Raisu cracked his knuckles. How to explain? He'd never been on the reaching side of this kind of relationship before. It was hard to find the words. Maybe it would be best if gave him a simple example of what Raisu was referring to. Raisu held up his hand and slowly gathered a small yellow ball of ki in it. It was glowing softly, not raging like some did.
"Okay, this is the most basic manifestation of ki," explained Raisu as he held out his hand for Trey to look at it. It had taken Raisu a few tries to get it his first time, but it came easily enough. Briefly, he wondered if that had anything to do with the Saiyan blood in his veins and that it might be harder for a pure blooded human. Perhaps, perhaps not. He'd find out in time.
"So, what you're going to want to do is like... Focus, if that makes sense. Like, just kind of will it into your hand. The first time you do it, you'll probably have to think real hard about it, but it gets way easier, I promise."
Raisu sighed. Was he explaining it right?
"Also, try not to get frustrated. It makes it a lot harder at first. Just kind of reach into some deeper part of you and will your essence outward."

Light. Energy. Raisu was holding energy in a physical form, and it reminded him of something an old friend told him about. He had attempted to manifest ki after his friend described it, but ended up dismissing it as a fantasy.
He shook his head and realized there was no difference been fantasy and reality anymore. That barrier had been shattered the moment he met Raisu.
Ignoring his other senses, he focused only on the feeling in his palm. He struggles to keep himself from getting distracted, but in the end he can't form anything. His body is too tense.
He stops after a moment in an attempt to calm himself down a little more. He felt a slight tingle in his fingertips right before he called it quits.
"I felt it. It's just beyond my reach. What about you? How did you learn?"

Raisu's face twisted to an expression of thought. How to explain? It wasn't a particularly odd story, though the circumstances surrounding it might be construed as improbable. Raisu considered it a moment and was floored when he realized that he'd really only come in contact with the woman who taught him by chance. Something as simple as him taking a left instead of a right that day could have changed his entire life, probably for the worse.
"Well," he began, "I started when I was like... 10 or 12, around there. I met this lady after I kind of ran away from home. And by 'ran away from home', I mean I made it a few blocks before I started crying. So, she convinced me to go home, while promising to show me ki manipulation. Uhh, yeah. That's it. I was kind of bad kid, so she made me do all this self-reflection stuff."
Raisu scratched the back of his head and laughed, memories of the past coming back to him.
"But yeah, I'm not gonna make you do any of that. I don't think I'm qualified to do that much."
Raisu looked at Trey, both with his eyes and his mind's eye. Raisu could feel the ki struggling inside him. Almost there, he thought.
"But, here's my advice: think about something that invokes really strong emotions. Not frustration, 'cause that's bad when you're first starting. But something like happieness, sadness. Even anger. That's different from frustration. Just a strong emotion."

Treylech shook his head in response. "I'm not gonna run away from home and start crying. Don't worry," he said with a smirk. He held his hand back out and set his attention back to that.
A powerful memory? He didn't have too many, but he had one that would work.
It didn't anger him, but he recalled blood on his hands. His friend Sekumara laying in a pool of his own blood.
It hurt, and Treylech knew he was responsible, but he hadmade a huge mistake that couldn't be changed.
The only person he could blame was himself for the botched bank robbery. It was a powerful failure that he regret more than anything.
It fueled him. His fingers tingled and sparked as green electricity crackled around his fingers before turning yellow and partially forming. He focused on the pain from that day and the energy in his hand as it stabilized.
He remembered his friend's words to keep moving forward and held out the blast victoriously.
"Nailed it."

Raisu nodded. That was good, very good. He was certainly moving forward. Of course, Raisu reminded himself, that was only the first step of many. But Trey was already more than human. The rest would come naturally to him. At least Raisu thought so. He'd been right about people before, though.
"Nice," he said, "I think you're on the fast track. You certainly got it quicker than I did."
Raisu reached out to pat him on the back. Raisu was proud of the guy, regardless of the circumstances of which they met. He was a nice guy. Hopefully he'd stay that way. Power could corrupt, but Raisu didn't think anything bad would come of it.
"You made some good progress, though I think it might be time to call it a day. Gotta give your arms times to heal, yeah?"

Was it luck? No. Was it skill? Maybe.
Treylech wondered what actually pushed him. The blast flickered for a moment before the energy dispersed. He hesitated. It's like his body had unlocked a portion of some ancient secret.
His energy fluctuated wildly for a few seconds before settling. A grin crossed his face. It was a grin of confdence.
"You were only 10 to 12 years old when you learned." He adjusts his posture a little bit. "This feels so different. My body feels so much easier to control."
He thinks for a moment. His arms sting as soon as they're brought up. Rest was definitely a necessity. "Rest. Yeah... That sounds pretty nice."

Raisu nodded. That would settle that. Raisu grinned at him again, glad that he could have been of service. He could get used to this teaching thing. It wasn't that hard, or at least Raisu thought so. Tsu Kini better watch out, thought Raisu, before long he might be the better teacher. And dogs might fly, too. That was a long ways off for Raisu, teaching anybody properly.
"Alright, man, good job today. We'll have to figure out when to do this again. But, until then, just keep practicing. And maybe experiment a little. Might do you some good."

"Now I just need to find some place to rest."
He didn't have a home to return to. He usually scaled a building and tucked away somewhere on the roof. It wasn't his first choice of rest spot, but it was better than sleeping in the alleyways.
He glanced at the buildings around him, but all of them had tapered roofs and no place to relax comfortably. "I may have to ferry back to the mainland and rest back in West City."
It seemed to be the best option. South City was nice, but West City had the best buildings to rest on.

"I can give you a lift if you want."
Raisu could give Treylech a lift back to the mainland. Unless of course Trey were several tonnes heavier than he appeared. But, if that were the case, he might be trapped here regardless.
"Hell, I can even let you crash at my place for a while if you need to."
It wasn't as if Raisu was there all the time anyway. Just the occasional bout of training brought him by his own home.

"Not trying to sound bad, but you just caught me stealing. Well....you also showed you can find me when I hide and you can beat me in a fight..."
Treylech had no intention to steal from Raisu regardless, but the situation was amusing to him. He shook his head. "Never mind. Thank you. If you could take me there, that would be awesome."
He owed so much to Raisu now. He wanted to get some rest so he could go back to training.

"Hey, what can I say? I got a big heart. It'll probably kill me someday, but hey. Treat others how you want to be treated, right?"
And with that, Raisu nodded and grabbed Trey beneath the arms. He wasn't heavy, not really. It'd be easy to carry him to his beachside house. Hell, they weren't even that far away. He could be there quickly enough. Poor Trey, however, might not find flying so fun when one is being suspended in air. Not that Raisu would ever drop someone. And if he did, it'd be easy to rush and catch them. Maybe he'd drop Trey just to give him a scare... No, that'd be mean.
"Ready for liftoff!"
And with that, Raisu burst into the air, holding on to Trey. He'd take it slow, but not too slow. He had to give his passenger a rush.
(And do you want to call that a thread? I'll take zeni if so.)

(Yeah. Good stopping point. I'll shoot for power level this time around.)
