When it came down to it, Treylech was relieved. Not for the fact that he was going to heaven, but the fact that his mother had gone to heaven. He felt she deserved it. As for himself?
No. He didn’t deserve anywhere near as much. He knew the truth. He was rotten to the core. The fact he had been sentenced to life in paradise was a curse. He didn’t think he deserved to see his mother again.
On his way past the doorway to snake way, he hesitated. He could see through the doorway and how there were endless clouds as far as the eye could see. He could only speculate what lied below the clouds, but he assumed it was a one way trip to hell. He floated through the doorway and over to the edge overlooking the sea of clouds.
He was upset with himself. When his mother had died, he swore he would change for her. He had made a promise that he realized he failed to keep. He wasn’t sure how to face her, even if he were to go to heaven now. He was fairly certain that he had his mind made up.
He hovered near the edge, silently staring off into the white void, debating his next action. He had so many questions for his mother, but none of them really needed to be asked immediately. He tried to shake his head only to realize he technically didn’t have one.
It was kind of a setback, really. While it wasn’t exactly difficult to control his wisp form, a physical body was capable of expressing so much more. He floated back and forth as though pacing. It never felt like he died. He always thought his end would be a little more…. Well, memorable. He knew his course, though. He knew what he had to do, and he figured it was time.
He jumped.
While it wasn’t as much a jump as it was a forward hover and a quick descent. He fell through the clouds to be greeted by a desolate looking wasteland. When he looked back up, he saw clear sky, like the place he fell from didn’t actually exist.
He came to a slow landing and looked around. There were an assortment of different creatures that glanced over at him, but ultimately paid him no mind. He wasn’t that important to them. Just another fallen soul like him.
Like him. Corrupted by some form of messed up indulgence. It was a chaotic world out there, and all he really turned into was another twisted being. He stared blankly up at the sky, questioning his decision only for one brief moment before leveling his view again. Another new beginning for the protagonist of his own story.
No. Not a new beginning. A new chapter in his story. He was only beginning. He would do whatever it took to get back to Earth again. He wasn’t about to quit on Earth just yet.
Something stewed in the back of his mind. A little bit of anger started to brew as he realized his crew hadn’t stepped in. Bing, Raisu, and all the other Z-fighter were nowhere to be seen.
He pushed the thoughts aside. He would deal with them when he got back to Earth. In the meantime, he needed to figure out how to come back from the dead.
