It hadn't taken them long to get 'the Prophet' set up in the Ocariin library. While there had been suggestions of Cipher getting a room at a nearby hotel or inn, Cipher had managed to find one of the more less used rooms of the library to call his own, insisting that it would do. The more access he had to Konats' arcane knowledge, the better. Once they had gotten his 'chambers' set up (Cipher insisted on privacy and eating any meals he had alone, in order to keep up the disguise), he managed to bring both Porsalynne and Charlene down onto the planet. They were wearing similar disguises as he was, and Cipher had been able to convince the people that they, like himself, were servants of the 'White Queen'. Thankfully, Porsalynne's kind and gentle demeanor had won over the people easily enough. Even Charlene was being well behaved in public, much to the android's relief.
And so, once they were all settled in, Cipher got to work, working his way through the archives of the Ocariin library. When Reikiko had told him that Konats was a bastion of magical knowledge, she wasn't kidding. It would take about a month of non-stop reading for Cipher to make his way through all of it. And, well, the android did have to eat and sleep after all. Besides, he wanted to completely absorb this information, filter through all of it in order to find what Reikiko needed. The bio-android had planned to become kami of this world, to effectively create their own set of dragon balls. It made sense really. There was already knowledge of Earth and Namek's dragonballs, and if they had tried to collect them, it was very likely someone would notice. But if they could create their own, out of sight of the galaxy at large, then it would make their usage so much easier for them.
To use them to ascend Reikiko to her ultimate form.
Of course, that part would have to wait for when Reikiko would return to the mortal plain, and Cipher knew she would. The woman was passionate about protecting the galaxy, to restoring Avalon, he seriously doubted she was going to give up and throw it all away. Though, having some way to speak with her, to clarify this would help immensely. Cipher wondered if Konats had any knowledge on how to speak with the dead.
As he looked over the various tomes before him, he began to wonder, just what did it take to use magic? Was it a talent that someone was born with? He knew that Vi-Poi could use some magic, but that was mainly due to the magical artifacts that had been incorporated into his system. Cipher brought a hand to his chest. Cipher had a magical artifact inside himself as well. The Colossus Core. It had been incorporated into his systems as part of his very first upgrade, boosting his power considerably. But ever since then, all his upgrades had been mechanical. Would the colossus core allow him to harness magic? He never gave it any thought until now.
He turned the page to what he reckoned what could be a rather simple spell. One to conjure up lights. Setting the book down in front of him, he brought up two of his hands, the other two holding the book steady. He had to resist the urge to resort to using his ki. There was a distinct difference between ki usage and magic after all. Taking a deep breath, he tried to clear his mind, trying to focus on the core within his chest, trying to determine whether he could tap into some of its energy for something other than strength. Could he do so?
"E-Excuse me."
Cipher managed to stop himself from doing the natural reaction, which was to immediately spin around to see who was behind him. He lowered his hands and as calmly as he could, turned to see who had addressed him. Standing in the doorway to the room was a Konatian woman, and behind her, watching timidly was a child, no doubt her son.
"Yes?" Cipher spoke up calmly, "Is there anything I can assist you with?" Many people had been keeping away from him since he got here, with most of the socializing done by Porsalynne. The woman hesitated for a moment before speaking "I was just wondering...well...could you possibly tells us more about the White Queen?" It was then that Cipher recognized her disposition as not one of fear, but of nervousness. After all, he had built himself up as some sort of holy prophet, so she probably saw himself as someone very important. Cipher turned in his seat to face them, remaining calm and collected. "But of course. Come closer. There's no need to be afraid."
The woman hesitated before she and her child stepped forward. At Cipher's gentle beckoning, they came to a comfortable distance. "Tell me, what would you like to know?" the woman was quiet for a moment, trying to decide what to ask before speaking. "Is it true...that she wants to bring peace to the galaxy? Does she really have the power to do so?" Beneath his mask, Cipher smiled and gave the woman a tender nod. "Indeed she can, for her power is as strong as her will. I have seen her perform many accomplishments, many demonstrations of her power. She can even wipe out planets with her strength."
The boy shivered behind his mother. "That sounds scary." Cipher looked down at the child, and would have given him a reassuring smile if his face wasn't covered. "Power can be quite frightening yes, and especially in the hands of those who would use it for their own selfish gains. But power in and of itself is not evil. It's only as bad as those who wield it. And while I have seen many demonstrations of the queen's formidable power, I have also seen displays of her kindness, her desire for peace. That is why I have faith in her. And why I wish to give that same faith to you all."
This seemed to help the boy relax, as a small smile appeared on his face. This in turn allowed his mother to relax as well. "She really does sound like a good person," she said, giving him a smile, "And if she has people as kind as you and your fellow servants are, then she must be."
"Indeed. Quite an interesting story you're telling."
The woman and child spun around and Cipher looked past them to see a short figure standing in the doorway. His body was dressed in a series of dark robes, which pretty much hide his entire frame, save for a portion of his face, which revealed yellow eyes and orange skin. He was definitely not a Konatian. The woman seemed a bit shocked as she stepped off to the side, the short figure stepping forward. "If you don't mind, I would like to speak with our prophet here." The woman nodded and with her cold in tow bid a hasty retreat from the room.
With them gone, the short figure turned his gaze onto Cipher. "So, you're this 'Great Prophet' that people have been talking about. I am Fel, of the Kashvar."
