The impact was akin to running full force into a tree, but luckily the half-Saiyan managed to knock the amazonian woman over. She tumbled across the concrete as the energy blasted the spot they had been seconds ago, erupting in a haze of searing heat and a high-pitched hum. A quick twist into a roll found her feet under her again, letting her stop. She glanced up at her stolen ship, her senses honing in on the foe with the heavy artillery. As she did, she turned her head to listen to Viktara's shocked exclamation.
"You were in trouble," she said, as if it explained everything. To be honest, it was just reflexes and a bit of pity, but Lily had other things on her mind.
Ki rippling around her, she shot into the air, making a straight shot for the Wayfinder. As she flew upwards, the gun-toting thug returned to the open hatch with more weaponry on hand. As soon as the first shot fired, Lily realized she was in trouble. Her body twisted with a rapid jerk, turning around and shooting back downward ahead of the attacks. She had to get back to cover, the nearby buildings being the best option. Aiming for a good angle, she turned her body to skim along the side and veer at the last moment before she crashed into the ground.
She narrowly managed to edge around the corner as the energy shots crashed into the ground behind her. She hit the ground in another hard roll and came to a hard stop against a wall.
A puzzled expression hung over the Heran’s face after hearing Lily’s reply. The girl's actions still didn't make any sense to her, and voicing her reasoning only added to Viktara’s confusion. Though, regardless of whether or not her intentions were though compassion, or foolishness, Viktara couldn't help but commend the girl for having an honest heart.
Within the moment, the girl was back in the air, leaving Viktara still in a semi-dazed state mulling over what just happened. She watched the Saiyan warrior weave in and out of the hailfire of bullets, narrowly escaping certain death thanks to the same nimble mobility that freed her from the Heran’s own clutches. Now as a third party, she could better appreciate the younger girl’s finesse. Whoever trained her certainly knew their stuff.
“Just lay down and die, Saiyan!” the Zoonian hissed as the thrusters of the looming ship kicked on once more. The large ship now attempting to drift around the low buildings in pursuit of the Saiyan girl. “Hey, now!” Viktara’s fists clenched as she felt her ki swell around them. “Y’all didn’t forget about me, didja?” Jabbing her arms forward, she launched several low-impact ki blasts directly at the ship. The small spheres of energy whistled through the air like fireworks before colliding with the ship. The force of the impact was enough to knock the ship off course, but not enough to deal any lasting damage.
Smirking as it readjusted to face her, she kicked off the ground again before swooping down to street level. With the marksman’s attentions now set on following her, hopefully Lily can find the opportunity launch a counter offensive.
Stumbling to her feet, Lily shook her head and felt beyond the building to the feel of her attacker's Ki. Her aura shimmered as she prepared to attack, but she felt another presence flare up. One she had felt just earlier, which surprised her just a bit. Kicking off the ground, tapping his hands against the wall as she slowed to a stop. Peaking over the roof, she saw her stolen ship veering off from her towards the amazonian woman leading it away. She didn't know if Viktara was intentionally helping out or if she was just mad at her ex-cohorts, but Lily appreciated it all the same.
Pulling herself up with both arms, she bent her knees and set her feet down for a moment before launching herself skyward. She darted through the air, getting some distance above her ship. She stalled in mid-air, flipping backwards before darting down towards the Wayfinder like a bolt of lightning. Making a sharp turn as she reached the open hatch, she swung herself inside at the surprised alien attacker. He took aim, but was too surprised to react, so with deft agility she was able to grab his arm and spin around him with her momentum. She rolled with her throw to lift the Zoonian thug off his feet and tossed him off the Wayfinder.
Recovering in a crouch, Lily looked ahead to the inside of her ship to find the other thug, leaving the falling thug to his unhappy ex-companion.
A stout, yellow Dodorian belted out a girlish shriek in pure terror after witnessing the young warrior breach her ship. “O-OKAY, OKAY! HOOOLD ON! I-I know what you’re probably thinking-” he stuttered in a panic as he suddenly released his grip on the ship’s controls, causing the massive vehicle to suddenly jerk to a halt. “ ‘Should I kill this handsome devil’?... W-Well y’see, the answer MIGHT surprise you!” he added with a nervous chuckle. His laughter almost immediately trailed into a pathetic whimper as the piercing gaze of the Saiyan warrior burned a hole through his spirit. After a short period of silence, the large alien suddenly collapsed onto his hands and knees and proceeded to grovel into the floor. “I’MSORRYI’MSORRYI’MSORRYI’MSORRY PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE DON’T KILL ME!!!” he pleaded, not daring to look the Saiyan in the eyes again.
Outside, Viktara peeked over her shoulder once the roar of gunfire suddenly ceased. A sick grin of satisfaction then crossed her lips as she witnessed the Zoonian traitor get thrown to his gruesome death. His final screams felt oddly cathartic to the woman. It was a familiar feeling that she often tried not to make a habit of reveling in, but this time she made an exception. “Huh, the girl works fast.” she mused as she hovered back towards the ship with folded arms. She entered the airborne vehicle just in time to bare witness to the Dodorian’s pathetic display, eliciting a loud and throaty chortle from the jaded woman. “Ohohohoooh my god, is he grovelin’? You made him GROVEL? That’s HYSTERICAL!!” she said with continued laughter as she wiped a single tear from her eye. "Aaaaahhhhlright, that was great." She raised her arm with an open palm pointing directly at the thug, ki beginning to swirl around it. "Welp, time for'em to die."
Standing and walking forward, the young half-saiyan's aura flared as she clenched her fists. Stumbling out of the cockpit came the other would-be thief, a disgusting looking alien with plenty of false bravado. Despair swept over the coward in no time and he fell to his knees, grinding his face into the floor. Lily wasn't an intimidating physique, at least that's how she felt being a fairly average sized woman. Never the less, her surging Ki and intense stare seemed to cause panic in her scared foe. She stood there as he begged and whimpered, unsure how to progress from there without it being awkward for her. Feeling Viktara approach, she turned to see what she wanted while keeping one eye on the pathetic thief.
"Not in my ship," she spoke up, raising a hand to the other woman and thinking fast. The alien had given up her ship and she got what she wanted, so she didn't want to kill him if she could help it. "I don't want a mess. Well, more of a mess," she noted, glancing around her ever-disorganized second home. Moving past the ugly slug of a man and the violence-prone amazonian, she climbed into the cockpit to start checking systems.
"I'll pull us over to a roof, just toss the trash off the back," she explained. Taking the controls and maneuvering her ship around to the closest building.
The Heran warrior quirked an eyebrow as Lily stood in her way, her grin immediately fading as her gaze flicked to focus on the young girl at her side. “Y’know, I don’t remember taking orders from you?” she sneered as she defiantly held her hand in place for a few moments longer “...But, my ma taught me to have good manners when I’m in someone’s home.” she added before finally dropping it to her side, her power falling along with it as the green Dodorian let out a sigh of relief.
“OHHHH, THANK YOU! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU SAIYAN! YOU’RE AMAZING! YOU’RE A GODDESS! I COULD KISS YOU!!!” the fat alien repeatedly bowed his head again and again to the Saiyan girl as the ship swiveled around. Viktara simply rolled her eyes and folded her arms in response. “Good grief man, show some self respect.” she grunted as she roughly grabbed alien by the collar and dragged him towards the open hatch. “Oh! Almost forgot. Who was it that left that message? You, or the other guy?” she asked as she hoisted the alien up to eye level. “Euuuhhh… Don't be stupid, o-oh course it was the other guy!” He stammered as sweat began to bead off his face. “Huh... Well, either way-” She then released her grip of the thug, dropping him several inches from the air before forcing her fist deep into the man’s chest. The resounding crack from the impact no doubt indicated a broken rib or two, as she then kneed him in the stomach to bounce him down the ramp and roll his body onto the roof below. “That was for the bitch comment. Idiot.” She added before turning back inside.
“Hey, Saiyan girl... No hard feelings ‘bout that whole ‘tryin’ to kill you thing’, right?” she asked while placing her hands on her hips. "A girl's gotta eat, an' all that. You know how it is."
Down on the roof, the Dodorian grit his teeth as he coughed up blood. The warriors chose to spare his miserable life, which was a choice that the two women would soon regret. He slowly reached into his vest pocket and withdrew a worn yellow scouter from within. Tapping the button on the side, he murmured into the device as best he could between grunts of anguish. “The ship… Lazan’s ship… Getting away… Heran and Saiyan bitches… KILL'EM…!”
As she hovered by building, she could hear Viktara dealing with her ex-cohort. The young woman did appreciate that the warrior had kept it at the end of her ship and still dumped the guy on the roof like she asked. After the thug was dropped off, Lily pulled back on the controls before pushing up on the engines to ascend. She didn't want to just hover over the buildings below, especially if their scuffle attracted too much attention. As she flew higher, she punched a few things into the computer to let her take her focus off piloting. With the systems taking over, the half-saiyan was able to shift in her seat to talk to the larger woman.
"No harm done, so I won't hold it against you," Lily shrugged with indifference. "Besides my pant leg that is. My fault though."
She laughed, turning to type a few more things in. "I'm going to head back to the hangar, since I still need to refuel," she explained as she stood up. "If you want, you can ride along until we get there. If so, close the back hatch." She leaned against the wall to pull her boots off, kicking them to the side before unbuckling her belt. She slid her pants off, revealing her slight scuffed but unharmed flight suit underneath. With a critical eye she examined the damage pant leg and scowled, tossing them aside.
"I'll fix them eventually," she muttered as she climbed down the narrow staircase. Further inside her ship she founnd a spare pair of pants, pulling them on. She didn't have anything against Viktara, at this point she was just glad that the woman seemed less blood thirsty. Honestly, she wouldn't be able to beat the colossal warrior in a head on fight anyways, so it was better off to just be friendly and hope for the best.
"Water?" she offered, having returned with two large bottles in hand.
Viktara nodded along to the Saiyan’s invitation. “Well if you’re offerin’, I never say no to free transportation.” The heavy-handed Heran grinned as she smacked the large button with the base of her fist. Among the many things the women learned in prison, a soft touch and a gentle hand was obviously not one of them. “It’s a real nice ship ya got here, by the by.” She commented as her eyes finally scanned vehicle with a more casual gaze. The interior was messy, but well lived in. Moreso than the average traveller freight that solely took you from point A to point B. The woman inwardly deducted that this was either the Saiyan’s only home, or she was just an enormous packrat. ”I can see why those cheap bastards wanted it so bad.” She added, raising her voice a bit as Lily went down below before slumping her body against the back wall.
Once the girl reemerged, Viktara outstretched her hand for the drink before catching herself. “Waaaait a minute, what the hell am I doin’?” She rhetorically asked before slapping her forehead with the palm of her hand. “Screw this, I was raised that if you do wrong by someone, you gotta make it right. We’re goin’ to the bar, I’m buyin’ you a drink, and I ain’t takin’ no for an answer!” She nodded in affirmation before firmly crossing her arms against her chest. The Heran was dead serious, and there likely wasn’t anything the Saiyan could do to change her mind.
The young woman thanked the bulky amazonian for complimenting her ship, a small tinge of pride swelling up in her. Handing the bottle of water to Viktara, the half-saiyan lifted her own bottle to her mouth to guzzle down half the contents in one go. At the woman's invitation, Lily lowered the bottle and looked up to her.
"Sounds nice, but like I said, hangar first. I'm in desperate need of fuel for this thing. Those thugs didn't bother to refuel either, so we're running low. After that, sure."
With that settled, at least she hoped, Lily returned to the cockpit to check the instruments again. The hangar wasn't far from their current position, so she took the wheel to ease them back to port. The promise to go drinking with her new acquaintance meant she would likely after to have an order delivered to the Wayfinder. It didn't matter too much, at least there wasn't any more conflict between the two woman now.
