An Old Challenger Approaches
Jormungandr scanned the desert around her with squinted eyes. She was grateful to the Makyo Star for the power it gave her, but it did seem to have a rather problematic side-effect; whenever it was in the sky, she grew restless and belligerent, eager to fight. She needed to fight.
Growling, she shot into the sky, flaring her ki as she sent out a barrage of ki blasts to obliterate all the rocks in the vicinity. She did her best to make as much noise and light as possible; She definitely wanted to be noticed.
After spending a few minutes turning the landscape around her into a pock-marked plain that looked like it had been used for explosives testing, she dropped back to the ground, stretching as she waited for someone to respond to her wordless challenge. |

The young hybrid flew through the night sky, keeping her focus on the city in the distance. Alex is waiting for me at home; can’t keep him waiting forever. A smile crossed her lips as the woman recalled his choice for cooking tonight. He always made an amazing casserole; it would be piping hot and waiting for her on arrival. Her gaze shot to one side as she flew to a sudden stop. A surge of energy, huge in scope, had just devastated the desert to the east of her position.
I could ignore it and just fly to supper...Alex wouldn’t care. Her expression quickly soured as the woman realized she knew exactly what Alex’s reaction to a notification like that would be. “I need to go warn the higher-ups and KAOS! Finish eating without me!” He would then leave Tulip alone to finish her meal. Something about eating alone just didn’t sit right with the woman. Growling in irritation, the woman took off at her fastest speed.
She flew into sight of the desert just in time to see the attack’s aftermath. A single figure floated in the sky above her, figure and face hidden by the darkness. Thrusting one hand to the side, Tulip created her huge claymore of silver. Firmly grasping the handle, the woman swung the sword over her shoulder onto her back. She could feel the surging, evil energy pulsing through the figure and knew exactly what it was. A demon!
“I need to request you put away that power and go somewhere else, monster! Otherwise...I’ll have to make you!” Her voice was firm, not betraying the fear the woman felt as she finally got a read on the exact strength of this demon she was facing. It was easily more than double her current suppressed strength. I still have that...but it hopefully doesn’t go that far.

also, Jor is trying a less aggressive approach to finding sparring partners this time around

The serpent spun around as she heard a voice telling her to "put that power away", her body tensing as she instinctively prepared to attack. She managed to restrain herself just in time to avoid blasting them, however, when she realized they seemed to think she was dangerous. She still couldn't stop herself from letting out an explosive sigh of relief when she noticed the claymore of shining ki on their back, and sensed a power within them roughly equal to her own without the Makyo star.
Taking a deep breath, she forced her features to relax. "Thank the Kais! Look, I know I don't seem all that friendly, but I really needed to make sure I got someone's attention. Could you just... could you just fight me? If you want, I could try to go easy on you, though it might end up being rather painful regardless, but I will make sure not to kill you, at least!" she said, her voice containing a strange pleading note and her words slightly tangled as she rushed them out. "I mean, I appreciate the power boost that damn star gives me," she elaborated, gesturing vaguely upwards, "but by the kais above, I can't sit still! I need to let off some steam... could you help me out?"
She grimaced inwardly as she thought about how awkward her speech was, reflecting that she really wasn't very good at this whole being friendly thing right now. Or at talking to people. |
