South Capitol was currently bustling with activity as people walked the streets. A mixture of humans and zoanthropes populated the area, each individual with their own agenda or errand to complete. A group of teenage girls laughed as they chatted up a storm while their helpless boyfriends carried towers of bags and boxes behind them. A family of four made their way through the crowd to make it to the carnival that was taking place not far from their location. Truly, the city was a melting pot for all sorts of people.
Kale was among the crowd, keeping his tail wrapped around his waist as he normally did in populated areas. It was mainly out of fear for scaring people away. He was a good-natured person by all means, but wounds take time to heal. And it would be a long time before people realized that not all Saiyans were just like the monsters that invaded Earth over a year ago. Before long, the Saiyan reached a food vendor. He was hungry at the time, so it would be a good idea to grab a bite to eat. After paying for his meal, Kale chowed down on the ramen and beef.
The day was going by swimmingly for Kale. After staring the day early for some training, it was good to take some time to relax. After all, too much work and no rest could prove to be detrimental to one's health. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

It wouldn't be long before the sounds of panic screams were heard, and people began running away from something heading in Kale's direction. Soon enough Kale was alone, and the streets were barren. Thats when the soft tapping of boots would be heard. A woman of charcoal skin turned a corner. Her crimson red hair, along with black and red horns made it quite obvious she wasn't human. Not to mention the red markings on her face that scaled down her back and her chest. Her dressed seemed to hug her body in all the right ways, leaving little to the imagination.
A huff came from the woman's lips as she spoke. "How rude. Running away from me because I don't look like they do..." She held her staff tightly in her hand and shut her eyes. "Humans are such sad creatures. So weak and afraid of things they don't understand..."
She'd turn her head slowly, only for her gaze to stop on Kale. She'd stare at him for some time with her smouldering yellow eyes before turning towards him fully. "You aren't running away." She said, walking towards him. "So you are either not human, or braver than the rest..." She let out a soft laugh before looking to him up and down. "So which is it?"

Kale turned to face the newcomer of South Capitol. Examining her features, the Saiyan noticed that she was not human in the slightest. He was confused and concerned by the fleeing people of the city. He didn't expect them to react in such a way because of someone's appearance. The worst that he ever witnessed was dirty looks because of his tail. But to actually run in terror from a single person? That was drastic even for the most prejudiced humans.
When Xanara voiced her inquiry to Kale, he came to a realization. This being must never have met a Saiyan before. Not one to be rude to strangers, despite outward appearances, Kale offered a faint, friendly smile. "Well to be honest, both." He responded to who he didn't realize was a demon in the flesh. "And I don't have a reason to run away. After all, I don't judge people on their appearances. Only on their character. To be fair, I kinda know how you feel. There have been a few people who have judged me on my appearance. But for different reasons."
Kale was an inquisitive person. Out of the people he had met on this planet so far, all appeared to be the friendly type. But this woman...It was a little difficult for the Saiyan to discern what sort of person she was. He hoped that she turned out to be nice. Whatever the outcome, Kale was ready for anything. It just didn't make any sense to him! Why would people just abscond from the area just because of what someone looked like?

Xanara took in Kale's words with an inquisitive look on her face. "Both?" She asked. She narrowed her eyes. "Are you another one of those... Saiyans?" She huffed. "The last saiyan I met was extremely rude... Asking me if I was going to destroy a city just because of how I looked." She frowned. "I don't look that scary do I?" She asked. She brought a hand up to her hair, moving a strand from her face. "I try my best to look presentable...."
When he mentioned that he didn't judge people by looks she smiled softly before coming closer. She'd offer Kale her hand. "Well its good to know at least someone here isn't a bigot." She giggled softly before speaking. "My name is Xanara Redhive."

So, Xanara had met Saiyans before. No wonder why he got the occasional stink eye. It turned out that there were a few Saiyans on Earth who liked to cause trouble. When would they learn? Kale thought it would be best to reassure his new acquaintance. "Well, I can assure you. I'm not like the other Saiyans. I may have only lived on this planet for a short time, but my parents raised me the best they could. And I don't jump to conclusions, either."
Kale gracefully accepted Xanara Redhive's hand, and gave it a gentle handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Xanara." he would reply before releasing her hand and relaxing his own back at his side. "My name is Kale." Her question about her appearance garnered another examination on Kale's part. He looked over all of her features before developing the proper response.
"Well, I don't think you look scary." he finally replied to the Demon. "In fact, you actually look, dare I say, beautiful." A smile broadened across his lips. Now that he thought about it, this woman actually looked attractive. But he would keep that to himself, for now. "What brings you here to South Capitol anyway?"

Xanara took a step closer towards Kale as he spoke. "I only just arrived on this planet..." She said softly. Her grip on his hands during their handshake was quite, well airy. There wasn't any real power behind it. She giggled softly. "Kale? That's adorable." When the handshake was done she took a step back and straightened out her dress just a bit before he complimented her.
"Beautiful?" She asked, bringing one of her hands to her cheeks, which were now blushing a soft crimson. "Oh you are just saying that. trying to butter me up so you can sweep me off my feet and have your way with such a dainty lady~" She giggled softly.
"As for why I am here... I'm mostly just exploring. Its my first time here after all and I want to know as much as I can about my future home." she said softly. She looked Kale up and down once more before she smiled. " You know your kinda cute."

The Demon's remark took Kale by surprise. She thought that he was cute? He had never been told that by anyone before, save his mother when he was a child. Xanara's statement caused a slight shade of red to spread across his cheeks.
"You...You think I'm cute?" the Saiyan asked, wanting to confirm what Xanara's had said. Now grinning, Kale scratched the back of his neck with his left hand. "Oh. Well, thanks! I'm not used to flattery." The grin faded into a warm, happy smile. This day was actually turning out to be amazing!
The Saiyan folded his arms across his chest, taking a relaxed stance. "Well, welcome to Earth, then! I hope you enjoy it here as much as I have. It really does hold a lot of beauty and potential. It's partly why I came here in the first place."

Xanara smiled as the Saiyan's face grew a hint of red to it. She giggled softly and came to stand besides him. "Who wouldn't think you're cute?" She asked with a pout. She brought up a hand to his arm, letting her hands slowly trace the shape of his muscles. "You are a total hunk. Any girl would be lucky to be considered beautiful by the likes of you..."
She smiled wider, softly taking his hand in her own before speaking. "Why don't you show me around?" She asked, softly squeezing his hand. " Surely you aren't too busy to spend some time with me? You are the only person who isn't afraid after all."

The red on Kale's face would only grow brighter once Xanara began to feel his muscles with the tips of her fingers. It didn't help when the attractive woman gently grasped his hand. The Saiyan was no stranger to the world of being sweet on a girl. He once had a romantic interest on planet Vegeta, after all. But that was a long time ago, and he never had any romantic experiences since.
"Why, sure!" he replied to Xanara when she made her request. "This isn't my first time to South Capitol, so I don't mind giving a tour." Kale offered a friendly smile. The blush on his face began to fade away, now. He considered himself so lucky to have found friendly individuals since he arrived on Earth.

Xanara giggled softly. She'd wrap an arm around Kale's and would gently lean on him. "Well then, Lets get to it shall we~?" She purred. "I am not a busy girl, but I have a few things I need doing later. So lets do this thing."

Kale felt a hint of excitement from the prospect of spending time with Xanara Redheart. However, he didn't know how much of a good time he would be able to show her. Especially if people in this city would just run away in fear. The last thing that Kale wanted was to have the day ruined.
"You know," the Saiyan began, "I'm curious. I've never seen people just run away like that based on someone's looks. This world has such diversity." Kale looked to Xanara, now. "I mean, sure, you have horns and glowing eyes, but you don't look scary at all. Not to me, at least. Do you have any idea as to why they would just run away like that?"
It was certainly a troubling dilemma for Kale. He tried to think of what he two could do today without having to worry about pedestrians spoiling the mood. "I just don't want your day to be ruined. Are you sure you won't mind taking you on a tour while people flee in horror?"

"Well from what I've been told by my master... Humans are afraid of things they don't understand. And we demons... well we aren't exactly the most open of creatures when it comes to our secrets." She frowned lightly, making little circles on Kale's arm with a finger. "They run because they don't understand that I'm not here to hurt them... or anyone really." She looked up to his face, her yellow eyes smouldering.
"I do want to take the tour~ I'm going to be staying here a while after all!"

Xanara Redheart's words of reassurance successfully put the Saiyan's mind at ease. He knew first-hand what it was like to feel misunderstood. Surely, the demon's expression was sincere. Kale saw no harm in having an outing with her. But then, Kale realized what she had said. "Wait. You're a demon?" There was not fear in his voice. Rather, his tone was an inquisitive one. He had an open mind, so this new tidbit of information didn't bother him.
All in all, Kale saw himself in Xanara. A newcomer to this world, who simply wanted to live in peace. A being who was judged by appearance and background, much like how a minority of the people of Earth judged him for being a Saiyan. "I've never met a demon before." Kale mused, walking along the sidewalk with his arm interlocked in Xanara's. "I guess that gives us something in common, being strangers of Earth."

"Yes, I am a demon..." She would pout at Kale. "T-thats not a problem is it? I'd hate to have met such a nice man only for you to have a bias towards me..." She sighed softly, allowing her head to gently rest on his shoulder.
As they walked Kale spoke, causing Xanara's smile to grow. "I suppose it does give us a bit of a common ground doesn't it?" She asked. "I being from a land unseen by most, and you with your... Hair." A soft giggle escaped her. "Adorable~"

Kale arched a brow from Xanara's comment on his hair. "Huh? Adorable?" he asked while quirking a brow. "What's wrong with my hair? It's not that bad, is it?"
No matter. The Saiyan shrugged it off with a soft, short-lived chuckle. "No, it's not a problem that you're a demon. Why would I have any sort of issue with that? It's not like I'm an over-zealous religious type."
The two continued traveling through the city. But for now, nobody was running in terror like before. It was most likely because they saw the demon being accompanied by someone else. Surely, the sight would help put a majority of people at ease. "Is there anything in particular that you'd like to do, Xanara? There's lots of sights to see here in the city, and tons of tasty food!"
