Hey all! I've gotten my school, so I figure now's a good time to get all the details squared away so we can add it to the Lords and Teachers section in a separate post.
I'd like to introduce you to:
The Serpent School
History: (Warning! It's a bit long)
In Age 2700, the Cobra School is born. It is a mildly popular martial art, based on quick, precision strikes, as well as a bit of trickery here and there. Though nothing of note comes from the schools inventor, two students who enroll in Age 2750, Tang Gan and Zi Wan, take the practices of the school to heart long after it shuts down. After they become adults, they wed, creating the Serpent School during their honeymoon. Not many students show up at first, but when Tang comes fourth in the Tenkaichi Budokai, some people take notice.
A handful of worthy students flock to the newly created dojo, each looking to prove their worth to the fourth strongest man in the world (they would have gone to the world champion, but he was busy being famous and filthy rich). The entrance process is tough, meaning only the strongest make it past even the first hour, let alone the first day. Eventually, Tang finds four worthy disciples, making them the first to ever complete Tang's training fully. He deems them proper Serpent Masters, and allows them to explore the world as they see fit, honing their skills and sharing their prowess with their own students. These four students live to this day, but have faded into obscurity...
With few students able to pass the entrance exams, the Serpent School quickly loses the traction it had gained. Some call them a "scam", while others are simply too afraid to try. Spirits low and tempers high, Tang and Zi's tutelage slowly loses effectiveness, lowering their influx of students even further. One day Tang lashes out at the weakest of his newest recruits in blind fury, accidentally ending their life with a simple Ki attack. Disgraced, Tang and Zi disappear from the public eye completely, using their savings to relocate to a small island in the south. They build a new dojo, and live in solitude. The Serpent School fades into obscurity in Age 2786, 2 years after Bing has been born.
Though the couple bickers constantly, they are somewhat happy on their small island. They care for their child, deciding that he will begin training on the eve of his 12th birthday. Before that day comes, however, a second child is born; A little baby girl named Mian. After her birth, Zi grows distant for reasons unknown. In the middle of the night, Zi runs off with her child, never to be seen again.
Tang, now without spouse, grows more furious by the day. He begins Bing's training early, starting off by dropping his child into the ocean whilst he slept to see if he could figure out how to get home without dying. Bing succeeds in returning home, and the training begins.
Years later, during the week before Bing's 18th birthday, the energy of something that would later be known as a Super Saiyan can be felt around the world for the first time. The mind-shattering power terrifies Tang, causing him to push Bing even harder to make sure his son can survive against such an ominous and monstrous threat. In the coming weeks, Bing is given his final test, in which he is forced to kill his father, and is bestowed the mantle of Serpent Master. He accepts gracefully, going on to do great things across the galaxy.
One year later, Bing has finally experienced enough for him to feel it proper to re-open the Serpent School.
Dogi:
The signature Gi of the Serpent School is one of a light green color, with a dark undershirt serving as either weighted gear or simply an extra piece to the outfit. The wrist-guards can also serve as weights, should the wearer request it.
Techniques:
Bing's school teaches the following three techniques:
[N1] Serpent's Bite: The signature technique of the Serpent School. The user cups their hands in front of their chest, creating an emerald green orb of Ki in the center. Once the attack is fully charged, they thrust their hands forwards, releasing a swirling beam of green energy, lead by a crackling orb of Ki. If the user upgrades this to an MP3, the head of the beam is replaced by what looks like a Snake's head, ready to bite down on its foe.
[SU1] Afterimage: A symbol of the "trickery" that the Cobra School was once known for, Afterimage allows the user to increase their speeds to immense proportions, becoming invisible to the naked eye, whilst leaving an image of themselves behind. The first tier uses 100% of the users PL to attempt to dodge an attack.
[SPECIAL] Boomslang: A variation on the Serpent's Bite invented by Bing himself. Instead of charging the technique with both hands, he raises his right hand to chin level, bracing his wrist with his free hand. Once he gathers enough energy, he'll fire the crackling orb of emerald Ki at a foe. Should the foe avoid it, they'd find themselves hounded by the technique! Charges at 100% per turn, capping at 300%. This technique homes in on a target twice, meaning they have to dodge three times to successfully avoid it.
That's about it! I'd love some feedback on the special (I've already gotten approval from Vi, but it never hurts to get more thoughts.)
I'd be open to changing the charging speed to something like 75% with a 225% cap, but that seems too weak. Gets countered by even a 66% barrier pretty easy imo.
