[ Thread PL: 78,483] [ UT] Liquid Ki - Mist Active! Ki suppressed to 10000] [ Lord Retsu I hope this is easy to work with! :D] "Okay, so I found the hole, I think." Once again, Defrosch had returned to the Fortuneteller's Desert. He was asked to search for an ancient scroll at the request of his friend; Cerci Garyl, the master of a small martial art's school: The Cricket School. The Arcosian had his newly purchased visor scouter on, using it to have a conversation with the Cricket Master. "So do I throw the water balloons down it now?" Juggling a large boulder in one hand, he would ask her a few more questions. "Ahaha, you really went for the holy water water balloon thing? Wow, all the contingencies or bust, huh?" Defrosch grumbled, thankfully it was an audio only call or Cerci's sides would've split with laughter; the Arcosian's expression was absolutely priceless. "Too far?" Defrosch threw the boulder off to the side before having a good stretch. "Eh. I know you're good for it. What else do I need'a know?"Their conversation would then resume, all the while with Defrosch keeping an eye on his surroundings; both with his ki sense and the functions of the scouter.

As per the usual with Lord Retsu, he rushed through the sky at high speeds. He was exploring the planet once more, now having come to a place he'd never seen before. A desert that was rather hot, though it didn't bother Retsu much. He sighed softly as he continued through the sky, until his scouter let out a beep, warning him of a power level nearby.
"Can't go any where without this thing going off." He muttered. He sighed softly and stopped in the air. "If I don't investigate it, now doubt it will come to investigate me." He weighed his options before he would lower himself down. It wasn't long before he landed behind the other Arcosian. He blinked, having not expected to see one of his own kind here, or at all.
"Oh. Well this is a surprise." He said with a smile. "Good Afternoon to you good Sir." He spoke. "I didn't think I'd find another of our kind on this planet."

"Ahuh. Avoid the third left turn that has the sideways cross emblem on it... You know for a fact that I'm gonna go back for that stuff later yeah?" Defrosch gave a cocky snort as he shifted another rock slightly. In that moment he noticed an irregular presence coming right his way. "Actually, I'll call you back..." With a sudden serious tone coming from the Arcosian, Cerci knew that he would be extra busy for an undetermined amount of time. "Understood. Leap in good faith, my friend."
Looking over his shoulder, Defrosch noted the arrival of another Arcosian. 'Ah. Fantastic.' He though as he coughed lightly and turned to face the newcomer. "T'is an afternoon that could be better in some respects." Defrosch replied with a fairly snooty and rather heavily Arcosian accent. "I don't suppose you are here on business? Perhaps to respond to Captain Koldar's summons? Ah- where are my manners-" Defrosch didn't want to give the other Arcosian his first name, at this point that would be reserved for friends only. "I'm Agent Vroze, of the ICE-Ops. What of yourself?"

"Oh?" He asked after Defrosch's statement about the day being better. " Why do you say that? Things seem to be rather well on this planet." He'd take the time to look Defrosch up and down, trying to get a judge of his personality based on his appearance before looking back up to his face when he spoke again.
"I can't say I am." he said. " Nor have I heard of this Koldar you speak of. You see I only just crash landed about a week ago on this planet." He crossed his arms and smiled. "Its good to meet you Agent Vroze." He'd bring a hand to his chest and bow rather deeply. "I am Lord Retsu. I suppose you'd call me an Ex-general of the Arcosian Empire. Seeing as it doesn't much exist well enough any more from what I've heard." He shrugged for a moment before smiling. " Its nice to see others though.

"Indeed, in our immediate vicinity. However- and please excuse my pessimism- any world has its fair share of blithering idiots." Defrosch made a rather pompous snort and shrugged. "To that end, there are those less fortunate than I on this lovely bauble of a planet. Alas, I cannot be everywhere to ensure a decline in tomfoolery." While speaking in a tone and with an accent that he regularly would not, there was a fair amount of truth behind what he was saying. Earth did indeed have a surplus of bad people, and as much as Defrosch wished, he could not put a stop to all of it.
Defrosch returned Retsu's introductory bow. "I see. Well, I feel that it might very well be courteous of me to inform you that Captain Koldar Frost is working towards a reunification of our scattered people. Now, I had only met him recently, but last we spoke, he had found a few new recruits... He is an old... Erm..." Defrosch winced for a moment. "...'Friend' of my father; Lord Sleete, a former general much like yourself. Well, as far as the word friend goes, anyway. My father happened to be a massive prick." He nodded. Once again, behind the acting was yet more truth. ""Before you ask however; no. I am not part of his crew. I work alone, to my own agenda. Put simply, I am merely doing my duty in regards to informing you. So, should you be interested, Koldar may be contacted on the Ærco53-188 channel."
Much like Retsu had done, Defrosch looked the old lord up and down as well. It was a good thing that the youngster had been growing less judgemental of his own people, but in the end the experiences in his youth are what they are. Aside from a small portion of his family, In order for Defrosch to consider another Arcosian at his age or older to be a friend, or anything more than a throwaway acquaintance there was much work to be done.

"I see." was Retsu's response to Defrosch's first bit. "Well I suppose that's true with any world as you said. Every planet has its share of fools and idiots, though, i'm sure on some planets they don't live very long." He chuckled softly, and fell silent as Defrosch continued.
"Reunification?" He asked. "Why that.... sounds like a fools errand. I'm sure while our people are scattered and disorganized, we will do well on our own and recover in time. I'm also sure some of the more Prideful of our race will now bow to this Captain..." He frowned thinking to himself for a few moments. "What he is doing is admirable I must admit, but I can only really see it ending in complete and utter failure..." He shook his head. "I've already heard that there have been wars between planets in our empire that are Waring with one another to either gain their freedom from our weakened infrastructure, or because another lord is getting power hungry and wants more to themselves."
He'd however bow his head to Defrosch. "Either way thank you for at least telling me. I'll keep this information in mind when I make a few large decisions coming up in my life soon."

What amused Defrosch the most about this encounter, is the fact that in some bizarre, backwards roundabout way, Retsu was of a similar mind; a lone wolf... Surely for radically different reasons, but the sentiment was much the same. "Indeed, there are an insurmountable slew of potential problems with what he wishes to do at this juncture." Defrosch scoffed. "Of course, now you know why I am following my own goals instead. I must say, there is more to the universe than our people would be lead to believe."
He shrugged as he spoke, lifting another rock and throwing it aside, off into the sand. "As I said, simply passing along knowledge. So, what have you to say of this planet thus far?"

Retsu offered a nod to Defrosch as he spoke. "I can certainly see why. Perhaps its better our kind stay the way we are now. Unification would only cause.... Chaos..." He said "In due time however the Empire will no doubt rise again, and be the most powerful. But that will take time, and i doubt it will be in our time."
He watched Defrosch toss the rock before looking back to him as he spoke. "Well its appreciated for what its worth." He said. At His question Retsu blinked. " This planet?" He asked. " Its... honestly quite beautiful. If I ruled this planet I would do my damnedest to keep it safe and as beautiful as possible. A world truly worthy of conquering."

"Perhaps. It says a lot about us if all we can hold onto is... Well, overcompensating. What point is there to power if we have no idea how to use it? If it results in such an incident? What is needed now, is not brute force like most believe; but rather tact and finesse." Ignorance was never useful trait to have. It payed to have knowledge, knowledge was power, and knowledge was a thing Defrosch had.
He knew about the of the Tree Of Might. He knew of Koldar's intents. Now, if what Retsu's words held any form of truth; he knew of the discord that the Empire was suffering... Of course, an unfortunate form of fallout resulting of the initial disaster. Defrosch could only hope the few smart and morally sound would simply leave- they had no reason to suffer further because of the corrupt majority!
What Retsu said next gave Defrosch an idea... "Hm... I have a challenge for you. Try to do so regardless. One need not be a ruler to do something of significance, after all." On one hand, this could result in an Arcosian with a conscience, someone capable of reason... On the other hand, such a notion could result in Defrosch getting an Arcosian shaped punching bag.
Either way, Defrosch would see it as a win/win.

He sighed for a moment as defrosch spoke. "Sadly your words are true. Our race has such natural born strength, and yet all we do is flaunt it about it seems. We are dangerous, we are strong. But most of us seem to be blood thirsty, or just don't understand how to treat others with respect. As for brute force or Finesse I agree with you on this point. What we need right now isn't a leader whom can kill and maim. But one who can write and speak. One who can so eloquently word their speeches to rally our people." He shrugged. "I however doubt such a leader exists...."
"A challenge?" Retsu asked, when Defrosch spoke up. "You... Want me to defend this planet regardless of if I own it or not?" He brought a hand up to his chin and thought for a few moments. "... Well on the one hand it would give me purpose to some degree... On the other..." He frowned. "There are beings so much stronger than me here that I'd hardly stand a chance..." He tapped his foot as he weighed his options, his tail slowly whipping about. After a few minutes of consideration he spoke again. "I suppose I shall accept this challenge. The Pros out weigh the cons rather dramatically."

'Huh. That wasn't too hard.' Of all potential possibilities, Defrosch didn't expect such a challenge to be so readily accepted. In truth, he fully expected the entirely opposite reaction. "You are correct; there will always be someone stronger. T'is some bizarre law of the universe, it seems. That does not mean one will always remain weak, however. To put it simply; we who have purpose will improve over time through our experiences." Defrosch also tapped his chin and nodded sagely. "Furthermore..." He began, raising a finger in such a manner to indicate the importance of what he was to say next. "I am of the belief that nothing which is truly worth doing, is ever done easily."
This could be said for any greater goal, be it just and heroic or vile and cruel. Defrosch would simply hope Retsu would not succumb to the latter, even if he potentially already leans towards it.

Retsu chuckled. "I agree. Without purpose my abilities would be stunted. I would not grow in strength, or learn from my actions...." he crossed his arms. " But with a purpose like this... I should be able to flourish into something great.... Hopefully." He shook his head before smiling and speaking once more. "Nothing worth doing is Ever easy." He said. "That's the first thing we are taught. You know this. Any self respecting Arcosian should be willing to work hard to achieve their goals. Such as conquering a planet, or becoming stronger." He shrugged. " Those that don't... well..." He frowned. "Those kind of people don't usually survive long..."

Defrosch shrugged slightly. He knew that there were many that squandered their gifts, or grew complacent... Primarily because he quite often clashed with such people on a semi-regular basis. "I am actually surprised that you didn't spit in my face when I suggested it. Perhaps I just know far too many people that would react like that."
As Retsu continued, Defrosch nodded. It was indeed one of the first concepts he was taught... Maybe one of the only ones he held onto, considering who was teaching him at the time. "Well, of course. I simply tend to run into people that need reminding of that fact."
Rolling his shoulders, Defrosch raised an eyebrow at Retsu. He was still interested in what the ex-lord was capable of. "Hmhm, would you perhaps accept yet another challenge? I curious to know what passes for the strength of a lord nowadays."

"Why would I spit in your face?" He asked, his expression that of surprise. "That is so rude and uncouth. What uncivilized beings have you interacted with? Surely nothing of any importance."
"Well its good you remind them." He said. "Since I arrived on this planet I've been getting into skirmishes now and again. Nothing too dangerous, but enough of a challenge to consider it training to some extent." he chuckled.
"Another challenge, you say?" He asked. He listened to Defrosch's words and a frown came over his face. "I'm afraid You might be quite dissapointed. As it stands I'm not as strong as most of our kind. IN fact I'm quite weak. But where I lack in strength I like to think I make up for in intelligence... That however is not a brag."

"Uhh...?" Defrosch tilted his head to the side slightly, apparently Retsu took some things quite literally. A very typical Arcosian trait in Defrosch's eyes. "Its just a figure of speech. You'll figure out those sorts of things in due time, pay it no mind." He waved off Retsu's concerns, it would be better for him to learn things first hand rather than be given some infodump.
"Hm? I'll be disappointed you say? Hm." He gave a short pause before a slight smirk could be seen in his expression as Retsu continued to speak. "Well, you already seem to know there is more to it than brute force. I can tell you right now that that much alone covers for physical weakness. Besides... I can say the same of myself; I also prefer brain over brawn." Defrosch eyed Retsu, waiting for the Lord's response, as he slowly made his power rise up from within.
