Satan City! A populated town located in the Eastern Lands. It was a calm afternoon with barely any clouds in sight. People were out, and about enjoying themselves like any other day. Friends were hanging out around the local parks, couples were out hand in hand, children were playing on the nearby playgrounds, and families were out enjoying some quality time. Among these people was Marcel Law, a Saiyan/Demon hybrid who was born, and raised on this little blue planet, in this very city. He was currently walking down this town's many streets which was probably a bad idea, deep in thought about his life.
"Hmmm..."
As he was walking, the sound of a horn blowing can be heard coming from behind him, causing him to lose his concentration, and pause. The black haired male turned his head around to see that a car was coming right towards him. Just before it could make impact, the car managed to stop a few inches from the unfazed hybrid who looked at the vehicle with a confused expression.
"Oi! Watch where you're going, dumbass!" the driver yelled out towards Marcel as he stuck an arm out to flip him off.
Marcel watched as the car drove around him, still a bit confused about what just happened. He then noticed that people were eyeing him, some whispering among themselves while others snickered. It then finally occurred to him that he was in the middle of the street, causing his cheeks to go red as he casually made his way to a sidewalk with his head down. Given his strength, a car hitting him head on would probably have not been a problem, but how stupid he looked just being out there like that was embarrassing.
Law continued to walk on the concrete trail until he found himself in a market district which was bursting with customers. The quiet hybrid examined the many interesting artifacts, and items at each stand, not buying any because he sadly had no Zeni due to not having a job. Ever since his step father died, Marcel has been living in the wilderness, surviving off the land believing it to be easier, but just like what he's doing now, he has a tendency to explore towns, comeback to his home town from time to time for nostalgia. How he keeps himself, and his attire neat to the point that it looks like he isn't homeless trash is a mystery.
Marcel stopped at a fruit stand, admiring the many different fresh fruits on display which was enough to make drool leak from the side of his mouth which he quickly wiped off with his thumb. He quickly checked his person for cash only to be reminded of his lack of it...
"Oh..." Marcel let out in a defeated tone.
Just before he was about to leave, a loud scream caused the male to pause. He glanced behind him just in time to see a figure in a black ski mask leaving the stand with a sack over his back!
"Thief!" the market owner screamed. "He stole some of my fruits!"
Why the robber decided to go for the food rather than the money was anyone's guess, but that didn't matter now. There was somebody committing theft, and Marcel couldn't just stand by, and watch this happen, so he decided to pursue this figure, maneuvering around, and accidentally bumping into some people. The crowd of people thickened, causing the hybrid to lose sight of the criminal. He then proceeded to float off the ground until he was over the people who most of were surprised by this. He looked around frantically while gritting his teeth.
"He got away...." Marcel sighed deafeningly as he floated back down.
Reading for the criminal's power level was out of the question since majority of the people around here were on the same level. He closed his eyes, and exhaled, not believing that he let someone get away like that.
So much for being a protector...
He looked around at the people watching him once again before stuffing his hands in his pockets, leaving the scene.
It was starting to get late, but people were still out. Marcel continued his walk, still beaten up about what happened earlier. He stopped to take a quick stretch. As he finished he turned his head to see that he was standing right in front of the school he use to attend. Orange Star High. A small smile grew on the hybrid's face as his mind filled with memories of that place. They weren't much. It was just him pretty much being quiet, and distant from the other students, but it was still his memories, and his step father would always tell him to cherish those. He chuckled a little, and continued his walk for a bit before stopping by the entrance to an alley from the sound of a faint muffling. He slowly walked over, and peeked into the alley, witnessing a horrible act being committed. A girl who looked to be in her teens was being pinned down by two thugs with her clothes nearly ripped off. One of the thugs pushed his hand against her mouth to keep her from talking as the other one whispered into her ear, saying, “Come on, baby, you know you’ll like it.” The woman then attempted to squirm, and scream out again only to be pinned down more, infuriating the thug who just whispered to her. “Enough with your damn squirming!” The thug demanded before balling up one of his fists. Before he could strike her, his hand was suddenly stopped half way through. Both thugs looked up with eyebrows raised to see who was the fool trying to play hero.
It was none other then Marcel.
The two thugs looked at the man, and began to chuckle. “Oh look, a fool with a death wish.” the thug who was being gripped taunted as he gestured to his partner who took out a rusty knife. Suddenly the thug’s chuckling turned into screams of agony. The other thug looked over to him only to see that his partner’s wrist was being crushed by the quiet male.
"Committing such acts is unacceptable. People like you two deserve a fate worse than death." Marcel said with a menacing glare as his red eyes began to glow, his grip tightening even more, a faint dark aura surrounding him, and the screams growing louder.
Without warning, Marcel threw that thug out of the alley, and over a building. The other thug shivered, and coward in fear as Marcel made his way to him, only to faint before the hybrid could even touch him. Law started to breathe in, and out, starting to calm down. He walked over to the shivering woman, and offered her a hand to help her up, but she slowly backed away from him stuttering, "M-m-mmo..." until she screamed out,
"MONSTER!!"
The teen staggered, and ran from the alley crying. Couldn't really blame her. She was about to get raped then witnessed what she could only think of as a monster. Marcel emerged from the alley, watching the victim run off. He then looked over, and saw a crowd of people looking up at the building that the previous thug was thrown over. His eyes then went back to the alley with the unconcious thug. Marcel closed his eyes, and exhaled once again before smiling softly.
He may not of got the appreciation he deserved, but the fact that he saved someone was enough to make him happy
