This was the building she had been told to enter, yet when she had arrived entry had been denied. Unlike Kabocha, the Saiyan warrior that stood before her had yet to offer any verbal response. She of course had begun to explain herself, but an upturned hand silenced her. While rude, just like Kabocha had been earlier, she was smart enough to see the intent behind it. This Captain Jala had already agreed to meet with her and the male that stood before her had likely been given that information. Silently Shemha wondered how hard it would have been for the soldier to just say what she assumed instead of the cold greeting she had received. She had grown up alongside a human, were all Saiyan’s like this?
Not being granted entry to the structure in front of her made sense. The better part of Vegeta was open to its public, which allowed for commerce and civilian travel. Military institutions seemed to be another case. The Majin wondered if this had always been the way or perhaps it was something newly developed as a result of the failed invasion of Earth. The people of the blue planet did not come off as the type to seek conquering another world, but she had to believe striking back at their enemies crossed their minds. Vegeta didn’t appear as if on high alert, yet that is exactly how one would want it to appear from a tactical standpoint. When she realized how much she had begun to assume about her potential future home, Shemha reigned herself back in. These concerns were not yet hers, she wasn’t even sure how this Jala individual would receive her.
In silence she stood, a rather patient girl when she needed to be. Hands folded together in front of her she looked akin to a red statue. Her black eyes rested casually on the armored Saiyan that stood before her. If he was unsettled by the calm stare he showed no outwards sign of it. When she had travelled with her former master her unwavering eyes had gotten in her into trouble on occasion. Apparently some felt uncomfortable under the gaze, the way she never blinked somewhat off putting. Over the recent months she had begun to use the stare as a minor assessment, the reaction she got from others a small hint at the nature of her character. With her decisions no longer made for her, Shemha had begun to develop her own skills for interacting with clients and the like.

“Captain… theres a uh… pinkish red… thing… to see you” one of the recruits said jogging up to her looking not entirely sure of himself as he spoke and clearly wishing he had gotten a bit more information on the situation. “Private Liye is keeping it at the door but it’s apparently been asking for you specifically. Should we send it away oooor” the Recruit continued as Jala turned from the recruits she had been overseeing, they did not actually need her oversight but her looming gaze had a rather profound effect on there work etthic, generally so for the better. But the description provided by the recruit indicated that the person she was meeting with was here.
“Tall, feminine, with a squishy texture to her skin?” Jala questioned listing off a basic description of a female majin, she’d been told the girl was one but not all saiyans were familiar with the sopecies. The recruit nodded adding slightly more to the description “Good, let her through she is welcome, she had a meeting schedualed with me.” Jala stated giving the recruit a stern ‘go now’ look to which he quickly responded by fleeing back to the entrance.
“You lot, clear out over to weight training, I’m going to need the sparing area” Jala barked to the other recruits who promptly wrapped up there last spar and departed under Jala’s orders. Rolling her shoulders Jala would await the arrival of the majin girl, she evidently held interest in joining the Empire, or at the very least learning more to see if she would fit, a Majin was an interesting prospect for a recruit and ceartainly something Habana would hold interest in specifically, all that in mind it was worth the chance to speak with the girl and test her out to see if it was worthwhile to recruit her.
“Liye, the Captain says she’s clear to come on in.” the recruit said as he dashed up to the taller saiyan’s side, he’d so far managed to entirely ignore basically everything the Majin had said short of her basic information such as her claim that she was to meet with Captain Jala. He frowned slightly at the fact that apparently the claim was in fact legitimate, with the Captain ordering her to be allowed in there was nothing he could do and so he would step to the side allowing Shema access. “Follow me, I can bring you right to her.” the other recruit would say to Shema trying his best not to stare at her in wide eyed confusion.

Tirelessly, the Majin held her stance. Words mostly ignored by her current roadblock, there was little more the girl could do except wait. From the part of conversation she had overhead with Kabocha, permission had been granted to meet Captain Jala. Yet, she had no intentions of forcing herself into that situation. First impressions were everything and to act in such a way was completely unacceptable. In short order her patience was rewarded as a second soldier joined them at the door. Much to Private Liye’s dismay, the newest member of the brief trio supported her claim and went as far as to invite her to follow him. With a small smile she gave a respectful nod to the Saiyan who had proudly performed his duty as door guard before she promptly stepped around him. ”Of course.” The Majin was quick to fall in line behind her escort. Silently she found a minor amusement in this, her original request to Kabocha that he escort her to Queen Zucceta or Commander Habana. How much time it would have saved if the soldier she had initially approached had just escorted her to Jala himself. Protocols, she understood the need for them in such a military based society, but they could be so inefficient at times. Of course she had no intention of sharing these thoughts with her escort of the Captain. Ever since the absorption of her previous master, such thoughts were common, notions that she could suggest better alternatives to scenarios. Before she had never really given much thought to her own opinions, she simply looked to her master and took his opinion or decisions as her own. Mental freedom was a strange thing. Still, she knew better then to suggest perceived improvements or ideas to those she had just met. That is not what she had come here for. Regardless of her increased confidence and willpower, she felt a void in her current lifestyle. From what she had experienced in the last two years, “freedom” was overrated. That word is what many would label her separation from the man who had owned her, but to the Majin such individualism left her with a lack of purpose. What was she to accomplish floating around the galaxy, fulfilling her own wishes? Mercenary work was not satisfying to her in itself as there was no real end to it, no goal or objective to be reached in the long term. What she had learned of the SSE made her believe the Empire had a long term vision, something Shemha could work towards in the service of another. Then she might have purpose again. As she followed the soldier into the training area, Shemha got her first look at such an installation. She had never set foot in a structure like this, all of her training having taken place in the wilds. Multiple soldiers occupied the area, a number of them strapping on what looked to be additional clothing onto their frames. A tilt of her head showed the Majin’s clear interest in what they were doing, but her attention was focused forward as her escort introduced the Captain she had come to meet. Like the Saiyan Queen and Commander, Captain Jala was a female. From Shemha’s assessment she was older than the majority of the soldiers she had met thus far, her age perhaps contributing to her higher station. Fit as expected of any Saiyan warrior, the woman looked to be a fine example of her proud people all the way up to the thick black hair that hung down her back. When the guard was done with his introduction, Shemha proceeded with her own. ”Captain Jala.” The recognition of the woman’s title accompanied by a low bow, the stance held for several seconds before Shemha rose back to her full height. ”My name is Shemha and I have requested an audience with someone of authority so that I may offer my services to the Solar Saiyan Empire. If it will have me, that is.” With that the Majin’s hands clasped behind her back and her eyes fixed on those of the Saiyan woman before her. Her words were a little forward, but only because she wished to get her point across early. The Majin saw no reason to draw out the conversation with pointless banter, a Captain’s schedule was often a busy one.

The trip from the entrance of the barracks all the way to the main training room where Captain Jala awaited them was thankfully quite short for the recruit, the Majin while not at all hostile made him feel incredibly uneasy, he'd heard all sorts of terrifying stories about the Majin race, most of them from more seasoned soldiers, in truth much of these stories were embellishments or outright false, stories to tell to spook new recruits such as he, but the recruit did not know this and so as soon as he had lead the Majin to the Captain he gave a brief salute to his superior and then dashed off to continue his other work in hopes that she would not call him back.
Luckily for the recruit Jala had no interest in detaining him further barely even noticing as he made his dash out of the room as she settled her attention onto the majin woman, surprisingly respectful and well spoken she introduced herself and explained her reasons for coming to Vegeta. A majin looking to join the Empire was an interesting prospect, most Majin fell into either two groups, those who had a almost childlike view of the world which often painted the Empire as 'bad guys' that they would never associate, or loner's looking chiefly to expand there own personal strength, they worked well as mecenarys but held little interest in tying themselves to the Empire.
Tapping her scouter Jala got a read on the Majin's strength, a rather impressive seven and a half thousand, far more than the average recruit and even more than many of the prospective trainees that she and Habana had been picking up. “You've come to the right place then, I may not hold the highest rank in the Empire but I do work directly under our Commander. I'm curious however, your interest in offering your services to the Empire, I was lead to believe that you sought more than normal mercenary work is this correct?” Jala asked mostly to confirm what she had been told, the messages she had received about the persistent Majin.
“It is rare that those seeking a mercenary contract with the Empire end up meeting with me directly, usually that work is dealt with by others. My understanding was that you might be seeking a place among the ranks of the Empire itself. If so, why, what drives you to join the Empire?” Jala asked taking a bit of time to look the Majin over a bit better, Majin physiques were often a frustratingly useless view on an individuals physical capabilities however they sometimes provided clues on the warrior's style of combat, big bulky Majins tended to be melee powerhouses, thin and lithe Majins such as Shema however tended towards either a more dexterous style of melee combat, or a focus on ranged ki manipulation.

Shemha kept quiet as the Captain spoke. The Majin was an excellent listener, especially when someone of authority addressed her. This Jala had not originally been on her radar as an individual to seek out, yet the soldiers she had come across pointed to her. Her own words confirmed the rank she held amongst the Saiyan military, she served Habana directly. For Shemha that was second only to meeting the Commander herself. If she could convince the Captain of her desire to serve the Solar Saiyan Empire she was confident that would accomplish the goal she had arrived with. As respectful as ever, the red female kept her mouth shut until her superior was done speaking.
”You are correct, Captain Jala. For the better part of my life I belonged to a mercenary named Ront Faust. When he was no longer of this world, I was given my freedom and continued down that path only to find that such work is not for me. The life of a mercenary is…pointless, to put it kindly. Recently I have heard of the actions of Queen Zucceta and Commander Habana, both powerful and respectable woman in their own rights. Their reputations along with that of the Empire have drawn me here.” Hands still clasped behind her back, Shemha was as relaxed as she ever had been as she attempted to explain the circumstances of her visit.
”While I arrived here as a mercenary I do not mean to offer myself in such a disrespectful and self righteous way. What I would like, is to offer myself to your commanders in whatever way they see fit. I am capable in combat as well as many other tasks, any use they might have for me is completely up to them. I am not weak or incapable on my own, but find little desire to proceed down a path with no real goal. I would much rather offer myself to a cause far greater than my own and serve the Empire to the greatest of my ability.” To some, perhaps Saiyans even more so, the request might have been rather odd, but the neutral expression her face was a serious one.
There was a very real chance the Captain might reject her on the spot, for those as powerful as the Queen and Commander might nod need another like her. If that was the decision the Majin would honor it. Of course she hoped Jala saw worth in her, it had been too long since her life had held true meaning. Freedom, wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Jala listened curiously as Shema spoke briefly describing her past and confirming that prior to her arrival here she has acted as a mercenary though now it appeared that she had gained a distaste for the mercenary lifestyle, while a touch odd for a Majin it was not entirely uncommon for people in general to not find that sort of lifestyle particularly enjoyable. It was a tough life as it necessitated constant pursuit of new work and unless you could make a solid name for yourself a reliance on your ability to project yourself as a capable warrior.
“You are a very interesting person Shema.” Jala stated slowly beginning to walk around the Majin in order to better take in her apperance even if it meant little in regards to the Majin's actual fighting capabilities “Majin rarely seek to tie themselves to any particular group, I know of at least one other with a notable affiliation with a major galactic force, one of the late Empress Wyntre's minions. My scouter tells me you're pretty strong, a fair bit stronger than most of our common soldiers, and a bit stronger still than some of the other warriors that the Commander has been taking on in an effort to bolster the strength of the Empire.” Jala stated, it didnt matter much to reveal what Habana was doing even if the Majin ended up not remaining an ally, the rest of the universe expected Saiyans to train hard constantly, few would care much about information that some were being trained harder than others.
“Having someone with the unique capabilities that your species offer could be quite an interesting prospect for the empire. But before I make any decisions I think it would be best for me to take a look at what you can do, if that is fine with you then feel free to make the first move” Jala would complete her walk around Shema returning to her initial position and letting her arms fall to her sides as she awaited some form of response from the Majin, ideally she had made her intention to test Shema via a spar clear enough that she would need no further explanation.

The way that the Captain strode around her was not new to the Majin. Countless times before she had been the subject of another’s interest, her species not exactly common. She stood motionless as Jala spoke, hands clasped lightly behind her back. If she was to be assessed then so be it, if she was to be tested then she would perform to the best of her abilities. All though her hopes had of course been high when she sought out the Saiyan Empire, she had not expected to be accepted with open arms and no questions. A power like the SSE did not gain such strength through carelessness. Thankfully, Jala’s words conveyed she was at least curious about the possibility of recruitment.
”As you wish, Mistress.” There was no agreement between them yet or true reason for Shemha to address the Captain by anything save her name, but the title was used none the less. For the Majin it voiced the respect she held for SSE and its commanders, even if they Empire had not yet allowed her to serve under its banner. She had always been good at following orders and thanks to the infusion of her pervious master’s personality, she was no coward. Jala had asked to see what the female was capable of and she would get what she wanted.
After a moment of inaction, Shemha made her move. As her arms unfolded from behind her back she moved forward, as if a blatant frontal assault was her plan. The unfurling of her arms was only a distraction though, both rising up into a natural stance as her legs bent. With one swift motion she dropped towards the floor as her weight shifted fully to her left foot. Her right leg then swung outward, momentum added to the leg sweep as her body completed its rotation, shin and foot aimed for the Captain’s ankles. The low attack was intended to draw one of two reactions.
While it was clear the Captain was stronger than her, that meant only one thing, Shemha had no reason to hold back. If the blow was to connect and take the woman’s legs out from under her, the Majin’s planted leg would launch her into the air in order to bring her above her opponent. A right hand would then extend to clutch the warriors face so that her head could be driven hard into the floor below. However, if Jala was to react as quickly as anticipated and leap over the sweep, Shemha would launch herself off her left foot in similar fashion, with an upraised fist directed towards Jala’s chin. Either way, the Majin was prepared to press her attack. An invitation had been extended to take the first move, but she did not plan to stop after just one strike.

“Since you are not yet a member of the Empire. Call me Jala.” Jala stated not entirely comfortable with being called 'mistress' “Once or rather if you prove yourself worthwhile then I'll be Captain or Captain Jala during anything official, and just Jala during training or during anything social unless you want to call me Captain.” Jala stated providing Shema with her personal preferences on how she should be referred to, while Habana was not one to care overly much about others calling her by her title Jala was of a different mind, in her view it ensured that those under her commander maintained there knowledge that she did have command over them and as such would more easily follow the orders of there commanding officer rather than simply seeing orders as the requests of a friend.
Habana had as of yet not encountered any real issues in that regard but then again she had not yet had many chances for it to present an issue. Pin was loyal, seemingly to a fault as while he and Habana maintained a very friendly relationship he had a clear understanding of her position and even when he had begun to lose himself in his battle with Brassica it had not taken much for Habana to quell the storm he had become.
Jala watched with interest, waiting for Shema to make her move, the room grew quiet and still, she seemed to be waiting for a desirable moment to make her attack, Jala stood with her arms at her sides entirely open to attack, the difference in power between them was enough that Jala felt reasonably certain she could take anything Shema could throw out, much like her fight with Zoraba she could maintain a position of strength no matter what the Majin did, it gave her a unique chance to see just what she was capable of. Shema was a bit stronger than Zoraba though so that would need accounting for and once Jala started actively fighting back she'd get a chance to see the legendary Majin durability at work.
Without any notice Shema's arms unfolded and she launched herself at Jala, the Saiyaness was surprised with the brazen effort she seemed keen to start a brawl.. but once she drew close it became a bit more clear what her intentions were, a feint of sorts she'd made it 'obvious' that she was coming in for a straight up brawl but instead she struck out with one leg attempting to sweep Jala's legs out from under her.
Leaping over the attack would be easy enough but doing so would almost be like implying that she NEEDED to avoid the attack, it was important for weaker warriors to learn how best to deal with facing an overwhelming opponent, Zoraba had not quite gotten it, he'd done some rather impressive mental gymnastics to get to the concept that he was still not actually the weaker warrior between them. It was a level of personal pride that was spilling over into arrogance. She expected not to have the same issue with Shema, she seemed an ideal contrast to the exuberant Saiyan.
Jala took Shema's kick full on but where the Majin would hope to force her to buckle under the force of the blow instead Jala stood firm only the barest of a twitch at the edge of her lips indicating she'd even felt the blow, Shema's follow up was impressive in it's fluidity there was no hesitation in her motions she simply acted with certainty and efficiency as she sought to grab hold of Jala and drive her into the floor.
The effort however would be hindered by Jala's disinterest in Shema's intended result, the Majin's hand clasped itself around the back of her head but Jala would move swiftly, taking the fight to Shema far earlier than she had to Zoraba by spiking her arm upwards, ideally it would strike the Majin in her chest but the face was not entirely out of question, truthfully Jala had no intended target merely trying to strike the Majin with enough force to drive her away. If she was lucky Shema would have enough time to twist out of the way of the attack, if she could fly it would be substantially easier still.
Jala would make no further attempts to follow up her attack merely allowing Shema to either be struck and recover or to dodge and regroup herself, regardless Jala wanted to see how Shema would take to the failure of her opening gambit.
Once again her thoughts returned to Zoraba, in the hairy Saiyans match against Jala he had not taken his initial failures to harm her well but had actually managed to use his fury resonably well, he focused it into his next attacks well enough to produce reasonably strong results. Jala realized with how much she was comparing Zoraba and Shema already it was likely an ideal choice to bring the two together for some training provided Shema proved herself in this fight, truthfully though it was more likely that Shema would need to prove that she WASN'T a worthwhile candidate, power and a professed interest in becoming a loyal member of the Empire went a long way.

The words Mistress and Master were second nature to the Majin. From a young age she had been using titles constantly up until the untimely death of her former master. Perhaps an adjustment would be needed now that she was dealing with the Saiyan’s and their military institution. Jala for one thought her position as Captain or her name more appropriate. In the end it mattered little to Shemha, she would address someone however they wished to be addressed. Regardless of what title the woman wanted to be called, she was one thing above all else at the moment, a test.
Countless times in her life she had been tested. Of course the majority of those trials had been at the whims of her former master, but that did not change the fact she knew how to handle such situations. Failure was a familiar thing for her. In the past she had come up short on multiple occasions and while her short comings often resulting in a reprimand or a beating, she had learned from them all and in the end she would learn from this experience as well.
From the start her ploy seemed to work well. No hint of movement came from Jala as the Majin dropped low. Her ability to sense the signatures of others made it clear the Captain was stronger than her, but she hoped the momentum of her spin would be enough to take the female’s legs out from under her. When her leg connected with those of the Saiyan warrioress, it was like she had just kicked the most solid tree in the Universe. Shemhe missed the slight twitch of the woman’s lips so from her perspective it appeared as if her opponent hadn’t even felt the kick. Regardless, the red female launched the second part of her attack as she leapt up to grasp the Captain’s face.
That was as far as she got.
Jala reacted with speed Shemha was barely able to comprehend. In the time it took for her hand to clasp the woman’s face, a fist rocketed up towards her chest. Barely able to follow the movement with her eyes there was no chance she might avoid the attack. If Jala had never fought against a Majin before, she might observe the difference when she struck. Unlike a human or comparable race, the girl’s body was a malleable substance. The fist sunk into her chest for a moment before the force transferred fully into her form and launched her into the air. Sent up above her opponent, Shemha rose towards the ceiling before she regained control of her own movement.
As she brought herself to a stop, the expression on her face was one of pain. Durable or not, she was not immune to the hits she took and that had hurt for sure. When no pain followed and the Captain held her ground, Shemha leveled out in the air. Clearly outmatch, she knew victory was not an option or the objective here. With a roll of her shoulders she went back on the offensive.
The direct physical approach had proven all but useless against her stronger foe; perhaps a Ki based assault would be more fruitful. Shemha shifted to the side in the air as she began to descend back to ground level. As she dropped back down, her left hand came forward, palm directed towards he woman before her as if lining her up for her next attack. At the same time her right hand tucked behind the small of her back, fingers concealed as her boots touched down.
After another moment’s hesitation, which was in reality time spent to gather Ki into the tips of the fingers on her right hand, she attacked again. A short distance from her target, Shemha channeled Ki into her extended palm, the sphere of energy only sitting in place for a moment before she fired it towards Jala’s face. Whether the female took the shot full on or ducked aside, the Majin’s follow up was just the same. With a different variation of deception this time, the hand behind her back snapped around to swipe through the air in front of her. The instant her hand was visible so too would be the red glow of her fingertips, nails specifically. Built up Ki released, five arcs of red energy stretched out towards the Saiyaness. Normally each had the power to cut into her foes, but she had never attempted it against such a powerful individual before.
With the effectiveness of her attack in question from the start, she prepared to be defensive as soon as she launched it. The question was, could she even handle the speed at which Jala might counter attack?

Jala tilted her head upwards as she felt her fist make impact with Shema, as expected the blow had felt... odd, most creatures even with such a distinct difference in power when struck innately had a bit of resistance to the blow, muscles instinctively flexing to moderate the amount of damage inflicted on them. But Shema had none of that, it was like punching rubber and much like how it felt Shema's form reacted much like warm rubber being struck as the area of impact seemed to cave in on itself briefly as Shema was sent skyward.
Idly Jala wondered how that sort of thing actually effected a Majin, she was aware that they actually could feel pain even if it took substantially more effort on the part of the one attempting to inflict that pain. She was certain she'd likely struck hard enough to cause some pain even if the red rubbery creature was doing an impressive job of keeping her expression neutral.
She seemed to regain herself a few moments before she would have slammed into the ceiling halting suddenly, how would she react next? Jala had made it strikingly clear that getting too close would likely not be in Shema's best interests, and with a smirk Jala noted Jala aiming her hand at her a clear sign that she was prepping an energy attack of some sort, she was also growing closer and closer.
Once Shema was as close as she was likely comfortable getting she unleashed a powerful energy attack in Jala's direction, much like her physical attacks Jala was keenly aware that it would pose little to no risk, she needn't even activate her scouter to tell her that much and it was because she had not activated her scouter that Shema would be able to gain some small advantage in her coming attack pattern, Jala was after all incapable of sensing energy in the same way her daughter was, the easy access to scouters had meant that Jala could focus her training elsewhere and so she had never bothered with that skill, Habana of course possesed a clear natural talent for it, a talent passed down not from Jala, but from her father.
Shitfint her stance slightly Jala prepared for that incoming attack, once the initial blast was close enough Jala would send a weak pulse of energy through her hand, the energy expanded outward connecting with the opposing blast and with a shove Jala pushed the blast off to one side causing her weaker blast and Shema's attack to explode against a far wall, smirking she returned her attention to the Majin.
Only to find another set of energy attacks aimed her way, already tearing through the air as they extended from Shema's nails. “Clever girl..” Jala muttered as the five blasts slammed into her the first irrelevant, the second annoying, the third frustrating, and the fourth and fifth just a bit painful as they caused her to stumble back slightly. The blasts would crack and vaporize some of her armor and cause a large cloud to form around Jala. Perhaps just briefly Shema would believe she had actually won, or perhaps more worryingly that she had actually killed Jala.
But then the cloud would explode as Jala rushed forward already vaguely aware of where Shema had been prior to the attack she would dash right at her, her aim was to drive a knee directly into Shema's midsection to once again send her flying, as Jala grew closer she would, perhaps to some relief note that Jala's expression was not angry in the slightest, in fact quite the opposite, the Captain was grinning.

Five red arcs of energy cut their way through the air in a race to reach Jala before she noticed what Shemha had attempted to pull off. It worked perfectly, at least in this setting when her opponent allowed her the initiative in each engagement. As expected the Captain deflected the first blast with relative ease, her energy more than enough to swat the small sphere of energy aside. With the speed of her follow up attack, the second of distraction was all she needed.
The first line of red hit the other female and then the second, all the way up to the fifth. Each landed in quick succession to the arc before it. From her position a short distance away Shemhe heard each one. Dust choked the air around Jala as a result of her attack which did leave the Majin to wonder if all five had actually connected with the Captain or if they had been diverted into the floor. Soon enough she got her answer.
Jala erupted from swirling cloud of dust with a forward charge that was to be expected from a Saiyan warrior. There was a small victory in the gouges and cuts along the Captain’s armor, yet Shemha doubted any of her attacks had actually connected with skin. Even if they had, the rate at which the woman came forward meant any cuts would have been superficial at best. In terms of speed, there was hardly a comparison between the two. By the time she had closed the distance, the Majin had only been able to take half a step back.
Like with Jala’s strike to the chest earlier, there was little Shemha could do to soften the knee that found her exposed stomach. Force transferred to her body with such speed that she literally bent in half around the Captain’s knee, her rubbery body more flexible than most. Suspended in motion for a fraction of a second she was then shot upwards towards the roof. Unlike before she was not able to stop her momentum as she slammed hard into the ceiling of the barracks. Concrete cracked as she hit, dust and small chunks of the material then fell to the floor with her as she hit the tiles hard.
”Uhhhhgggg….” An audible groan let Jala know that despite the Majin’s durable body, she had indeed felt the blow through and through. One could say the same about Jala’s first attack, but that had been the initial blow of the “battle” and adrenaline had been high, the girl truly at one hundred percent. Now…not so much. Still, she shifted on the ground. Her hands slid across the tile to try and find purchase so that she might shove back to her feet. Weak or not, Shemha knew what determination was.
There wasn’t much left in her tank, for it was hard to keep up ones stamina when your opponent hit harder than the asteroids that peppered the wastelands of New Vegeta. To Jala it was likely evident that Shemha was near her limit. However, there was one small trick she had yet to attempt. This was a test to see if she was worthy of Solar Saiyan Empire and if she was Jala would be her ally. For those reasons there was no need to hide anything, best to lay it all on the table and hope the woman was satisfied with what she saw. With any luck, the grin that preceded the harsh blow to her stomach meant things were going well.
Relatively close to the Captain after her trip back down from the ceiling, Shemha was not yet back on her feet. In fact, she had taken a bit more time than she really needed. A full recovery would not come without some time to rest so the Majin figured she best use her downed position to her advantage. The red female’s magical origins granted her durability beyond that of a normal creation and those same origins allowed her to pull on deep reserves when desired.
Her first strike, the attempted leg sweep had done nothing and Jala was just as aware as Shemha was of their power difference her. Thus far the Saiyaness had allowed strikes to land simply to test out the potential recruit and hopefully she would do the same one more time. Hands already on the ground, Shemha launches upward. Aided by her ability to fly, she shot up from the floor as she pivoted to bring her knee up under the Captain’s chin. Her hidden potential released as she rose so that the rising knee would drive into Jala’s chin with double the strength of Shemha’s previous attacks. That combined with potentially catching the woman off guard, might allow her to actual cause some minimal damage. Then again, there was the possibility that Jala anticipated the move and Shemha might very well be on her way to visit the ceiling once more.
Either way, Shemha would be left breathing heavy as she exerted herself to fullest.

Jala could not help but smirk just a little bit wider as this time Shemha was incapable of yielding herself and was sent rocketing through the air and into the ceiling the force of the impact causing the room to shudder slightly as even the reinforced strength of the training facility had trouble holding up against the power of someone such as Shemha impacting it via the force of a blow from someone such as Jala. It was probably ideal that it was Jala that Shemha’s request had been received by and not Habana herself. Her daughter would have taken it up just the same but the power Habana possessed would be far more catastrophic to the structural integrity of the building.
Jala had to wonder if Shemha was actually going to recollect herself and continue the battle as she began plummeting to the ground, she had expected that the Majin would have recovered by now but as she drew closer Jala grew less certain right up until Shemha was about to hit the floor and her body sprung into action, it brought an amused grin to her face as she watched the Majin work her body twisting and shifting in the air until she had herself in the perfect position to attempt to drive a knee into Jala’s jaw.
What Jala was unable to know was that while she had taken some hard strikes from Shemha before enough to cause the sensation of pain if not enough to cause a reaction or to produce a physical indication that she had been harmed. But this attack when it connected as Jala remained unworried about Shema’s potential to harm her was FAR stronger causing her to stagger a step back.
Just outside the room Jala and Shemha were using another figure watched on, she knew Jala’s schedual for the day fairly well as for the most part it lined up with her own, Jala had not specifically mentioned the nature of whom she was testing out as a candidate for the Empire but the fact that Jala had taken interest enough to not pass the job on to someone else had piqued her interest.
The majin was strong and skilled and had just managed to genuinely catch the Captain off guard, a warrior nearly a tenth the strength of Jala caused her to stagger back and from the look of it very nearly let out a grunt of pain. She was glad that her mother had taken an interest in the Majin, as potentially volatile as they might be Shemha seemed distinctly more controlled and reasonably minded.
“That… was impressive” Jala said raising a hand to her jaw to rub the area that Shemha had struck. “I think I’ve seen all that needs seeing, continuing on from here won’t provide anything more of use. If you want a position in the Empire it’s yours. I’ll do the work of registering you myself so I know none of the others screw it up. You are exactly the sort of warrior Habana is looking for”

When her knee connected with the Captain’s chin, Shemha was able to feel the woman shift. All things considered, it was another victory, albeit a small one. From the very start the Majin had known she stood no chance of besting the veteran warrior. Her knowledge of combat and her ability to adapt on the fly was all she could showcase since she lacked true power when compared to Jala. In the back of her mind she knew this was her sole ticket into the SSE.
As Shemha dropped to one knee after her super powered strike, Jala’s words caused her to look up. Her initial reaction was to smile, ecstatic that she had been accepted into the Empire. Since she had “earned” her freedom from her former master, she had stuck to what she knew. This venture was the first real choice she had made in life that was of her own free will and the first thing to take her from the mercenary life she had known. She would be working for another still, but for a far greater purpose than monetary gains. Despite her excitement, she kept her poise and controlled herself.
”Thank you, Captain. I will not disappoint you or Commander Habana.
She felt as if there she should say more, but no words formed. From what she had seen thus far the Captain was a forward and blunt woman. To grovel or thank her gratuitously seemed out of place. Simple was better with most warriors, actions often spoke louder than words. Apparently Shemha’s actions had said enough.
Able to sense Ki signatures to a point, the Majin was unaware of the spectator the two had gained during their little exchange. Her attention had been on the woman smacking her around the room, all her focus needed to barely hold her own. The strikes she took hurt, her heaving chest a definite sign that she had been pushed close to her limit. Despite that, the new SSE recruit wished to see what the woman was truly capable of when not holding back. On top of that, she wanted to see what Habana and Zucceta could do. Ront had been a strong man, but even Jala would have made him look like your common thug. The capabilities of those above her station must have been incredible.

“I have a few other matters to deal with shortly so I’ll leave you to your own devices for today, I should have you’re registration put through before the end of today, report to the palace tomorrow give them your name and request myself or Habana specifically. It’s unlikely that you will have any specific orders for a little while outside of general training.” Jala stated rolling her shoulders, despite dominating the fight Shemha had actually done well to give her a bit of a workout, the last move as well doing a good job of reminding Jala that even with opponents of low power it was best to not let down her guard so readily.
“If all goes to plan I’ll probably be setting up a training session between you and another prospective warrior by the name Zoraba, he’s a bit… exuberant and his pride pushes into arrogance a bit more than I like so with any luck you’ll do well to level him out a bit since the two of you are in a roughly similar power range” Jala said smirking slightly at the thought of Zoraba. “He’s not inclined to believe himself below anyone in terms of power, I believe he trained on a world with a lower than saiyan average power scale, between the two of us, you’ve got an edge in power on him, with any luck a few losses will realign his ego, get him focused on becoming better rather than believing he’s already the best.” Jala stated not outright stating that she believed Shemha would take the win in the fight but offering the idea that she believed it both likely and to be the best outcome.
“I’ll see you tomorrow” Jala said with a nod and provided that Shemha had nothing more that required her to stick around Jala would begin making her way out of the facility stopping briefly to inform the saiyans watching over the facility that Shemha was now apart of the Empire and thus the facility was open to her at all times.
Habana smirked as she watched her mother speaking with Shemha, she could make out roughly what she’d been saying in spite of the distance, they could expect Shemha to pop in over at the palace at some point tomorrow and Jala already had some plans for where to take her training, all good, now though that Jala was off to take care of her other work she could have a bit of fun. Stepping out from where she had been standing to avoid Jala noticing her when she departed Habana stepped into the doorway to the training room Shemha and Jala had been using.
“That was a pretty good fight, most don’t last that long against the Captain, don’t think I’ve seen you around before though, you new?” Habana inquired leaning against the door frame, she’d swiped a scouter from one of the other’s in the facility and with a bit of work managed to use it to mostly disguise the glow around her left eye, it took a lot of her concentration to actively affect the glow in any meaningful way but as she was relaxed it would simply serve to accentuate the purple glass of the scouter.

Internally she beamed, but externally she was as stoic as ever. The girlish side of Shemha, which did exist, would have liked nothing more than to smile and clap her hands in excitement. That part of her, however; had been restrained for years now. Regardless of her display, she was pleased her initial goal had been accomplished. To be welcomed into the SSE was the sole reason she had come to New Vegeta. Her life now held a greater purpose, like it had when Ront still drew breath. It seemed Jala herself would make sure the paperwork and documentation was pushed through quickly. The Majin should have expected the Saiyans to be efficient.
As for her first assignment, she could not have been more pleased. Although her goal had been to be accepted, she now wished to fulfill the promise she had made. Service was her purpose and based on what she had just witness of Jala’s strength, she was far from a valuable asset. The Universe had countless beings of power and through her intuition alone, the Majin knew she was in a place that was far inferior to any that would truly threaten the Empire. Training and growing in power needed to be her new objective. Jala apparently felt the same. For all the captain said, she would receive a simple response.
”Yes, Captain.”Without question, Shemha would arrive in the morning and train with this Zoraba.
Already she began to contemplate the potential strength of the warrior, multiple scenarios accessed in her head. Lost in thought for a moment, she failed to notice the newest presence until the woman spoke.
Her attention shifted to the woman as Shemha first noted her strange attire. It wasn't anything too out of the ordinary, just not what she had seen the majority of the individuals around the barracks wearing. The scouter and casual attitude led the Majin to believe the woman was of the military. Not to mention she referred to Jala as “the captain.” Even if she was unable to read signatures accurately, it was not hard to see the woman was stronger than her, a pattern that already began to form. Mostly friendly and even more so since she now had a new home, the Majin’s booted feet closed the short distance between them so Shemha did not need to raise her voice.
”Why thank you, although I feel you are giving me far to much credit and I am brand new to be exact. Shemha, at your service.” Old habits died hard so a bow would accompany the introduction. Arms out to the side as she dipped, the tentacle that was the Majin’s hair bobbed forward slightly before she straightened. Now a member of the Solar Saiyan Empire, she did believe her words. After all, she was in the service of anyone ranked higher than herself.
”May I ask your name in return?” She always preferred to be polite and it was in her best interest to get to know others. This Zoraba she was to train with was only one member of the SSE. One never knew when they might be assigned to work alongside another, so it was best to treat all with respect.
