Monologue
I wish I could say that I fought the good fight; but what is the good fight? What is considered good in the eyes of a Universe of such diversity? Diverse idiots, if you ask me. Namekians are gender less egg layers, Arcosians are effeminate pussies, humans are just weaklin's who give Shenron a reason to exist. Then, there is what I am...a Saiyan.
Saiyans are a warrior race. We once served over two thousand years ago as Planet Cleansers. To us, this was a way of life. The legends speak of one who rebelled though, and my mother once told me that this man's son became a legend as well; they say that he came to that blue mudball in space, his intended purpose to destroy it. However, he ended up takin' a different path. He became a hero. A legend.
Hrmf. Old scrolls and legends aside because I never cared for the past. But that bedtime story mother used to tell put me to sleep everynight, and my slumber would be filled with dreams of glory; the glory that comes with bein' a legendary warrior.
Since I was six years old, I trained. I busted my ass daily, a thirst for power and hatred for one man drivin' me. My father, that deadbeat. That fool. He abandoned my mother and I long before I was born; after all, I was conceived when he took advantage of my mother during a mission to Shikk. When I found this out, I decided to do everything in my power not to be the man my father was, but to be the warrior my mother was.
There are some that stand in my way; there always are those who would see me fail. That tree. That other hybrid male with the stupid haircut akin to the fuckin' Beatles. Plato, that pale faced bastard, the would be king of Konats, and the old man. The one who killed me so dishonorably, a fuckin' coward. My rage knows no bounds.
I don't plan to be as good as the legends of old; no, I plan to become better. Faster, stronger, better. The best, surpassin' 'em. Surpassing...her.
Who is "her"? That disease, Arias. She didn't appreciate my effort to be with her! I loved her, but no more. She is dead to me; figuratively and soon, in a literal sense. She was nothin' but a roadblock, and no longer will I be made a fool of!
She is the one that threw my train from it's tracks! She was a distraction at best, and it cracks my heart a bit that she shattered the ring I put on her finger; but all is fair in love and war, yes? I am not some love sick puppy, ya see. She ain't gonna break me. I am and forever will be a Saiyan warrior!
And this...is where my story truly begins. This is where I, Carva, become a warrior worthy to wear the vaunted insignia! My name will be feared when weaklin's speak it, and they will...put respect...on my name!
The good fight? That's the fight you win.
The Fight You Win
Hell wasn't such a bad place. It made him think of home in a way; only hotter. He liked it, especially the screams of the souls which would fall from the world above, having been judged by the big red ogre.
King Yemma was right in his judgement of Carva and the warrior knew it. After all, Carva had caused pain for the sake of causing pain, luster after a hybrid, failed his mission; he'd been a sinner.
But he never once complained about where he ended up. Why should he? Carva was a man who owned his shortcomings and would attempt to better himself.
As he walked along the black sands of Hell, breastplate slung over his shoulder, his muscles rippling he would whistle a hauntingly beautiful tune. Had he gone insane? No. Maybe he finally felt free. Free to do what he wanted, not to be the man that pined after a woman who in the end would only hinder his progress toward his goal.
As he moved along, he could feel his legs beginning to get sore. It didn't help that he decided to keep his weights on, all one ton each. His thinking was that you would put yourself through hell, then you would come out as powerful as the most powerful demons. You, yourself, would be as those demons.
He wiped sweat from his brow as it poured down from his bluish black hair, sighing softly as he felt the burn in his large, muscular legs. "Perhaps flying woulda been a better idea..." He then chuckled to himself, realizing something. "...then again, might help if I knew where I was goin'."
He and Arias had broken up. At first, you could say that the Saiyan was a bit sad until he'd realized something. He was a warrior; he wasn't a lover. Besides, if he wanted, he could have any woman.
The man was tall as a tree, and cast a large, dark shadow. Saiyan women would find his battle scars, one L-shaped one across his left cheek and nose. There were three marks on each pec, symbolic of a ritual he'd endured long ago. "I suppose it ain't always about where you're going. Sometimes it's about where you've been...what you've done."

The young warrior placed a hand over his eyes and stared off into the distance for a moment. A sparkle had caught his eyes here in the deserts of Hell, which would make for a ton of curiosity welling up inside his mind. He narrowed his eyes and looked really hard. What the hell? Are those...palm trees? Blue water? That can't be right...hell doesn't have blue water. Mmm...water. His mouth was as dry as a bone by now, having not drank anything in at least a day.
Naturally, the water itself would be very desirable to the warrior. Still, he was skeptical due to the strange nature of seeing this beautiful sight. Was it a mirage? Could he just be seeing things? In the deserts of Vegeta as well as those on Earth, this had proven to be common. Might as well check it out. It's strange...for someone who's dead, I sure am thirsty.
Carva had a secret. Being so hungry and thirsty, it was no suprise that at this moment his ki would be too weak for him to fly. He'd gotten his new body, but he'd forgotten to eat or drink, having not done so for so long. Still not used to being dead. That was it.
He practically dragged his feet across the sand, leaving a trail behind as he did. No wonder his muscles were so sore. He hadn't been feeding them. His Heavyweights made things all the more difficult, and as he came close to the sparking blue water, he'd see a figure there.
Upon closer inspection, he'd find himself looking up...and up...and up at the shrouded figure, it's ripped clothing blowing in the wind. It's bones would be half exposed like a skeleton, whereas it's neck muscles would lead down to a muscular upper body, black wings jutting out of it's back. The creature stood silent for a moment before it finally spoke, it's voice cold and monotone. "Have you a staring problem, Saiyan? If so, I can kindly remove it. You don't need your eyes, do you?"
This thing was quite bold, to be sure. It was almost a challenge for the warrior personally. But a more intelligent Carva replied with a smirk. "Oh, I don't need my eyes. I could beat any man without them. Why such hostility, bone man? Someone piss in your Bao Flakes, or you always a dick?"
Emotionless. The creature said not another word to the warrior who was so bold as to insult him. But who was he? Was he even a he? This creature stared at itself in the blue water, a dull green aura surrounding it.
Carva could feel this monster's ki, an unfamiliar ki to be sure. He'd never felt such a power emanating from any living being, and this fact made him excited. He almost wanted to challenge the monster. And if he wanted to challenge it? You damned sure better bet that he wanted to win. He folded his arms over his chest, an irritated huff coming from his nose. "Well aren't you more fun than a barrel of monkeys. What's wrong, ugly? Cat got your tongue?" Carva arched a brow. "Do you even *have* a tongue?"
He heard the ghostly voice of the creature ringing in his ears, as cold and harsh as ever. "I do not need a tongue, as you can see. Now buzz off, Saiyan. I want to be alone."
"Sheesh..." Carva grumbled and squatted down toward the water. Reaching into his belt, he pulled forth a canteen. Uncapping it he began filling the leather canteen with the fresh water. "...you're about as bad as that woman I was with. Terrible people skills." He joked, drinking the water thirstily, before filling his canteen again.
The creature's hollow eyes fell on Carva, more like glowing green coals. It's eyes were like fire, and intensified as the Saiyan drank from the only fresh pond in Hell, a low growl coming from the taller skeletal monster. "Excuse me..."
The Saiyan pushed his bluish back mane out of his face as he poured the water on it, slicking it back. He looked up at the creature, tilting his head, a few strands of hair falling to the side. "Why? Did you pass gas or somethin'?" Not a hint of fear in the Lone Warrior's voice, he joked at what he thought was just a ghost. He hadn't realized that ghost didn't have ki signatures. Carva was smart, but the Land of the dead was still new to him.
The creature's robes flowed outward like acrid, black smoke as Carva would cause the water to ripple. He wasn't happy for some reason, his voice entering Carva's mind once more. "No, you fool. If you'd take a moment to look into the pond, then you can understand why I want you to leave it be!"
Carva narrowed his eyes. What the Hell is this guy talking about? He waited for the ripples to fade before he once again looked into the pond. Looking down into the still, supernaturally glowing water would make Carva's body go cold for a moment. When he saw the creature's reflection, he saw just that...the creature. But when he looked at what he thought was his own reflection, something different.
His hair was aglow with golden energy in his reflection, his eyes a bright teal color. The strangest thing was, he was smiling...wearing...Earth clothes. And he was holding two children, a small boy in blue shorts and an SSE T-shirt with blue hair, and Carva's facial features. Then, a little girl with a tail, chin length, smooth black hair. She wore a purple dress. But...he swallowed back a lump in his throat...Arias was there...he growled, seeing what appeared to be a family portrait. "Creature! What the HELL is this?! This isn't right, this is demon magic!"
He could hear a chuckle in his mind as the creature explained exactly what Carva had seen. "What this is, Saiyan, is the Pool of Reflection. Long ago, many denizens of Hell would come here because they were tortured. This magical pond would show them what their heart truly des-"
"-bullshit! I don't desire that, that isn't what I want! I want only power, demon!" Carva visibly shook, his lip trembling. His veins popped out of his forehead as a huge, orange aura blazed out from his body. "...s-s-she has...she has no hold on me! I refuse to believe your stories! Lies!" The battle hardened warrior refused to cry as he glanced once again at the Pond of Reflection. The children and their parents were playing together...on Vegeta.
The shaken warrior would hear the skeletal monster's voice in his mind. "Run from the truth if you wish, Saiyan. I was once just like you. I once had it all, I was the most handsome, most powerful warrior on Konats. I had a beautiful wife, three wonderful children..." the creature's voice remained as cold as ice. "...I was a Prince of Men. Then, I became greedy...I died...and ended up here, as this Beast. You only see what your heart desires, Saiyan. Stop denying it."
His rage combined with a deepening sadness would make for a dangerous cocktail. The two reflections would be seen together, both on Super Saiyan form, sitting side by side on twin thrones of Vegeta. Carva's knees began to weaken and buckle, his vision blurred with a salty burning. He almost bowed, he almost lost it...until...
He steeled himself. He stood strong, like a true warrior. He turned his attention to the former Konatsian as he swallowed back those tears of sadness, his orange aura rising from his body...licking the air like flames. The Saiyan's tail slipped from around his waist and swayed behind him, as he spoke between bared teeth, venomous anger dripping from every word. "I don't believe in fairy tales, beast. How DARE you try and sway me from my quest! Hrmf..." He put his right foot foward, turning sideways as he folded his arms across his massive chest. He closed his eyes with a sinister grin, once again speaking. "...if you're so tortured, then perhaps someone should end your suffering so that you don't rely on stupid fairie magic to be...happy."
The creature would turn to Carva, it's boney hand moving forth from it's shadowy form, black smoke pouring off of it. The sky above darkened as the creature materialized a long scythe with a gnarled grey handle, it's firey green aura rising into the stormy skies. "You cynical bastard! It's not a fairy tale, it's all I have! You want to crush your own dreams, then fine! But you will -not- crush mine!"
Carva stood straight, face to chest with the taller warrior. He stared him straight in the eyes, or lack thereof, those flaming green, smoldering coals reminiscent of portals to Hell. Carva smirked. "Bring it, bitch. I will ruin you! I am a Saiyan warrior, I live for battle!"
Lightning split the sky, thunder making the stratosphere tremble as the two took to the air. Shockwaves appeared in the sky, to the north, the west...to the south...every where, each warrior taking the upper hand at different points. Carva opened up with a lightning quick flurry on the creature as the two of them fought, pushing it back across the sky quickly. The creature swung it's scythe downward, Carva fading out for a moment before reappearing behind the giant, driving both fists into it's shoulder blades.
As the creature flew downward, he flipped to face the Saiyan, throwing it's Scythe at Carva, the blade just cutting the Saiyan's cheek as Carva flew to the side. Looking at the creature, blood trickling down to his chin, Carva yelled. "You'll have to do better than that, Konatsian!"
The creature would respond in kind, the scythe turning like a boomerang and flying back toward Carva. The warrior didn't see it coming, crying out in pain as the blade pierced through his back, blood spraying forward as the blade reappeared...still stuck in him. His heart, to be exact.
Carva slowly would descend to the ground, landing...Falling to a knee. Coughing, a chunk of bloody tissue would fall on the black sands. Carva though, would grin through bloody teeth, and taunt the creature. "Is that...-cough cough- you've got, monster? I've...I've..."
The creature would materialize in front of the injured Saiyan, holding a hand out. It's hand would "light up" with those same green flames, and it'd clinch it's boney fingers into a fist. Carva felt the searing pain in his heart as the blade busted into flames. "Not so confident now, are we Saiyan? You see, we Konatsians...we have a monster inside of us all. Some of us keep that monster trapped inside, while others...like myself..." it held two fingers out and motioned upwards, lifting the warrior into the air. "...we embrace the demon! We become superior!"
As the creature once again clenched it's bony fist, this prompted Carva to growl. He gargled a bit as blood gushed from his mouth, pooling in the sands. But still...no matter how painful this was...how powerful the Konatsian Monster was...he refused to cry out. He simply spoke few words as he grabbed the scythe from his back and began to pull. "Superior...-pants-...don't...make..." his growl deepened, eyes flashing with new energy. "...me laugh! You Konatsians may HAVE a...-cough cough- a monster..." as he pulled the scythe free, he'd fall to his feet. "..but...I AM A MONSTER!"
Once again, the two would clash in the center of the oasis, each punch knocking trees over. Every single thrust of his fist, Carva thought about Plato...each punch going into the creature's stomach with far more ferocity than the other. The creature reared it's hand back, green ki glowing between it's fingers before it thrusts forward and fired it's blast into Carva's chest point blank.
Carva flew backwards, striking the ground hard and bouncing a few times. The bones in his new body would crack and pop as he hit the ground hard, rolling over onto his back with his arms outstretched. Steam arose from the Saiyan's burned flesh as he laid there motionless.
The creature stepped over to the downed warrior, looking him over. It simply shook it's head and turned it's back, moving back over toward the Pond of Reflection.
"Ha...ha...."
The creature stopped, in mid stride. Slowly, it turned it's head back to see Carva, standing up...holding his chest, battered...burned...bloodied. "You fool. You don't give up, so you?"
"Ha....haha...hahaha..." his body racked with immense pain, his eyes blurred from dizzying blood loss...Carva continued to laugh. "Hahaha...hahahahaha! Haha!"
"Stop laughing, you stupid monkey!" The demonic Konatsian would bellow as it charged forward, scythe raised high into the air. As he got close, he slashed downward, an arc of green energy following the blade...
CLANG!!!
Carva threw his arms up in an X, the blade colliding with his lead Heavyweights. Sparks would fly into the face of Carva as he fought against the force of the blade, his legs and body trembling. The Saiyan just laughed louder.

"HA!"
"HA!"
"HA!"
"HA!"
"HA!"
"HA!"
"You can't beat me! You won't beat me, your efforts?! They are futile!" Carva kicked the creature away with all of his strength, sending it sliding across the sand. The Saiyan would then fly backwards, spreading his arms wide. His ki would skyrocket as he did this, lightning streaking across the sky, thunder rumbling. He pushed himself beyond his limits, especially as the creature advanced on him.
Orange orbs appeared in the palm of each hand, growing to the size of large basketballs, brimming with electricity. Then...as if in slow motion, just as the creature got close..."HARBINGEEEEEEERRRRR OMEEEEEEEGAAAAA!" His hands came together, a huge wave of lightning arced ki engulfing the creature...the creature obliterated in the brilliant light.
Silence.
Carva panted, barely able to stand. His entire body was bruised, especially an area around his ribs. Bruised and broken, his arms hung before him. He couldn't stand up straight, having been exhausted. Looking at the ashes of the Konatsian, he half smiled...pride beaming in his eyes.
Then...his gaze went to the pond once more, in which he saw the same scene. Arias...him...their children. Living happily on Vegeta. Carva would growl before picking up his armor once more, then filling his canteen. As the ripples once again subsided, Carva just shook his head...and walked away.
