Shen had seen many things in his life time but today was going to be special to be sure. The Sky was a pitch black it only being illuminated by the stars that stretched the sky, and even the stars were somewhat dim. Tonight was a night, every 5 years or so, He would return. Shen had been preparing for his return for weeks. The Headless horseman, a myth to some but Shen knew better, the Man would always escape hell and ride across earth bringing fire and brimstone wherever he rode. The Horseman always manged to cause great harm before he was defeated. The Horseman would not be around for a bit but Shen had prepared all the goods he needed, The Candles, the Sword he'd need to fight the horseman, a Horse on standby to ride to fight him and even an open field where they could ride without him gaining a disadvantage in what would be burning woods, he always returned in the same spots, outside a large church which at this point was charred beyond belief and abandoned. The church was where he had been before the Horsemen's tragedy. He was killed while fighting for his people and he had been corned in said church but the horseman had to be dragged out and executed outside but not before the warriors set the church on fire. When the horseman returned to his body the first time, his head seemed to be missing, some say the men who killed him used magic to make him unable to gain a new body which would have a head, whatever the face was, the results were simple, he became the headless horseman.
The stories were older then he was so he was not even sure if they were true regardless he had to be ready to stop him. Shen closed his eyes the ritual would be quite difficult to not gain attention, but he really hoped no one came it would make dealing with the horseman that much more difficult their was a reason he ran solo and the horseman was the appitmey of that. He sat down focusing his ki the candles flaring up a surge of ki covering the sky it was easy to see for everyone who might of been in the area. He doubted anyone was even awake at that time it was nearly 3 pm and The battle should not of taken long, but it would be quite loud people withen the area might of heard and that would make his job far harder. He felt confident that he would finsh the job quickly but he had to be focused, he needed to locate the horseman first, with the ritual of fire. As his ki surged into the air he grabbed some sage throwing it into the small candles black smoke rising up as he began to chant some sort of demonic sounding ritual, in truth it was an incantation that he would need to bring the horseman in view, once he was soummoned, the Horseman was a supernatural being it could not normally be seen or even sensed he needed to bring him into light to make his job much easier
(Kinda of a wired open thread but wanted to try something so we'll see how it works)
