So, I've been spending a lot of time contemplating my activity on WoD: Souls. There aren't always other people available to RP with, but I have a VERY difficult time with not growing bored with having predictable outcomes in my Solo threads, as a result of managing my own NPCs. I think I once proposed that we "should have" had a feature where someone could (regardless of the status of their own Active RPCs) RP as an NPC *I* created, and interact in the thread, to keep my muse alive as my character's story unfolds.
Well, I can be a bit absent-minded, and I forgot about this train of thought today, until someone brought up (in the C-Box) that they were bored and couldn't think of anything to do IC. Then the thought occurred to me, "Wouldn't it be cool if our more introverted players/characters could have the comfort and privacy of a Solo thread, but they could still be immersed in a world with unpredictable outcomes, without having to risk/fear unwanted advances <violent, sexual, etc> from other characters?"
So, I would like to formally propose this as either:
This is something I would really like to do to help out more, and I think there are others who might like to do it too. Sometimes, either our character isn't getting the action they would like, or our characters are locked in threads, and we would JUMP at the opportunity to still get some RPing in.....meanwhile, people who could use some lively NPCs in their threads could ALSO get some help, hitting two birds with one stone!
Either way, I would propose these (if Staff approves) tentative rules/parameters:

So, I would like to formally propose this as either:
- Allow players the privilege of NPC'ing for other players, along with clear parameters, such as having to indicate in each post the name/identity/purpose of the NPC they were playing, along with a picture of said NPC, for the sake of moving solo/etc threads along (Community)
- Designating a Non-Staff, Volunteer role ("NPC Guide") for individuals who do not mind volunteering their time and effort to helping their fellow members out
- Designating a Staff Role, but one not requiring any actual Staff Permissions (Lock, Unlock, Delete, Bump, etc), for individuals whose sole staff duty would be to perform this function for the players.

Either way, I would propose these (if Staff approves) tentative rules/parameters:
- The person whose RPC is the main character of the thread has to be the one to design/create the NPC (unofficially, officially, whichever)
- This could be a volunteer, No-Benefit role...or we could maybe offer small Zeni Rewards for the person who is NPCing for the Original Poster (under a "Community Service" clause)
- The person NPCing for them must conform to the Personality/Appearance specs set by the Original Poster. The Original Poster and the person NPCing would be communicating via Private Message (Staff can, if the case of conflict, review and confirm the validity of PMs better than off-site mediums) to make sure the NPCing is being done to that player's specifications.
- As a sort of written/unwritten rule, people NPCing have to conform to the Original Poster's wishes for the NPC's personality, nature (unless the person NPCing is given leave to stray a bit from the original design), but the Original Poster has to be willing to be flexible, since another player may or may not be able to play an NPC 150% along the parameters the Original Poster thought up.
- To maybe preempt Exploitation, maybe we can limit this feature to a specific type of thread, such as "Solos" and "Moderated Threads" (where more than one RPC is involved, but they want a third-party to determine the behavior and actions of the NPCs).
