Etoru frowned at the candidates. He hated how this went out. Hopefully Vi-Poi would take up on his offer. And with that said, he flew off and went back to the lookout. "Well...no free stuff for me..." he mumbled.

"Oh fiddly dibbity dee nab it, it seems my plan to miss the boring part of the debate backfired. I missed the whole part where everyone makes their cool speech instead...and likely my main chance at winning this thing..."
A bit of sweat rolling down his forehead, Jax stared at the cameras nervously, as he tried to keep his composure. It was a good thing that he had years of performing on live television under his belt, because otherwise he wouldn't be able to hide the fact that he had no clue what to do in this circumstance. His unorthodox entrance was supposed to be an opening to a great night long act, not the whole act itself. To make matters even worse, the "special guest" or whatever the Arcosian was supposed to be invited a few of the other candidates to some event, claiming his chosen few the ones likeliest to win the role president, and thus liking cementing that idea in the minds of the viewers watching the debate air all over the planet. Examining his audience, it was clear to Jax that most of them were bored at this point and just wanted to go home. If he couldn't turn this thing around, the election was as good as over, and he might as well pack up and go home.
"No...it can't end like this...not for me...not for a PUNCHLUST..."
Caught up in a strange mix of utter agitation with his situation and the exhilaration of being on stage in front of a live audience, Jax placed two hands on the microphone, as he went in for his "big moment" of the debate.
"Uh...erm...hello everybody..." Jax stared into the eyes of the crowd, as the crowd stared back at him. He didn't know exactly what to say, or do, or how to one would even start to redeem themselves from the predicament he found himself in. But he was a showman, and what a showman was good at was figuring things out as they went along. Taking a moment to take a breath, Jax breathed in some fresh air and gathered his thoughts, as he continued. "I know it's not my turn and all, and I already showed up late, but since the show seems to be winding down now, I thought I should speak next. So, if it's alright with you groovy babies, I'm going to answer the big question of tonight."
Jax took his hands on the podium, and started to ease up on his stature. The sweat seemed to have stopped for the time being, or at the very least, to the point where it was no longer a nuisance to him. A wave of confidence started to wash over Jax, as he remembered how easy dramatic speaking was.
"And that question is this; if I become president what am I going to do for Earth? Now, what you may all see up here is a man running for a job that he may not be qualified for. But as those who watched my programs know, I am not against adversary. In fact I welcome it. Because if there is one thing I can deal with it's adversary. I take adversary, and I karate chop it half like it was nothing! Wu-HAAAA!" After chopping his podium for some added effect to his speech, he paused for a brief second, taking a quick moment to look down at his hand, in which words smeared together in purple sharpie, making it rather hard to make out. "And earth is dealing with a lot of adversary. In the recent year, Earth has dealt with attacks from the SSE, and it was...not great..."Jax couldn't read the last part of that sentence so he just tried to add a touch of personal agony at the end of it for some sympathy from the audience, even though Jax barely had any ideas what the SSE attacks on Earth even were, and he had just looked online for recent catastrophic events to bring up during his speech.
"In preparing for similar events, many will tell you Earth will need to change almost completely. We'll need to militarize more, or train more citizens, or whatever lame and unrad stuff the other candidates will try to tell you. And that's true, we will need to get stronger. We will need to bring our forces up to par with that of other planets, so that nothing like that can ever happen again. But in doing so, we cannot lose what makes Earth special. In doing so, we cannot lose the fact that unlike the Arcosian or Saiyan empires, we are a planet based primary on the idea of bringing and keeping of peace. In doing so we cannot lose sight that we are a planet full of multiple species and cultures, something that is uncommon for most parts of the galaxy. In doing so, we have to hold onto the fact that we are the grooviest and funkiest planet in the whole gosh darn galaxy." Mid-way through his last sentence Jax got in a different pose, shifting his focus to his other hand which rested on his podium, trying to make sure his reading wasn't noticeable.
"So we must...erm...we have to build defenses. We have to bring together the all of Earth's forces, like the blue army and those fighters..." The ink was getting too smeared, too hard to read. It was time to go ad-lib. "Because when the people of Earth unite against a cause, we are unstoppable. When we bring together all our forces, all our might, nothing can stop us. In the past, over and over again, when beings of significant power have come to our planet seeking destruction, we have pushed back." Jax turned his head towards the cameras, trying to keep as serious a countenance as possible. "So what am I going to do if I become president? Well, I'm going to keep on being groovy, and I'm going to try and lead Earth in a way so it can keep doing what it's always done; be a place of peace, and kick the behind of anyone who tries to stand in the way of harmony in the galaxy. Thank you all for your time, and goodnight y'all."
Ready to leave this event, just so his nerves could finally settle down, Jax gave everyone a few more peace signs, before placing a fist up into the air and flying out of the hole he had created upon entering. "KEEP BEING THE UPMOST OF RADICAL, CITIZENS OF EARTH!"

I guess that concludes negotiations, Presdon thought to himself as he watched Vi Poi and Shin began their exit. He took a deep breath to calm himself down as he straightened his tie. He had gotten quite heated during the debate, more so than he had realized, and his heart was pounding in his chest. In all honesty, it was an exhilarating feeling. Presdon hadn’t felt this way in years, not since his first time running for mayor in his town. It made him feel alive, especially since he felt he made a compelling argument and proved himself up against the likes of Vi Poi. He raised one hand and waved to the crowd, a large smile on his face. “Thank you, people of Earth, for having me here tonight. I can’t claim to have done the same things that Mr. Poi has done, both the good and the bad, but I can promise you that Earth’s well-being is my top priority. I will make sure Earth not only survives, but thrives amongst such adversity as the Saiyans. The military can only take us so far before its and Earth’s growth becomes static and war only takes us so far. Let’s make Earth stand as a planet of peace and prosperity that’s revered throughout the galaxy, not feared like the Saiyans! Unite together for a stronger Earth!” Presdon said, taking his signature finger point pose. The crowd roared and he waved once again, still smiling. After a moment, the politician dropped his hand and went to organize his papers. His fingers began to reach down towards the documents when the first bloody image flashed into his mind. Presdon’s hands moved to the edges of his podium and gripped the wood tightly. The images of war and death flashed rapidly through his mind and the overwhelming power of who he assumed was Queen Zucceta weighed down upon him. His fingertips were white with how hard he was gripping the podium and a drop of sweat slid down his forehead. Then he heard Vi Poi’s voice in his head, followed by the image of the android shooting him through the chest. His jaw tightened and his face hardened. Intimidation, the dirtiest tactic in the book. If you thought intimidation would work on me, you’re sorely mistaken, Presdon snapped back. If you truly cared for Earth, you would swallow your own pride and help its people on matter which way the ballot would swing. Before you begin lecturing me about humility, learn to control your own hubris and work with whoever becomes president to defend Earth. The fact that you would stand against me if I become president lends me to believe that power is your only want, not the well-being and safety of Earth. So make your choice, Vi Poi. Show Earth you truly have its best interests in mind or prove yourself the monster many think you are. I’m not backing down, not when someone like you could be the one running my planet. Presdon looked up to Vi Poi as the images faded from his mind, determined to stand against the android. That’s when the second android, Shin, walked up, ready to intimidate the young man was well. Presdon returned his hard stare. “False promises, Shin? You lecture me about false promises and hubris? Last I checked, you were the one who came to the debate armed with misinformation and I proved your points false. If that’s why you’re mad, then you need to take a step back and look at yourself before you begin trying to correct me. This isn’t a position you can do something wrong, say ‘Whoops, sorry,’ and it’ll just make it all better. This is a planet we’re talking about. One wrong choice and it’s over for all of us. I never treated this race as a game and I intend to lead Earth to the best of my ability. I think you should address some of our other opponents about treating this as a game or just a prize to be one before me.” Presdon began reaching for his papers again when a bright flash of light blinded him. He grunted in surprise and covered his eyes, though it didn’t do much to help. He heard paper fluttering around and Shin walking off as his vision began to clear. He blinked a few times to clear the last of the spots in his eyes and saw his papers fluttering down into the crowd. “Real professional,” the man growled under his breath as he left the stage. Great. Two people were against him now with a death threat to boot. His first step into intergalactic politics was going so well. [Thread Exit, Zeni please]
