Aspa let Kyuri work while he meditated. He appreciated the anesthesia but he didn’t need it. He was calm and collected through the surgery. Once it was over, Aspa sat up, and looked at his new leg. It was completely ugly to his eyes. It was a reminder of his own carelessness that could have resulted in his team’s deaths. He needed to be more careful from now on.
Aspa concentrated his Ki, and slowly flowed it through his new leg. It felt different from the other model this one has toes, the other one was a simple model, with a single joint for a single toe. Aspa, manipulated one of the toes slowly. ‘It feels weird,’ he thought while he tried to move more toes but couldn’t. It seemed like rehabilitation would take longer this time around.

Tomoroko took in a deep breath before nodding gently. She would pull her head back enough to be able to look up into the man's dark eyes. There were so many things she wanted to say and clean up... but the first and foremost thing she could think of was...
"That's for your little freak out back in the palace with Icarus..." She stated as she removed one arm from around him to punch him in the chest, just enough that he would be able to feel the pressure of her action behind his bulky armor. She then took one of his hands before moving around to sit on the bed so that she was more comfortable as she talked to him.
"I am scared because of this war... I won't lie about it... but it's not because I'm afraid to fight for my people... I'm scared... because... well I don't want to hold you back... I don't want to get in anyone's way... you, and the Queen... you both have the ability to turn into super saiyans... your power is absolutely terrifying in that state and... I don't know I feel like I'll only make myself a target. I've trained so hard... I pushed myself as much as I possibly could but I don't think I'm ready for this... I mean what if they are just as strong as you? What if those people you were talking about that went to Earth decide to fight for them?" She began to ramble, trying to put as much of her worries and fears out into the open. She knew she had grown quite a lot... but she also felt that she could do so much more if she only had the time to do so...
-----------------
"It would feel weird. Your model was very different than this one." Kyuri stated as she watched him move his big toes slightly. She smirked faintly before pulling what looked like a metal pen from her pocket. She brought it over to the underneath of his toes and pricked each one individually. Every time she did so, a small electric pulse was sent from the pen to the toe, kick starting the gears and neural receptors to act. To Aspa, this would actually feel more like she was running a feather underneath a biological toe.
"How about now?" She teased him, the same smirk playing her lips as she put the pen away into her pocket before leaving his foot alone, and moving instead towards Aspa's head. She waited to see his reaction to her tickling of his foot before speaking once more.
"Let's try sitting up now, I want you to bend that knee."

To his surprise, Tomoroko punched him right on the chest, making the young saiyan warrior arch both of his eyebrows and widen his eyes. He didn’t understand why she did that, until she said that it was due to his rage back at Icaru’s laboratory. He gulped and the sighed. It was a very intense and frustrating day, and he almost killed the last memento of the tuffles civilization. A very big part of him was sorry he didn’t manage to destroy that vile thing before the arrival of the queen, but at the same time he was ashamed that he attacked a member of the Saiyan Solar Empire with the intention of killing. Natto didn’t like murdering people, but he couldn’t take it! Their primordial enemy, the one race he hated the most was one of the most trusted advisors of the queen, and he couldn’t help himself but to think that he was behind many – if not all – of the saiyan’s reckless and almost suicidal behavior, like waging an all-out war against the whole universe.
– Yeah… That… - he mentioned, gazing away from her a little bit. He wasn’t sorry, but at the same time he wasn’t actually proud of himself. Somehow Icarus didn’t seem to be that much of a villain, nor capable of such plotting, but those thoughts made him feel unease, because he could either be overreacting by the fact that he was a tuffle, or was a tuffle, he couldn’t say for sure, since he was a machine, or Icarus could be an evil mastermind, capable of manipulating to such a degree, which wasn’t completely impossible, since he was millennium old. Still, he wasn’t sure about anything at that point, at that bothering so much that Natto would always choose to avoid thinking about that. Miso’s words also had an impact on his feelings towards the tuffle-android, since he was the most probable person to have a lead on who killed his parents platoon, and that was an information he really wanted to know.
Luckily, Tomoroko changed the subject to answer Natto’s previous question. She said she was scared about that war, and he nodded, staring back at her, as he felt the same way. She said that she didn’t want to hold him back, or the queen, since they could become super saiyans, having a terrifying power, and that with her current power level she would be only an easy target. Tomoroko also pointed out about the power of their future enemies and that made sense. Natto had been thinking about that and he knew for sure that both Reikiko and Virtual Poi – was the android alive – would stand in their way, and they were at least on Natto’s league, and Natto was the strongest member of the Saiyan Solar Empire. And they could have other incredible fighters.
– I understand your fears… I’m would not choose to go to war now. I think we are not ready to take over the universe yet… We can be the strongest race on the universe and we most definitely can take out any race we face, if they are alone… But… Challenging the whole universe puts us into a very disadvantaging situation! – he said, sighing deeply. – And as far as I know… They have at least two warriors than are at least on my league… But I have reasons to believe they are above my current power… Still! You are FAR from a target! – he said, touching both of her shoulders and approaching his head from her. He had this serious look on his face, and a fiery determination burned inside his eyes. – You have to stop being so hard on yourself! Have you failed to realize what you accomplished? As far as the records go… You are the strongest non-super saiyan on the whole Army! This is how far you’ve come! And you are just so close to be able to tap into the legendary transformation that I can almost taste it! – he told her, looking straight into her eyes.
– And you can control your Great Ape transformation! With the power Aspa has now, you will be able to transform and that’s pretty close to the power of a super saiyan that has yet to hold mastery over his form! – he finished his speech, waiting for her reaction to his words. Word Count: 733

Coughing lightly, Aspa would hide his laugh from Kyuri. He liked how she made him feel, blushing slightly he wondered if she would return his affections for him. Looking at her, he decided to at least give it a shot it couldn’t be as bad as it was last time…. Right?
“Kyuri, I like you a lot….”
He just couldn't use that word. Biting his lower lip he would look at Kyuri’s reaction to him admitting that he may have feelings for her. He hoped that she would not simply laugh in his face or run away. He wondered of what she would do.
Sitting up, he would bend the knee slowly. It was easier than trying to bend the multiple toes, which he could now. Aspa wondered if he’d be able to fight using this leg.

"I don't think we should be taking over the universe at all... I mean what is it all for? We can prove our strength without being cruel... I enjoy the challenge of a fight, I love fighting as a whole but why should a whole planet have to suffer, simply so that I can fight a few? I don't know... I probably sound like an idiot... I'll do what I have too, I won't go against the Queen or our people but I... just can't help but feel like it's just not right..." Tomoroko said lowly, pausing when Natto drew closer, his face just inches from her own as he complimented her on her new found strength. She couldn't help but smile, even though that was the last thing she wanted to do. She loved his praised, loved hearing that she had been able to amount to so much and be considered such a powerful warrior in the SSE and to Natto. However, there were still many out there stronger than her... stronger than Natto, and she had to keep fighting until she could at least fight by Natto's side. She didn't have to be the strongest, she just didn't want to be a liability.
She took a deep breath before leaning her forehead against his own, closing her eyes for a moment as she collected her thoughts on the matter.
"I know... I've tried to grow so much just so that I didn't get in your way, so that I wouldn't be your weakness. I don't like turning into our ape form but, you're right that with Aspa's power at least I'll be able to stand a much better chance than I do in this form. I just really hope it's enough to keep us all alive in this invasion." She said as she finally pulled away to sit down on the bed for a moment, taking time to reflect on the truth of her great ape form. She hadn't transformed since the night Natto helped her control her rage, and that felt like it had been so long ago... her power had nearly tripled by then, no doubt her Oozaru form would have as well... placing her power level quite high.
"You're right... I... no you are right, if my power in this form has grown so much, then i'm sure my Oozaru form will be quite fierce. I know it'll be enough to fight by your side!" It had taken a moment for her to calm down and truly come to realize this, but just as the determination hit her once more, she pushed herself back up to her feet as if ready to take on planet earth then and there.
---------------------
"I like you too kiddo. I can see why Tomoroko looks at you like a brother. You're a strong young man and no doubt you'll only keep getting stronger, unlike this old crone. I guess that sort of makes you and the entire Natto force like my own kids seeing as you're so young." Kyuri stated as she patted her hand down on Aspa's metal leg with a clang. Gears and fans began to whir to life as she did so, causing the older saiyan woman to smirk and laugh at the proper activation of the leg. She would watch as he bent the knee, continuing to move his toes before offering to help him up to his feet, so that he could use her as a crutch until he got the hang of walking on such a different prosthetic.

Tomo’s sentence made a huge impact on Natto, who got startled and gulped. She said that she didn’t think they should go to war at all, and, deep inside his heart he totally agreed with her. It still amazed him how their thoughts were align; she didn’t like that needless cruelty most saiyans delighted themselves with, while still enjoying the thrill of a fight. The queen was wrong, but it wasn’t their place to question her. The Saiyan Solar Empire was heading towards war and, agreeing with its ideals or not, they were elite soldiers of the empire, and to turn their backs on it now would be a terrible betrayal that Natto was not ready for; the shadow of his father still lingered upon the young saiyan captain, and he felt this obligation to honor his memory, since he was the first person to be kind and caring towards him.
After that, they leaned against each other forehead and a warm fuzzy feeling took over his chest. It felt really nice to be near Tomoroko and he couldn’t even picture himself away from her anymore. The young saiyan girl commented on the fact that she didn’t like to turn into a Great Ape, but she recognized the amazing power the monstrous transformation held. At least she could control herself now, so it wouldn’t be a problem, nor would she need to rely on the pack mentality the Great Ape had when surrounded by its peers. Tomoroko would be in full control and ten times stronger than her normal self; as much as they didn’t like it due to the facts that happened on their past, it was an ace up the sleeves for the saiyans who didn’t tap into the legendary super saiyan power.
The power gap between the Great Ape and the Super Saiyan that was still to hold mastery over his transformation wasn’t huge, but the legendary golden warrior had many other trails that made it far superior to the monstrous form. It was a shame that Tomoroko and Aspa weren’t ready for that. Their growth had been amazing truth be told, and Natto knew they did their very best to achieve such an amazing power, putting them so close to the required level. ”But the Great Ape should be enough!” he tried to calm himself, making his own mind believe that it would be enough to ensure victory… But it was too far from reality for him to be able to buy it.
– Of course, it will be! We are talking of the fiercest fighter on our squad! – he chuckled as he spoke. – I remember when you got angry! You became a killing machine! I feel sorry for our enemies if they have to face that side of yours! – he said in a highly spirited tone, as his mind tried to trick him into believing that it would be somehow like the hard-light illusions he had been fighting for a while. Being stressed over the inevitable was useless. ”I just wanna enjoy this moment…” he said inside his mind. Word Count: 516

Aspa blushed slightly, when he felt the body of Kyuri helping him stand. Letting her be a crutch he would secretly enjoy being like this with her. Walking forward slowly, Aspa already was getting a hang of this prosthetic but he knew he wouldn’t get full control over it in time before the war.
“I meant, I like you in more of a romantic sense, Kyuri.”
Blushing deeper, he would continue letting her help him like this. He wondered what her reaction would be to him admitting it. Aspa didn’t have any good memories of the last time he admitted he had feelings for someone. He hoped she may bring herself to see him in a more romantic light.
He however did not know what the feelings actually meant. That they meant he felt the love that a child showed their mother. Not the love in a romantic sense. He didn’t understand that they were different from each other, and that he felt like that because he felt that Tomo was his sister, so he felt love for her mother like he would his own mother.

Tomoroko couldn't help but blush as she smiled faintly at Natto's comment. It was strange to be considered the strongest after him... had she really managed to already pass Aspa? She hadn't had much of a chance to really test her strength against him since their last training session in the gravity chamber. Seh was sure he had grown just as much as she did, if not more. When Natto mentioned how angry she could get, and how her mind slipped into 'battle mode' during those times, she couldn't help but chuckle.
"Kami forbid that happens on Earth... That'll ruin all the fun of having a fair fight. Besides I don't think I'll willingly kill any of them... I'd rather just make them submit you know?" She stated, removing her forehead from his only to lean against him again. There had been so much more she wanted to talk to him about, so much more she wanted to know before they arrived on earth, however just being with him here made her forget all about what she wanted to talk about.
"I promise I'll do everything my can to make this a success... I'll work to protect all of us, and I promise to be by your side when you need me." She said softly, and she meant it. Even if Natto would be the one to face Earth's strongest warriors, she wanted to be right there with him. She wasn't sure what she could do, but like hell was she going to let him fight alone.
-------------
Kyuri didn't remove or even shift her grip on Aspa as she helped him walk, chuckling at his admonition of liking her as more than just a friend. She reached up with one hand and ruffled the young saiyans hair as he helped him take one easy step at a time until it started to become easier for him.
"I appreciate the sentiment Aspa, but first things first. Get to know this feisty old bird before you proclaim your love. I've got a bad track record with men. Besides, I can't exactly be the object of your affection if I"m old enough to be your mom." She stated calmly, escorting him out of the sterile environment now so that they could get him out of the gowns and back into some form of real clothing.

It made him feel really good about himself to be able to make Tomoroko chuckle even though they were about to reach the frontlines of one of the greatest war the universe had ever seen. The young saiyan girl even went as far as to joke, saying that it wouldn’t be a fair fight with the earthlings if she was to go into her battle mode, which Natto responding by chuckling back. Then she said that she wouldn’t want to willingly kill any of them, which made him widen his eyes and arch his brows a bit; that was a very difficult thing to do in such a war and, on top of that, Natto wanted to kill some of them: Virtual Poi and maybe Reikiko, depending on what she had done to Kaula’s mind and loyalty towards the saiyan race. If the homunculi had managed to turn Kaula into a protector of Earth, then she would have proved that Natto was right! She would be, indeed, an enemy to the saiyans, plotting their doom since the first time she landed foot on Vegeta, and that could not be forgiven.
The reason it could not be forgiven wasn’t related to the Saiyan Solar Empire itself, since Natto himself wasn’t really sure it was fighting for the right cause now, but for the betrayal against the saiyan race. Even if Natto was to leave the Empire, he would never turn his back on his race. That was his main vow to his father and he would live up to it. With that in mind, the young saiyan captain nodded his head twice, showing that he understood what she said and leaving it open to whether he agreed with that or not.
Her promise, however, made him feel a sting on his heart and he sighed a little bit, with concern taking over his face for a brief moment. He didn’t want Tomoroko to throw herself into certain death situations and there would be plenty of those, and he couldn’t hold it anymore. – The one thing I want you to promise me is to be safe! I don’t want you to try and faced opponents that you cannot even dream of defeating! Leave that part to me, okay? – he said, pausing for a little bit as he distanced himself from her enough to stare her right in the eyes.
– I want you to promise me that, no matter what is going on… When I tell you to fall back, you will! If I tell you all to retreat and leave me to die, I want you to comply! I will do my very best to avoid it, but I would rather lose my life than lose any of you! Especially you! – he said, holding both of her cheeks on his hands with a fiery determination on his eyes. – I love you! And I don’t want you to die a meaningless death! I promise I won’t go down easily and, if I do, I will go down kicking! Like a warrior! But… - he sighed again, taking a few steps away from her and heading towards a small circular window near his bed, gazing away from her and staring at the darkness of space.
– But you have to understand… The price of freedom is steep… And if that price is my life, I don’t care about paying the price! But you all… You all must survive! If the worse happens, you will be my living legacy! You are my loved ones and I’m sure I will be able to keep on living through you all! – He said, looking back at Tomoroko with a subtle smile on his face. – But don’t worry! I don’t want to die! And I will fight for our lives… My life… Our race’s life! – he said in an honest tone, not mentioning anything about the Saiyan Empire this time. Word Count: 657

Feeling somewhat relieved that she didn’t run away, and kept helping him he listened to her words to him. She said she was old, but to him she looked as youthful as he was. She was incredibly beautiful to him. However, he did not know is that his love for her was like that of the love of a child towards their mother. Not realizing that, her beauty was attributed due to her motherly side.
Nodding slightly, Aspa sighed it seemed like he would always fail in the romance department no matter what he did. Feeling slightly depressed that she rejected his feelings for her at that moment in time and explained why she couldn’t return his feelings. He understood, but it didn’t help him in the slightest due to her being the object of his love.
“I understand, Kyuri. I however, see you as a youth-filled saiyan. You’re extremely beautiful, smart, and I can see Tomo got a lot of herself from you.”
Continuing to walk forward, Aspa slowly got use to the leg and how it felt compared to the older one.
“I have a question about the leg. Will it expand when I go Oozaru?”
He was quite serious about this question. The Oozaru form was his trump card, if he couldn’t use the form than he would be fighting as a cripple in that form, and would likely destroy the hub that she installed onto his leg.

"Natto I... if it comes down to having to retreat... I'll back away from the fight but I refuse to leave you alone... that's not fair. I don't want to go on if something happens to you. I'll make sure to not be a target... but I won't leave you." She said as determination crossed her face once more. She understood how he felt, since she would feel the same way if he was defeated. It was a hard situation to be in and she hoped that it didn't come to that. She still had time to train, maybe she could achieve a great deal of extra power during her training session int he gravity chamber on their way there. If she could attain the form of the legendary super saiyan like he could, then she knew he wouldn't have to worry about her as much. She'd have more than enough power to stand up to some of Earth strongest no doubt.
She stood back up, walking over to Natto as he had shifted away to the window and took his hand in hers again, a small smile creeping up on her features.
"Enough talk about dying though. It won't come to that. If you were trusted to guard the planet when our strongest left it vulnerable, than I believe you have more than enough power to continue protecting us off our home planet. You have to have faith in me too,I've been working extremely hard to become stronger and I promise I won't disappoint anyone. Now come on, we have some time before you have to go off and keep training right?" She asked him as she slowly led him back towards bed. Both of them could use the time together, and if they really were faced with a life or death situation... well...
-----------------------------
Kyuri lifted her hand off of Aspa's shoulder for a brief moment as she brought it up to his head, ruffling the saiyan's hair before clapping him on the back, a large smile still spread across her face.
"Well thanks kid. It's nice to know I haven't lost all of my charm! hahaha but really, you'll end up finding someone closer to your own age one day, and i'm sure she'll be a hundred times prettier than I am. Maybe not as fierce, but pretty." She teased him, soon letting go of him as she stood and watched his progress on the leg. He was doing well and adjusting rather quickly to the way the leg functioned.
"That's very impressive Aspa, you're getting the hang of it really fast. Oh, and yes the leg will expand when you transform, but it won't be as durable in that state as it is now. It can take some punishment, just try not to kick down a sky scraper with it alright?" She smiled as the two would continue to work on Aspa's recovery.

He should have known by now that Tomoroko wasn’t going to leave him behind if the worst happened and that made him sigh. Part of him was glad to hear that she valued him so much as to stand by his side even on the time of death, but the other part of him was feeling deepluy anguished that she would choose such a path; it would mean certain death for her too, unless the enemy was merciful, and Natto didn’t think the earthlings were like that. If they truly were the spiritual successors of the Tuffles, like Zucceta told him on the day he attempted to destroy Icarus, they were cruel and back-stabbing and couldn’t be trusted at all. On top of that, the earthlings that Natto had met before were too different to be compared and he couldn’t trace a common trait for the race, therefore they were still a big mystery to him.
Anyway, the young saiyan girl seemed pretty adamant on her position of not leaving him and there was no point in arguing further on that matter. Tomoroko took his hand and that made him stare back at her, seeing her smiling, which gave him some comfort. She said that they had enough with that death talk and he nodded, agreeing with her. When she mentioned that he should be strong enough to protect them, he stopped breathing for a second, but did his best not to show that her comment made him feel anxious; it was a heavy burden and a huge responsibility that he had on his shoulders, but he would just have to do his very best. ”I wish I can fulfill everyone’s expectations…” he thought to himself.
Following that, she told him to have faith in her and he nodded again; Natto had faith in all of them, but he couldn’t help but fear for their safety, but he would have to let it go. Overthinking about it wouldn’t change a thing! Then, she pushed him towards bed, making him arch one of his eyebrows, as his guts told him that something really interesting was about to happen, as she mentioned that they had some time before start training again. He chuckled a bit, as he kneeled in bed. – You bet we have! And let’s make the most out of it! – with that comment, Natto threw his battle suit on the floor leaving him bare chested, since he only wore the jumpsuit to cover his legs.
– I have to say that I love this look on your face… - he said, as he chuckled with a rather mischievous smile, approaching her to passionately kiss her. His instinct guided him from this point onward. He would enjoy his time with her, discovering this new degree of intimacy that he had never tasted before. Word Count: 474

Listening to her words, Aspa would sigh. Another miss, his heart sank in his chest. He really liked Hana, and he really liked Kyuri. But viewing their personalities, it would point towards them breaking up within a month. He felt that he loved the both of them, but he could feel his love for the both of them was different somehow. Aspa couldn’t place his finger on it, but his love for Hana felt similar to his love towards Tomo.
He did not know why he felt that way, but it felt right. It felt similar to his love towards Tomo, but it wasn’t as protective of her. He didn’t know why, he knew he would protect both of them equally, but the love felt different to him. Looking down, it seemed like Aspa would never find the one person that he could love with all of his heart and soul. The one person that he could cherish for the rest of his life. The one person that would make him feel like she were a goddess, and would treat her as such.
Listening to the rest of Kyuri’s words, Aspa would chuckle slightly. He wouldn’t be kicking anything with the leg. He still prefered to use long ranged tactics against opponents. He didn’t like attacking people in melee combat, and it showed in his fighting style. However, Aspa knew he had to try and balance himself out and start fighting in melee combat. Maybe Tomo and Natto could help in that regard.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be kicking anything with the leg. I prefer long ranged combat.”
Blinking, something felt off. He suddenly couldn’t sense two people in Natto’s room. It was like both of their stars were joined together. Blushing deeply, Aspa could sense them together. Forcing the connection down, Aspa would gag slightly.

"You're giving me the impression you've been waiting for this?" She asked with a light chuckle as she watched the man strip free from his armor, letting it fall aside as he clamored into bed, making a quick comment about her smirk, causing her to raise an eyebrow mischievously.
"Smirk? What smirk?" The girl asked innocently before being pulled onto the bed and into a long embrace. She couldn't help but smile and chuckled as she kissed him crawling over him as both of their instincts began to take over. She didn't care about being sore from her training, didn't care if anyone sensed them, or came to find out about what they were doing. This moment belonged to them, and that's all that she wanted to think about.
--------------------------------------
"Good. As long as you are mindful of the leg, it'll do exactly what you want it too." Kyuri stated as she began to guide him out towards the main hall of the ship. This way, Aspa would be able to get some basic walking practice in with his leg, and then maybe even train some with it before they reached earth so he could have it fully mastered. When she heard him gag though, she raised an eyebrow and looked back at the man. Maybe the anesthetic was wearing off and he was just trying to cope with the pain.
