After what seemed like eternity waiting for some kind of sign to arrive for the group, the entrance slowly opened. The fox demon, Akemi, came through the door looking kind of....happy? Etoru stared at her blankly as she walked towards Bing and informed him that he was asked to see Maeve. Etoru pouted, not really enjoying the feeling of waiting much longer to see her. But, what he didn't expect, was when Akemi turned around to address him! Squeezing his shoulder a bit, Etoru blinked blankly, not really fully grasping the situtation. "O-Oh, she did--ee-ehh!"
Akemi began pushing him and Bing towards the entrance, and although it wasn't rough, it did surprise the boy. He anxiously trudged towards the entrance. Part of him wondered why he was asked to come. Sure they were super close and all...but wasn't Defrosch close too? More importantly, her own sister? He tried to put his best mature attitude on. Stay quiet unless spoken too!

Akemi lead the two down the hallway before stopping at one of the doors. She was just about to open it when instead an elder woman yanked opened the door, causing the small kitsune to jump up in alarm with her tails poofing out in alarm. "WH-aha! L-Lemon! You could have at least let me know you were coming out!" Akemi babbled, stepping aside to frantically brush the frizz out of her fur.
"Sorry shug! I reckon I shoulda' made sure y'all weren't waltzin' in before hand." The blonde southern belle said with a wide smile. "But I gotta git, with Scamp's gimp: chores pile up more than a group of flies on a cowpie I'm tellin' ya hwhat!. I reckon he can meet little miss thang another day too better to let the family git y'alls turn in before Scamp or I gush too much over the babe. She's sweeter than fudge I'm tellin' y'all." The elder woman, clearly Scampi's mother, excitedly beamed before she looked to Bing. "Y'all are the pop right? She's fine by the way y'all don't need to worry. Maeve is a dear, we all love er back home on the Shrimp Ranch. Bunches o' arms and all! Healthy little biscut in there too! That bun was ready to get on out of that oven!" She beamed, taking Bing's hand into her notably calloused one so she could give him a firm farmer's shake. "If y'all need anythin': zens, food, what have ya... Y'all come to us. Yer family now. Just like Maevey...Only thing, y'all gonna need to come git the stuff yerself. Can't expect an old bessie like me to come on up here too often can ya? Anyhoo, I'm sure y'all are itchin' to see Maeve, I'll go and get Scamp outta here too." The chatty woman finally said waving her hand dismissively as she stepped out of the way.
"...Kemi, can y'all help me and Scamp get on back to Earth?"
Lemon called out to the kitsune after taking a few steps down the hall. The demoness sighed, before looking to the group and giving them a bow to dismiss herself before walking away with Lemon, leaving them alone with the open door. Silence would hang in their absence.
"...Bing?"
A weak but all too familiar voice would finally call out. "...Etoru? Both of you... Please..." Maeve ushered them inside. The room was a bit more simple than some of the more extravagant rooms in the lookout. It was clearly a guest room of sorts, with a bed and a night stand, with a dresser pressed against the far wall. Everything seemed pristine, most likely a combined effort of both Lemon and Akemi, with little if any signs that Maeve had even gone through such an ordeal remaining. The new mother rest in the bed.
Sunlight broke through the nearby window illuminating the rather haggard looking demoness and the bundle she cradled in her arms. Seeing the two however caused the Kami's eyes to well up with tears as a smile crossed her lips.
"I-I'm so glad...Both of you are here. Please...I want you to meet...Ember."
Meanwhile, Lemon and Akemi would come out to the center platform. The Kitsune would give a wide smile to the remaining that were gathered. "Hey everyone! I've gotta blink Scampi and Lemon here down to the surface! Think you can hold the fort while I'm away handsome?" Akemi asked, pointing her gaze to Defrosch only to punctuate the sentence with a sweet little wink.
Lemon, meanwhile, would move over to Deforsch fishing a thick manila envelope from her bag that had been closed with a wax seal with the crest of a shrimp on it. "Here shug, give this to Maevey when she comes too. It's a little something from us. If she don't get it I'm gonna send Gumbo after ya for a tussle!" She teased, entrusting the parcel with the arcosian before she moved over to Scampi taking a firm hold of her hand.
"C'mon Scamp! Yer gonna have to visit another day. Y'all got chores!" She declared dragging him to Akemi.
"Wha?! Noooo C'mmmmooonnn Ma!" Scampi whined, defeated as he was pulled away.
Akemi let out a giggle, when suddenly, all three of them faded from existence.
"..."
Bridget just watched the commotion with a faux aloof gaze. "...Whatever, I just hopes she hurries up. I'm not gonna tolerate it if she stalls me from meeting my Niece." She grumbled, speaking honestly for a moment as she let a little flush creep on her cheeks.

Bing followed Akemi silently, his mind wandering. He wasn't sure what to think. He was excited and scared all at the same time. The prospect of being a father, and being able to teach someone else was incredibly exciting, but the possibility of failure terrified him. If it weren't for Akemi suddenly yelping, Bing might not have noticed the door opening in front of his eyes. The Former Kami was greeted by a very old woman. She had kind eyes, and her tough hands revealed just how much she'd gone through in her years. The best he could muster was a simple smile, and a single sentence. "Thank you so much, ma'am." As the woman made her way, Bing could hear the fatigued tones of his fiancee from behind the door. He looked to Etoru, and with a nod, he walked in. Simply seeing Maeve in bed was a relief. He smiled at her, beckoning Etoru to stay close as they approached the bed together. Maeve spoke warmly despite her weariness, happily inviting the both of them to come closer and see the newest addition to the Gan-Rakshasa family. Bing's heart-rate quickened as he sat down at the foot of the bed. This was getting a bit too emotional to handle!
Literally took way too long for this small of a post. I'll do better next round, though! Defrosch you're up!

"Yeah, we've got it." Defrosch gave a thumbs up to Akemi. He was either purposefully ignoring her cheekiness or (in an infinitely funnier scenario) was completely oblivious to it. The latter seemed far more likely either way as Cerci could hardly contain a chuckle. "Mmmhm. No need to worry." Cerci smiled, leaning on the same pillar as Defrosch. The Arcosian straightened up as he was approached by Lemon; no longer leaning on the pillar he greeted her with a slight bow. He gently took the envelope from Lemon's hands having noted its importance. It was quite hefty for a standard envelope, actually. "No need to worry ma'am. I'm a part time courier with Dokkan Deliveries. This package is safe with me~" Defrosch gave a somewhat cartoon-y salute, the same pose that the little owl mascot from the aforementioned postage company did on the little mailing stamps. Both Cerci and Defrosch waved as Akemi whisked the two humans away. For a moment, there was silence, and Bridget of all people decided to speak up. Defrosch knew her demeanor well. There was a time where he would act exactly like she did. "Heh. Excited, are we?" He joked, noting that she was still holding back. "There is no need to hold back honest feelings. I doubt anyone here would blame you if you spoke plainly and from the heart." Etoru , your turn!

Before Akemi was able to open the door, the door was swung open by an elderly woman. Alongside Akemi, Etoru yelped as well, clearly startled by the quick action. He stood beside Bing, looking away awkwardly. The three of them exchanged conversations while he stood idly by, listening in. Finally, she was gone, and soon enough, so was Akemi! Seems she had to take them home. Well, less people in the room I guess. Though, caught off guard, Etoru flinched when he heard Maeve call the two of them.
Unsure of what to do, he looked up at Bing who merely nodded. Etoru gulped and followed his master into the room. There, he saw Maeve in bed, cradling something tiny in her arms. He stood beside Bing, and tippy toed a bit to get a better look at the baby bundled up in blankets. He had a strange feeling in his gut. It was like...a happy, giddy feeling, combined with the pride of your friend accomplishing a tough challenge. Though, deep down, he felt a tad bit jealous. Everyone he was every related too just up and left, even when he found his biological mother, she didn't stay very long. He didn't even know where she headed off too. But still, he was happy for his two companions. Though he made no approach despite her offer. He messed up a lot of things, and he was going to be extra careful he didn't mess this one up too.

"You idiot, I'm not the type to get all mushy mushy over a whelp! You understand?" Bridget mumbled, blowing a strand of pink hair from her face. "I'm just here to make sure she's not a soft wuss like my bratty sister." She claimed, turning her nose up to the arcosian with a huff. It was obvious to anyone that her excuse was flimsy and her attitude was bullshit. The way her ears perked at every little sound or the way her headfins flagged up whenever she saw movement at the corner of her eye made it clear that she was very eager to get in there and meet the child. Still, she couldn't help but question why her sister would seek audience with the strange half breed child over her. It made no sense to her and frankly, it just made the wait all the more unbearable.
"Bing, take her. Please" Maeve spoke in a voice fainter than a whipser with the slightes curve of her lips. She gave her weak little smile as she offered her love the surprisingly human looking puffball that had been swaddled head to toe in a fuzzy blanket. It was a little bit of an effort, but Maeve knew that despite her weariness, and her desire to never let her bundle of love go: Bing needed this. He needed to hold his daughter for the first time and she hoped, deep down, that it would be his first time being truly happy since his battle on Kanassa. She prayed to the kais above that holding his little girl would alleviate some of his pain.
After offering Bing the chance to hold their daughter, she'd turn her attention back to the boy who had timidly refused her plea to come closer. She'd reach one of her arms out to him. She couldn't quite take his hand as she intended, so instead she rest her claws against his palm and lightly dragged them down. "Etoru..." She whispered, her voice swelling with emotion as she looked over the boy. She felt her eyes go glassy as she tried her best not to let her emotions overwhelm her. "...I have always looked upon you like a son. I've scolded you, lectured you, cared for you, and treated you like the special boy you truly are." She spoke, a fondness swelling in her heart as she looked back to all the times they shared.
"...I've been thinking, for a long while." She finally spoke, breaking the silence so she could look into the boy's eyes. "That, if I am going to start a family...I'd like you to be a part of it." She smiled, the tears falling freely as she looked over the boy, using one of her free hands to toss his spiky black locks in a loving rub of his head.
"If you are okay with it, I'd like to try raising you as your mother."

Bing swallowed harshly as Maeve slowly moved the baby towards him. He felt a rush of emotion as he took the bundle of joy into his hands, cradling her safely in his arms. He looked into her young and curious eyes, and saw himself in them. He saw Maeve, too. She was probably the most adorable thing the Former Guardian had ever seen, and he would care for her with all of his heart.
"Ember's a good name." He laughed weakly, as tears rolled down his cheeks. "She's got a fire in her already. I bet she'll be able to beat both of us in a fight when she figures out how to walk!" The little hybrid girl looked up at her father, and let out a giggle. She grabbed upwards, clamping on to Bing's index finger and getting a very good grip. Bing let out a fake "yowch!" as he gently wagged his finger.
His eyes glanced over to Etoru and Maeve for a moment. The Kami spoke of adopting Etoru, to which Bing nodded in agreement. Etoru was already a part of the family, in Bing's eyes. This just confirmed it. "Ember's gonna need a big brother who's tough and brave. You're the best candidate I can think of, Etoru."
Suddenly, his heartbeat quickened. The emotions swelling inside were a bit hard to handle. He turned to Maeve, and gently offered their bundled-up child back to her.
"Do me a favor and hold her for just a moment? I need to do something."
Once Maeve took the child back, he'd stand up, and faint, falling over harshly onto the stone floor of the room. It was a bit odd, but the current scene might make one think Bing was the one who just gave birth, with how overwhelmed he was.
Bing is KO'ed from baby love! Zeni please

"Methinks the lady doth protest too muuuch~" Defrosch chimed in, punctuating that cheeky statement with his signature smirk. He knew the significance of a growing family, he had some younger cousins after all. Cerci also knew it all too well, perhaps more-so; she not only had younger siblings but also some nephews that her older brother was the father of. "Oooh reaaally?" Noting Bridget's tension and alertness via her head fins Cerci wiggled her eyebrows as she spoke, stepping away from the pillar. "Then why're you so nervous~?" She was about to get cheeky. Defrosch was willing to leave it be with what he said. Bridget's feelings were obvious enough to pick up on, and he was satisfied with that knowledge alone. Etoru , its your move again.

Etoru stared quietly, watching the trio. The sight was heartwarming and he was truly happy for his two friends. Times really do change. But, he'd make mention of that later. Right now this was their time, and he wasn't even sure why they brought him in here. I mean, after all, her sister was outside right now. It'd make more sense if she was in his place. But, Etoru snapped out of his deep thinking when he felt something grasp his palm. He looked down and saw Maeve's hand caressing his palm. "...Y-Yes?" She began to talk about the past, how she treated him. And it got him thinking. She's always been there for him, especially when he needed it most. But why was she mentioning this...Etoru saw her tears of joy flow down her cheeks, gulping anxiously. And then she said it. She wanted him to be apart of their family.
Her hand ruffled his hair playfully, and he felt a rush of emotions swell up in his chest. He looked at Bing, and back at Maeve. "Okay...Okay Etoru don't cry...." He thought. He clenched his fist and knocked on his thigh a bit in a desperate attempt to not let any tears through. His face looked distressed and scrunched up cutely. "....T-...Thanks....so much...." He managed to say, letting his voice crack a bit. Etoru looked away real fast, wiping his eyes with his forearm. The small boy sniffled, furrowing his eyebrows with a determined look. "Y-Yeah! For sure...I'll be the best big brother you can ask for, I promise!" He blinked as Bing suddenly tried to excuse himself. It seemed odd. What could be so important that he'd want to ditch out on this moment--oh. Etoru's yelped, a cold sweat running down his neck as Bing just fell flat on the floor. "M-Master Bing! Eeek!"
His mouth quivering nervously, he looked at Maeve with an awkward look. "I'll...just take him to his room..." The boy summoned a few clones, and they all surrounded the Serpent Master's body. They grabbed his limbs and lifted him up, marching to the door. Etoru followed in suit, but before he exited, he looked back at Maeve. "And uh, if you need anything mom! Don't hesitate to ask! I'll be the bestest son ever! I promise!" He said rather excitedly. And with that, he and his clones marched out the room, shutting the door quietly. He marched passed the group outside, waving awkwardly as he clones carried Bing to his room. "...Everything's cool..." They entered the lookout, and the clones and Etoru took their own path. Etoru heading to his own room if he wasn't stopped by the group of course, and the clones taking Bing to his room. --- Potential thread exit, if so, PL please.

Bridget shot the cheeky Arcosian a glare as he spoke to her in such a light and teasing tone. "As if a Barones-" She paused, biting her lip as she instead cut her gaze aside. That term didn't apply to her anymore, and that realization was a bitter sweet one. Bitter because she thought of the shame of losing a fight as important as it was but still sweet because of who the victor ended up being. (It was especially so because their bastard cousin was knocked down a peg or two.) That fight with Maeve was a precious memory that she wouldn't give up for the world but she wasn't going to let this mortal know that or even that she had feelings in general. So with a shake of her head and a flash of her rows of sharp pointed teeth the large beast of a dragon would let out a single dry chuckle.
"...Speak from the heart huh?" The gruff woman asked, cocking a brow as she took a step toward the teasing alien. She looked down, absolutely towering over him before she leaned forward with her glare as sharp as her fangs. "That sort of thinking that you and the mortals here on Earth have is why my little sister is so soft now. Showing your weak spots willingly doesn't make you strong it makes you an idiot." She declared, poking the Arcosian with one of her claws as she accused him of the terrible crime of making Maeve 'go soft.'
"Hows that for 'Speaking from the heart?'" She asked with a sneer as she pulled back. While she didn't necessarily mind the Arcosian or his demon companion she wasn't going to let him get to her, at least not visibly anyway. Her pride was too vast to even imply that Defrosch was right.
Meanwhile, as Bridget was being about as subtle as a freight train, Akemi would reappear.
"Now, now, children this doesn't seem like the appropriate atmosphere does it?" The fox demon said in a mock motherly tone as she looked upon the large woman with an annoyed flick of her tail. "If you keep this up I don't think Maeve will want to see you at all." The Kitsune warned, her emerald eyes narrowing on Bridget. The comparatively young Demoness swallowed audibly before bowing her head.
"...I'm sorry."

'Man, I was happy to just leave it at that. She really is Maeve's sister I guess.' Defrosch remained completely stone-faced long with steadfast during Bridget's declaration and indignant prodding. Behind his back some of his aura swirled and liquified; creating a the image of a shrugging person above his head. "I'll have you know that there is more to that than being 'soft' or 'weak' as you are seemingly readily able to put it." The liquid sigil dispersed as that portion of Defrosch's aura returned to normal and faded. "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt however, I think you're smart enough to figure it out." He spoke rather calmly. There was a certain weight behind his words, and that is what he meant. Defrosch spoke freely and without fear of being judged because he knew exactly who he was.
"Mmmhm." Cerci nodded along in agreement with what Defrosch was saying, she didn't have much else to add since he pretty much nailed it in her opinion. They were quit in sync, no wonder they were such good friends!
When Akemi re-materialized, Bridget was quick to apologize. As if the nail could be hit on the head any more than it already was. The Arcosian nodded to Akemi, in understanding before he turned to Bridget. "No biggie, my bad for badgering you in the first place." Neither Cerci Defrosch would bow in return, but they had a reason for it. "By the way, if I'm meaning to apologize to someone, I'd want to look 'em in the eye. So chin up, yeah?" Defrosch winked, and a little sparkle came from his eye. Cerci stepped forward and held her hands at her hips as she looked up at Bridget. "Yeah, me too. Both with the being sorry and the lookin' you in the eye thing."

Bridget pulled her head up, even though she was (much) taller than Defrosch for a moment it felt like she was physically looking up to him. As his words registered about 'chinning up' and 'looking people in the eye' she couldn't help but flag her headfins in alarm. The way her her eyes widened and her brows creased made it impossible to tell if she was startled or offended by his words. In reality: she couldn't help but think...That...He...Was...Totally...Cool... The demoness shot up to a stand as she quickly busied herself with burying her face into her cloak to hide her burning cheeks. Like her younger sister, she was easily flustered and had the tendency to blush wildly. In fact, she was blushing up to her headfins. It infuriated her to no end. A damn MORTAL should not have had that kind of power. It was obscene it was unreal it was... Bridget blinked, realizing that Akemi had already ushered them along and was leading the pack down the hall. "W-wait up!" She called out, rushing behind to catch up.
Akemi meanwhile would have lead Defrosch and Cerci (and the lagging Bridget) down the familiar halls. The petite Kitsune woman seemed to hold herself higher with every passing step. Her ears in particular were perking up more and more as if she was instinctively becoming more hyper aware of her surroundings. It was her own maternal instinct kicking in at full force. "Defrosch." She simply said without turning back to look at him. She already knew she'd have his ear. "I'm sure you ought to already know this but Maeve is very tired. Please be mindful of that." She warned, though it seemed pretty haphazard. As if she knew better but was going through the motions anyway. "Oh and..." She paused, motioning to the fat envelope. "...Don't give her that right away. I'm sure you can already wager what's inside and that bit of excitement might not be good for Maeve at the moment." It was true that Maeve often cared little for money. (Well, mortal money anyway. She definitely had a hoard of her demonic treasures stashed away somewhere being a dragon subtype and all.) She knew that the strain of caring for a child was going to cost quite a bit. She didn't meed to see just how Generous the Shrimp clan had been right away. With that, Akemi would turn and open the door. letting the troupe in.
Maeve was as she had been. Tired, disheveled, and crying. The demoness had the biggest and brightest smile she's ever had as she held her little newborn close to her heart. The Golden Kami's ears perked as she noticed movement in the corner of the room. She perked up, her entire face lighting up as she looked upon her closest friend. "Defrosch!" She called out, nearly breathlessly as one of her many arms quickly urged him to come forth. The demoness smiled, tears streaming down her eyes a new as she held up her baby girl.
"Meet Ember."

Ordinarily, Defrosch would fully notice Bridget's little freak out episode; but Akemi had moved forward and got their attention before he could say much about it. One of two things would happen. Either Defrosch got through to her or he pissed her off. Alas, that's life sometimes. So as the group was lead along slowly, Akemi had the Arcosian's attention and he fully understood what she meant; Maeve wouldn't be in the frame of mind for any sort of silliness... Or really any excitement either. "I got you. One sec." He brought out a tiny capsule and used the technology to seal the envelope loaded with riches in a teeny tiny pill-like bottle. "I'll give the envelope to her in a day or two. No worries."
Cerci lagged behind a little bit, just so Bridget didn't get completely lost. The giant dragon demon had long legs, she could catch up super easy! "C'mon, this way~" Cerci stayed behind outside of the door, allowing Akemi, Defrosch and Bridget to make their way in.
Upon entering the room, Defrosch returned Maeve's acknowledgement of his presence with a smile and positivity that could easily rival her own. He kept his voice hushed up for the little baby's sake. Slowly coming closer, he could now see joyful bundle the new life. "D'aww-- O-oh gosh." Defrosch's eyes lit up as he held his hands over his mouth, before excitedly gesturing for Bridget to get on over to where he was. "Look, look, shes adorable~" Seeing Maeve tear up got him quite emotional too, but instead of crying his eyes more-so sparkled.

As time passed: smiles were shared and hearts were united in the joy of the littlest Ember's birth. Bridget got to experience first hand what it felt like to be an aunt as she cradled the girl in her arms for the first time. She also promptly burst into tears when her sister affectionately referred to her as 'Auntie Bridget.' Akemi, despite being more of a chaperone in all of this, stood by Maeve's side like a proud parent. The ancient fox had the most genuine looks of joy she's held in ages when she got a chance to cradle her dearest student's daughter in her arms. Of course, Defrosch would get his fair share of time holding the little one and so would his demonic companion.
Though despite the fact that everyone wanted this moment to last forever... Both Maeve and Ember ended up having a hard time keeping their eyes open and soon, Akemi would take the hint and start shooing everyone away so the demoness could get some much needed rest. Before Defrosch was forced out however. Maeve would take his hand and make one final request. "Can you please try and bring Bing Gan back here? I...I don't want to be alone tonight..." She uttered, her headfins drooping a bit. It seemed like a simple request but it was an important one to her none the less. With her final plea being made she'd release the Arcosian's hand and lay back. Before drifting off she glanced aside to the little crib where her swaddled baby lay resting.
The new mother gave one final smile as she closed her eyes.

Truly, this was a sight to behold. What could possibly be the truest expression of genuine positivity and joy; the loving acceptance of a new life into the world. One that would be cherished by family and friend alike.
Eventually, Cerci was convinced to come into the room. Along with Defrosch, she watched on as Bridget-- one who was naturally physically imposing-- show a side of herself so readily that she could otherwise see as 'weak' where in reality she was as strong as they came and continued to grow in order to protect what they held dear. Bridget knew exactly what Defrosch meant earlier about strength and weakness, of this the Arcosian was absolutely certain. Soon enough after Akemi's own show of unrestrained happiness in being witness to all of this, Ember was to be held by Cerci.
Cerci had a great deal of experience with growth of a family, since she has many, many younger siblings. As such, she felt no twinge of nervousness, only excitement as she was among those lucky enough to support the newborn. Her heart went to Maeve, incredibly proud of the new mother.
It was then Defrosch's turn to hold Ember for a moment. The little one was carried from each and every caring hold as gentle as the summer breeze each time. Maybe she might not understand any of this now, but for what it was worth; in Ember's first hour or so of life, she was given such unconditional affection and positivity. A deep well of power that was stronger than any Katchin steel, and more vibrant than the most blazing ki.
Ember was given pure and honest love.
Understandably, the two needed their rest, so everyone else was to be ushered out in due time. Cerci went on with Bridget at Akemi's request while Defrosch carefully set the baby down in her crib. As he too went to leave, Maeve caught his attention, reaching for his hand, which he allowed. Listening to her request, he gave a slow nod before speaking in a clear yet hushed tone. "Mhm. You got it. You two rest well now." Giving one last smile, Defrosch was on his way...
