TOMA THE HERO"ENTERING PLANET NAMEK'S ATMOSPHERE." Cried the automated A.I. unit inside Toma's Space pod. The Turtle Hermit's eyes slowly opened, his vision blurred for a moment as his eyes focused on what was around him. The red interior of the pod was a stark contrast to the darkness behind his eyelids, and it pained his eyes to have to be adjusted to it so quickly. But he'd get over it, after all it was only him waking up.
"Well, that was quick..." Toma spoke to himself in his early-morning haze as the green planet drew ever closer. The engine upgrade for his Space pod really had been worth it, hadn't it? He had gotten here in a third of the time than if he'd left his pod the way it was. This would make traveling around the universe so much easier! He was glad to have gotten his Zeni's worth.
Opening his mouth and letting out a yawn, the Saiyan sat forward in his chair, stretching his muscles -- well, what was available to him, anyways. The tight confines of the pod made it hard for one to move, but he could still work out his back and his shoulders. His legs were pained, begging to be stretched and allowed to move, but for now they'd have to wait.
And then, the turbulence came. The pod began to rock and shake back and forth as it entered Planet Namek's atmosphere, the friction of the air super heating the outside of the pod. It was surrounded by flames, almost appearing to be a comet in the sky over the green planet that was Namek. But Toma stayed totally calm and collected -- he'd done this before in a much more damaged pod when he first landed on Earth, and again when he went to Vegeta.
After clearing the atmosphere, the pod began to slow down, it's velocity decreasing. "LANDING IMMINENT, PLEASE REMAIN SEATED." The AI cried again in it's monotone voice, reminding the Hermit that they were about to land -- not that it was needed. It was just the pod's AI following it's safety protocols.
SPLASH!
The pod crashed into the water with the force of a missile, sending water hundreds of feet into the air! The misty water came crashing back down with great force, creating a noise that echoed for miles around. Toma had picked this spot, of course, because he didn't want to damage the planet's surface by crashing into a plateau and leaving a crater.
Toma certainly hadn't expected the water on this world to be green. He spotted fish swimming around outside his pod, and for a moment he admired their biology. Such strange creatures, far different from the fish on Earth or Sylor. He'd love to learn more, but he had a job to do here. Pushing the release lever on his pod, the pod became flooded with the green fluid. Toma used his Ki to push himself out of the pod and gripped onto the side, before pushing himself off the ocean flood and flying straight up to the surface!
Emerging from the water in a beautiful display like a whale breaching, Toma would set the space pod on a nearby plateau. After pressing a few more buttons on the side of the pod, it became enveloped in a yellow gas as it returned to capsule form, that Toma picked up and tucked away nicely inside of a special pocket in his Gi.
He looked around, observing the green water and blue grass as well as the oddly shaped trees, and he smiled. So this is where Milac had come from, is it? It was certainly interesting. Now, if only he could do something about that incoming power level...

Wind rushed passed Shemha as she sat with her legs crossed in the grass. Long blue blades whipped back and forth along with her clothes as the breeze intensified. She didn’t let it disturb her though, hands at rest on her knees. Slow breaths caused her chest to rise and fall in a deliberate pattern, one meant to help her mind focus. With her eyes closed, she tuned in to her other senses. Through the wind she felt the creatures in the water below, not individual, but as a collective source of Ki. Each of them possessed their own life energy, but it was hardly enough to register on a scouter.
On the air she could almost taste the grass around her, the scent of plant matter heavy enough to nearly touch her tongue as it traveled down her nasal passage. Inhaling to take in the cool air, she felt as if she finally understood what was referred to as mediation. All alone like this, she was free to experience the world without the distractions of others. Here she could be alone with nature and observe, reflect or contemplate. Out on this random plateau there was no one to bother…
Gently her eyes opened as she sensed the signature far above her. Head tilted back she searched for the source. After a moment she saw the asteroid like object that hurtled through the sky. Considering there was a signature, she assumed it was a vessel with a passenger inside. As far as she knew, rocks didn’t give off their own signature. Even from this far away she was able to discern its trajectory and it was headed in this direction. Not familiar with the individual she sensed, but aware it was a Saiyan, Shemha contemplated her choices.
Recent activity taken into account, there was a very high chance the Saiyan was a member of the Empire. If that was the case there was no reason for her to intercept them save the opportunity to meet an ally. However, if the new arrival wasn’t a member of the SSE he was powerful enough to pose a threat to most on Namek. Never one to shy away from her duties, she chose to remain. Legs crossed under her still, she held her comfortable position as the pod continued its approach.
Confident in her ability to move aside if she needed to, Shemha sat comfortably all the way until the super-heated space pod slammed into the nearby body of water. Water erupted in a pillar as the ship sank below the surface, the Majin pelted with water droplets even at this distance. She was un-phased; it wasn’t like she could catch a cold anyway. As she blinked a few droplets from her eyes, she watched the Saiyan burst free of the surface. Dripping in water he made his way to dry land, space pod in tow before securing the transport in a capsule.
As he surveyed the area, she remained silent, letting her signature speak for itself. Even if he couldn’t sense her(something she doubted) his examination of the landscape would inevitably lead him to notice her. When he finally did, Shemha smiled from her seated position, still drenched in water from his less than delicate landing.
”Welcome. First time to Namek?”

TOMA THE HEROAs Toma looked around, he realized -- the Ki signature that had been approaching hadn't been approaching at all! It was in fact stationary. Strange, really. How had Toma missed that? Was he still waking up? The knockout gas for the trip was probably still in his system, that had to be what was messing with his senses. Thankfully, it was designed to dissipate within minutes of exiting the pod, so he doubted he'd be under its effects for much longer.
Turning to Shemha, he watched as the Majin spoke to him, and he quirked a brow. She had yet to move, despite being soaked! Toma felt pretty bad, truth be told, but the Majin's were a resilient race. Perhaps the water simply did not bother her? "Indeed." The hermit replied, hovering slowly into the air and flying across the water to the opposite plateu, landing next to her. He looked to the Majin, before smiling, offering his hand. He decided that the best course of action was to introduce himself, after all he had no idea what goverment this world might have, though a Majin was certainly not what I'd expected.
"My name is Toma. I'm a Saiyan." Toma would speak, genuinely happy to meet the female. He hoped she'd return his kindness, though from what he'd seen so far, he doubted that she'd be aggressive. And she was strong, too. Toma could feel that. The thought of a fight might've even dared to cross his mind...
"May I ask where I am? As you said, it's my first time here, and well..." He looked around. "Not meaning to be rude, but everything seems to look the same."

Over the male came, Toma as it would turn out. Peaceful smile on her face despite what many might see as discomfort, she took no offense to the involuntary soaking his arrival gave her. When his hand extended she rose to her feet in one fluid motion. Unlike a creature with bones her legs didn’t need to navigate the shift in position, knees bending unnaturally as she rose straight up. Once on her feet, her hand extended to take his; the Majin’s grasp gentle despite the power contained within her slender body.
”It is a pleasure to meet you Toma, my name is Shemha.” She responded in kind as they shook. Shemha even took it a step farther, her upper half dipped in a small bow to accompany the greeting. In her mind, it was always proper to be respectful. Regardless of someone’s looks or apparent strength, you could never be sure who you addressed. If you were always polite, you would not offend. Of course that wasn’t to say some she ran across didn’t lose her respect and with it the proper etiquette, but that was few and far between.
”As for where you are, like I said, this is the planet Namek. More specifically, you are in a region known as The Outer Plait. Not much here beyond what you see to be honest. One of the main reasons I chose to try and mediate this far out.”The Majin explained as her hand finally released his. With a small shrug she glanced around the immediate area as if looking for something before her attention returned to him.
”What brings you here in such a…sudden fashion?” Shemha asked, a reference of course to the near crash landing.

TOMA THE HEROToma was more than a little weirded out by the Majin's unnatural movement, but for her, it was natural. He wasn't offended of course -- he just couldn't understand how something could move like that! What with his solid bones and squishy flesh and blood vessels running through his body. He always wondered what it might be like to be a Majin, a shapeless, magical being that could conform to whatever sizes they desired. From his battle with Xitica, he knew Majin's were incredibly durable -- and that he need not pull his punches with them. He had learned that lesson the hard way, unfortunately. But that only made his desire to fight this Majin woman all the stronger! She was going to be an excellent training partner, perhaps even for a gravity battle… he wondered for a moment, would she partake in such a thing?
“The Outer Plait…” Toma repeated, looking around again. A barren, empty part of the planet. Just like the Yunzabit Highlands back on Earth. Toma very much understood why Shemha would come here -- much how Toma would go to the frozen Mount Frappe, or the deserted West Desert in order to train in peace. Or, hell, even his own home in the Southern Islands offered a decent amount of peace when one wasn’t going to go looking for him to train under them. Perhaps he could find strong Namekian warriors here to train with? He always wanted to fight stronger Namekians ever since he fought Ukare, and his fight with Namorel had only increased that desire even further than before.
“So far, Namek is beautiful. Peaceful. I like it.” Toma spoke, smiling, before turning to Shemha. His tail unfurled from his waist, sticking out of his red sash, playfully wagging back and forth as the monkey tail normally did, curling above and under itself, nearly as if it had a mind of its own! It was one of Toma’s habits, how when he was at peace, his tail started acting around a little. Though Toma hardly noticed -- he didn’t pay much attention to the appendage unless he was taking concious control of it for a battle. The cool breeze blew past the Hermit and the Majin once more, making Toma’s hair and Gi flow in the wind.
Toma would turn to Shemha as she asked her next question, removing his eyes from the surrounding view and giving her his full attention. He smiled, before raising his hands in front of him and tilting his head. “Well, I’m a martial arts teacher, you see.” Toma began, recalling the reasoning why he’d come to Namek. “And when I first started my journey, I met a Namekian child named Milak. He told me of this world and how strong the people are, as well as about Dragon Balls.” He spoke, shrugging. “Though, I’m not here for the mystic orbs. I’m more interested in meeting the leader of the Namekian people, and facing strong warriors to better my own abilities, so that I might protect my home.” Toma spoke, nodding in a matter-of-fact fashion. He was being totally honest with Shemha -- why shouldn’t he be? After all, the two were practically friends at this point as far as Toma was concerned.
“Speaking of which…” Toma would begin, looking the Majin up and down again. “I can sense that you’re strong, very strong. How about you and I have a friendly match? The last Majin I fought was a training excersize to help her draw out her full potential, I’d love to fight someone who can keep up with me -- I’ve never had an even battle against one of your race before.” Toma would ask, his heart beating ever so slightly faster than before.

Namek was peaceful, it’s most endearing quality. Vegeta and Earth possessed their own charms, but neither provided the serene landscapes and calm villages that Namek did. A somewhat traveled individual thanks to her time spent as a mercenary there were few planets she hadn’t been to. Of course when in service to her former master she was awarded little time to explore them, but still, knowledge existed to some extent, enough to form her opinion at least.
When the newest gust that the day chose to send her way rolled passed, their clothes flapping in the wind, Shemha notice the way his tail uncurled to sway about behind him. In her experience most Saiyans on Vegeta tended to keep the appendage secure around their waist most of the time. She knew of the weakness it could present, but it also seemed to be the “formal” way to keep it. With no tail of her own she did wonder what it was like, how different it might feel when it was allowed to move freely compared to being kept close to the body.
The Majin perked up slightly as Toma declared himself a martial arts teacher. His signature supported the fact as did his physical stature, both impressive when compared to your average specimen. Never having been the part of a school or dojo herself, all her talents were either taught by her former master or developed on her own, she was intently curious as to what sort of martial art he referred to. Before she got the chance to ask, his eyes rather blatantly scanned her figure up and down. Her head cocked to the side in response, unsure of why she was being assessed.
”You flatter me, Toma.” She said first, his compliments about her strength appreciated. As for a friendly match…she wanted to ask a few questions first. In the back of her mind the decision was already made, but how could she pass up the opportunity to learn about him and whatever it was he taught?
”What martial art do you teach exactly and from what world? Forgive my boldness, but I like to at least have some information about an opponent before I engage them.” Shemha apologize just in case the questions offended or put him off. In no way attempting to be rude, she just wanted to be forward and honest with him. Above all his claim as a teacher interested her for she always looked for new things to learn and if he was as skilled as such a position implied…there might be quite a bit he could offer her.

TOMA THE HERO“Oh Toma, you flatter me.” Shemha began, as Toma smiled. She appeared to appreciate his compliment, which was a good start. It was always good to make friends with the locals of a new planet. After all, Toma had not come here as some planet conquering warlord or anything, no no! He had come in peace. In fact, he wished to speak to the leader of the planet, so that he might extend that peace further unto others, if they so wished. He would not force his ideals upon others, but all he asked is that they at least considered the idea. Should they choose to reject it, he would respect their decision.
Another gust of wind whistled by the pair as Toma’s gi flapped in the wind once more, Shemha asking where Toma was from, and what he taught. Toma brought his left hand up to his chest, his hand balling into a fist, coming to rest just under the “Turtle” Kanji resting right upon the front of his Gi. “I teach the style of the Turtle, the most popular martial art on Earth!” Toma spoke proudly, not going to deny his training or his school. Why would he be ashamed, after all? He’d taken the school from having zero students to being the most popular martial arts school on the planet in only a few months!
Everywhere he went, Toma had been recognized as the new leader of the Turtle School. The publicity was rather shocking, to be honest. He was glad he lived in such a remote area on the planet, finally understanding his “Hermit” title. He really did have to be a hermit if he wanted to maintain any semblence of privacy in public. Though since he’d taken the mantal of the Turtle, the populace had started to see him as some kind of hero… though that wasn’t a bad thing.
Toma smiled as he spoke once more. “To answer your question from earlier in greater detail, I’ve also come looking for any students interested in learning my martial art! The turtle style has powerful techniques, and I wish to train the defenders of this planet so that another Realigner Red incident does not happen here again. Being unable to come to this planets aid is a regret of mine, and with it being restored I’d love to help protect it in the future, even if only indirectly.”

The Turtle…the name was not unknown to her. Through her travels on Earth the martial arts school was something she crossed multiple times, the mention of it that is. Familiar with its popularity on the planet she was indeed surprised to see the one that ran it all the way out on Namek. His presence begged to ask, what in the world was he doing here? Before she got the words out though, he explained himself as he looped back to her question.
It was commendable that he chose to travel across the stars simply to train others. After that near crash landing and his light hearted attitude, the Majin initially pegged it for somewhat of an airhead. However, that assessment was unfair. One with little forethought didn’t choose to travel to another planet in order to train its defenders. That took planning and dedication. Her own expression still a light smile, she found her head slowly nodding up and down in agreement to his motives, but with one question.
”Commendable, Toma. Few would take their time to train others, never mind on a different planet than the one they call home. I have to ask though, what is Realigner Red?” Shemha asked. First the Guru mentioned someone by the name of Xylo and now Toma brought this up. Was Namek really that troubled in the past? Through her travels she heard rumors, but yet had not personally verified past events for the planet.
As an ally of Namek through her allegiance to the Empire, Toma’s presence here offered a potential opportunity. He came across as a friendly fellow and one with a popular fighting style under his belt. If he was truly willing to train others…she might just have to take him up on that offer. Always looking to learn more and increase her capabilities, Shemha rarely cared who that training came from. It ranged from the ruler of an Empire to a random demoness and her daughter.

TOMA THE HEROToma nodded at Shemha's question, bringing his arms to cross in front of his chest. He closed his eyes has he recalled the tale of the run-away-android, before speaking to Shemha. "The leader of the planet I live on, Earth, is an android by the name of Virtual Poi, or Vi-Poi for short." Toma began, his head leaning back as he stared at the emerald green sky. "A little over a year ago, Vi-Poi had been infected by an incredibly destructive computer virus. This virus turned him into Realigner Red, a power-crazed maniac hellbent on destruction. The android came to Namek and destroyed the planet, and the Earthlings were unable to help due to Realigner Red's overwhelming power."
Toma was a little annoyed recounting the tale. How he hadn't been able to come to Namek to assist... it was maddening! It agitated him to no end. If only he could've helped.. "Eventually, the people of Earth rose up and managed to eradicate all traces of the Realigner Red virus from the world. Vi-poi was restored to his former state, and gathered seven mystical orbs on Earth and used their power to undo the damage he'd done to Namek. That's why this planet is in tact today." He said, recounting the day he'd seen the dragon -- if only from a distance. He hadn't wanted to interfere with their wish.
"That is the reason I have come to Namek. With the planet having been restored and my taking position of leader of the Turtle School, I want to assist in training the warriors of this world. Namek was left unable to defend itself during Realigner Red's attack, and the last thing I want is for Namek to be unable to defend itself again. Namekians live here, and Namekians should be able to band together to defend their home. That's how I look at it."
Opening his eyes once more, he'd unfold his arms, his left arm bending and moving to place his palm upon his hips. His right arm moved as he spoke, his arms emphasizing his points. "Is that a sufficient explanation?"

Shemha listened as Toma was nice enough to explain this Realigner Red to her or Vi-Poi as he was now known. The events of Namek’s destruction were unknown to her, but back then she made a point to avoid such situations. In her mind, there was little good that could come out of getting involved with something on such a large scale. Always under the radar, even now, she made an effort to remove herself from these situations. However, the more she learned about Namek’s past and with her ties to the Empire, it was unlikely that she would avoid any conflict that was to come.
Seven magical orbs? Dragon Balls like the ones on Namek? So recently having found out the spheres existed, Shemha was given proof of their potent magical power. According to Toma, they possessed the power to bring back an entire planet along with lost lives. During her conversation with Accordio she expressed her concern for such power falling into the wrong hands and if they could undo something so vast…what couldn’t they do?
The story did make her wonder though, what were the relations between Namek and Earth? The planet was restored and likely the majority of its people, but the fact remained this Vi-Poi remained at large on Earth. He hadn’t been brought to trial to stand for his crimes? Virus or not, he was at fault. To let him simple be pardoned because of a malfunction was akin to letting a murderer go free because he “acted in a blind rage.” If Shemha was the one to make the choice, Vi-Poi would have answered for his crimes regardless.
Aware of the tense relationship between Vegeta and Earth, she had to assume that the people of Namek shared a similar view to be such close allies. The next time she spoke with the Guru she would definitely bring this up. Either way, Accordio’s desire to wish for a guardian for the planet was not unfounded. In very recent years Namek and her people had suffered at the hands of others. She would do what she could to make sure it didn’t happen again.
Deep down though she wondered what this was all for. All this violence and destruction didn’t seem to get anyone anywhere. Who gained from this? So inactive in her role as a soldier of the Empire, Shemha realized that the time for inaction was over. With her new found connection to others, she found a strange drive to be a power for change. What sort of change was yet to be determined, but she felt she was done being a bystander.
When Toma finished the short tale and asked if that was sufficient enough, Shemha was quick to incline her head. Her lack of knowledge in so many areas was fading as she gathered information from powerful and influential individuals. Still, this was a Universe of give and take, something she understood.
”Yes, thank you Toma. Please forgive me for being so naïve, but I appreciate the retelling. If I may be so selfish though, I would like to ask one more question. These spheres on Earth…are they referred to as Dragon Balls?” Shemha asked, wanting to make sure she hadn’t assumed incorrectly. If he revealed that to be the truth of it a small nod would follow. Perhaps when she had time a trip to Earth would do her well. A few things needed investigating.
”In the interest of being fair feel free to ask anything you wish of me. I have nothing to hide or if you wish, we can test each other in combat. It isn’t every day that a Master requests to engage with me, how can I refuse?” She added with a small, almost playful smile spread across her lips. Formal and well mannered, Shemha still loved a good fight. Especially one she stood to gain from.

The girl listened to his tale without speaking a word -- that was good. A good student payed attention when their master spoke, and was always willing to take advice -- traits this Majin was already showing. To be honest, should she ask for him to train her, he’d be more than happy to do so. She was strong, he could feel, and was mature, polite, and had a good head on her shoulders. He doubted she would misuse his teachings from his first impression of her, though he’d also known other good men who’d fallen to the darkness within their own hearts… It worried the Turtle Hermit, really. To know that even the most noble of hearts could fall to evil. One always had to keep their convictions strong, indomitable. Only when they truly held onto their beliefs would they not stray from their path. That is what Toma felt.
She thanked him for the story, and Toma nodded in response due to her still talking. When she asked of the Dragon Balls, Toma raised an eyebrow. Why had she wanted to know of those? Though he had been fairly specific when he spoke of them, he supposed. WIth this being the Namekian home world, it should’ve come to no surprise that this Majin would know of the wish granting balls that had saved the universe twice. Toma nodded once more, before speaking. “Indeed. Though, Earth’s Dragon Balls are no longer functioning. They have faded with the death of the Namekian that had created them.” He said, thinking of Scargot, the first Kami of Earth. It was strange -- Toma had trained Scargot, who had gone on to train Bing. And now Bing was far stronger than either of them. Truly, Bing was a prodigy of a fighter that Toma wanted to fight on even ground with some day.
When Shemha asked if Toma had anything else to add, Toma declined, shaking his head. No, he didn’t have anything else he wanted to ask of her, at least not at the moment. Their battle had been delayed far too long in their opinion, and Toma wanted to get on with it. He’d smile, before speaking. “I would like to ask you a few things, after the match, though. I’d like to test your skills before we talk further, if that’s all right.” Toma bent his knees, and jumped back, distancing himself from the Majin before bending his knees forward, his right arm coming forward and bending upwards, his fingers locked in a hook like state, his other arm bent perpendicularly behind him.
“Come, Shemha! Test yourself against the might of the Turtle Hermit!” Toma shouted, waiting for Shemha to make her move.

So Earth possessed its own set of Dragon Balls or at the very least it had at one point. With that confirmed the Majin logged the information away. When she returned there, and she figured she would at some point, Shemha planned to look into it. How had she been so naïve for this long to not catch wind of these obscenely powerful spheres? Then again, they were likely kept in the whispers and soft conversations of those who knew of their existence. The more people that knew about them, the more chances one would carry malicious intent.
Back to the matter at hand, her own small nod indicated that she understood he would rather save his questions until after her tested her in combat. Normally not one to engage with another she just met and with so little background ties, she simply could not refuse the offer of a Master such as Toma. However, there was one little suggestion she wished to make before blows were exchanged.
He was clearly excited to see what she was capable of; the speed at which he sank into a stance did not diminish the grace in which he did it. With the practiced stance of the master he claimed to be, Shemha felt bad when she voiced her small request, but in her mind it was more than justified.
”Of course, Master Toma, but I must request we return to my ship in order to do so. Namek is a wonderful world, full of beauty and I would hate to see it disrupted by our engagement. My ship possesses its own gravity chamber capable of handling the power I am sure both of us can harness. By fighting there we can save this area or any other from potential collateral damage. If you are willing, I can lead the way.” Shemha offered with yet another polite incline of her head. After all she was asking his permission to move the session.
If he were to accept, Shemha’s still damp form would take to the air. With her ship not that far off it would be an easy feat to guide him to it and as a plus side, all of that whipping wind as she flew would work to dry her still dripping figure.

At the womans request, Toma lost his balance, comically nearly falling flat on his face, only to catch himself at the last minute and right himself! He was still squatted, of course, but now he was facing her instead. His right harm hung relaxed from his shoulder, his left arm rising and rubbing the back of his head as he closed his eyes, smiling nervously, a few sweat drops beading upon his face. "O-Of course! I knew that! I was testing you! Yes, of course!" Toma joked, knowing full well he'd had no idea of Shemha's plans. Though it was a good point, Toma couldn't argue that. So of course he'd be happy to assist her! This would be a great fight, he felt. Plus, he hadn't gravity trained in a while, so this would be a good start.
Toma blasted off after her, following her to her ship.
