Porsallyne quickly strode through the corridors of Site A, worry clear on her face. Shortly after the battle, soldiers of the BBA had come to pick up her and Charlene from the safe house Cipher had left them, bringing them back to Site A. She knew he was in the complex, the connection the two shared allowed her to feel his presence nearby. It had also allowed her to feel the unbelievable pain Cipher had experienced during the battle, and ever since then had been worrying herself sick. Meanwhile, Charlene was trying to keep up with her, as well as keeping personnel from her mother's path. "Make way, make way. Nothing to see here. Worried woman coming through!" The effort wasn't really neccassary. People were already moving aside, worried of what Porsalynne might do if someone barred her path.
It didn't take her long to find what she was looking for. Without a moment's hesitation, the woman burst into the sickbay, her eyes immediately falling on the pale man sitting on one of the nearby beds.
Cipher sat on the bed, his torn up coat laying nearby. For the most part, he looked alright, except for the bandages wrapped around his torso, covering the stub where the android's right arm once was. Porsalynne's artificial heart stopped for a second when her eyes fell on the android's missing limb. "Cipher!" she cried out, running over to him and pulling him into a tight hug. Cipher let out a sharp hiss between clenched teeth as she accidently put pressure on the wound. The female android jumped back. "I'm sorry!" Cipher gave her a comforting smile. "It's ok. It looks worse than what it is." Charlene cocked her head to the side. "You're missing an arm Dad. I'm pretty sure it's as bad as it looks." Porsallyne spun around, giving her daughter a scornful look,, but Cipher just laughed. "True. But as an android, I can always get the damage repaired, get myself a new arm."
"You may have to wait on that." All three looked towards the door to see Dr. Slouch, the BBA's top scientist. Porsalynne sent the man a sharp glare. "And why not? You were able to completely reconstruct Vipoi in a week. How long can it take to reconstruct an arm?" Cipher put his hand on her arm to calm her as Slouch cleared his throat. "It's not so much the inability to do so. After witnessing the events recorded during the invasion, some of us have been coming up with some, well ideas for your next upgrade." Cipher tilted his head to the side quizically, "And granting me a new arm would prove problematic?" "Not so much that as would prove redundant after your upgrade." Cipher could only nod, though he was quite curious. "Very well. After all, I did prove that I could handle threats with only one arm."
Dr Slouch nodded and turned to leave. Meanwhile, Charlene's imagination was going into overdrive. "Maybe he's going to give you an arm cannon! Or an arm with a sword attached. Or an arm cannon that shoots swords! That explode! That would be awesome!" Cipher chuckled, sending a glance to Porsalynne before looking back to Charlene. "Charlene, would you mind giving me and your mother a moment?" Charlene blinked, but nodded before quietly leaving the room. Porsalynne looked at Cipher curiously. "What is it Cipher?" Cipher smiled, looking up at her with loving eyes. "Porsalynne, there's something I want to ask you..."
Charlene calmly stood out in the hallway, messing with her fingernails and wondering just what the heck her parents were talking about in there. It didn't seem like anything bad, her father seemed like in a pretty good mood.
Suddenly, there was a loud squeal, followed by much laughing. Charlene couldn't make out what was being said, when suddenly Porsalynne burst out the door, the biggest smile on her face. "This is the happiest day of my life!" she cheered out happily, pulling Charlene into a tight hug, "There's so much to do!" Releasing her, she dashed off down the hall, laughing happily. Charlene blinked and looked back through the open door at her father, who was getting up and walking towards her. "Erm, mind telling me just what happened in there?" Cipher smiled. "Let's just say our family's going to become a lot more, well, official." Charlene blinked in confusion before noticing something on Cipher's left hand. A ring.
A big smile spread across Charlene's face as she hugged her father. "Way to go dad! I was wondering when you were going to ask her!" Cipher chuckled, patting his daughter on the head. "I had been planning for some time now. Now's just the only time I've been able to do so." Charlene chuckled and smiled. "Dad, can I ask you a favour?" "Sure. What is it?" "If I get made the flower girl, don't let mom put me in a dress." Cipher chuckled. "I'll see what I can do." "And can I plan your bachelor party?" "No."
