It had been another casual day in hell. Athren had once again found himself training alone where the darkness surrounded a dimly lit platue. It was quite bland but a very suitable area for a training session. Today, Athren had picked out a specific technique that he wanted to learn. This was a basic and very straight forward technique. He had intended to infuse his ki into his physical attacks to deliver much more of a damaging strike. The concept came to Athren through his anger. He pictured himself striking down the one who killed him with a powerful punch that set off a planet shaking explosion. That would've been the ultimate goal in the end but for now the young saiyan warrior had to focus on a step by step process.
Step one would've been simple. It was just to get comfortable with unfusing his fist with energy. From there, he intended to put it into all limbs. Once he was fully comfortable with that he'd begin his attempts at making a large explosion on impact of a strike. Once that was done, he'd then fully learn how to set off the explosion at will instead of it happening on every single hit.
At this very moment in time Athren had been standing quite still, his heavy weighted training gear was equipped and his face was covered by a confident smirk. He knew this wouldn't take much to pull off. A light breeze ruffled his midnight black hair. His breathing was calm and steady. His posture firm and tall. His ocean blue eyes shined brightly as they scanned the landscape that had surrounded him. Exhaling deeply once more, Athren put his mind to the object and began to do what was needed to be done.
Taking his time Athren began to charge his energy into his right fist. As he did so he clenched it tightly. Over a very short period of time Athren's fist began to glow with his signature orange ki. In all honest this stage didn't take much effort, it was such a basic thing and given Athren's previous experience with Ki. Ever since he was a small child he was exposed to various martial arts trainings and self defense trainings. This included various Ki training sessions. It was almost a second nature at this point, something effortless and simple. Though, detonating an actual explosion might be something of a challenge as he hadn't pulled that off before. That part was new to him. Regardless, Now that Athren had his fist infused with his ki it was time to move onto the next step. The next step was move his ki to his other limbs to make them just as combat effective. Once again Athren believed it'd be a fairly easy step considering there wasn't going to be a huge explosion by the end of it.
The next step would be exactly like the first but he'd just have to focus on other body parts.
Now, it was time to get to that next step.

Quickly Athren removed his energy from his fist and took another deep breath. His motivation keeping his mind like the edge of a knife. Stern and determined Athren moved onto his next goal. The step by step progress had worked so far and he intended to keep it easy and steady. Today wasn't a day to build his strength, it was a day to add techniques to his roster. If he could have a hard, steady, reliable roster of techniques he'd have a higher probability of winning his fights. With a vast roster of techniques and his skill set aiding him in battle he would be confident that he'd be fine. Especially with his new plans, Athren was stretching out to give himself options. He was breaking his comfort zone and coming up with unique techniques for all situations instead of a straight forward brawl. In the past he was all about having a fair fight but given the way he died, that didn't exist. He needed to be prepared for uneven odds and being the absolute best he could be for the people that needed him, the people that he intended on protecting. He might've been their only hope, he couldn't fail them. Though it might've sounded silly to most saiyans that one of their own would give their own lives to protect the weak, Athren was different. His death had caused a lot of thoughts and even a motivation to follow through with those thoughts.
Getting back to his technique Athren began to focus his energy into his left fist this time. It didn't take too long and it was effecient. Once that had been completed Athren began to transfer that energy into his right foot. Once again it didn't take very long. His right foot began to glow with his orange aura. It was indicating that he could pull off a strong kick and really deliver a painful blow to his opponent. After a few short moments Athren transferred all of that energy to his left foot. Again, the time it took was little. The young saiyan now continued to bounce his energy back and fourth for a while. He let his body and his mind get used to it. It hadn't been very much to get used too but the more he did it the more comfortable he would be using it in battle. So far, it was almost instant. He was pulling it off quickly and easily.
Finally taking a break from it, Athren believed it was now time to move on and cause an explosion upon contact when he wanted too. That was his next step and that was his ultimate goal. Things were going quite good for him today, a little bit more time and effort put into this and he'll be right where he wanted it too. The difficult part was about to happen. Setting off the detonation wouldn't be something simple as he'd never done anything like it before, but he was damn sure he'd pull it off. He was too stubborn to quit and too stubborn to ever admit defeat. There was nothing that Athren couldn't overcome. He was the best in his books, maybe it wouldn't be for his strength but his heart, his effort and his goals. He'd make a difference on the Earth, though maybe not right away.. His time would come.

Now it was time for Athren to take on his third and final stage of this wonderful attack.
It wouldn't be overly difficult but it would be slightly more time consuming than both the other stages. At this point in time he wouldn't have to worry about focusing it to a specific part of his body, this time he'd have to worry about detonating an explosion on contact with a target of his choosing. He wanted the option of doing it. He didn't want it manditory with every single time he followed through with the technique. He only wanted the explosion for situation's where it was required. Sure, this might take a little bit of work but he was positive he'd get it within a few hours.
With both his feet firmly on the ground Athren took a nice deep breathe. He exhaled slowly and closed his eyes for a moment. With all going dark he then began to visualizing himself doing the technique he wanted to do. With himself visualizing the win, he felt it was in arms reach. It was something possible, and something that wasn't too far away. Now all he had to do was set his mind to it and do it. Slowly his feet began to lift off the ground, he raised himself up into the sky and looked down towards the ground. He clenched his right fist tightly and began to focus his ki into it. Sooner than later his fist was surrounding by the orange glow of his Ki.
Not before long the young saiyan warrior had decided to make his first attempt on making this technique a reality. He darted towards the ground swiftly. His speed incredible. The wind rushing against his face and blowing his hair back. His right fist cocked back and ready. His determination strong and bright. His will, unbreakable. He was going to do this.
Reaching the ground Athren launched his right fist forward and into it. Upon impact he had made a small creator and kicked up plenty of dust but nothing more. He had failed to set off an explosion like he had wanted too. Though, this was expected. Baby steps was his plan. He believed in walking before running.
Flying back up into the air Athren rinsed and repeated this tactic, he continued to barrage the ground with his ki infused fist until he had finally accomplished his goal. When he did complete his goal the impact of his fist had set off a large, orange explosive wave that devestated the area around him. Yet it had completely left him unharmed. It was the perfect close range attack that was really ment to shake up an enemy. Not only would it be painful, but it'd be intimitating.
After his first success, Athren continued to practice it for a couple more hours. He didn't want anything getting in the way and he wanted to make sure he could control the detonation at will. The last thing he wanted was failure due to his own lack of dedication. Though, he'd insure that wouldn't happen. Now all he needed was a fight, then he could really try it out.
