Hell, this place was sickening. There wasn't much a fighter could do. The only option was to train and that was starting to lose it's spark. There wasn't any competive fighters around, there wasn't anybody decent to socialize with. It was boring. Honestly, if this place wasn't called hell Athren would've been calling it that anyway. He wished he would've been back home on Earth where a little apartment in West Capital awaited his return. Of course, he wouldn't have known that it's previous residence had since moved out due to the invasion of the capital. Kaiyo, Anzu and Sprocket were long gone. This was probably for the best though and maybe it was for the best that he was gone. He did seem to attract too much attention. Last thing the young saiyan warrior wanted was for them to get caught up in his problems, he couldn't live with himself if any of them had gotten hurt. Regardless, these were stupid thoughts. He was dead, he couldn't control what happened to them, he couldn't intervene if any threats had presented themselves. Hey, they could've even found themselves in other world. At this point Athren just didn't know.
This would've been one of the first day's that Athren didn't do much of anything. He found a single tree in the middle of nowhere and sat himself down on one of the highest branches. His back leaning against the massive and thick trunk of the tree. His thoughts running wild about everything and everyone back on Earth. The few who he trusted and the many he didn't. Seriously, he still couldn't get over how nobody backed him up in the West Capital invasion, he felt like he died for nothing. If earthlings didn't care about that city why did he? He gave his life over a damn girl, funny. A saiyan warrior brought to death because of emotions towards a human female? If he was back on Vegeta he probably wouldn't live that down. Guess it didn't matter now though, he was dead and he didn't think that'd ever change. Obviously nobody gathered the dragon balls to resurrect him because he was still in hell. Did he really mean that little to everybody? Ah, whatever it was. Athren couldn't let it get to him. If it did it'd eat him up and destroy him from the inside out. He couldn't think that way. All he could do was sit around and train to keep himself busy and try to become the best he could. "Stupid earthlings" He mumbled quietly from his perch. His two hands rested against the tree and behind his head for comfort. "Who would've guessed, the first super saiyan in years to die so quickly. All for a girl yet. Pathetic, really." Though he said it, he didn't really believe it. He was just trying to keep himself occupied. His feelings for the woman were real, he just wish he would've had closure. Whether she escaped or not. Whether she lived, what happened to her. Closure would've been nice.
Since he wasn't getting closure and figured he never would Athren attempted to distract himself with another topic. The topic of those who abandoned him. "It's even harder to believe that nobody else got involved in that fight. Nobody pushed to take out the big guys. Ninjin or her little sidekick. Toma didn't show up, Scargot. Nobody. It doesn't really make sense. It's stupid." Athren closed his eyes and sighed lightly. He couldn't believe how he was left alone to die, the ones who called themselves fighters didn't even make an effort to help him out. It was a pathetic display, but Athren couldn't change it. "Ah, If I had another chance and found myself in that same situation.. I'd probably do it all over again.. Th--.." It was in that moment where a voice shouted up to the young saiyan. It was a familair voice, one that he had heard in hell before.
"Another chance? Well Saiyan, If you're a gambling man. I just might be able to provide that for you." Said a dark, robed figure. Red eyes had shined through a hood. When Athren opened his eyes and glanced down that's all he could see on that one. His eyes moved to the left and saw another figure. This one was tall and red, muscular. It looked like he was quite a capable fighter.
Athren arched a brow curiously and couldn't help but shift himself off the branch to fall towards the ground. In seconds he had both his feet planted upon the ground. "Another chance? You're saying you can give that to me? Put me back in the living world?"
It would've sounded like a far fetched idea if Athren had heard this from day one, but he had been in hell for so long anything that sounded like a way out sounded like pure gold to him. If he didn't ask, maybe he'd never know. It was worth a shot, so he thought anyway.
If the figure's face was visible, Athren would've seen the devilish smirk. "Well saiyan, I can return you to the living world. Though, You've got to be a gambling man." This figure couldn't answer the question without leaving Athren in a position for another question. The demon knew what he wanted from Athren and this was his plan all along. He had fought Athren before in the past and wanted his skillset at his side for his own personal gains. He now had just what he needed to lure the saiyan in, he just needed to make a wager that Athren couldn't afford to disagree too. When Athren said yes, he'd insure Athren couldn't win the bet and claim his will power for himself, making Athren a slave to do his bidding.
Athren arched his brow curiously again. His mouth opened as he spoke eagerly. "A Gambling man? Alright, what's the catch then?" He asked this question quickly. He didn't want to wait any longer. He wanted answers now, and if he had his chance to get out. He was damn well going to take it.
"Simple, Friend." The demon paused his speech for a moment to build suspense. He needed to insure he had the saiyan hooked on this subject. "If you beat my friend here, I'll grant you life and send you straight back to Earth." As he said this he pointed over to his friend.
Athren looked over to the tall, large, red figure. "And what's the catch?" Athren asked quickly once more. It seemed easy enough, he had super saiyan after all. He couldn't lose here in hell, could he? not with that kind of power.
"The catch is. If you lose, I get to claim your mind, will, body, and spirit and you will serve me as my slave for the rest of eternity. Is that fair to you?" His intentions with winning Athren were completely evil. He would've used Athren to kill thousands and make himself the king of the universe. Of course, he didn't realize that there were much stronger figures out in the universe so his plan wouldn't have worked anyway. Of course, that wasn't the point right now.
Athren smirked slightly, there was a shine of confidence in his face. He didn't believe he was going to lose, he had a real reason to fight for. He wasn't going to go down. This was his ticket out. The risk was worth the reward, and if this guy was full of shit.. at least he tried. He couldn't say no, if this was real. His chance at living again was right there. It was one victory away. "You've got a deal." With that being said Athren didn't want to waste anymore time.
He took one large leap back, his hair ruffled in the breeze. His feet his the ground and he went into a short slide. Once he stopped he took a fighting stance. His eyes staring down the two. His heavy weighted training gear equipped and his scouter was on, though it was turned off. At the moment though, there wasn't a use for it. He didn't want it to get broken. Quickly his hand come up and he removed it. "Catch." He said as he tossed it towards the deal maker.
Quickly, the figure caught it. "Alright, Good. Daca. Don't let this saiyan win. I want him to do my bidding." He said before lifting off to stand upon the branch that was once Athren's perch.
For the first time, the one known as Daca had spoken. "Yes, Master." That was it though. His face was emotionless. His eyes were cold. He simply began to walk towards Athren slowly. He wasn't eager, wasn't excited. Wasn't in any kind of rush. Athren didn't ever see a fighter like that, so cold, careless. Didn't he have any fear that he might lose? was there something Athren didn't know? Regardless, Athren figured he'd find out pretty damn soon.
As the demon walked towards Athren he could feel his heart beating hard. He couldn't help but be excited. This was going to be a real fight, for a real purpose. One that might actually push his limits! He'd get to find out soon, hell. He'd get to find out now. He wasn't going to wait around any longer. He was going to charge in and give this demon everything he had. He didn't want to wait! Earth was possibly this last fight away!
With his aura flared around him Athren darted forward towards his opponent, his right fist cocked back and ready to land a devestating hit onto the large red foe.
When Athren reached his target he launched it towards the demon's face. Much to Athren's surprise the demon simply moved his head to the side and avoided the hit completely.
He didn't even go for a counter attack, he simply stood still and moved his head.
Quickly Athren drew his fist back, this time he launched his left fist. Yet, it had the exact same result that his right one did. The fighter moved his head slightly and Athren missed.
The hell? He still didn't even counter attack! ~ Alright, you can dodge those.. Let's see you dodge this~ Athren though to himself as he began a fierce barrage of punches and kicks. Aimed all over the large creatures body. After about a minute of the barrage Athren still didn't land a single hit to where he wanted. The demon managed to dodge or block every single thing Athren had thrown at him. Athren gave up with his barrage, he took a solid leap back and fired a double handed ki blast towards the demon. It was aimed directly at his chest.
By the time it collided Athren had landed on the ground and slid backwards, both of his hands were still out directly in front of him in the position they were when he fired the blast.
Once more the demon didn't even move, the blast collided with his chest.
When it collided it caused a minor explosion that caused dust to roll up off the ground and into the air. It was thick and difficult to see through, to the point where Athren could only make out the black shadow of the large figure that stood just beyond the mist of dirt.
It didn't make sense, he didn't make any effort to dodge that either? The hell was going on?
It was in that moment that the demon decided he wanted to counter attack. He used the dust as his cover. He launched out, dust flying off his body. He reached Athren in an instant. The young saiyan didn't have any chance to react, by time he figured out what he was going to do the large bicept of the demon collided with his heavy weighted gear. He got clothes lined, completely sweeped off his feet and sent flying backwards in rotation. Athren was going to catch himself with his ki but he didn't even have time to do that. His back had slammed against something solid. He went to turn around but he didn't have enough time, he was in a situation that he didn't expect. The demon's two arms wrapped around him in a tight bear hug and kept him off the ground. They started to squeeze Athren quite tightly. Daca wanted to break Athren's bone and make him suffer. Make him realize that he was in over his head.
With the pressure compressing his body Athren couldn't help but let out a painful scream. How'd he get himself into this mess? His base form wasn't enough to take on a single demon and in terms of speed he found himself completely outclassed? Well, luckily for Athren he had a trump card. He'd for sure use his super saiyan form the second he got out of this painful situation. It was a damn shame he didn't master the transformation yet, right now would've been a great time to simply blink into it and power house his way out of the death grip that he was locked into. Luckily, Athren had the perfect idea to get out. It wasn't the most advanced move but it would've been more than enough to break this damn demon's grip.
"I'm not going out that easy!" Athren yelled out as he unleashed his energy barrier technique. Usually he liked to use it from the hands and only use it in a defensive fashion but in this case he really didn't have a choice. He used it and emitted it from his whole body. The demon couldn't hold on and got blasted back from the attack.
Quickly, Athren turned around and attempted to pursuit the demon. He reached him and brought both fists above his head, he interlocked his fingers and was about to bring it down to smash the demon into the ground, unfortunately for the young saiyan the demon was much quicker than Athren was. Before Athren could connect his hit he got a solid kick to the face. He would've got launched quite a distance but the demon's large red hand gripped Athren's ankle. With high momentum Athren felt himself being swung around high and then low. His body collided with the hard ground. "Grr." Athren grumbled lightly, he felt almost helpless. He couldn't do a damn thing. He got lifted up, his eyes staring down his red opponent. Things weren't looking overly good at the moment. Maybe he should remove his weights when he gets the chance, or just go super? Skip the play and get to the win. At this point, that would've been the safest bet. This was his one chance out after all. He might as well go for broke.
With his eyes on the red demon, Athren noticed it's hand lift up and aim a blast right for Athren's face. "OH shit!" Athren yelled as he brought both his arms up and crossed them in front of his face. He managed to do this just in time too. The blast hit his arms and the demon released his ankle. The blast send the young saiyan flying backwards, up until he hit the dirt and went into a skid. His jumpsuit burnt and scortched with a couple of tears in it. His skin taking noticable damage.
Daca began to walk to Athren slowly once more. He wasn't in any kind of a rush.
"Alright, Enough playing around. I want to go home. I want to get out of here." Athren mumbled as he pushed himself to his feet. He clenched both his fists as he stood proudly. "You aren't going to stop me. I won't lose!" With that being said Athren's orange aura flared up around his body as his power level began to increase. He wasn't going to take this anymore, he was going to win. He wasn't going to hold back and get beat while his base form failed him. He was going to push himself to his limits. He refused to lose this fight, he wasn't going to become a slave to some demon figure, he wasn't going to go down. His teeth began to grind as his power level began to go even higher. Currently, the red demon he was fighting was nearing Athren's location. Athren didn't understand why he was taking his sweet time to get there but It worked out for him, that gave him plenty of time to transform into his super saiyan state. Since Athren didn't have it mastered yet he still struggled to change into that form, it wasn't overly long like it used to be but it still wasn't instant. This had a massive disadvantage when using it in combat. If he needed it, he'd need to insure he had enough time to transform without getting pummeled. Luckily, the idiot that he was fighting was taking his sweet time.
Suddenly, Daca decided to lunge forward at Athren. His hand reached out to it's full extent. His hand opened with his fingers out ready to grip the young saiyan warriors head. The sad thing was, his hand was more than large enough to palm Athren's skull. Athren wasn't going to let that happen though, in an explosion of power Athren's hair spiked up and turned golden. His aura flared golden as well. His eyebrows gold, and his ocean blue eyes converted over to turqoise. He was now in his super saiyan form. If this wasn't enough Athren was going to remove his heavy training gear. That would give him an addition boost in power if he really needed it. Though, he was about to find out if it was going to come to that and he didn't think that it would.
Now that he was in his super saiyan state he was ready to make his offensive domination. He wasn't going to let himself lose ground like he did all so quickly in his base form. No, he was going to walk all over this damn guy and drop him like a tonne of bricks. He wasn't going to show any remorse, he wasn't going to slow down until the other fighter was incapabile of fighting. Quickly Athren's head titled to the right, this allowed for his opponents grapple to completely miss. In that instant Athren brought his right hand up to meet his opponents stomach. It stopped him right there, the large red fighter hunched over and coughed up blood. It splattered all over Athren's torso. It was in this moment that Athren new that victory was at hand. It wouldn't take long now. A couple more good hits and it should be over and done with. Athren quickly drew back his fist and returned it to his side. He then brought his right foot up and connected it with Daca's face. This sent the large demon brute flying over to Athren's left in a hurry. He sped across the landscape until his body came into contact with the ground. From there he hop, skipped and jumped until he came to a solid slide and stopped.
It was in this moment that Athren's right fist began to glow with an orange aura. He was determined that he was going to finish this fight right here and right now. If he had the power too he might as well, then he wouldn't risk being a slave. It seemed smart. Though to be honest Athren would've loved to drag this fight on for a little while, it wasn't every day that he got to fight somebody like this. Somebody who actually pushed him to his super saiyan limits. It was a nice change, but it needed to end. Daca had gotten up, he began to charge his own energy. Athren didn't know what he had planned but he wasn't going to allow him to get an upper hand with a transformation or an attack. Decided to end it right now Athren launched himself towards his opponent, his right fist cocked back and ready to land one final blow to end the fight. Closing the gap between them Athren launched his right fist foward. His Nova Strike technique hitting it's mark. It was right on the nose of the large red brute. The large brute toppled over, he wasn't dead but he was knocked out cold.
Quickly Athren looked over to the leader of the two in the branch. The one who made the offer. "Alright, It appears I won. Now what?" Athren asked quickly. He no longer wanted to wait. He wanted out of this place once and for all.
The dark robed figure now leaped down from the tree and slowly lowered himself to the ground in front of the young saiyan warrior. "That didn't go as I expected." he paused a moment as his disappointment sunk in a little bit. "Since i'm quite the gambler, I will keep my word. You win, fair and square saiyan. Therefore I will grant you with life and grant you an escape." With that being said the robed figure lifted both of his hands. His right hand was aimed towards Daca, the downed demon fighter that Athren had defeated, his left hand tossed Athren his scounter before facing it towards the saiyan. Since Daca had been a mindless slave Drugo had complete control over his life. Daca had made a similar deal with Drugo quite some time ago, he wasn't deceased. He still had a life. Though he wasn't going to for much longer. Since Drugo owned Daca he could do what he pleased. Daca didn't have a say in the matter. For his failure he would be thrown aside and have his life removed. In this case, he'd have it transferred over to Athren. It didn't take very long before Daca's life was taken away from him and transferred over to Athren. In fact it took a few seconds at the most. "There, Now you're once again among the living." His right hand now shifted over beside Athren andd he opened up a portal. The grasslands of Earth could be seen through it.
Athren equipped his scouter and smiled brightly. "Alright then, Pleasure doing business with you." With that being said Athren didn't hesitate at all. He quickly jumped through the portal ..
He was back home, back on Earth. . .
About damn time too.
