[PL:4,393]
A floppy eared and stubby tailed zoanthrope stepped down the dirt path of the large mountain. Taking in the view down the side of the slop, swaths of trees and bushes, streams flowing into rivers and at points dropping off into waterfalls of beauty. He stopped for a moment to step towards the edge of the path and took it all in as his eyes scanned the horizon.
Minutes later the dog had made it much further down the road a more shallow slope surrounding Chili. A cluster of large trees to his side. A stone statue can be seen just peering out from within the bark of a gnarled timber. Shaped like a large cat, ears pointed upwards and a cane within his paw. The statue must be extremely old considering the tree had grown all around it. Chili stepped towards it and brushes his paw across the surface of the statue, tearing away some overgrown moss and vines.
Stepping back the zoanthrope turned back to the path and stepped across it finding a large flatter section in the mountain with rolling hills. Open fields that ever so descend down into a river and continuing on just a bit further. Suddenly a large gust of wind rips up a chime in the air and leaves fluttering past the dog boy.
Then the wind grabs the back of his father's cap and lifts it right off his head. The dog boy looks up surprised as his hat quickly flies away down the bumpy field and towards the flowing water. Chili suddenly sprinting after it just behind his hat as it's taken away. Leaping up at it in desperation as he grunts out "Stupid wind! That's my hat!" his eyes locked upwards to the sky as he abruptly feels his boot connect with a buried rock and he falls flat to the ground face planting into the dirt. The wind ending and his hat descending from the air and landing on the ground in front of him.
The dog boy sits up and rubs his face trying to make the pain of his rough landing subside "Ow".

[Thread PL: 134,516. Heavy weights on. Weighted PL: 33,629)
Raisu wiped the sweat from his brow as he continued up the trail of Mount Paozu. It was quite lovely this time of year. Not that he had ever been to the mountain before. This was his first time climbing the mountain, which was odd, given how he had grown up not too far from here. But of course, his childhood had been a sheltered one. Very rarely had he left the few city blocks that made up his world as a child. Even more rarely did he leave the city itself. And that is how he lived for years. But now, he’d been on the road for well over a year and seen more in the past few months than he ever had before. Raisu had decided it was finally time to see the wonders of the south for himself. He’d gone east when he left home, electing to ignore the sights of his home region. But now Raisu was back again. The end is the beginning, and all that pseudo-wisdom nonsense.
Somewhere in the distance, a ki signature brushed off his mind. A strong one, at least in comparison to the average human. Perhaps it would be wise to see who was out and about. The last time he’d gone mountain climbing, Raisu had met the mountain hermit Tomare. Now that had been an interesting encounter, one that Raisu blushed to remember. One never knew what they might encounter in the wild. But whatever it was, it was sure to be interesting. Thankfully, it seemed the signature was just up the path from him. Or down the path. Whichever way, really, as he’d lost his sense of direction as he admired the surroundings. Raisu quickened his pace, intending to catch up with the signature quickly.
And eventually, the source of the energy came into view. A young boy, and a beast person as well. Interesting. He’d not run into one since Ibby, Chaz’s catperson friend. And it was as he came into view that the wind picked up, lifting the hat from the beastfolk’s head, much to his dismay. Raisu sighed as the boy fell to the ground face first, as he tried to reach for his hat. At least the boy was lucky enough to have it fall in front of him. Raisu jogged up to the boy, coming up beside him.
“Hey, you okay?”

Chili looked up in the direction of the voice finding a red haired man. He hadn't seen him on his trip round the mountain until now, really the dog boy had thought he was up here on his own. He rubbed his paw across his aching nose and nodded his head. "Oh, Uh yeah I'm okay.... you saw that huh?" he asked. Suddenly he remembered his hat turning back to where it had landed and leaping up jumping on his hat making sure it didn't move anywhere else.
Picking it up and brushing it off before placing it snugly back onto his head. He looked back up at the man "I'm uh not usually that clumsy. I just really didn't want to lose my hat". Stepping back towards the young man he looked him over noticing he looked pretty strong from a physical point of view. "I'm Chili. I didn't think anyone else was up on this mountain besides me."

Raisu nodded. He had indeed saw that. At least he was okay, thought Raisu. A fall could really hurt. But, somehow, Raisu doubted it would be serious damage anyway. The boy was, of course, of a quite large power level. He'd sensed that much before.
The boy leapt to his feet, carefully replacing his hat. He must really like that hat, thought Raisu. Not that he blamed him. Raisu himself really liked his jacket. Everyone had things they were attached to. Raisu nodded as he spoke.
"Yeah, I can understand that."
And then he introduced himself: Chili. An interesting name, one he'd be sure to remember. Raisu rarely forgot anyone these days. Call it a trait of the traveler. He was just good with remembering people. People he liked, people he hated... People he wanted to grind to dust. No, he thought. That's violent. Best not to act on impulse or think about things that upset him.
"Nice to meet you, Chili," Raisu said as he extended a hand for a handshake, "The name's Raisu. And you're right. I didn't expect to run into anyone else today."

Chili took the hand offered into his own paw and gave it a shake. He raises an eyebrow as he asked. "So... Can I ask why you're up on this mountain?" His tail wagged a bit as he continued "I'm training actually yep. On a Grand Journey that's why I'm here." He brushed his thumb across his nose like he was the coolest person alive.
"My Master always told me that a place of nature can help you connect with all the energies in the universe. So I thought to myself why not a mountain?" Chili posed a bit and set his hands on his hips. "So yeah that's why you came across me up here."
The wind rushed up again as Chili looked so cool, but that was shattered when the same wind caught his hat once again. Though he was able to grab it just before it flew off his head.

Why was Raisu up on this mountain? A good question, he thought. One he would love to answer himself. Of course, he just liked to travel. But then the dogfolk said something that made him think. He was on his own grand journey? And for training too? Well, it seemed that the two of them were kindred spirits. Interesting that he'd meet someone like himself by chance.
"Well, your master is right. Being in tune with nature is a very... fulfilling thing. Really helps with training."
Raisu grinned awkwardly. It wasn't the best way to frame it, but it was the way it came out. As somebody who quite enjoyed being out and among nature, he could certainly see the value in it. But why was he out here? He hadn't come out here for training.
"But me? Um, I'm not really sure honestly. Just hiking really."
But he should be training, damn him. There were still Saiyans on Earth. The wind fluttered and pulled at Raisu's hair and jacket. And more noticeably, it caught the boy's hat. Luckily for him, the dogfolk reached out and snatched quick as can be.
"Nice reflexes, bud. You do a lot of training?"

The dog nodded his head quickly at the question and pepped up even more. "Yeah tons! I'm trying to get stronger. At least as strong as I can." The dog crosses his arms in front of him. "Besides my master though I haven't found anyone who can really help me. I've beaten a few people here and there who are usually up to no good. I don't think those guys were that strong though so it didn't help me much."
Chili leaned forward his arms splayed out "But you train right? Do you do martial arts? What school?!" the dog had a sudden rush of questions pour out of his muzzle. He blushed and leaned back again. "Sorry I really haven't met anyone else who I hadn't been a student with. At least not after I left. I know there are tons of fighting techniques and my master really only focuses on his own style."
He rested his chin in his paw "Like the guys who fight with energy balls and stuff! I've seen some of that stuff around. People who can fly too. All that stuff is so cool!" the pup gushed.

Raisu took note of what he said. So he fought bandits and the like? Interesting, thought Raisu. What was strange was how young he seemed. Now, Raisu was not the best at gauging the age of the beastfolk, but from his stature and voice, he certainly seemed to be young. Younger than Raisu at least. Man, he thought, kids are starting younger and younger these days. Part of him wished he had left home sooner.
The beastboy asked if Raisu himself trained. Raisu nodded and opened his mouth to speak, planning on answering each of his questions in turn. The kid certainly seemed exciteable, with was a good thing. It was always nice to have a passion. Raisu had his, and it drove him. Whatever works for him, he figured.
"Yeah, I train," he began, "But, uh, school? Don't really have one. I just kinda practice, learning as I go along."
Raisu scratched the back of his head and grinned.
"Hey, no worries. You wouldn't be the first to ask me questions like this."
Raisu raised an eyebrow at the mention of energy. Oh, he'd seen ki manipulation before? It shouldn't surprise Raisu, really. It seemed everyone could do it these days. Makes sense that most people had seen it.
"Oh, you mean ki manipulation. It's not hard, just takes some practice."
As if to demonstrate his point, Raisu jumped into the air and floated there, looking down on the beastfolk boy.
"See?"

An audible gasp could be heard from Chili's muzzle as the young man floated into the air. "Holy wow!" shouted the dog boy as he witnessed flight in person for the first time. "That's incredible!" he crouches down onto his knees and reaches under the Raisu's feet. "Ki manipulation?"
He stood back up and walked around the young man. "How do you even manipulate your Ki? Is it like transformation? Cause I can sorta do that." He stood back in front of him. "I mean I know Ki is your energy. Master said it's what gives us strength and the like but we never learned how to manipulate it. Heck I didn't even know you could!"
The dog's stubby tail wagged behind him. "So that's where those attacks come from. Literally made from energy! I never thought of that!" The dog boy seemed very excited about the possibilities of this discovery.

The boy seemed excited, and a wide grin grew on Raisu's face. Raisu always did enjoy showing off like this. Of course, what he could do was more than mere party tricks. No, what he could do was a bit more fantastical. Stangely enough, the young zoanthrope seemed already versed in the idea of what ki was, just not completely.
"Yeah, it's pretty neat. But is it like, uh, transformation? Um..." Raisu spoke as he floated back down to the ground. What did the boy mean by that? Was what he suggested akin to the oozaru transformation that Raisu had come to know, or something else entirely? He couldn't say for sure.
"Well, how to describe how to do it? Uh. You just kind of will it to take form and stuff. It's like... weird, hard to describe. You know, the person who taught me once said that it's a little different for everyone."
Raisu shrugged and looked at the boy once more. He hummed to himself, thinking.
"So, what's this transformation you're talking about? Like, it suprises me that you can't manipulate ki already."

Chili nodded his head "Well uh, well beastfolk like me we can... some of us can transform into different forms and shapes and stuff. I kinda can..." the dog boy looked up and around at their surroundings, eyeing up a tree. "Let me just show you maybe, cause this is the kind of fighting I learned from my master."
Stepping away from Raisu and approaching the tree the dog boy would spread his legs gaining a sure footing in the dirt. A look of determination crossing his face as he wheeled back an arm his muscles tightening in his back. His arm springs forward chopping at the tree. A glint reflecting off his hand for a moment as it whisks through the air the sound of the wind being sliced in two is heard. His hand now appearing on the other side of the trunk as leafs flutter down from high above. The tree then slides down the angled cut trunk and falls to the side crushing the foliage below a clean slice through it's many wooden rings.
Chili turns towards Raisu once again waving his arm and at the end his limb a paw that resembled an axe blade. "See like this? I can turn into an axe... sorta. I'm supposed to channel a weapon with my transformation. But I can't become a complete axe, but that's okay." The dog grinned broadly and his tail wagged excitedly. "So I think what you're talking about must be like that, cause you kinda have to feel it inside you."

Raisu whistled as he watched the transformation. Impressive. Most impressive. He'd never seen anything quite like that, though it did not really surprise him. Everyone had strange talents, and that was one of the tamer things he had seen. Most things seemed tame after one had watched a murderous monster literally suck the life out of an innocent person. But still, it was quite the nice talent the young beastfolk had there.
"I see. Yeah, it must be kind of like that. Very cool," Raisu said as he looked at the boy. They started so young these days. Which was good, but it really was a gateway to a dangerous lifestyle. Hopefully, this kid could handle himself. He seemed pretty strong, but he was still a kid. How many stupid mistakes did Raisu make when he was his age? A lot, he seemed to rememember.
"Yeah, it seems like you got it figured out. You just kinda need to apply it somewhere else. Like flying or something."

Chili posed for a bit feeling pretty gosh dang smart for figuring that out on his own. He leaned towards the pink jacketed young man and raised his eyebrows. "So what else is there to it? Like how do you kinda... uhm." the pup stroked his chin. "How do you harness it? That's it. How do you harness it?" He jumped a bit and clenched his fists pulling his arms close to his body. "Could you show me maybe? It would be super neat to learn how to fly. I mean I could skip the stairs all the time then!" shouted the over enthused dog.
He turned a bit and rested his chin back into his paw "Mom would be super impressed too!"

Raisu had to admire the kid's enthusiasm. It rememinded him of himself back in the day. Ki was an exciting prospect for a young kid, though not everyone had the talent or dedication to master it. Still, this kid clearly had some capacity for the ki arts. Maybe if Raisu could just explain it well enough...
"Okay," he began, "I'm gonna show you. It's a pretty simply concept."
Raisu raised his hand and began to gather a small ball of white ki in it.
"Okay, like so. Really focus your will on a spot and try to imagine all your energy moving to that spot. It's all about willpower. And hey, it's not really all that different from what you do with your axe hands."

The pup nodded his head vigorously and sat right there in the path observing his new master. He watched as Raisu formed a ball of energy center in his palm.
Gasping a bit the canine thrust out his own paw. His eyes narrow in concentration as he looks at his digits. His brain buzzing with the idea of energy flowing into his body. Swirling around inside him and reaching every limb, circulating in a system of power and stability. Traversing his body from his stubby tail to his furry toes, up his outstretched arm.
The young dog's hand gains an edge ever so slightly, his transformation kicking in automatically in reflex to the similar methods. However it quickly disperses back to fur as his mind focuses on forming a sphere. A miniature sun glowing in his paw. "Focus! Fooocuuuss!" his brain seemed to chant.
