PaoPower: Show what your Universe is made of!
Having made his way through the Bamboo Forest, he finds the East Capitol. “It’s not much” he thought to himself, but he was happy just to be out of the forest. He made his way through the metropolis trying to learn something about this universe. But all he found are weak, pathetic creatures living their 9-5, ham and egger lives. That is until he stumbled upon a large billboard reading, “Are you a warrior? Are you looking to test your skills and bring home a grand prize as well?? Come to Orin Temple and put your skills to the test!” a big yellow arrow points eastward. What threat could these mortals cause to him, what could he possibly gain? “However I could use the prize to purchase one of these flying machines these rodents use and get as far away from here as possible” he thought. So with that he set off eastward, following the yellow arrow.
All of the monks stop their synchronized martial arts training as Tranze walks through the front gate and into the earthy courtyard. While the rest of the world might be getting on with technology, these monks still live a modest life. Tranze stares stoically for a moment before saying, “I’m here for the prize”. A bent body moves forward in the crowd, it’s an old wise looking man. His head is clean shaven, as they all are, with the six incent burns on his forehead. The only sign of hair is a long white beard. “Ah, you’re the first challenger in a while. We originally set up this contest in order to keep our students sharp. The introduction of fighters with varying styles helps to-“. Tranze interrupts, “I don’t really care old man”. A few of the students step forward, ready to defend their master’s honor. But with a wave of the master’s hand they back down. The old man speaks calmly, “I understand you must be eager, but patience is a virtue” he smiles at Tranze and waves for him to follow.
He takes him deep into the temple and underneath the actual monastery. Down here there is a training pit that is kept unbearably hot, like a sauna. This is where Tranze meets his challenge. A small girl is down here, poised in a stance. Other monks in groups of three are picking up large boulders and throwing them at her. She punches one into bits and then jumps into the air, performing a spinning kick that destroys another one. It’s pretty surprising to see such an assuming girl smashing large boulders. The girl herself is pretty short and petite, she’s lucky if she stands at 4’11. She is wearing the typical monk robes and sports a bald head, like the rest of the monks. As well as the six intense burns which ride somewhat high on her bald head. The only thing that separates her from the other monks is the sheathed sword which hangs at her left hip.
The old master chuckles, “This is my greatest student, Paopao”. She smiles, “I haven’t had a challenger in quite some time. I hope you last longer than all the others”. Tranze felt some level of shame, having to battle lowly monks. But he shoved that aside, he needed to get stronger and he could definitely use the prize money, with his lack of flying. He slowly walks towards the center of the training ground where Paopao meets him. The master stands between the two of them. The old master speaks slowly, “Now… Paopao is a swordsman, are you confident enough in your abilities to allow the use of weapons?”. Tranze hardly acknowledges the man, instead he just replies “Let’s just get this started so I can claim my prize”.
The master smiles and walks off to the side, Paopao takes a few steps backwards. Both fighters enter this stances and the old master yells out, “FIGHT!”. The battle commences and Paopao pounces, striking in a similar style to that of the Wolf Fang Fist. A low stance with sharp, stinging open hand strikes. Tranze manages to block all of her strikes, but he can’t sleep on her, she’s definitely powerful.
They continue to strike at one another, exchanging attacks. Most of which are blocked, dodged, or just glancing blows. The fighters land with simultaneous blows and bounce off of each other. Tranze lands gracefully, sweat rolling down his face from the extreme heat. He tosses off his cape and it lands with a thud on the ground next to him. But Paopao uses this opportunity to unsheathe her sword. The sword itself is somewhat strange looking, it gleams with an unnatural silverish light. But any thoughts about the sword are quickly ended as she slashes the air in front of her, sending out a large crescent of silver energy. Tranze quickly materializes his scythe, dissipating the energy crescent with a slash of his own. Though the force sends him skidding back on his heels. “Damn!” Paopao calls out, “I thought that would have gotten you for sure”.
“Your attacks are no challenge for me, child. I’ve faced faaar worse” he smirks and rushes her with his scythe, disappearing and reappear between attacks. He lands a hard kick in her shoulder, sending her blade flying into the adjacent wall. Barely missing another monk, who can merely gulp and turn pale white at the thought of his potential fate. Tranze goes in for the killing blow, driving the blade of his scythe downwards. But his overconfidence is his downfall, Paopao uses the awkwardness of the scythe to quickly dodge and land two pincing blows behind each of his shoulder blades. This cause Tranze to drop his scythe, his arms going numb. He quickly turns to face Paopao, his arms limp by his side. “Pressure points” she giggles, “Well I’ll give it to you, you lasted longer than the rest. But this is over!” a confident grin crosses her face as she attacks, throwing a barrage of blows with the tip of her hand, sinking the finger tips deep into Tranze’s muscle tissue.
She finishes it off the combo with a double palm strike to Tranze’s chest which send him through the air and on his ass. Paopao starts to celebrate, “Yes! You’re my 100th victory, which means I’m ready to climb Korin’s Tower!”. But the smile fades as Tranze slowly stands and spits out some blood, “I’m not done with you yet, little girl”. He starts powering up, his eyes light up with an unhuman red glow as his aura increases in size. His power level raises to a multiple of 3, his arms slowly raising him, no longer useless as all of his muscles start to bulge. This is his intense struggle, squeezing out just a miniscule portion of the power locked away deep inside of him.
He takes off at her, his crimson aura blazing and the ground smashing beneath him as he takes off. He starts pummeling her savagely. Knocking her all around the training ground. Disappearing and reappearing with such speed that it’s impossible for her to put up a defense, never mind any form of offense. He raises his arms above his head and hammer fists her into the ground. Standing over her, he rears back his balled fist, ready to end this contest. The old master and all the monks look on terrified, surely another blow would kill her. Tranze brings his fist downward, dark crimson energy forming around it. But he stops himself, for whatever reason. His fist a mere inch away from her face. His aura dissipates and his power returns to normal as he drops down to a knee. “I win”
The monks all run to Paopao’s aid, helping her up. The old master reaches into his robe and pulls out a small sack of sensu beans, popping one into her mouth and fully healing her. Tranze says calmly, “Where is my prize?”. “Yes, yes. Of course” says the old master. “You’ve definitely have earned it. So with great sadness I present to you the grand prize”. He gestures towards Paopao, “My greatest student ever, Paopao”. “WHAT?!” Tranze exclaims balling his fist, an anime sweat drop running down his head. He grabs the old man and starts shaking him “What kind of scam is this?” he screams, irritated. “No scam at all” he says as he waves his hand, “You saw her power first hand. Surely she will be of great help to you on your journey. The girl possesses… special powers” he cackles. “I. don’t. care!” Tranze quickly replies. Paopao steps up, her eyes alight “Please take me with you, you’re the strongest warrior I’ve ever faced! I’ve spent my whole life here training. I want to set out on my own adventure!”. Tranze shakes his head, “No, no, no, I don’t do followers”. “I can’t believe this, such a waste of time” he storms out, scooping his cape up as he passes it.
