Habana felt bad as she heard Maeve’s reaction to her explaining a bit of the situation, it was a bit to be expected, just as Maeve had said she and Bing had gone out of there way to ensure that neither Zucceta nor Habana herself had to die even though it would have been well within the power of the Earth’s warriors to do so, but unfortunately Habana had not gotten the chance to do the same the group had made the decision to leave the fight purely between Zucceta and Bing, if she had taken off to get close enough to effect the battle the other warriors might have taken it as her intending to team up with Zucceta as well she’d felt personally invested in making sure that the Majin girl stayed put, Zerori had made her choice to side with them but with her having swapped allegiances once already and the Majin’s attempts to influence her before it would be just a bit TOO risky to leave Zerori to handle the others.
Despite everything though Maeve seemed unwilling to simply let all of the blame fall onto them and simply let herself be angry with them, but instead decided to see the situation as a whole rather than just from her grieving perspective, however she also wanted to know the whole story, Habana had no qualms with the notion of explaining things to Maeve however Zerori was the first to speak up, and Haban found rather quickly that it seemed that Zerori had been misleading Maeve a bit, perhaps not intending to do so permanantly and at least by her words she had done it because she felt it was not the best time.
Habana frowned as Zerori stressed the words, even without seeing the other hybrid she could tell a lot of her annoyance was directed her way, while now was perhaps not the MOST ideal time it was also unfair to Maeve to lie about the situation or actively conceal it, as well Bing had tasked her with informing Maeve of his demise and Habana felt it only fair to provide a context on why he had chosen her specifically.
Zerori’s explanation of the events that transpired on Kanassa were a bit… disjointed, she was clearly struggling unsure what to say and how to say it. “I arrived a little late to the battle, Zucceta and Luffa had already planted the tree and Bing, Zerori, a Majin named.. Zexama I believe? And two arcosians were already present by the time I’d arrived, from my understanding the bulk of the Kanassan population had already evacuated due to their precognitive abilities, I sent one of my Captains to aid in evacuating the remaining Kanassans”
“When I arrived I made it clear that everyone should leave and began charging my strongest attack as a bit of a show of force, a measure to incentivise their departure. I greeted Bing as despite the fact I knew he was almost certainly against the use of the tree I could not exactly hold his presence against him, I think my friendliness took him a bit off guard.” Habana sighed but smiled a bit at the memory, it had been rather amusing to fluster the guardian with a friendly greeting despite following it with a demand for all of them to depart.
“I’d already figured it was unlikely he would leave, Earth was proof enough that he was not a man likely to stand down in such a situation… I actually wanted to be the one to fight him if I’m entirely honest, the brief battle on Earth left an impact on me, he was probably one of the strongest people I’ve ever fought AND he’d divided his power in half to help you. I wanted another chance to prove myself against him but unfortunately I did not quite get that chance, Zucceta needed me to deal with the Majin girl and she took the fight to Bing.”
“Zerori and I were able to deal with the Majin girl fairly easily, it was due in part by the efforts of another late arrival, a Human named Nova that things did not descend into another brawl once she reformed, he suggested that we simply let Zucc and Bing battle it out and let them decide how things would go, both were strong enough that once they won the outcome of Kanassa would more or less be decided anyway so it made sense, unfortunately it didn’t take long after Nova’s suggestion for Zucc and Bing’s battle to escalate to the point where any of us trying to get involved anyway would likely have been trivial, and then all too suddenly both of there signatures plummeted, but only Zucc’s actually revitalized. From what I heard from Zucc she took one of Bing’s attacks head on and used a senzu bean to survive and the surprise from doing so to make her own attack.” Habana let out another sigh as she finished the tale, in an effort to be kind to Zerori for her aid on Kanassa she intentionally left out the process by which she had been coerced into joining them, she had at least vaguely alluded to it herself and truthfully it was not an exceptionally crucial part of the story.
