“Ki. You all know what it is: the energy within every living being,” Beryl said to a large gathering of listening Namekians. He was conducting a martial arts lesson to the general public. If anyone wanted to attend, then they could show up with no questions asked. “Ki is composed of three parts: Genki, Energy; Yuki, Courage; and Shoki, Mind. These three parts combine and manifest into ki – the energy that you all have the ability to manipulate freely. You are able to even use it as a source of raw, external energy. Beams, blasts, discs, barriers, healing and so much more – all of these things are possible because of ki.” There was a pause. “Anyone can learn to use ki. However—“There was a pause. “There are some who have it much harder than others when it comes to using ki. I am one of those individuals. Normally, that means this person is doomed whenever they are faced against an opponent who is skilled at utilizing ki. So, how does someone like me stand a chance against all of you here?”There was another pause. Many pairs of Namekian eyes were glued onto the Galactic Patrol leader. Beryl finally spoke. “It’s simple. I focus on improving both my physical and mental strength. There is only so much ki that the body can hold and how much the body can hold depends on the strength of the body and the strength of the mind. What happens is that many become too comfortable with using ki within combat; they very rarely rely on their own physical and mental strength. I’m the opposite. Since I cannot use ki in battle, I have devoted all of my time and energy into refining my mind and body to where basic martial arts are enough to keep myself safe.”
The dark-skinned human nodded once, stylish shades shielding his dark-brown eyes. His garb was business casual: a green, collared shirt, black tie, black pants, black dress shoes and a large, yellow beanie. A fancy, golden badge was pinned to his shirt, fashioned in the Galactic Patrol's symbol. A gem-studded crown decorated the badge as well - a symbol of Beryl's leader status. “And that’s what I hope to help you all with. I think that if you all can improve in your physical combat, you will become more developed and prepared fighters. Just imagine the effect once you combine it with your natural ki abilities.” Beryl scanned the crowd of Namekians. “Now, would anyone like to spar with me? It’ll be for a demonstration.”Silence. The Namekians looked at one another, all of them extremely apprehensive to try their luck against Beryl. The space police leader frowned slightly, a bit disappointed. “No one?”PL -- 166,192. [Heavy Weights equipped. Thread PL - 15,799. Weighted PL - 3950]
It was a beautiful day. Kaito yawned and lazily rolled over his bed, before opening his room's window to have the sun rays splash against his face and infiltrate his noiseless room. He turned back and yawned again. Actually he didn't get too much sleep for whatever reason he couldn't remember. It was a rather simple bedroom that Kaito had been staying in for some days now. It had a comfortable bed with a red blanket on it, an ancient radio resting in the wooden cupboard, and a small couch who was completely untouched by the sun's light. The air in the room was kinda heavy too however the wind was helping to get rid of that.
Kaito walked down the stairs and said good morning to the bartender, who was quietly polishing a glass out of many. He was an old Namekian who had probably spent most of his life in this place, or so Kaito thought. He didn't have a proper conversation with him though. He rarely even talked, and if it wasn't for the gossipy female waiter, this inn would hardly get any customers. Talking about this chatty girl, named Anna, she was a medium sized female Namekian who would spend most of her time talking. Yes, talking to anyone and everyone. However this didn't mean she slacked off on her work though, females are known for multi-tasking.
Kaito wasn't the person to be so talkative in the mornings, so he was really hoping he wouldn't get noticed by her. The blondie dropped on his knees and crawled behind the chairs and tables, as slowly as possible. Unfortunately for the poor human, he bumped his head against a chair because he was paying too much attention to Anna's movements. Of course, this was a fatal give away. In the fragment of the second, she showed up right in front of Kaito who had already layed down the floor, making it known he was defeated. As if she had prepared them for this moment, Anna unleashed a barrage of words to Kaito. All kinds of topics which Kaito couldn't even follow properly. He was simply nodding while having a fake smile in his lips. But, as if Kaito had been blessed by good luck, some customers entered in and thus Anna had to take care of them. Now Kaito was finally free of this madness!
"For goodness' sake!"
Annoyed a little bit, Kaito couldn't help but smile. It hadn't even been a week, but the Namekians in this village were already familiar with the human's presence. They were nice people actually. Anna, aside her big mouthed personality, was a kind person. The old man who was always fishing would always greet Kaito with that same smiling face, and so on many others. With the Namekian's warmth towards any foreigner, Kaito didn't feel out of place. He was actually enjoying his time in here, though it was finally time to leave and maybe do other things. As Kaito did his groceries, he noticed Akio. That Namekian kid was again sitting alone. Kaito's eyes grasped a group of kids approaching him, and judging by their grins in their faces, their intention was only to bully the poor kid.
The human rushed to them and scared the kids away, before kneeling a little bit to match Akio's height. Unfortunately for this kid, he was the main target of the bullies around here. He was the only Namekian who wasn't able to knead his Ki up, taking into consideration that little amount he had. Kaito patted the kid in his head, fondling his green antennas.
"Listen well, Akio, and take my advice. Don't stress over those kids too much. They may know how to use a little bit of Ki, but they're all talk. A smart kid like you still has time to evolve into a fine warrior, who will become an inspiration among the villagers. Just give yourself time, and one day you might even surpass me!"
The words of Kaito melted the little Akio's eyes, who was on the verge of crying. Although it had been a little time since they met, Akio looked up to Kaito. One day, he too wanted to be like him, a strong individual who can defeat enemies and keep the village in safe hands. Kaito smiled lightly as he got up, looking at the kid. He was really serious that this kid was going to become strong one day, and he would already picture those bullies asking to train under Akio. As the human was about to invite Akio to a stroll alongside the river, Kaito sensed a ridiculously overpowered energy, coming not too far from here. Even Akio, who hadn't been familar with Ki yet, felt that. The blondie instantly froze, and dropped his groceries in the ground. Just what was this Ki? It was beyond his imagination. How can someone be so strong? Only God would know that.
Contemplating, a sweat traveled down Kaito's face. The little Akio noticed Kaito's worries, but he wasn't too sure what was happening. All he could grasp from this situation was that an overpowered presence appeared around here, as he was seeing the villagers rushing to their homes. In a short amount of time, no one was in the streets. All the places were empty, even the old man who'd always fish by this time. Kaito tried to recollect himself, and kneeled down again. He gave Akio a serious glance.
"Listen, Akio. I need you to quickly go to your home. Outside is too dangerous."
Akio's tears had finally reached their peak and started to fall down. Unsure that he may not be able to see Kaito anymore, Kaito rushed to his home while turning his head back several times until he could not see Kaito anymore. With a heroic smile in his face, Kaito preparred himself and flared his aura as he parted ways his Akio. This new force was impossible to deal with, of course, however Kaito couldn't let this chance slip. This may be the first and last chance he could witness such power.
The human floated in the air and soared in the green sky, arriving to the source of this power in a relatively short time. From what he could see, there was a single man in front of many Namekians. It looked like he was... lecturing them? However a few moments later, some Namekians took a battle stance, against this man who was simply standing there. The Namekians were shaking, with an insecure will going through their mind and obscuring their movements. Oh but of course, even Kaito started to shake, coming up this close. When it looked like no Namekian was willing to go against him, Kaito stepped in and landed right in front of the dark skinned man. Having the Namekians right behind his shoulders, Kaito confronted this immenstly strong presence.
His clothes were somewhat similar to a human's sense of fashion. A green collared shirt with a black tie, black pants and shoes, and a yellow beanie. That's right, after scanning him several times, Kaito fully believed that this guy was his own kind. But for a human to be this strong? That was insane. Kaito's resolve didn't fret any longer though. He was actually relieved to see a human since some time. Something shined around the man's chest area. It was an emblem pinned to his shirt, with a weird symbol in it, decorated in gold. However Kaito didn't give it too much thought.
"Greetings, I recently have been hanging around this area. What were you doing with these friendly folks here?" Kaito pointed back with his thumb to the group of Namekians. Eager to hear from the human, Kaito was actually starting to get a little bit nervious whether he chose the right words.

“… Well, I guess a sparring partner isn’t necessary for this particular demonstration. I’ll—“ Beryl stopped mid-sentence, head tilting upward. Someone was descending down towards him from the skies, the silhouette definitely humanoid. The newcomer landed on the ground with a thud directly in front of Beryl, and Beryl’s head remained tilted up to look the taller stranger in the eyes. He was a human with bright-blonde hair, a toned physique and potent ki nestled within his body. Beryl sensed Kaito’s power, and it was impressive in its own right. He was definitely one of the more powerful people currently on Namek, and he was human as well! Inside, Beryl rejoiced; it wasn’t often that he met humans on distant planets, especially ones who weren’t absolute weaklings. “Hello! I’m holding a martial arts lesson right now,” Beryl explained, motioning towards the huddled group of Namekians. The green-skinned aliens nodded softly in affirmation, their tension fading once they realized that none of them would have to be that “unlucky” someone to spar against Beryl. “I was asking for someone to volunteer as my sparring partner for a demonstration, but I don’t think no one’s willing to volunteer.” He frowned slightly, eyes darting towards the group of Namekians. The stylish shades hid Beryl’s eyes, making it difficult to determine who or what he was looking at directly. “However, I didn’t expect for any other humans to be here! This is my first time to planet Namek. I’m currently here to find survivors from Moori Capitol and to hopefully make this village a safe place that any survivors or refugees can come to. So far, we’ve been making good progress, but there’s still quite a bit to do. I was hoping that by offering the locals here martial arts lessons, they’ll be better prepared to defend themselves, others and the planet from future threats.”There was a pause, and Beryl blinked. A hand reached up to scratch his cheek. “I’m sorry. I kind of went on a rant there,” the space police leader admitted sheepishly, chuckling humorlessly. “My name’s Beryl Roarke.” He offered a dark-skinned hand for a firm, genuine handshake. “If you are interested in being part of this martial arts lesson, then feel free to join us!” Beryl offered. He noted Kaito’s power as well as his anxiety and nervousness but decided against making a comment about either of those things for now. Kaito

Kaito had questioned the dark skinned human with a rather refined fashion, after insecurely landing few meters in front of him. The blondie asked Beryl on what he was attempting to do with a bunch of innocent and naive Namekians. But he had positive thoughts in his mind, and with that kind of mindset he was trying to help this planet. He said that he was holding a martial arts session, explaining the green aliens a little bit about what Ki was, and challenging them to a friendly spar. The Namekians however all trembled in fear against Beryl, even though he was trying to educate them for their own good. Kaito couldn't quite make out Beryl's face expressions due to his sunglasses hindering his eyes, but judging from his eyebrows' movements, Kaito could tell that he frowned and was disappointed at the Namekians. Beryl continued, after lightening up a little bit, saying that finding a human in a distant planet like Namek, caught him off guard. Kaito felt the same, while swallowing a thick glob of saliva down his stomach. He was still not used to confront people with such terryfing power, but relieved at the fact that Beryl was also human, Kaito would exhale at peace. His face couldn't hide his astonishment either. His eyes were wide open, and so was his mouth, showing a fragment of his white shiny teeth. Though as time went by, he started feeling more comfortable around the dark skinned human. Being a spiritual person, Kaito would quickly understand Beryl's nature, as he opened his mouth to share more of his worries.
The space police mentioned the disaster which was happening in Moori Capitol right now. Kaito didn't hear about it until a few days ago, from few drunk Namekian guys at a bar. It was a hot topic in Namek as of recent, and you could hear about it in any corner of the planet. Apparently, Namekians were struggling to defend their own planet against a wicked force of demons trying to invade it. Brave Namekian warriors and people of all races were trying to put a halt at the demons' rampage. The power waves could sometimes be felt from a long distance, an easy give away that immense powers were being exchanged there, even now as we speak.
"That's unfortunate" Kaito thought while sighing and shaking his head.
Because of that, Beryl was trying his best to prepare these Namekians physically and mentally, just in case. If you could look over at the flock, their faces were free of worry and mumblings were heard among them. Well, it looked like they too were relieved after hearing the dark skinned human out. They all stood behind Kaito, now in a more tidy order, concentrated at what Beryl would say next, with their pointy ears.
Beryl introduced himself to Kaito, offering his hand for a handshake. His body refusing to answer due to the puzzlement for several times, Kaito hastily raised his hand. "M-My name is Kaito Zen. Nice to meet you, Beryl Roarke-san". He stuttered a little bit, as usual when facing these kind of situations. And so, the handshake happened, with few vertical tilts from both sides. Kaito smiled as they did so.
The space police offered Kaito to join this martial arts lesson. Kaito was sure interesed! He couldn't let such a chance like this slip by. Even though his overall powers was only a tiny fragment of Beryl's power, Kaito didn't fret a little bit. He was no longer feeling anxious, he had cleared his mind of those feelings.
"Hey guys," He said to the bunch of Namekians. "If you'd like, you can go first since I was uninvited." However no response. Although the Namekians were more comfortable, they still didn't think they could go against Beryl. All of them tilted their head from right to left, as a means of refusing Kaito's suggestion. The blondie didn't fault them though, he would do the same if he was on their level. Turning his head back to Beryl, Kaito said in a polite manner. "I look forward to this spar, Beryl-san. I am ready whenever you are."
Kaito took his battle stance by bending his knees a little bit, his right (dominant) arm forward, with three bent fingers up, and his left arm stretched inwards, his palm clenched into a fist. Inhaling and exhaling several times, Kaito was ready to be taught a thing or two by Beryl.

Beryl hoped that he wasn’t scaring Kaito too much. While the blonde was much more physically imposing than Beryl was, there was something about Beryl’s power that was unnerving. Sure – the guy was laidback, relaxed and polite, but there was still that nagging feeling that he had the ability to literally punch people into orbit with pure physical power alone that rested in the back of people’s minds. It was reassuring that Kaito didn’t deny the handshake though, and even though the nervous, gi-toting human stuttered out an introduction, Beryl took it without a hitch. “It’s very nice to meet you too, Kaito. Namek’s a refreshing change of pace from Earth in a way. Everyone’s so polite here.” Then, Beryl made a face. “Well, after I got to know the Namekians here, they were a lot nicer to me. When I first came here, everyone was panicking and freaking out. They thought I had come to destroy the planet or something like that.” Frighteningly enough, with Beryl’s power, he could destroy Namek if he really wanted to. It was a good thing there was no intentions of doing such anywhere in him. Surprisingly though, Kaito took up Beryl’s offer for a spar. However, remembering his manners, the blondie went ahead and asked the group of Namekians if anyone wanted to spar before him; after all, he did just show up uninvited. Dead silence followed afterwards; they sure as hell didn’t want to be a punching bag. Even though Kaito’s strength was a fraction of Beryl’s, he was still willing to spar. Beryl nodded once; he hadn’t known Kaito for a few minutes and already his resolve impressed him. A few moments passed as Kaito settled into his fighting stance. Beryl didn’t move yet; instead, he made note of the fellow human’s form. It was an interesting fighting stance, though it was a somewhat common one. Beryl had seen forms like it before; they were tailored to allow for combat flexibility. The user could switch from offense to defense on a dime while still making their movements unpredictable. It was clear that Kaito knew what he was doing. Beryl soon assumed a combat stance of his own; however, his was a lot more plain. All he did was bring his fists up, right fist in front and his left in the back. His legs and feet mirrored his hands, knees slightly bent. Kaito would also feel Beryl’s power decreasing rapidly, until it got to the point where it was almost equal with his own. With that in mind, Kaito would discover that it was clear that Beryl was holding back … a lot. There was a purpose for it though. “I want you to use everything you have available to you, Kaito. That includes ki techniques if you have them.” Suddenly, Beryl lunged forward. Even with his suppressed power, he was stupidly fast. He started throwing very rapid jabs at Kaito, alternating with his fists. Beryl was testing Kaito – a way of getting a feel about how Kaito fought. PL -- Suppressed to 4,000. Kaito

Kaito faced Beryl with a strong resolve, and not trying to stress over how would he even land a hit against such a power level. Beryl looked formidable enough for Kaito to think that he was probably one of the big dogs in the universe. The blondie actually felt very lucky that Beryl was even finding time to have a spar match with him. He was obviously doing this for Kaito's sake.
After witnessing Kaito's battle stance, Beryl also took his. He clenched his palms into a fist and brought them up, one forward and one in the back. So he did with his legs too. This stance looked awfully basic and simple to Kaito. It reminded him of the stances boxers do in the ring. And matter of fact, Kaito loved boxing. Oddly enough, Beryl's power level started decreasing drastically. In just moments, his power level would approximately equate to Kaito's weighted one. His eyes wide open, Kaito realized that Beryl was actually holding back this much. One would normally take this as an insult, usually those mindless and hot blooded Saiyans who would probably rage and then get killed in process, but Kaito decided to look the bright side of it. This meant that the space police was actually looking forward to this battle against Kaito, therefore he decided to even the power levels out.
Kaito grinned. This kind of chance wouldn't knock twice in the door. In his mind, Kaito promised to himself that he would use every single cell in his body to put a good performance against Beryl. The latter recommended Kaito to use everything he knew, that including his techniques. Kaito still maintained his battle stance, directly eyeing Beryl with his brown hues. He had locked his eyes on Beryl fully, deciding to ignore everything which surrounded him. For this reason, he couldn't hear the little Namekians cheering in the background. Both parties had the same amount of cheerings in their side, and the right atmosphere for the battle was pretty much set.
Well then, enough time wasting. Beryl suddenly decided to lunge forward. Surprisingly enough, as Beryl was moving forward, the sunlight reflected the goldy emblem which was glued in Beryl's shirt. The blinding light went directly to Kaito's eyes, which distracted him a little bit. But that little bit was fatal, Beryl's first fist throwing landed on Kaito's face, forcefully sending his head to the right. Kaito's senses were fully alerted as this happened. Intuitively, Kaito knew another punch was coming. With much struggle, Kaito's head tilted to the opposite side, left. That way, Kaito had luckily evaded Beryl's punch. Slightly tilting his head from right to left to wipe the wound from the earlier punch away, Kaito made a come back by starting to block Beryl's punches with his palms, alternating them. As Beryl threw his final punch, Kaito was swift enough to take hold of it, completely restricting Beryl's movement. Now he was clear open.
Kaito stretched his head back a little bit, and violently thrusted it forward to headbutt with Beryl's. That would have landed some damage, even if slight, as Beryl was sent away by the force. Finding himself at a quite handy advantage, Kaito lunged forward Beryl, directing his enormous palm right in front of Beryl's stomach. "Take this." Right after those words left his mouth, Kaito hit him with a medium sized Ki blast, further sending the dark skinned human away. Now that would have stinged a little bit, as Kaito once again rushed forward by jumping, reaching his peak. The blondie extended his right leg while simultaneously descending right where Beryl was. Once he got closer, Kaito landed a brutal kick in the left side of Beryl's neck.
Kaito landed few centimeters close to Beryl, and performed a somersault to create the same distance they had earlier. Wiping the blood from that earlier punch he took right into his face, Kaito spit a blob of blood on the blue grass of Namek, assuming his usual battle stance. He hoped that those attacks would at least make Beryl's body hurt, even if a little bit. "Judging by that emblem, he's probably in an important orgazination... I can't believe how its shiny features distracted me too." Taking a better look at Beryl's stamp, Kaito assumed that that symbol looked kinda familiar. But he just couldn't get it right where he had seen that.
"Sorry to ruin our battle's momentum but, if acceptable, could you tell me what orgazination are you part of?"
Said the human, who still wasn't getting over the fact that he took that hit. It sure hurt too. However Beryl had yet to see what Kaito was capable of.

Oh, Kaito was pretty fast! Perhaps the only reason he got hit by Beryl’s first punch was because of Beryl’s incredibly shiny and fancy Galactic Patrol badge. The pin blinded the blond, just enough for the dark-skinned human to close the distance and smash Kaito right in the left cheek with a harsh punch. Noticing the opportunity, Beryl tried to capitalize on Kaito’s stunned state. However, Kaito was able to recover quickly enough and managed to evade Beryl’s next punch albeit barely. More punches came, and Kaito deflected them with well-placed, rapid palm swats – each sending the incoming punches off course. The last punch Kaito grabbed, and Beryl widened his eyes from behind his stylish sunglasses. He tried wrenching his grip free but to no avail. Kaito seemed pretty set on keeping him in place, and Beryl soon found out why. Noticing the incoming headbutt, Beryl tilted his head upward so that Kaito would headbutt the top of his head rather than his forehead. Nonetheless, the strike still hurt but the quick shift in position managed to mitigate some of the damage that Beryl would’ve otherwise taken if he had just taken the headbutt head-on. Blinking and slightly dazed, Beryl wasn’t able to do much about the point-blank ki blast even though he saw it coming. The energy blast enveloped his torso and propelled him through the air backwards, black smoke trails pluming from his body. With a grunt, Beryl flipped himself around the air, managing to land on his feet a few meters away from Kaito. Just as Beryl expected, the ki-toting human had the ability to discharge his ki meaning that he had both the range and versatility advantage over Beryl. While he could alternate between all sorts of attacks, Beryl was essentially limited to physical combat alone. If something required external ki, he couldn’t do it. However, Beryl had plenty of experience with overcoming this particular situation. Kaito flew through the air, leg extended outward; he was aiming to knock Beryl right in the face with a vicious, flying kick. Instead of the attack managing to strike true, it connected with Beryl’s raised, left forearm. Blasts of wind exploded from the impact point, swaying the grass and the cloves of trees dotting the serene, Namekian landscape. The villagers watched in awe as the two combatants sparred. With a swift somersault, Kaito positioned himself away from Beryl; however, Beryl was certain to not allow that to last very long. He was just about to speed towards Kaito before the blond asked him a question. Blinking from behind his shades, Beryl straightened himself up, hand reaching to massage the spot where Kaito had headbutted him. “I’m a part of the Galactic Patrol – the newly revived one in fact,” Beryl answered. “I’m not sure if you’re heard of it or not. I wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t; it’s been defunct for years now. Basically, we’re the space police; we just make sure that the galaxy’s safe, and nothing crazy’s going on.” Beryl didn't tell Kaito that he was the leader of the Galactic Patrol; he figured it could wait if Kaito had more questions about the Galactic Patrol or something related. With Kaito’s question answered, Beryl waited a few moments for Kaito to get ready again. He noticed the blondie spitting up globs of blood from the single punch from earlier, and Beryl wouldn’t feel right if he attacked someone who was blatantly unprepared. Suddenly, he charged forward. However, his approach was erratic as he darted from left to right, changing direction constantly. He wasn’t moving so fast that it looked like he was teleported, but rather – it looked like his form was consistently blurry, kind of like what happens to an image if you move a video camera around too quickly. He’d make his way towards Kaito’s right side, right elbow poised to dig into the fellow human’s left side. Then, Beryl threw a low, right kick towards Kaito’s left thigh, aiming to hit the thick muscle with enough force to temporarily stun him. Then, with a rising motion, Beryl tried to uppercut Kaito right on the chin with his dominant, left hand. Something was different about the punch though. It was nothing ki-based as Kaito’s Ki Sense would tell, but just SOMETHING about the uppercut told that it wasn’t an ordinary one -- one fueled by raw, physical strength. Frankly, if Kaito was hit by it, he’d be sent flying through the air like a ragdoll. Plus, Kaito would notice that Beryl’s physical strikes would hurt A LOT more than they first did – that is if he was unfortunate enough to get hit by them. Capsule Breaker [N1] Capsule Breaker, in the simplest terms, is a technique that dramatically increases the concussive power of Beryl's punches. He proposes that if his power is great enough, he can literally launch people into orbit with a single punch. Is that true? It’s probably best if no one finds out for sure. Deals 33% of PL in damage.
Demoralize [UT] Being a straight physical fighter isn’t easy and comes with plenty of disadvantages. However, after learning how to perfect his unique fighting style, Beryl's physical strikes have become ... different. There's something about them that produces far more pain than the usual physical strike and while they may not cause more external or internal damage than other fighters, they often cause anyone who's unfortunate enough to get hit by them to writhe in pain. In terms of what this technique does, it causes all of Beryl's punches to cause far more pain than the typical physical strike which can no doubt mess with a fighter's morale as well as their ability to think and react. [ Just something small, but be careful of having hits automatically land. I'll take hits; I promise! ] Kaito

Kaito swinged his right leg, aiming for Beryl's neck but all he hit was the dark skinned human's skinny left arm. The space police had a thin structure, and he was short as well, but he had unrivaled strength and endruance, considering how quickly he recovered from Kaito's attacks. The blondie backed away and stood few meters before Beryl. The clash between Kaito's leg and Beryl's arm had upsetted the nature a little bit, but you could hear the Namekians cheering loudly. Some of them were stunned by the fighters performance, and some of them were already impatient for the battle to resume again. Spectators sure liked action and didn't care about the fighters feelings, they just want mindless fun.
However, ignoring the cheerers, Kaito asked Beryl a question about this convex shape with a thick dot in it. Kaito was very postive he had seen that before, but couldn't have enough focus to think it out sedately. Despite this, he decided to ask his opponent. He didn't hesitate to answer, as he was touching the part where Kaito headbutted him. Beryl talked with a polite and serious tone. Once he mentioned "Galactic Patrol", Kaito bumped his palm with his fist, a relieved expression escaping his static and gloomy face. That was it, for sure. Kaito's head became all clear now.
"I see, grandpa..."
Kaito started remembering pretty much all of it, where he had seen the symbol, heard the name, or get to know what this organization was about. "I think I remembered where I have seen that symbol." Kaito replied. "In the grey skin of an old space pod located in my home... in Earth. That symbol was carved in it. I was fascinated by it back then, I was a little kid. My grandpa told me stories about his mission, which took place outside Earth. When he returned, that pod was lying behind his back. I think the extraterrestrials gifted that to him. And those extraterrestrials were probably related with Galactic Patrol in some way." Kaito had it all clear now. His grandpa's waves had reached even the outskirts of the galaxies. He shed a tear from his eyes remembering his deceased grandpa. He snuffled a few times before quickly covering his face with his hands. He didn't want the space police to see him in that state. Kaito had sworn to himself that he'd give his best to put a good performance against him, and crying would totally ruin everything. Kaito cleared his throat, and his eyes were free of tears now. He had regained the usual Kaito-face, being all gloomy but bright at the same time. He really hoped Beryl didn't notice that. And he acted like nothing happened. "I see. You and your friends are trying to restore Galactic Patrol back to its glory, eh? That sounds great!"
Kaito took his battle stance again, getting fully accustomed to his circumstances yet once again. He was facing the strongest person he had even encountered, till now. As both parties finished talking, the battle resumed again. Beryl quickly darted forward, this time with zig-zag movements, accompanied with insane speed. That's right, a speed that insane that Kaito wasn't able to keep up properly. He didn't see Beryl's figure anymore, just the colors of his skin and his clothes. Without hesitation, Kaito tilted his body a little bit to get more comfortable with his stance, and stared analyzing the situation. The first attack of Beryl was very straight forward, with a simple lunging forward and fundamental punches. This time it was different, and Kaito was very sure that Beryl'd try something different. He wouldn't exactly perform those zig-zag movements to throw the same punches as he did earlier, there must be more to it. Maybe he could blitz right past Kaito, hitting him in any vulnerable spot, or maybe he could use any Ki technique which would blast Kaito away. So what would be the best option for this scenario? To eleminate all the dangerous possibilities away. Kaito couldn't afford trying his luck like he did earlier, evading that punch. This time, Kaito wouldn't allow Beryl to get close either. Having these in mind, Kaito took normal position again, his arms let loose and his legs spread apart. As Beryl continued to march forward with great speed, Kaito placed his palms in front of his face, his fingers pointing forward the eyes. Then he screamed out a name, before jumping backwards. The second after, a blinding light emitted from Kaito's body, mainly his face and palms. This immense blindling light would momentarily brighten the enitre field, confuse and hinder Beryl's vision, who by now should be hitting nothing by air. The Namekians were also affected by this, though in smaller amounts compared to Beryl.
Kaito floated above as the opponent was probably rubbing his eyes behind the sunglasses desperately, trying to get the vision back to normal again. "A chance..." This was a golden chance for the human. With Beryl being out of the game for short moments, Kaito could apply some damage to him. As a small grin rested on the blondie's face. He manipulated his Ki in such a way that two Ki spheres would rotate around his body. Kaito grabbed the both of them in his palms. One of them, he hurled it down to where Beryl was, aimed at his chest. Once the ball left his palm, Kaito appeared right behind Beryl, and directed the other Ki sphere somewhere in the middle of the spinal cord. Kaito backflipped a few meters before the balls would explode, Beryl being in the heart of the blast.
The explosion gave off a strong wind which pushed some Namekians off their feet, and the tall trees dotting the sky would lose a lot of their leaves as well. Kaito was being wary though, that attack should have done some damage but he didn't underestimate Beryl. In Kaito's mind however, something was being kneaded. "Galactic Patrol, huh...?" Kaito looked up at the green sky, trying to visualize the vast space. "If Beryl would let me get into it, that would be interesting." He focused back to the created dust as a result of the explosion. It was slowly fading away. "I'll make sure to ask Beryl about this, definitely."

“!?”Ki swelled within Kaito’s body, working up his body before settling in his head and hands. The pose the blonde took was an odd one, but given the energy build-up, Beryl had a feeling that some sort of ki technique was about to come up. Surely enough, after a harsh scream from Kaito, an obscenely bright light covered the entire area. It invaded Beryl’s eyes, penetrating through his sunglasses. With a grunt, he staggered backwards, temporarily stunned. He couldn’t focus enough to launch a concentrated attack, like one of his world-breaking punches, and now – Kaito was on the move. He had heard of the Solar Flare before. It was a trademark technique of the Turtle School and since its inception; it has been used by many fighters all over the galaxy. It functioned like a flashbang grenade minus the ear-ringing noise, and judging by how it was crippling Beryl right now, it was a very effective technique. Still, although he couldn’t see, Beryl could feel exactly where the blonde was, tracking both his ki and electrical signatures. Abruptly, Kaito’s ki and electrical signatures darted upward; he was currently airborne. Ki funneled through the blonde’s body, aggregating within his hands. Another ki-based attack was coming. Two more blobs of ki appeared in Beryl’s mind’s eye. They revolved around Kaito like satellites. One was then hurled towards Beryl, aiming to slam right into his chest. Even with the incoming attack, Beryl didn’t move. Kaito reappeared behind Beryl, attempting to place the orb somewhere near the dark-skinned human’s spinal cord. Again, Beryl remained eerily motionless. The ki spheres detonated like dynamite, rattling the entire area with rock-breaking force. Just as Kaito stuck his backflip, he’d feel a presence behind him. It was Beryl. The Galactic Patrol leader’s speed was like lightning on crack. He deftly evaded the explosion just in the nick of time, timing his dodge so that he could ambush Kaito at the right moment. The Solar Flare’s blinding effects were starting to wear off. Wasting no time, Beryl threw a barrage of bruising punches Kaito’s way, aiming for his face, chest, torso and sides. He’d keep this up for a couple of moments before attempting to grab Kaito, sock him a couple of times in the gut before hurling him to the ground. He noted Kaito’s emotional response once the Galactic Patrol was mentioned, but he made no comment about it. That could wait until the spar was over. Electro-sensing [UT2] A variant of Ki Sensing that allows Beryl to sense individuals based on their electrical signatures. While this doesn’t allow him to gauge power-levels, it does allow him to sense the presence of even Androids. He can also memorize electrical signatures and is able to identify people based on them alone.
Translocate [SU1] used.
Ki Sensing [UT] used.
"Heh"
Kaito grinned under his teeth, under the impression that he had finally managed to land a considerable damaging hit on the space police. Just as the explosions occurred, Kaito performed a back flip and was landing in safer distances. Although it was hard to believe that someone might come out completely fine after that blast, Kaito was still on alert and carefully picking his movements. Kaito liked to think that he had finally grasped Beryl under his flow, but a slight and unwavering feeling was slowly conquering Kaito's heart. He was being a little doubtful, Beryl did not move an inch even though two Ki spheres resided themselves on his body. Normally a person would be mentally or physically responsive, but that wasn't Beryl's case. For this sole reason, Kaito saved up quite a good amount of Ki before hand.
The human was slowly moving through the air, in a backwards manner. He was getting closer and closer to land. Kaito was pretty sure that once he'd landed, he could come up with a sort of defensive move against anything Beryl could pull off, but being air-borne was a tricky situation. The blondie didn't have full control of his body and movement, and if Beryl was to magically appear beside him now, that would scream bad news. As Kaito was thinking these, his unsettling feeling finally emerged into a physical form. Kaito's brown hues retracted themselves in their sockets, his eyes widening, as he realized that the dark skinned human appeared behind him. "Oh... shit." Kaito talked in his mind, because he didn't the time to even open his mouth in front of those immensly strong looking punches that were coming towards him. The blondie was about to get hit for the second time from those terrifying fists of Beryl. Nevertheless, Kaito wasn't completely miserable, he had thought of a plan against this "what-if" situation, which now was really happening. Nonetheless, a few punches were inevitable. Kaito halted harshily in mid air, before Beryl's punches would shake his entire being as they hit. They were aimed literally in every part of Kaito's body, leaving a destructive like sensation in those parts that were affected. Of course, Kaito wasn't just staying there like a training dummy and taking all the hits. In the meantime, he had made a lot of Ki come together in his body, and very soon, Beryl's punches would hit a solid, round and shiny barrier which obscured the sight of both parties. This naturally was Kaito's doing. Although this was the first time he'd use this in a battle, it seemed like he did pretty well.
He trained this particular technique in the voyage to Namek, in Riku's spaceship. During the travel, Kaito, Gnash and Riku had decided to have a little spar with each other. Riku had Kaito and Gnash team up against him, and he didn't disappoint, he actually managed to hold his own very well against the duo. Anyhow, by Gnash's request, Riku decided to demonstrate a technique of his, which revolved around a redish basketball sized sphere. Copying what Riku did, Kaito was able to have bigger spheres rotate around his body. This was basically an upgraded version of those Ki blobs he used earlier, of course having more destructive and defensive powers. The human wasn't very optimistic about this technique, but it seemingly had turned out well. As Beryl's punches were hitting, Kaito materialised two medium sized spheres to appear in front of him, merging with each other and create a round barrier of sorts, which would block every single of Beryl's remaining punches.
The human panted heavily, his nose and mouth covered in blood. He had bruises in every other part of the body too, as it was trembling in fear and still taking its time to recover from those punches. Kaito backed off and landed on the ground, dropping on his knees and contuining to inhale greatly to catch his breath. He had to admit, this was actually the first time he took this much of a beating. Kaito's brown hues scattered over Beryl, whose image was slowly starting to come into view as the Ki sphere was starting to fade away. Kaito was holding his most injured body parts with his palms, he was agonizing in pain. Kaito lowered his eyes and stared at the blue grass, which had few dots of red blood sprinkled over the grass. A few, thin and lengthy sweat drops rained over the grass as well, before Kaito threw his vision at Beryl again. He wanted to have a talk with him before he'd that, whom Kaito was dead serious about now.
Kaito ploded a little bit as he stood on his foots again, his palms still squeezing his injures. "Beryl-san, as straight forward as this may sound, I have taken an interest in this organization you're part of, the Galactic Patrol." Kaito didn't want to stretch this out that much, or else he'd lose his focus on the battle. Kaito didn't want this momentum to get ruined, although he still considered this little talk to be important. "I can go on expanding my reasoning later... but now..." Kaito removed his hands from their earlier postion and let them free, wavering a little bit. He remembered his master, Saitama's words.
"That was a splendid performance of yours, Kaito-kun. I think you're able to stand on your own from now on, you don't need the help of an old geezer anymore. However, Kaito-kun, think twice or thrice before you use that... or else the stress on your body will cost greatly."
Kaito's breath regulated a little bit, now Kaito feeling a little bit more normal and fine. He hovered his brown hues towards his own body. It still ached a little bit, but compared to that pain earlier, this was gold. "Beryl-san is the first one to have pushed me to this limit... I'm going to use that technique for the last round of this battle..." Kaito exhaled nervously. The technique he was about to use right now, is said to be pretty dangerous to your body. Although it gives you boost power, the after effects are quite draining. Kaito didn't care much about these right now. All he had in his mind is to finally land a real hit on Beryl, and make him acknowledge Kaito's power, and that he was worth of joining the Galactic Patrol.
The human slided his legs apart, and spread his arms forward, his palms clenched into a fist. To put it simply, his hands were mirroring his legs and vice versa. Kaito's muscular body shadowed over the battlefield, as a thin white aura stroked his flesh. Kaito's shoutings could be heard in a far distance away. In an blink of an eye, Kaito flared his white, shiny aura. It had spiky and rotating ends, which traveled around Kaito in great speeds. If Beryl was paying attention, he could feel Kaito's power increase drasrically. Kaito continued his shoutings, and the white aura growing larger. With this amount of Ki kneaded up in his body, Kaito could finally touch over the secretive energy reserve in his body. Due to this, Kaito's muslces, specifically his arms, legs and chest bulked.
"Aaarghhhh...!"
The white aura was charged to its max, and with a simple outwards movement of his arms and body done by Kaito, that energy would release itself in the form of an energy wave, affecting almost everything in its range. The poor Namekians were sent flying away to not be seen anymore, and the nearby trees were cut off and also sent away. Of course, Beryl would also be pushed back a little bit, if he didn't defend properly. His vision would be obscured by the bright and blinding white light which surrounded the entire battlefield. As it slowly started to fade away, in the center stood the source of that, Kaito. He now had a bigger presence, and he looked like he weighted few tons. Kaito could feel his power surging in his body, as he looked over Beryl. His wounds didn't ache anymore. The human bended his knees a little bit, and launched himself towards Beryl with unimaginable speed. Nearby cliffs and trees were wiped out solely by the winds created by Kaito's speed. In matter of milli seconds, Kaito now was centimeters in front of Beryl. The human pulled his arm back and swung it forwards, aimed at Beryl's face. He continued with consecutive punches all over Beryl's body, alternating his fists. Kaito also used his legs to thrust Beryl down, the sheer power of the impact created a crater. Kaito shot himself down, with his head down as an arrow, and striked Beryl's stomach with his skull.
Even though he had gained immense power, Kaito could feel fatigue taking over his body. This was the first time he had used this after all. Kaito once again dropped on his knees, barely conscious. He panted heavily, peering down the crater to see Beryl's whereabouts.
"Huff... huff... huf..."

The first few punches struck hardened flesh; however, the ones that followed crashed into some kind of strange energy barrier. Arching a brow, Beryl acknowledged the ki construct’s existence but proceeded his string of rapid-fire punches. Perhaps he’d be able to break through it; after all, he had done similar things in the past such as dissipating ki blasts and beams with a single focused punch. The more Beryl punched, the more he realized that the barrier wasn’t giving way. If he used his full power, then the shield would’ve crumpled like a tin can flattened by a steamroller. However, going one hundred percent against Kaito, who was already weighed down by heavy clothing, would’ve been overkill. Eventually, the barrier disappeared. Beryl stopped his onslaught and looked Kaito over. The blonde looked like a mess with fresh, crimson blood splattered all over his mouth and nose. Beryl grimaced; he didn’t mean to beat Kaito down that badly, and just when he was about to ask if the fellow human was good to continue the spar, Kaito presented an unexpected interest of his: he wanted to join the Galactic Patrol. By Kaito’s request, Beryl didn’t press the issue; it could wait until after the spar. The lull didn’t last long. Before Beryl’s very eyes, Kaito began to power up. His power began to steadily increase, breaking several thresholds above where he once was. Beryl watched in silent interest; he had experienced the same thing before except on a more potent scale. When Abzerute nearly beat Beryl half to death, a deep-seated pool of energy within Beryl’s being became unlocked, granting him with immense reserves of strength, speed, stamina and vitality. Kaito was drawing upon a similar power – no doubt a result of the tremendous physical and mental stress he had endured ever since the spar started. Beryl braced himself as ripples of concentrated energy cascaded from the blonde’s body. While Kaito powered up, the Galactic Patrol leader’s power didn’t remain the same. It too grew in magnitude as Beryl had a feeling that Kaito’s next assault would be much more destructive than before. And he was right. With blistering speed, Kaito charged, nearly closing the distance between him and Beryl in the span of a few milliseconds. Instead of Kaito’s first punch connecting with Beryl’s face, it smashed into Beryl’s raised forearm. A shockwave exploded outward from the force of the blow, and as the blonde continued with his punching barrage, Beryl defended the best he could though some punches managed to slip through his guard. The punches hurt like hell, and it was clear that all of the screaming and charging up wasn’t just for show. “This guy!” Noticing the thrust kick, Beryl crossed his arms in front of his body, the soles of Kaito’s feet ramming into his guard. The double-kick was powerful enough to send Beryl spiraling down towards the ground, complete with an earth-shaking boom and a gigantic crater. Blinking and coughing in pain, he noticed Kaito barreling down towards him like a human torpedo. Furrowing his brow, Beryl unleashed the full breadth of his power, his power level spiking well above two million. Kaito’s headbutt managed to strike true, causing even more dust and debris to fly up into the air. As Kaito huffed and puffed near the crater’s edge, there would be no visual or verbal sign of Beryl. Eventually, the dark-skinned human managed to rise to his feet. He looked pretty busted-up with bruises and cuts peppering his face and arms. If he hadn’t increased his power once Kaito went batshit insane, Beryl would’ve been in some serious trouble. Noting Kaito’s position, Beryl hovered up out of the crater before landing at its edge. He looked over Kaito, concerned frown on his face. The guy barely looked conscious, and his injuries needed to be tended to. “You’re really something else, Kaito,” Beryl complimented, brushing off dirt off of his green, collared shirt. “Physically powerful, mentally tough and you have an expert grasp on ki … You’re going to go far, Kaito. I know it. All you have to do is be persistent in your training; don’t let anything stop you from reaching your goals. If you need help with anything regarding that, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I would hate to see your potential go wasted, and I feel I’d be doing you a disservice by not helping you.” Beryl stepped closer, dark-brown eyes examining the fellow human’s wounds. “Come on. Let’s get you fixed up. Then, we can get your position as a Galactic Patrol agent settled. That is, if you wish it.”Kaito had passed the test. He was now a member of an elite force: the Galactic Patrol. Kaito

No less expected by the space police, he was blocking the punches of a transformed Kaito. This, however, would last for two or three more hits until a strike would slip through Beryl's tight defense and mess his face up. The dark skinned human couldn't do much about the mighty kick. Namekians from far away could see a silhouette being thrown at great speeds right down below, causing a huge impact and creating a crater. By this point, Kaito had already lost his usual reasoning. His mind was filled with nothing but intents to crush the space police. The muscular body of Kaito was let free, slowly floating above the crater. He was about to fling himself right into Beryl's chest area, like a human torpedo.
Suddenly, Kaito felt a fatigue take over his body, and Beryl's power going back to its original size. "Ahh..." It was too late now, Kaito was already starting to lose consciousness as he fell downwards, striking nothing but the hard surface Beryl was resting few seconds ago. Regardless, all Kaito could do was slow down a little bit, to not have that clash with the rocks be a fatal one. Kaito put his arms in front of his face before a booming sound was heard. Namekians started gathering around again from their respective corners they ended up from earlier. The kind-hearted aliens were still willing to look over the human, even though he was the main reason the field was almost completely turned into a barren wasteland.
The human huffed heavily, eager to fill his lungs with as much oxygen as possible. He was buried under all sorts of pebbles and his blood. Kaito could feel immense pain going through his body, his muscles eventually going back to their former state. Kaito looked like a mess in the outside, but he was going through a joyful state of mind inside his psyche. A little grin escaped his lips, to only be replaced by a genuine smile. He was reminiscing about his grandfather. "I... I finally did it, Grandpa. I finally became the man you hoped me to be. I..."
Kaito opened his eyes, a shadowy figure standing in front of him. It was Beryl Roarke, Kaito's sparring partner. The blondie began to crawl over the crater. He was trying to adjust his body into the right position. He didn't want Beryl to see him in that state. But his body was refusing to listen obediently. After all, it was crippled. Kaito was lucky enough that he was feeling every part of his body. Not much different from Kaito, Beryl also too was bruised and blemished all over. He had a soft frown on his face, as his eyes behind the shades stared down at Kaito.
The space police started praising Kaito for all he had done during the spar. He labelled him as a strong individual physically and mentally, also an expert at controlling Ki. Beryl also noted Kaito's future to be bright, and he encouraged him to never slack off on training and tear through any obstacle he stumbles upon. Knowing that Beryl would always be there for him in times of need and help, Kaito faintly blinked his eyes. Even though he had it hard to open his mouth, he was going to do it no matter what.
"I-I am g-glad to have been y-your sparring... partner... Beryl Roarke..."
Kaito passed out. He didn't hear he was accepted into the Galactic Patrol. And it was better this way honestly because judging Kaito's nature, he'd do anything reckless to further add the stress build up on his body. The Namekians didn't get what was going on, but they rushed down to Beryl and Kaito. Judging by Kaito's motionless smile that remained on his face, and Beryl stepping closer to the human, they started dancing around in joy.
