Name:
Agrio
Alias: Agi is the only nickname he's ever gone by.
Species:
Namekian
Gender:
Asexual, though technically Male.
Age:
Eight (when Namekians reach adulthood).
Appearance:
Agrio, both as a child and an adult.
History:
Agrio was hatched on New Namek and lived a fairly normal if sheltered life under the watchful eye of his village. Like most Namekian children he considered his entire village to be his family, and they all had a hand in raising him in some way or another. Although he never really made any friends his age which caused him to become withdrawn and reserved, it gave him a lot more time to think about what he wanted out of his life. After witnessing a funeral for a member of his village killed by hostile wildlife, he decided from a very young age that he wanted to grow up to be a protector and to keep his village safe. Due to this, he began ''training'' on his own (a term used lightly, he had no idea what he was doing). When this was witnessed by one of the village's warriors, he soon found himself being mentored by the older being alongside a large group of other children within his age group. While Agrio had trouble controlling his ki, he was one of the first out of the group to learn how to fly, and eventually became the most proficient at it among them. He spent time with his mentor learning about his people and about the world on which they lived, and when he wasn't off by himself training away from the others he was often performing tasks around his village to help in any way he could. Due to his talents in flight, he would often collect water or natural medicines for his village and when he became more confident in himself, even acted as a courier to deliver messages between several other villages surrounding his. Impressed by his drive and determination even though when it came to sparring he often lost, he began having private educational and martial arts lessons with his mentor which would strongly shape who he is today. He had many acquaintances by no real friends on New Namek, as much because of his own desire to keep it that way as it was his personality making him a somewhat strange person compared to the other children.
As he grew, his talents in combat began to manifest sharply. He would often take routine patrols of his own accord to keep his village safe, staving off dangerous animals with his bare hands. While he still couldn't reliably use ki, his talents in physical combat had grown to a surprising level compared to where he once stood. It was at this point his mentor allowed him to train by himself in matters of martial arts, but mentored him instead on manifesting and manipulating ki; it was a staple of the warrior caste, and if Agrio couldn't accomplish it he likely didn't have much of a future for the goal he'd set for himself. He was now able to regularly hold his own in sparring matches with the others, much to everyone else's surprise. He took on any task he could to help his fellow villagers and do his part, slowly working along the road to where he wanted to be. However, an interesting proposition arose one day shortly after he reached the age of seven; a tournament was to be held between the potential members of the warrior caste in the village, described as a competition that would not only test martial prowess, but also several other important factors that formed the backbone of what being a warrior stood for. Naturally, Agrio jumped at the chance to participate and was given a few more months to train and hone himself for the coming challenge. During this time he first manifested his ki in a form other than flight. When the day of the tournament came, he was surprised to find nobody fighting in a competition just yet.
Walking outside of the home he stayed in, he found a message pinned to the door which instructions to go and find a certain extremely rare medicinal herb in the wilderness, a task directly requested by the Elder of his village. Agrio had never heard of the particular plant before and when he took to the fields with flight, he could see many of his fellow pupils dotting the landscape below him gathering as much of whatever herb they could find. The majority of them stayed out in the wilderness long enough to justify making themselves a camp, and he awoke at night to the sound of combat from a neighboring camp not far from his. Thinking someone had been attacked by a wild animal, he quickly made his way over to help, only to see a group of three young students raiding a camp of two others to try and find the item they were all looking for. Agrio stepped in at the injustice and helped them beat back the trio, who strangely were nowhere to be found the next morning. Within another two day's time, an elder warrior from the village appeared and gathered them all near. Several pupils had been disqualified, and it was admitted the plant that they had been told to search for had long ago gone extinct and that they had been observed the entire time. Relieved that they were given a few days to rest, another week's worth of trials would come with more disqualifications before the announcement for the martial arts tournament had been declared. Agrio fought his way through the brackets and barely scraped by in a draw at the final match, and received word a few days later that he and most of the other participants had been selected for few months more of training to become warriors and eventually teach others as well.
The training was incredibly difficult but each participant managed to pass, and each of them were handed a small slip of paper they were asked to review with the village elder in private. Agrio's slip of paper had a strange term he'd only heard in passing conversation once or twice; ''Earth''. Meeting with his mentor and with his Elder, he was informed that the students who passed their trials were either to stay on Namek and act as protectors of the people, or they were given more special tasks. Some were sent to other planets, some were made teachers, but all of them received a very important duty. Agrio's task was to go to this place called Earth, a planet which apparently had long, long ago had a strong relationship with the Namekians in some way or form, a tale passed from Elder to Elder. He was to be sent on a search and rescue task for a Namekian pilot named Bana that had brought a good number of Namekian people to Earth not long ago, but never returned. He spent enough time until shortly after his eighth birthday learning what he could about Earth in order to make the deadline for the trip, and though he barely learned enough to get by, his withdrawn and reserved attitude would actually work to his advantage for once it seemed. He was launched in a pod to make the trip to Earth, and landed in a grassy clearing in the middle of nowhere at the trip's end. The landing wasn't exactly smooth; he'd been banged around pretty badly inside the metal shell, and limped his way to a nearby river and took a good long drink before beginning the painful process of regeneration. He camped in that clearing by the river for three days until he adequately recovered to begin his search.
At present, he still camps in the wilderness looking for any signs of Bana or the ship Bana had been piloting. Worrying for the safety of the pilot and the passengers both, his search is frequently becoming frantic and desperate. With each passing day his worry and concern continue to swell, yet he holds faith that he'll find some sign of his people on Earth soon.
