blank expression while looking upon her. This didn't intimidate Maxxie however, as she put on a brave face.
"You may want to leave soon, or the makers will have another guest this day," he said, dodging her question.

[ Thread PL: 78,483] [ UT] Liquid Ki - Mist Active! Ki suppressed to 10000] "You better not be threatening her." An ominous voice could be heard coming from above, somewhere around the giant stone statue, yet nobody could be properly seen from this angle! "I would hate to swing my sword on a mere mortal." Wait, was it the statue itself? Well, yes and no. The sound had indeed originated from somewhere within the monument, but it was not the statue that spoke directly... Rather, someone was being rather stealthy and cheeky. Glowing water began to leak from the statue, pooling on the ground as well as rising around the statue's sword. "However, if the situation calls for it, I will."An aura of radiant teal and white ki exploded into existence around the statue. "So, what shall you do?"
The voice boomed once more, aiming to command respect and demanded answers.

Both Maxxie and the stranger turned their attention away from each other as they heard... the statue speak to them? Water began to ooze out of it as well, letting them know that something definitely was up with the large object. This statue threatened the tall man, warning him that he would strike at the guy with his sword if he didn't leave the female alone. While doing this, teal-colored ki aura surged around him.
"Great Asra... is that you? Have my chants worked??" the man turned his body towards the statue at this point, throwing his staff to the floor and walking slowly towards it. Once he got close enough, the man got on his knees and bowed, on top of the water no less, getting himself all wet. Though he did not care, looking quite elated. "Finally, after days of attempting to get in contact with you, you answered! I was simply making sure that the child didn't interfere with your resurrection, but since you are here, I am a threat to her no longer! Now let us march towards the tribe that caused your downfall!" he continued, staying in his bowed position, and he would do so until the statue told him. Meanwhile, Maxxie stayed where she was, a few meters away from both of them. She was a little agitated that the man called her a child.
"Hey, giant dude. You aren't an actual statue? You can talk? I suppose his voodoo did work, but jokes on him, because it seems that you are taking a liking to the ladies! No tall and large men on your team, am I right?" Maxxie joked with the thing, also throwing an insult at the man for his comment. He ignored her though, waiting on the reply of the statue and the statue alone.

Yeesh, talk about awkward. Either the mystic that was attempting a ritual was the ballsiest man alive to stick around or completely bonkers. The crafty being behind this impromptu distraction was thankfully the forgiving sort. This Asra that the burly man mentioned must have been incredibly important to them. Were they an ancient and powerful being that acted as a guardian? Or perhaps they were just a friend?
"This feat might not have been simple to perform, however..." The voice spoke up after the man questioned his own abilities. "You are the summoner, and I am summoned. Have you no faith in your power?"
Genuinely interested, the mysterious entity awaited an answer up until the man spoke bluntly about vengeance. A disgusting thing that would drag even the most noble and kind into the abyss of discord and destruction. This vantage point, for all its cunning trickery, could be used for more good than initially anticipated.
"Perhaps more importantly; do you truly wish to bring this pain that you feel unto others? Think on it, and speak truthfully when you are ready." This man could still be saved from the downward spiral.
The woman was a curious addition to the situation. Her snark was appreciated, but that feeling could not be vocalized at the moment. "It is a complicated situation, madam wanderer, as you can probably tell. I have spoken to many people, men and women alike. I do not see how 'teams' play into this."

"Of course I, Karok have faith in my abilities as the village summoner. It is just that after a while I believed that you were a being so mighty and above the magic of me, a mortal that you wouldn't be able to answer the call," the man got up from his kneeled position, liquid dripping from his legs. He walked back a few steps so that the large statue could see him perfectly, now standing upright, arms to his sides.
"But lord Asra... did you not want this as well? Do you dare tell me that we are not to listen to your will that was documented hundreds of years ago? The Lakota tribe raided our village and killed your family right in front of you, while having taken the lives of dozens of others. You said yourself that not a single one of them should live on, their family lines to be broken and beyond repair! For these centuries our own families have attempted to complete your request, but every time our numbers have grown shorter. But now I have been able to bring your soul from the netherworld and put it into this monument. Now you can help, getting revenge directly instead of wholly relying on us! And yet, here you stand questioning my goals? Has the netherworld distorted your memories, great one?" Karok told the statue, his face showing an expression of curiosity. Meanwhile, Maxxie didn't care for their discussion, or at least not most of it. She was indifferent to the actions that others wanted to take if it didn't involve her.
"Ha, it was just a joke stone dude. Anyway, the souls of the dead can be put into statues? I don't really buy that. Hey, Karok, are you sure this is the same guy? From what the book of Evermore tells me, once you are dead you cannot come back," the woman walked forward, now standing on the left side of the summoner.
"Foolish girl. What is this Evermore you speak of? You are following the wrong religion. Souls of those long past go back and forth from the living world and the netherworld all the time with the help of a little bit of magic," Karok replied, now looking serious as he gazed into Maxxie's eyes. It seemed that once she began being skeptical of his religion, he just had to reply to her. Maxxie looked angry now, gazing back at him. She didn't like her religion being talked down upon either.

"If you have faith, then you need not explain yourself." The voice echoed, waiting patiently for Karok the mystic to say his piece. Vengeance. Why was it that people... Thrived on it? The heart of one behind this elaborate puppetry felt cold for a moment. They felt that way at times, and did not like it one bit. It was unnatural and horrifying. "Perhaps, long ago, I did." This was of course the truth, just squash the stretch of time a little and it made sense to the voice. "However, vengeance is a plague. A disgusting infection. It would endanger many more lives senselessly, and for what? Because we lack the will to find another way?" In that moment of pause, the voice thought to themselves as well. Looking for an answer to that question as well, they struggled. "To feel that pain, and bring it to others, knowing it personally, it eventually felt so... Wrong. As if I was weak because of it." Briefly, they wondered how the real Lord Asra would feel at this point. Perhaps in time he also ended up feeling this way. The sounds of an argument came, these two really did like to clash, it seems. "Calm yourselves. Your religions are not wrong, merely different. Some can escape the afterlife..." More personal thoughts surfaced once again. However, they had to power on through for now. "Others cannot without help, or choose not to either way." For all the other two knew, the voice was the one with the first hand experience. They didn't need to know it was actually second hand experience. "Now, this book you speak of, the name is new to me, what can you tell us about it?"

Both Maxxie and Karok now looked up to the statue, the female looking confused and the male just looking straight up angry. He listened to the statue talk of how he no longer held revenge in high regard, but didn't want accept these words, deciding to stay infected by this 'plague.' The magician ascended into the sky, staying in front of Asra while being a few meters above him. a red aura of ki now formed around his whole body. He pointed one of his arms at Asra and the other at Maxxie. Two orbs of ki formed at his palms, and they grew bigger and bigger.
"You no longer wish for vengeance? Both of our religions are not wrong? I find it hard to believe that this is you, Asra, a figure that has been praised by our community for centuries. Your values have drastically changed, wanting peace with a warring village, and even accepting the beliefs of other groups as true. Whether this is you or not however, it is time for your presence to be gone from this place! We will figure some other way to deal with the Lakota tribe," Karok responded, furious at the one that he used to look up to. No longer, as both of the charged-up orbs of ki were launched, shooting towards the statue and the martial artist.
"Er, I guess the back-and-forth QnA will have to wait!" Maxxie shouted just before the orb of energy seemingly made contact with her and blew up the surrounding area, smoke covering the location. Despite this, Maxxie made it out ok, suddenly appearing right above the smoke in the air, now pointing at Karok with her right arm while looking pretty pissed. "Hey you! It isn't nice to randomly start fights with others! We were having a nice conversation!" she commented loudly, before flying at the target with immense speed, her hands now at the sides of her legs.

'Great.' The tone in the mystic's voice was unmistakable. They were confused, angry and altogether stubborn. "Time changes all things. It is your fault alone for not recognizing that. Do not come crying to me when your world falls apart around you, Karok... Nor when others find fault in your motives..." The ominous voice faded from the statue as the being that hid within it shifted through it and discreetly launched their own tiny (yet vastly more powerful) bullet of Ki at Karok's harmlessly dissipating it in mid air. Under the cover of dust and debris the one behind it all dove into the ground, distancing themselves from the situation for a moment. At a safe enough distance hidden behind a rock, a plan developed. Dusting themselves off, clearing their throat and readjusting themselves to speak normally; they swiftly re-entered the fray!
Finally, they had revealed themselves; and the other two were none the wiser. Just who was this dashing rogue? Why, none other than Defrosch!
To the other two, an Arcosian suddenly appeared between them after barreling in from the distance. "Alright you two knuckleheads, whats goin on here?!" He scowled at the two. Knowing full well what had been going on, he saw no reason for them to be clued in. Not yet, and especially not Karok if he was going to be a petulant child about everything. "I don't exactly have to tell you I'm not a fan of people blowin stuff up or causin' a ruckus now do I?"
[UT] Liquid Ki - Diver Down used to floop out of the statue and into the ground for a bit.
