"Ok, just a little bit to the leeeeeeft," Charlene's tongue poked out the corner of her mouth as she concentrated on lowering the ship, the Pale Rider slowly touching down on an even patch of ground, not far outside of the capital city. It had taken some time, but Porsalynne and Charlene had finally returned from their little errand on Earth. It had taken them a little bit, considering they had to land the ship somewhere secluded, and since neither of them couldn't fly, had to find other ways to get around the planet. But they had managed to find a small apple tree, which was now sitting on Porsalynne's lap. While on Earth, they were even able to stop by Hikari's place and fill her in on the situation. It even gave them an opportunity to finally introduce Charlene and Yuki to eachother. It was a shame Reikiko and Cipher couldn't be there to see it. But now, they were back on Konats, with the apple tree to act as the centerpiece in the temple. She wondered quietly just how well progress was going on that.
"And done!" Charlene cheered as she landed the ship, letting the engines die down as she unbuckled herself. It was surprising just how quickly Charlene had picked up on the workings of the ship, and to be honest made Porsalynne quite proud of her adopted daughter. All that time hanging around the BBA's technology was really paying off. Maybe she would become a scientist when she got older? Just had to direct her attentions away from weaponry and more towards more benign purposes. Cipher would most likely appreciate that as well. The female android stood up, holding the apple tree sapling as Charlene lowered the landing gear. She moved over to a small storage compartment and pulled out her disguise, the same white robes and mask that Cipher wore as 'the prophet'. Charlene moved to do the same. "Think dad's been okay while we've been gone?" Charlene asked as she slipped the mask on. Porsalynne nodded and smiled. "I'm sure he's been fine. You know how capable your father is." Charlene nodded. "Yeah. For all we know, by the time we get there they're all on their knees and dad's wearing one of those pope hats. Long live Pope Cipher!" Porsalynne laughed, "Oh stop it. You know he doesn't let that sort of thing go to his head. Besides, can you imagine how silly he would look wearing one?"
Mother and daughter both laughed as they stepped down from the ship. It would be a bit of a walk back to the city, as Cipher insisted that they keep the ship out of sight, but it really didn't bother them that much. As an android, Porsalynne had much more stamina compared to regular people, and Charlene was used to walking through deserts. The girl had lived by herself for years before the two androids adopted her, and she had even wandered the wastelands of Vegeta when she went there briefly.
However, this time would be different. Out on the wastelands of Vegeta, Charlene didn't encounter anything that would hurt her (ok, she did run into a saibaman, but it didn't attack her or anything). This time however, as they walked through the desert sands, a small sound drew Porsalynne's attention, causing her to look back. she saw nothing. At least, she thought it was nothing. It had seemed like there was something there for a moment, but then it was gone. While neither Porsalynne and Charlene didn't have the ability to sense ki like Cipher or many others did, the motherly android couldn't shake the feeling that something was nearby...and watching them. A look of concern on her face, hidden behind her mask, she pulled her daughter closer to her protectively. charlene didn't need to ask, she was getting the same feeling as well. "Stay close to me," she said, trying to keep the urgency out of her voice, "Let's get to the city as quick as possible. We need to get this tree planted as quick as possible." Thank goodness the mask his their faces, or one would notice how nervous the female android was.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them seemed to burst in a cloud of sand as something, or rather, multiple somethings, burst out from underneath them. Porsalynne let out a cry as she was thrown off of her feet, before feeling a set of hands reaching out to grab her. The android cried out, trying to struggle away from them as another form reached out to grab her. "Who are you!?" she yelled out, flailing her arms around, "Let go of me! Get away from me!" She heard a cry and her eyes widened to see Charlene being grabbed by a large form. "CHARLENE!"
Suddenly, there was a sharp blow to the back of her head, and all Porsalynne saw was black. The last thing she heard before drifting into unconsciousness was the sound of Charlene crying out to her in panic.
