Marautis
Species: Alien - Sub-Species of Zoonamite native to Planet Earth.
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance: Humanoid figure with aqua blue, leathery looking skin (not scales). Body is covered in tiny pores too small to be seen by the naked eye but allow for absorption of oxygen out of water for a time limit of up to 6 hours (dependent on environment). Gills on the neck that allow for absorption of oxygen in water, thus Marautis is amphibious to a certain degree but requires a wet environment (marine or freshwater) or at least high humidity environments in order to breathe and therefore survive. Marautis has a tall slender build (approx 190 cm) that's hydro-dynamic in shape to facilitate streamlined movement in the water. He has a somewhat muscular physique allowing him to powerfully swim through water at high speeds. On land his movement is less orthodox but not dissimilar to that of a humans. Marautis' feet are webbed however (still with five toes) as this provides him with his main source of propulsion in the water. His hands are not and resemble the hands of a human, four fingers and one thumb on each hand. Marautis does not have hair anywhere on his body but possesses small streamlined fins on his forearms and lower legs which can be retracted internally when locomotion occurs on land. His eyeballs have various layers of protective lenses that not only protect and conserve moisture in his eye but can change according to available light levels to maximise Marautis' vision to a certain degree in darker waters and bright land environments.
History: Marautis is a sub-species of Zoonamite native to Planet Earth. His specific sub species migrated to Planet Earth hundreds thousands of years ago after a devastating attack on their home planet that not only destroyed their home planet but sent the entire surviving populous scattering across the universe to settle elsewhere. This species of Zoonamite have lived on Earth since early civilisation began but lived solely in the Planets oceans. They are not known to most humans and prefer to live independently away from the human race. They have been sighted on rare occurrences and are portrayed in commonplace myths and folklore on Earth as mermen or in tales like the "lost city of atlantis", ect. They populate practically every ocean on Earth and hide at great depths mostly to avoid interaction with other species, only coming up to shallower waters to feed on fish and other sea organisms. They are rarely preyed upon by anything else in the ocean as they live at too greater depth for most predators and can out swim anything else. Zoonamites on Earth established basic hunter-gatherer civilisations often living in hollowed out crevices and caves in the ocean. Marautis' particular tribe lived in the Earths southern oceans but became extinct due to over fishing by the human population. Marautis was a last ditch effort to try and ensure the tribes survival. In their final days at the time of Marautis' birth, his parents constructed a biologically stable egg (practically a womb) in which to place their son. The egg provided a stable internal environment safe from predation that could intake nutrients in the water around it to feed their son and help him grow. Eventually this egg would cease to function and break down naturally at a time when Marautis was at an age to finally be able to be fend for himself and continue the survival of his tribe. Marautis has a basic innate sense of how to survive, hunt, fight, ect. He does not speak any form of language but can communicate telepathically with natural beings around him. Marautis however has no memory of his parents or why he was sent out in an egg into the ocean.
