Hatred.
It was a somewhat new feeling for the Former Guardian. He wasn't entirely foreign to idea of hating someone, but having so much unbridled rage directed at a single being was something entirely new.
Here he sat, in a ship owned by an enemy, with a body not entirely his own. He had to wonder how he even got himself into this predicament. He wondered how his friends were doing; how his wife was doing. Was the Dragon Woman laughing right about now? Was she telling the tale of how the idiotic Human walked up to her and simply professed his love? He raised his remaining organic hand, staring longingly at the scar that once signified his unity with a beautiful and kind woman.
"A bond that'll last forever... I guess forever was pretty short."
What of Etoru, his youngest pupil? For all he knew, the young boy was probably off with some other teacher now, informing this superior warrior of the loathsome time when he was taught by a complete fool.
These thoughts continued to plague Bing as he sat in the Gravity Chamber of the impressive Imperator. Though Ochus informed him he was free to move about the vessel as he pleased, he just didn't feel comfortable doing so. This Gravity Chamber was eerily similar to one he used to own, making it the only place in this ship that felt even the slightest bit like home.
As he sat in the cold, circular room, he tried his best to think of happy thoughts. At the very least, he was aware that Vi-Poi wasn't disgusted with him. He vaguely recalled getting a telepathic reply from the Blue Banner Bot, who had let him know he'd respect his wish. He wondered briefly if he should try using his Telepathic abilities right now. Perhaps he could speak with Kaula, or Reikiko. He sat up, a slight smirk on his face as he closed his eyes.
He tried to speak with them, but he stopped himself.
There was no way they'd give him the time of day if they knew what he'd become. He wasn't a Guardian, and he certainly wouldn't be considered a hero if he ever returned home. He didn't even know what he was anymore.
As he stood there in absolute silence, thoughts of his battle with Zucceta crept up on him. He only saw quick flashes, but it was enough to cause that creeping feeling of anger to fill him up again. He felt furious, both with himself and with the Queen. Lightning began to dance around his form as his brow furrowed.
He had to get this anger out somehow, otherwise he'd break himself down further than he already was. It took him a moment to focus, only now realizing the enhanced gravity function of this chamber had been active the entire time. He assumed that it turned itself on when he entered the room, though there was the chance that he had simply forgotten the fact that he himself activated it.
He turned his attention to the large control panel. It had a wide array of buttons, each one doing something entirely new. He contemplated using some grand simulation to quell his fury, but decided against it. The Cyborg peered at all the possible options he had in store, deciding on the simplest option; simple drones, which would float about the room lazily and fire pot shots at him. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it'd cool off some steam.
As he clicked in the button, a myriad of orb shaped machines popped out of the ground. The room was suddenly bathed in a red tinge as the door to the chamber was locked. The drones began to circle Bing, each of their single red eyes beginning to fill with a bright white light; tinted pink due to the harsh color of the lighting.
They began firing upon him rapidly, forcing the Former Guardian to stay on the move. He leaped through the sky, knocking two orbs of artificial Ki back at their owners. He continued to weave through the room, barely breaking a sweat even with the intensified gravity.
With a flick of the wrist, his metallic arm suddenly became coated in razor sharp Ki. He hopped up, slicing a path through a grouped up batch of drones. They fell to pieces, clanking hard on the cold tile below. The Cyborg soared through the air, continuing to carve out a path of destruction with his blade.
Until he heard a familiar voice.
"Is that how you're going to act now that you're working with Zucceta? You sicken me."
He stopped dead in his tracks, allowing multiple energy blasts to lay into him. Bing hit the ground with a painful thud, but quickly recovered as he searched the room frantically for the owner of the phantom voice. "R-rei? Is that you?"
"Of course it's me, you baka."
From thin air, the visage of the Crane Sensei appeared. The miniature Homunculous crossed her arms as she tapped her foot rapidly. "I can't believe you of all people would devolve into such senseless destruction. You enjoy this new body, don't you?"
Bing stood up, his eyes wide as he tried to explain himself to the apparition. "No, Reikiko, it's not like that! I'm not--"
"Hold your tongue, traitor!"
The Crane Sensei flicked her tail, pointing it directly at the Cyborg's chest. "I thought you were a worthy successor to my Otuo-san, but I can now see I was wrong. You aren't fit for the title of Kami-sama; you aren't even fit for the title of Human Being!"
His body felt cold as he heard Reikiko's words. Is this what she really thought of him? Was he really just some monster now?
"Reikiko... Please... I'm not... I just..."
Before he could form the words, she was already gone.
And it wasn't long before she was replaced by another hateful apparition.
"Wow, what a dummy you are!"
It seemed now it was Etoru's turn. The little Saiyan walked towards Bing, sticking his tongue out at the Fallen Serpent. A small chuckle escaped his lips before he spoke again. "I thought you were pretty cool before, but this is what you turned into? Laaaaaaaaaame! I bet you can't even beat someone like Mr. Mayze now!"
Bing walked forwards, kneeling down so he could speak with Etoru at eye level. He tried to put his hand on the boys shoulder, but Etoru was quick to slap it away in disgust. "Etoru... I thought we were friends! Don't you remember all the fun times we had? Why are you so upset with me?"
The boy's expression soured as he explained. "Because, Bing! You suck! You're just a big dummy who can't beat anyone! You're not super strong, you never were super strong! And you were never cool either! I just said all that to make you feel better about being so lame!"
Once again, he tried to place his hand on Etoru, but it was pushed aside. The boy grew angry this time, a sneer appearing on his young face as he suddenly unleashed the golden power of the Super Saiyan. The Saiyan shoved Bing away, knocking him into the control panel.
"Stay away from me, loser!"
Etoru made an L shape with his fingers as he began walking away from the Cyborg. Bing tried to catch up, but it was all in vain. The boy had vanished.
It took him a moment, but soon he realized that he had activated one of the simulations. He found himself on a grassy field at night, heavy rain pouring down on him as he stood silent. He wasn't sure who he'd find this time, but he was sure that they too would be disappointed.
Bing walked for a short while, until he came across a cliffside. Furious waves crashed against the sandy beach far below as the storm seemed to worsen.
A woman spoke from behind him. Her voice was cold. "What are you doing here?"
The Guardian's body froze up. It couldn't be... He couldn't possibly face her now... But here she was. He turned shakily, to find it was indeed his love.
Maeve Rakshasa
"Maeve..."
The Demon slammed her sword into the mud as she stared directly at Bing, her piercing gaze shattering any resolve he had left. He held back tears as best he could, but he didn't know how long it would last.
"I... I don't know what to say... I'm sorry."
She frowned.
"Sorry isn't good enough, Bing. Nothing is good enough."
Bing took a step forwards. "I didn't mean to hurt you like this... It's not what I wanted... I thought I could stop her!"
"WELL YOU THOUGHT WRONG! YOU FAILED, AND INSTEAD OF JUST DYING NOW YOU'RE ON HER SIDE!"
She ripped her blade from the ground, pointing it directly at her former love. Despite how much rage she must have felt, she hesitated.
"I didn't choose this! She took my body, used it to create this... This thing! I wasn't the one who made this decision!"
The Swordwoman looked down, sheathing her blade as she sighed.
"Keep telling yourself that. Maybe one day people will actually believe you."
She turned, walking away slowly, and leaving Bing all by himself. The Cyborg raised his Human hand as he tried to call out to her.
"Maeve! Please don't go!"
It was too late. She was gone.
He fell to his knees, staring directly upwards as he sat on the cold, wet grass. Slowly, he began to sob. He couldn't hold it back any longer. He had reached his limit. The Former Guardian hung his head low, weeping a bit harder as the rain turned into a torrential downpour.
Though his heart had stopped days before, it was only now that Bing Gan truly died.
The simulation ended, bringing the broken man back to reality...
