The world glowed in soft hues of red and gold, struck by the stage lights as fans poured into and out of the theater while they set the stage for the headliner. The Dragon and the Lambs would play on Namek for the first time since Belle brought the girls into the fold permanently.
A small venue, for a change, but for Namek those were the best kinds. Hannibelle Evensong peeked out from between the curtains, spying the mass of bodies waiting for her to being. After the opening acts, they were warmed up and ready to party, or so she hoped. There were a lot of people, all different races and species, come to see her show. In front was some of the ‘usual’ crowd that followed her shows from town to town, planet to planet. Some thought it a little creepy, Belle considered it more a show of their loyalty and devotion.
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. After all this time, she still felt butterflies in her stomach before a show - programming? Perhaps. Or maybe she legitimately felt eager, anticipating the show to go poorly or fantastically depending on the day. All she knew was that the show would go on, and as the last one during her stop on Namek, she was both happy and sad in the parting. Sad, because despite it all, she did love Namek although some of the last week’s events dampened it somewhat. Happy, because now she could move on to Earth and be done cleaning up Arynx’s mess. At least if he was stuck on Earth it meant he didn’t have to cancel shows there. True, there would be other planets in the future of her tour she might need to pick up his slack on but Earth was a good middle part of her travels and she’d be spending a bit of time there.
Walking with purpose, Belle took the stage and the fans erupted. The ear plugs she wore for multiple reasons blocked out the most of it, but not all, and sometimes at the end she took them out and soaked it all in. Every look, every wave and yell, it all came from people who came to see her. To most, enjoying the attention might make her seem vain or selfish or any of the other names haters might call her. But that wasn’t it at all. Sometimes those people were the only thing that kept her going, kept her motivated to continue on in this harsh world. There were times in public she felt scared and alone, times where she were surrounded by tons and tons of people who came just to adore her and never felt more alone. This wasn’t one of those times.
Without them she was nothing and she knew it. “So, which of you are ready to have a good time?” she asked.
And the crowd went wild.
