Chai was feeling a... multitude of emotions. Captain Nova's words of wisdom left lasting impressions on Chai, and he found himself lulling quite over a few things now. Earlier, Chai had brought Cloud's unconscious form to his home yet again, laying the destructive hybrid's unconscious form on the living room's couch. A few snacks had been placed on the coffee table as well, coupled with a cup of chai tea. While Cloud was unconscious, the zoanthrope on the outside porch by the Baozi River flowing outside of their home, flipping through a tattered green journal.
This journal was one of the few things he ended up bringing here from his universe. Intricate plans and blueprints dotted the journal- one of which was the very save universe-hopper the goatman used to come here in the first place. The zoan had clipped pictures and notes inside the book, some of his companions back from his world, observations about his realms' special forces, and general notes and commentary on the book's contents. Yet, all of these complex plans were gibberish to the Chai- whoever designed these things were leagues above the zoanthrope... If only the name on the first page hadn't faded out.
Chai sighed longingly, flipping the journal shut. Just looking at it brought up plenty of bad memories, but it was one of his only keys to get back home and save the world. Guardia, meanwhile, was in the living room near the couch Cloud's form was laid on, perched on a beanbag next to the sofa. The sword was intensely focused on his Baotendo Swap, currently playing through a boss level on the new Majin Bros game. HOOK, on the other hand, was in sleep mode. The giant drone rested in the nearby river, softly snoring. HOOK didn't get much action earlier when the forest was almost destroyed, much to the robot's own dismay...
HOOK's eyes flickered to life soon enough. Raising his head, the battle jacket's Threat Detection HUD quickly flashed across his vision. Cloud's power was starting to rise and stabilize again-- was he waking up? The robot's neck craned down to the window in the living room, condensation coursing across the glass when a puff of air rose from his nostrils. Peering through and trying to eye the boy while Guardia tapped away at his device and Chai headed back in as well to check on his guest, HOOK's eye would narrow once more. If the kid tried anything again, he was sure Chai wouldn't be as nice as before this time around- and neither would Guardia and himself.

-An Act of Kindness-
Edgy Teenager's PL: Cloud's PL: 14,397
In Bamboo Forest, there were reported signs of a teenager laughing hysterically and flying in the air. What's worse, the said "teenager" was planning on destroying the forest, obvious by the ki attack they were charging. At the time of the attempted destruction, animals, campers, and houses were still in Bamboo Forest. Because of this, it was only a matter of time before people came, which they did. Some tried to fight the boy, others tried to give mercy, and one of them resorted to knocking out the teenager. That teenager, was Cloud.
The whole event felt like months ago, but really, it was only a few days. Cloud lost track of time, mainly because he got knocked out. But, he didn't really know how to feel about it all. Sure, his plan of destruction was a complete failure and he lost to a flamboyant superhero. On top of that, he exposed his emotions to a GOAT! Of course Cloud was angry! He wanted them up all dead! "You sure about that?" A voice called out. Cloud looked up. Wasn't he unconscious? Then why was he hearing noises all of a sudden? The hybrid could only see darkness, nothing else. Only seconds later, he could see...himself?
The figure looked exactly like him, same clothes, same bandana, same hair. "W-What's going on?" "I'll make it quick. I'm the other "part" of you. Persona, if you will." Cloud stared in confusion, what does that even mean? "What do you mean persona? I don't have any sort of persona!" "Or so you thought. Remember Vail?" The name was a familiar one. When Cloud left his destroyed hometown, the first people he met was named...Vail. That's it! He had completely forgotten about his friend. They traveled the world together, they bonded alot. Before meeting Vail, Cloud never really had a friend, nor did anyone treat him with respect. Did he? Then, why did he suddenly forget all about Vail? Why did he forgot his name?!
Then, the realization suddenly snapped into Cloud's head. Almost like a light switch.. Vail died. There was a assassin who was aiming to kill Cloud, specifically. Vail got in the way of the assassin, so he ended up dying. If they hadn't become friends with Cloud, they wouldn't have gotten in the way! They wouldn't have died! Vail died because of Cloud! "You forgot about his death so you couldn't feel guilty, or hurt." "Shut up! You don't know who I am!" "I AM you. I know everything about you, Cloud. You didn't want to get hurt or feel the pain of losing a person close to you. So much so that you refuse to make any entirely." By now, the hybrid was getting annoyed. "You're not me! I'm above them all! I don't need to anyone to god damn comfort me! I don't need friends, hear me?!" "You're lying to yourself. You buried your old self, which is who I represent, deep inside yourself. Then you covered it with an egotistical persona, that persona being you. Just so you could avoid being hurt." Cloud could only be silent. "Admit it. You're afraid of real emotion. But avoiding emotion entirely will only end up hurting you in the long run."
Before Cloud could talk back, his vision started clearing. He was conscious again. So all of that really was just a dream, thought Cloud. Then, that means I was arguing...with myself? Since i was talking to "me" does that mean everything he said was true? The hybrid shook off the thought and looked around the location he was in. Before this he was knocked out right? So shouldn't he be in the forest? Or prison? No, the entire building was familiar to Cloud. The building seemed to be that of a cottage, there was food laid out on the table, and there was a strange odor that seemed to belong to that of a goat. Cloud knew where he was. He was in Chai's house.
The hybrid stood up, completely ignoring the sword next to him. He was attempting to run out of the house. Cloud din't care what his other persona said! He was going to stick to his gut! (and ego..) But just as he was about to run, the figure of Chai could be seen out of the window. If Cloud were to run now, the goat would surely be angry, even more than the last time they met. It was just a guess, but, Cloud was sure the zoanthrope wouldn't be as nice to him like before. The best thing to do was to just stay and endure Chai's attempt at pacifism. That or being caught by Chai, and potentially arrested or knocked out, again.
The hybrid sat back on the sofa, as if nothing happened. Just then, he noticed Guardia sitting on a beanbag near the sofa. Hopefully they hadn't seen Cloud attempt to escape. When Chai entered the room, the hybrid set his eyes on him before speaking, "So, what now goat? You going to make me a "good guy" again? Or what?" He leaned forward, grabbing a handful of chips and eating them. "You do know all of this is never going to work right?" Cloud said with his mouth full.

Chai's suspicions were confirmed- Cloud was indeed wide awake now. Earlier hastened footsteps had alerted the goatman. Chai glanced off to the side, biting his lip. As much as he wanted to help the hybrid, there was little doubt he was sick of Chai's pacifism already. The boy was quick to question the zoanthrope's motives, speaking of how it would never work. "Well, uh... Not exactly." Chai twiddled his thumbs, cheeks puffed out a little. "You, uh, remember what I said before-- right? I like to think I somewhat understand how you feel about all this, but..."
"Yeah. Being alone sucks. I get it. And sometimes, having friends sucks just as much." Chai glanced to the side. Looking out for all his friends back home was a huge weight on the zoanthrope's shoulders. Keeping their hopes high, their feet still moving, and keeping them alive- figuratively and literally. And when all of that was taken away... It hurt. Bad. "...I don't want anyone to suffer like I did. I don't want you, or anyone really, to feel that pain."
Chai sighed again, glancing at the opened door. Outside, the bamboo forests' stalks waved to and fro, the sky as blue as ever- there wasn't a cloud in the sky on this beautiful day. "...Kid, if you want to leave, I won't stop you. You're probably sick of me already." Chai forced a chuckle and a smile. Yet even that faded quickly, replaced with a tinge of doubt and... Fear? "If I can't help you... Then how can I help t--them..?" Chai found himself muttering, putting a hand over his mouth. Widened eyes stared at nothing in particular for a few moments before the zoan snapped back out of his war flashbacks and into reality.
'...Again, huh?' Guardia blinked, eyeing his partner in concern. He eyed Cloud, wondering what could make a person seek destruction to begin with. Back in the demon realm, Guardia loved to prank and mess with others, but he'd never wish death or destruction upon another. The same concept applied to many of those in their world. No matter how much either of them tried, neither Chai or Guardia could completely understand how and why someone would do such horrible things.
Chai continued to avert his gaze, a multitude of unpleasant emotions plastered on his face as memories resurfaced yet again from the depths of his tattered soul. He wanted to help everyone, and be their friends until the end, but... Chai knew that was a foolish, unattainable dream.
Yet that would never stop him from dumbly reaching for it anyways.

-An Act of Kindness- Cloud's PL: 14,397
After repeatedly munching on the chips, and furiously reaching for the crumbs, the slightly rebellious teenager turned his attention back towards the zoanthrope who was now only a few feet away from him. They still seemed to be determined on trying to befriend the hybrid, only this time their voice seemed less confident than before. Before, the goat had blabbered on and on as if there was no end. This time they seemed to be stuttering more often and there were more silences between each sentence. Perhaps they were starting to realize the whole effort of mercy was getting on Cloud's nerve. Which Cloud enjoyed. Less stupid attempts at pacifism being thrown his way was always a good thing.
All of Chai's words just entered one ear and came out the other as a mumbled mess. Everything they said was a simply a blur, that was until Cloud heard the words "You can leave if you want." His attention sprung up, along with his body, and he was all ears now. The goat uttered another sentence before simply murmuring to himself. Afterwards he just simply, stood, there. As if he was having some kind of disturbing memory or flashback. Though none of that mattered to the unemotional dickhead that was Cloud. He was intensely focused on the fact he could finally leave this dump! What's better, the sword seemed to not catch glimpse of Cloud's attempted escape just minutes before this! Though, that may be because Chai already knew about the attempt. Though, once again, those details didn't matter whatsoever to the boy!
"Well, you're right about one thing, I'm sick of you and this place already. If you don't mind me, I'll be taking my leave now! Have fun other people just like me.." The hybrid stood up, slightly slouched over, hands stuck in pockets. He walked around the goat and his barracuda-like robot to make his way to the exit. The boy continued walking until he was at the porch, and shot up in the air. Though, something was still aching inside him.. Sure Cloud felt happy he was finally away from the pacifist goat, though he also felt somewhat disappointed...in himself. The meeting with the goat, the potential friendship, it was all wasted entirely. And the boy may never see him again. He could sympathize with the goat, and all they said was true about feeling lonely. Though this could be the other side of Cloud talking, once again. And his rebellious side overshadowed the other, making him act and do choices he normally, wouldn't do. Though the reason why Cloud had that rebellious side in the first place was so he couldn't...get hurt again.. Or feel pain, emotions, loss, or the burden of losing a friend. It was a tangle of reasons that was too hard to explain, too hard for him to understand. Even so, Cloud could never admit this to himself..or to others. KP: 3/3 THREAD EXIT! Taking PL OOC: Hope you enjoy my failed attempts at making a deep character lol
