Articho bounced around on his toes in an open area on King Kai's planet, his golden, Super Saiyan hair even larger and wilder than it was normally and his muscles bulging ridiculously. His fists and feet flew wildly as he shadow boxed the air, though he noticed that they weren't going as fast as they normally did. This Super Saiyan form was odd, to say the least. He felt like he could knock a bullet train right off of its tracks with little more than a flick of his wrist, but he felt so slow that he was pretty sure he couldn't hit the bullet train even if it was stopped. This was a last resort form if he ever saw one. Using it in a regular fight wouldn't do him much good. He stopped his attacks towards the emptiness in front of him and lowered his energy output, dropping back down to Super Saiyan. His hair shortened back to its usual spiked style and he could almost hear his clothes breathe a sigh of relief as the strain on them was lowered. He took a deep breath and stretched his arms over his head for a moment before looking back at King Kai's house. Articho began walking towards the house, a frustrated look crossing his face. He hadn't thought about it before, but for a trainer of worthy heaven bound heroes, King Kai hadn't given the young hybrid much training. He rapped his knuckles on the door of the heavenly being's house before crossing his arms over his chest. "Hey, King Kai," he called out. "I don't know if this is being too forward or not, but when are we going to start the actual training? Shadow boxing can only go so far."King Kai

"OH YEAH?! WELL YOU KNOW WHAT, I'VE GOT A WARRIOR WHO CAN CLOBBER BOTH YOUR STUPID 'ZERORI AND XYLO' IN TWO SECONDS FLAT! JUST YOU WAIT BEELZEBUB, ALL OF MY STUDENTS WILL MOP THE FLOOR WITH YOURS, AND THEN WE'LL SEE WHO--- DID YOU JUST HANG UP ON ME?!?! WHY YOU LITTLE..."
The shouts of the furious King Kai boomed from within his home, making him sound more like a furious store manager than a Deity. He slammed the door of his house wide open, stomping out into the driveway with a face redder than a tomato. The Kai grumbled nonsense to himself, before he finally noticed Articho. He blinked blankly, before shaking his head, allowing himself to cool down.
"Ah, Articho! I'm so sorry we haven't begun training yet. I've been helping the Upper Kai's set up the Tournament when I can. It's been taking up a lot of my time!"
He gave the Saiyan a close look. Out of all his students, this one has received the least training so far. Judging by how comfortable he was in his Super Saiyan state, it was safe to assume he had mastery over the form already, unlike Pieter, who'd only just ascended months ago!
"I have a couple of tests lined up for you, so if you think you're ready, just say the word and we can start right away!"

Articho blinked and took a step back in surprise as he heard shouting coming from King Kai's house. It sounded like he was on the phone with someone. Someone he was clearly not happy with, though Articho did notice King Kai mentioning Zerori. He didn't have much time to think about it before needing to jump back when the short deity slammed open the door, nearly taking the young hybrid out with it as he did. "Is this a bad time...? I can come back later if it is..."Articho waved his hand dismissively, his confused expression changing to a grin as King Kai calmed down. "It's alright, King Kai. The tournament's a pretty big deal and I'm super excited for it, so I hope it's coming together well," he said. "Who were you talking to in there? I heard you mention Zerori's name and it threw me off there for a minute. Zerori's gonna be there, too?"Articho's grin fell away to a look of hesitation. He scratched his head, which was a lot harder than usual with his spiky hair in the way. "These aren't written tests that ask me about math and stuff, right?" he asked nervously. ""Cause I didn't have a formal education beyond early grade school."King Kai

"Zerori? You know her? Well uh... That's what he said just now... Let me check my notes quickly."
King Kai pulled out a notepad, flipping through the pages quickly, before stopping near the bottom. He adjusted his sunglasses, blinking a few times as he read the list off. "Let's see... You... Plato... Pieter... Ah! Zerori! Yep. She's gonna be at the Tournament." He quickly pocketed the notepad, before walking towards his car.
"No no, not school tests! I've got to test your skill to see if you're able to handle my training. I don't want you quitting halfway through my lessons, get what I mean?"
The Kai peered around the planet, searching for something. After a moment, he let out an "aha!" before flinging his antennae forwards. In the blink of an eye, a large cloud of smoke suddenly exploded into existence, clouding Articho's view of King Kai for just a moment. As the smoke cleared, it was revealed that a person had been brought here through magic! It was a Human, with a Dogi as white as snow, and a long blonde mane of well-groomed hair. On the breast of his Gi was King Kai's symbol, suggesting he had been a student of the Kai at some point in his After Life.
The blonde-haired Human stretched his limbs, yawning heavily as he looked around. He saw King Kai first, giving him a wide smile. "Hey King Kai! What brings me here this time? Need me to show off to one of the other Kai's or something?"
King Kai chuckled. "No nothing like that. I just need you to test one of our newest fighters. He seems to be about your speed... Maybe."
He turned, a curious brow raised as his eyes settled on Articho's form. The blonde-haired Fighter laughed heartily. "Hah! Seems strong enough!" He took a few steps away from King Kai, making sure to stay away from the road that his tutor loved oh-so much. Once he was a fair distance away, he nodded towards Articho, a slight smirk on his face.
"Let's just skip right to the meat and potatoes, eh? Come at me when you're ready and we can get this started."

Articho nodded in affirmation, smiling. "Yeah, I know her! We've known each other for a while now and I haven't seen her since..." He trailed off and his smile fell away. The last time he had seen her was when he'd been captured and taken to Knutts on Vegeta. He didn't blame her, though. She hadn't turned him over to them or anything, so it wasn't her fault. Articho awkwardly coughed into his fist before continuing. "How did she die, anyway? I remember Etoru included her in his little memorial thing, but we never did find out how she died."
Articho perked up a little bit when King Kai clarified what kind of tests he was talking about. A confident smirk found its way onto the young hybrid's face as he crossed his arms. "You might as well just give me an 'A' right now. Nothing you throw at me will make me want to quit!" He watched King Kai turn away from him and seemingly search for someone's energy, blinking in surprise at the sudden blast of smoke. He stared blankly as a blond haired man appeared from the quickly dissipating smoke, though it was quickly replaced by another grin as he watched the exchange between King Kai and the man.
"You sound pretty eager to lose," Articho replied, uncrossing his arms and reverting back to his regular form. He wanted to have some fun with this fight. Super Saiyan would end it just too quickly. He took a fighting stance, still wearing a cocky smirk before he took off towards the fighter, moving faster than the normal eye could see. He dashed around his opponent, leaving multiple afterimages surrounding the man before leaping forward from behind, his fist drawn back in a powerful punch. "Here I come!" he shouted before dashing away again, leaving another afterimage to carry through with a useless punch as he came at the man's right side with a powerful round house kick.

The blonde-haired fighter's muscles tensed up as Articho suddenly disappeared! It was only a moment later that a myriad of after-images appeared around him! His brow raised curiously, trying to discern which Articho was the real one. "Where are you, Mister Saiyan..."Soon enough, one of the After-Images shot forwards, shouting as it closed in! The Blonde-haired fighter turned on his heel, his arms crossing in front of him as the attack came in. As the strike flew forward however, it seemed that Articho's fist would simply phase through him! The Human's eyes shifted from side to side, trying to find the Saiyan Hybrid, but he was just a bit too slow. Articho's foot connected with the Human Fighter's side, causing him to fly back from the force of the blow! He careened through the air, but with a burst of Kiai he was able to stop his momentum. He gave Articho a wide smile, congratulating him. "Nice! I gotta say I didn't expect that much at first. You've already surprised me!"He dashed towards Articho, his body coated in a white Ki aura. He pulled his fist back, before thrusting it towards Articho's gut.

Articho straightened from his attacks, rolling his neck to loosen up a little bit. His eyes were bright with excitement and his face still bore a cocky smirk. "Ahem, it's Mister Half-Saiyan to you, sir," he replied, stretching his arms a little bit as he did. "I already look exactly like my father. I don't want to be a complete spitting image of his Saiyan army days."
Articho's aura flared up around him as the blonde fighter charged at him. "You'll find that I'm chock full of those!" he shouted, drawing one hand up above his hand. He quickly swung his arm down, tossing a ki blast at the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust, obscuring his opponent's view of him. He vanished out of the path of the older man, reappearing behind him to deliver another kick to the man's back.

A surprised expression etched onto the Human Warrior's face as his fist whiffed completely. This Saiyan was a bit trickier than he expected. Most of them were just brutes, but it seemed this one had a brain on him. He felt a painful sting to his back as Articho's kick connected, sending the Warrior tumbling away. He slowly slid to a stop, returning to a standing position as he dusted himself off. "My apologies, Mister Half-Saiyan. I meant no disrespect in my assumptions."The Warrior took a breath, his suppressed Ki releasing itself as he settled into a defensive stance. He would need to take this much more seriously if he wanted to truly succeed. "Let's kick it up a notch, no?"With a flash of his aura, the Warrior dashed forwards, a mighty shout escaping him as he approached. He flung his fists forwards, attempting to pepper the Half-Saiyan with a barrage of blows. Should his attacks hit, he'd finish his barrage off with a mighty uppercut, hoping to send Articho off the planet!

Articho shrugged and waved his hand dismissively at the human fighter. "Eh, it's not that big of a deal. You're not the first person to get it wrong," the hybrid said. His face refocused into a serious look quickly after, though, as the human powered up. "Now we're talking!" Articho shouted in excitement as the fighetr came flying at him. He managed to block the first few punches, but not all. A few got threw, knocking the hybrid around before the upper cut sent him flying. Articho fell off the side of the planet and out of view of the human fighter. He shook his head to clear it before turning in the air and flying back up the curve of King Kai's planet. He came around from behind the fighter, rearing back for powerful punch aimed at the back of the fighter's head. Only, the fist would phase through any response the fighter had with Articho appearing in front of the fighter.
"I'll show you kicking it up a notch!" he shouted. In a flash of gold, Articho ascended to Super Saiyan and threw his own punch combo at the fighter, finishing up with an attempt to grab the fighter by the arm and take him to the ground in an arm bar.

The Warrior let out a satisfied chuckle as the Hybrid was launched. It'd been a while since he landed a blow that solidly against a worthwhile opponent. After a moment, the Saiyan came back onto the planet, charging towards the Human's backside. The Warrior turned, slamming his fist down into Articho's face! As his attack landed however, he found that the Saiyan simply dissipated. Another after-image! He cursed himself for falling for that again. He was surprised to see the Saiyan re-appear right in front of him, hair flaring up into a set of golden spikes! The Warrior stepped back in surprise, but was quickly peppered with a barrage of strikes. The Super Saiyan finished his combo by snatching the Human by the arm, forcing him into the dirt by holding his hand behind his back. "Damn! You got me good kid!"He struggled for a moment, before realizing that the hold was much too strong to break out of. With a sigh of disappointment, he stopped struggling. "Looks lime you got me in this round. Well done... Hope you're ready for round two though!"With a burst of Ki, the Warrior let his full power flourish! His energy climbed incredibly high, surpassing even the power of a Super Saiyan! He let loose a burst of Kiai, hoping to knock Articho away. Should he succeed, he'd hop to his feet, white aura blazing brilliantly around him. "Y'know, a few thousand years ago, a trick like that definitely woulda tripped me up. Nowadays I'm much more in-tune with that whole 'Ki' stuff you tough fighters are all raging about."He cracked his knuckles, smirking as he turned back to King Kai. "You cool with me using some of those fancy techniques you taught me, or you wanna save that for a later lesson?"King Kai shook his head. "Save it for later, Olibu. We don't need to knock the poor boy out!""Fair enough."He turned back to Articho, smirk still present. "Come at me, halfie. I wanna see if any new tricks come with the gold hair-dye."

Articho grinned cockily as he applied more pressure to the fighter's arm, making sure to keep him in place. "I may be half Saiyan, but my mother is 100% human and as shrewd as they come. I had to get clever quick if I wanted to be sneaky around her," he bragged. His grin grew wider when the human beneath him admitted defeat, but a look of confusion crossed his face when he shouted about a round 2. His grip loosened with the sudden burst of energy rolling off of the man and he jumped back, using the man's back as a springboard and back flipping through the air. He landed back on the ground, still grinning at the man as he fell back into his fighting pose. "Oh, yeah now we're talking! Time for the main course!"
His enthusiasm disappeared for a moment when the warrior mentioned his trick working a thousand years ago. A few thousand years? How long had this guy been dead? A terrifying thought crossed Articho's mind and he looked over at King Kai. "I don't have to stay dead for that long, right? I've got things to do back on Earth." Then he thought about the others who had returned to life before him. They didn't have to stick around for thousands of years. Dumb, dumb question. "I don't need the yellow hair dye for any new tricks, but it does give me a nice power boost to punch guys who think they can take me on in the face just a little bit harder," the hybrid said. I'll show you a trick alright, he thought. He readied himself to attack the fighter again, though he knew the afterimage trick wouldn't work a third time. Hell, he was lucky it worked twice. He'd have to take this guy head on now, but he wasn't worried. His excitement far outweighed any worry he had.
"Let's kick it!" Articho shouted as he charged at the fighter. He feinted a punch aimed at the fighter's side, shifting quickly into a hook kick towards the back of his neck, hoping to pull the fighter down onto the ground. Should he be successful, the hybrid would follow the fighter downwards and attempt to lock him into an Achilles' lock while he dropped one leg down onto the fighter's head in a vicious ax kick.

"Don't worry, you shouldn't be here too long. If I remember correctly, the last guy who finished his training with King Kai revived after about 500 years or so."
Articho quickly rushed in, an excited tone in his voice as the battle commenced. With a swift motion, the Half-Saiyan tossed out a punch. Olibu was agile enough to avoid the strike, but it was a mere feint! The Human realized his folly in the nick of time, allowing him to duck under the hook kick with mere moments to spare. The foot soared over his head, grazing his golden locks of hair as it passed.
With his new low angle, Olibu decided to take his chance. Acting quick, the Human Legend leapt upwards, attempting to uppercut the Super Saiyan as he soared upwards. Regardless of his success, he'd continue to fly up until he reached a fair distance, before quickly plummeting down. With immense speed, he'd try ramming into the Saiyan with both of his fists, but unlike Articho's ramming attempt from earlier, this one was all too real!

Articho cursed under his breath as his kick soared over Olibu's head. He tried twisting about out of the way of the human's incoming uppercut, though the fist still caught a majority of his chin and jaw, knocking his head back and giving him a view of Olibu as he turned in the air and shot back down towards him. The hybrid pushed off the ground with his feet, back flipping out of the attack's path. He placed the heels of his hands together before drawing them back next to his hip. A blue ball of ki formed between his cupped palms. "Kaaaaameeee..." he began to shout, only barely registering what Olibu said.
Articho froze, before dropping his hands and straightening. He turned towards King Kai, a slack jaw expression of disbelief on his face. "OK, hold on. Time out," the young hybrid said, putting his hand in "timeout" gesture. "500 years? Look, I really want to train and learn up here and I'm sure you've got tons of sage knowledge to teach me, but I've got things to take care of on Earth. I can't let everyone down there deal with threats while I just chill in safety up here."

"Five Hundred years is a stretch!" King Kai shouted from below, floating up towards Articho. "That particular student was a bit of a slow learner... Took him 50 years just to get to the end of Snake Way! You're already miles ahead of him, and that's saying a lot! In hindsight I regret training that schmuck but what can ya do..." He pondered his old actions for a moment, before waving the thought off. "Go ahead and continue your fight.""Finally!"Olibu raced skyward, hands outstretched as he rocketed towards Articho. He'd attempt to tackle the Half-Saiyan out of the sky, intent on dropping the both of them right into the dirt below!

Articho breathed a sigh of relief, half for not having to stay in Heaven for 500 years and half at the reassurance that he wasn't the worst thing to stumble its way on to King Kai's planet. "You had me worried there for a second," the young hybrid said with a laugh. "Thank God I won't have my mother meet me in Heaven. She'd kill me a second time!" As he finished his sentence, Articho paused and looked down at King Kai. He scratched his head in confusion. "Now that I think about it, is that the right term? 'Cause Kami is God, so do you say 'Thank Kami?' Or since Kami was Bing...? Then again, Maeve might be Kami now... Then there's King Kai, who sort of is a god..." Articho's voice trailed off as his mind began to wander about the proper semantics of what higher power to thank. He missed King Kai's continuation of his and Olibu's fight and was subsequently hit with Olibu's tackle without much resistance. The hit shook Articho from his pondering. He looked at ground as the plunged closer towards it, though he wouldn't have the chance to loosen the human's grip soon enough to reverse the slam onto Olibu. The hybrid grit his teeth, then roared loudly as he sent his energy into overdrive. Instantly, his muscles bulked up to insane proportions and his grew longer and spikier. Articho pulled his arms free and grabbed the human's shoulders, attempting to flip in the air and slam Olibu into the ground, followed by two powerful punches aimed at the human's face. ------------------------------ Arti has transformed into Ultra Super Saiyan!
