Tomoroko's past history
The planet that Tomo’s team had landed on was classified as CC 83113, a planet so torn by war, that any outside influence would tip the scales of battle dramatically. The war taking place was between one species that presented much technological superiority while another presented a strange force of magical superiority. Apparently both sides had been fighting for over a year, and the saiyans had been hired by the technological race, the Kadrons, to destroy the magical beings of their planet, the Astarians.
It took her team about 6 months to reach the far away planet once they had taken off from planet Vegeta. They had decided to stay within their pods for as long as they could, stopping only whenever it was absolutely necessary to eat and refuel. Many of the planets that they had landed on were already taken over by the saiyan’s, and sold once more. This made things easy for the team, as they encountered little resistance from the new planets owners. The only time that they were ever presented with a hard time, was when they had to land on an unknown planet. They would run into pockets of resistance… creatures that recognized the saiyans for who they were and attempted to protect their planet at all costs. This served only to annoy Okono who was always the first of them to destroy the immediate area they landed in, all so that they could simply eat their fill, and leave once again.
When the six months passed, CC 83113 finally came into view, Tomo’s ship warning her that they were now entering the planets atmosphere and to brace herself for the landing. Tomoroko did just that, yawning widely as she uncrossed her arms, peering out of the viewport to catch a glimpse of the war going on before her ship, along with the 3 others crash landed into the dirt, leaving four large craters in their wake. One by one the pods opened, and the 4 saiyan warriors emerged. Each of them immediately levitated above their pods, looking at one another quickly as if making a head-count, then turning to look at the world around them. Normally when they landed anywhere, they were the one to cause such devastation, but this world already seemed to be on the brink of destroying itself…
“They need a mid-class team for something like this? Look like this war’s wrapping up nicely on it’s own”
Okono stated as she placed her hands on her hips, looking around as silence swept across the area in which they had landed.
“I wouldn’t be so sure. By the feel of things here, one sides going to be totally wiped out before this war ends. You seem to be in a bad mood Okono, maybe we should just let you transform and take your feminine rage out on the Astarians”
Haku teased his companion, a large devious grin grossing his handsome features. However, the eldest female saiyan simply glared at him as if her stare alone would have enough power to kill him.
“That’s enough you two. We have a job to do. You all know what our targets look like. It shouldn’t be too difficult to wipe out a race with no physical strength, but, be wary anyways, who knows what their magic can do. Keep your scouters on, and call for backup if you get into a tight spot. Tomoroko, you will go with Haku for this mission, that mean’s Okono you’re with me. The last thing we need is the two of you screwing up another job because of your bickering.”
Komatsu stated coldly as he looked between each member of his team. For long moments, his eyes rested on Tomo, shifting only once the youngest of their group nodded in understanding of his orders.
Tomoroko flew over next to Haku, flashing him a grin before smacking his shoulder and taking off with a sudden burst of speed towards one of the current battles. Their scouters were easily picking up many power signals, however most of those signals were half their strength and were absolutely nothing to worry about.
“Haku… why do you think they’ve classified this mid-class… I mean… these power levels are easily associated to a low class planet… it doesn’t make sense.”
Tomo muttered once her companion caught up to her. She crossed her arms as she flew, pondering just what was going on with this world.
Haku simply shrugged off her worry, waving it off before he spoke up.
“Who knows what they were thinking… but who cares. We finish this job and we’ll look like total bad-asses. I bet it wont take us long at all to catch up to the elites at our rate, especially with how Komatsu kicks the shit out of you after every mission. Soon enough you’ll be stronger than all of us squirt.”
Suddenly, Haku stopped flying, causing Tomo to hit the brakes too, looking back towards the older saiyan curiously. Why had he stopped?
Instantly, her scouter flashed a warning, arrows and power levels popping up in all directions around the pair. Tomo brought up her guard, shifting her stance to a more battle ready pose as a dozen Astarians appeared around them. They were Copper skinned aliens with as many small antennae as Saiyans had hair. They had bulging black orbs for eyes, and if you looked too long, you could almost see starts and tiny galaxies within them. They definitely weren’t the prettiest site.”
“Sllllt… Kree ka ne! … ka ne!”
One of them cried out, one hand raised towards the pair, while the other held onto what looked like a stone tablet. Tomo had no idea what they were saying, but hearing Haku’s laugh at the aliens seemed to calm her nerves. He hadn’t said it, but his meaning was right… she was too on edge about this mission. Taking these losers down would be a cinch. She raised her hand, pointing her index finger at the alien that had spoken to them.
A small red orb appeared there, causing the alien to hesitate and take a step back while saying something else in his native language. Soon, that small orb grew to the size of a small ball before being launched towards the alien. The beam crashed through the aliens stone tablet just as it released a wave of fire towards the pair of saiyans.
They both launched themselves up in the air, avoiding the scorching flames before both of them began to take down the aliens that had ambushed them. One by one, Tomo and Haku would take them down while countering some very strange techniques. Techniques that they weren’t always successful in dodging. On more than one occasion, Haku had to pull Tomo out of what looked like a cage of fire, and Tomo had to pull out large metal spears that materialized out of no-where from Haku’s body. It was strange… the aliens power levels were so weak, however with each technique they threw at them, they would notice that the technique far surpassed the users power.
They didn’t get to think on it very much as Haku pulled out another spear that had imbedded itself into his leg and thrust it through the final aliens head, watching it plummet to the ground with a large clank as body and metal hit the earth. Panting, he then looked over to Tomo while suddenly quickly losing altitude.
She flew over to his side, wrapping one arm around his waist to support him while he put his other massive arm around her neck. The small girl almost disappeared under the large saiyan’s bulk.
“Are you alright Haku..? Maybe we should head back to the pods and let you…”
Her sentence was cut short as Haku turned his head from the younger saiyan, spitting at the ground below them.
“We’re not stopping. As long as I stay in the air I don’t need this leg anyways… Shit… I bet Okono will never let me live it down… come on… their head counts probably already double ours.”
He tried to sound like his usual confident self so that he didn’t worry the younger girl, but he found that it was getting harder and harder with every movement. He could feel that those spears had some sort of poison on them, but his body seemed to be keeping it at bay for the moment.
The two flew quite some ways across the planet again before they encountered any more signs of fighting. They had flown low into the only city that the pair had come across. Tomo landed while Haku stayed hovering next to her, blood dripping down his exposed leg onto the already green bloodstained streets.
“Seems like the one’s we’re after… are just over that ridge there… can you see them? Tomo you should be strong enough to take them out… there’s a squad approaching our flank… I don’t know how they know we’re here to fight them but… I’ll stay here and take the flank squad out… got it?”
Haku said lowly, his eyes shifting from one squad to another, never once looking at Tomo. He knew that for him, this was already proving to be a suicide mission, but for her, no doubt that this would be easy.
“Alright Haku. I wont be long and I’ll come back and fight with you”
Tomo knew there was something wrong with him, but she also knew better than to disobey him when he got like this. She took to the air once more and flew at top speed towards the squad hidden just ahead of them. Well, hidden was a poor term as the squad of Astarians were firing techniques like they fired energy towards the Kadron army.
‘This is perfect! I can use the fight as cover… maybe they didn’t even know we were here…’
Tomo thought to herself as she raced forward, energy flowing through every muscle of her body as she brought her energy forward, concentrating it into her right fist which began to glow a red color. She flew straight up the side of the building now seperatins her and the Astarians, flying high above it and using the planets sun as her cover as she came crashing down onto a pair of Astrians who seemed to be the snipers of the group. Her fist connected with one of the snipers, causing a large explosion to erupt between them. Focusing her energy once more, she focused it into her left leg, swinging around and kicking the second sniper so hard in the face, the resulting explosion left his skull exposed to the air.
She never enjoyed straight out killing those weaker than her… but in this case, she had to… she had to kill them and she had to be fast… Haku needed her, and she wouldn’t let anything happen to her family. With a cry of strength, she then extended her hands and pelted the field around her with one red energy bolt after another. The smoke rose around her as fire’s erupted under the explosions, the Astarians cries barely audible over the sound of the destruction. Finally, Tomo stopped, panting lightly at the sudden exertion of energy, shifting herself into a fighting stance as she prepared for any survivors to attack her. However, instead of oncoming enemy fire, she was greeted by the cheers of the Kadron army. She took one last glance around the battle field, now clearing from the smoke she had created. She could make out the bodies of the dead aliens, and none of them moved. Perfect.
“I’m coming Haku…”
Tomo muttered before bracing herself to jump into the air once more. However, before Tomo got too far off the ground, the ground beneath her cracked and parted, a hand shooting straight up and grabbing onto her ankle, preventing her from taking off. She then heard a muffled cry from the alien holding her as fire erupted from the hand, burning the flesh of her leg and rising up to burn her entire body. Tomo let out a shriek of pain as the fire licked her flesh, however she was quick to aim her pointed finger downwards and fire her rain gun technique into the ground.
The hand holding her suddenly went limp, letting her go as the now burnt saiyan was able to fly away from her battle.
By the time Tomo arrived at the scene of the battle between Haku and the Astarians that had planned to ambush them, she could find neither party. For a moment, her heart sank as she tried to find him, scouring the nearby city vigilantly. However, it wasn’t until she heard Natto’s cry of pain was she ever able to find him. She quickly bolted it towards the cry, quickly finding Haku pinned to the ground, his tail clutched tightly between the Astrians hands. Haku looked worse for wear, but still capable of fighting… his skin was blacked by what looked like energy and lightning striked, his body now sporting another few good holes in him.
“Let go of him!”
Tomo yelled as she flew towards the Astarian, her fist raised as she focused her energy into her strike once more. The alien simply looked back at her, then back down to Haku. Without hesitation, he raised his free hand, pointing his open palm towards Haku and cried out his incantation. Lightning danced around his hand for a few short seconds before a bolt of lightning was released from it, striking down directly into Haku’s heart.
“No!”
Tomo screamed at the alien as she finally reached him, slamming her fist into the side of his face, the explosion blowing both of them away from the now silent Haku. Rage built up in the young saiyan as she caught her balance, flying directly towards the Astarian that dared to hurt Haku. Even though the alien was already barely able to move, she struck him again, and again, and again until her very punches were enough to draw blood from the now dead alien. She cried out in rage as she struck him, tears building up in her eyes as she finally brought her foot down on the aliens face. She quickly ran over to Haku, dropping to her hands and knees beside him and turning him so that he was lying on his back.
“Haku! Haku!!”
She cried down to her friend as she watched what little light there was left in Haku’s eyes slowly fade away. The male moved his lips slightly as if he wanted to say something, but the combination of the finishing strike and the deadly poison finally took it’s tole, and the saiyan fell limp in Tomo’s arms. Tomo screamed loudly as she hugged Haku closely to her body, gripping him and screaming as if the sole action would bring him back to life. However, it didn’t.
She closed his eyes and lay him gently back on the ground, wiping her own tears before she pushed herself back up to her feet.
“I’ll kill you ALL”
She screamed out in anger as she took to the skies once more. She would hunt down one squad after another, obliterating them with everything she had. Of course she took damage, being in such a blind rage she wasn’t the best at protecting herself from the oncoming strikes. However, she couldn’t feel them… not right away at least. Her rage had over come any other sense in her body, and as it was, Tomoroko would not stop until she deemed that all of her enemies were dead.
By the time Tomo's rage began to settle, it seemed as if half the planet lie as a deserted waste. It didn't matter if she was faced with Astarians or Kadron's, both species would die at her hands. She finally came to a slow stop as she approached the center of a city she had just torn through. There, on a pyke in the middle of the street was Okono's body, the pyke piercing straight through her chest as it reached for the sky. The older saiyan woman's face still bore a fierce look when Tomo walked up to the bloodied pyke. The girl almost choked on her tears once more as she focused her energy into a fierce punch, breaking the pyke in two and catching it before Okono hit the ground. Carefully, she pulled her friend off of the pyke, tossing it aside as she lay the girl down on the ground. She quickly knelt down next to her, gingerly placing her forehead against her's and muttered a few words before closing her friends eyes.
The rage started to build back up again, but before she could act out, she felt a heavy hand place itself on her shoulder. Instinctively, she rolled away from the hand after swatting it away, leaping to her feet and preparing herself for a fight, but what she saw made her drop her guard very quickly. It was komatsu, the eldest of her team and their leader. Tears started to fall from her eyes once more as she threw aside all pride and ran towards her elder, hugging the bloodied saiyan tightly.
"Koma...th...they're both... Okono and Haku..."
Tomoro tried to sputter out, a wave of relief washing over her as the elder put his hand on her shoulder once more.
"I know... it must be horrible... unlike you saiyans, we have a sense of mercy...and pity... it'll be easier for you to forget..."
Komatsu spoke, although his voice sounded alien to her. Dread washed over her as she attempted to push away from the elder saiyan once more, but found him holding onto her tightly.
"Who are you... "
She began just as one of Komatsu's hand found it's way to her face, placing his index and middle finger against her forehead. A bright white light erupted between the poor, and an agonizing cry escaped the young saiyan's lips. For a moment, she could see the figure in front of her for what it was, another technique cast by the Astarians. Komatsu's eyes showed that he was dead, but the fact that he was speaking meant that his body had been possessed. She retaliated against whatever the Astarian was doing to her by managing to bring a fist forward to Komatsu's chest. The man stumbled backwards, breaking his connection with Tomo.
"Stay away from me..."
Tomo said in a panic as she took to the skies quickly. She had to get off of this planet... she was the only survivor from her team... she had to warn any other teams that would later take this job... she had to get home to... where was home? A white fog began to cloud her mind, as memory after memory began fading away from her.
By the time she got back to her pod, all Tomo could remember was the death of her family.... Haku, Okono and Komatsu. As she slipped into her pod, the door closing and blocking her view of the planet, she quickly grabbed the oxygen mask and hooked herself up as best she could to the life support systems. It wasn't until the ship broke through the planets atmosphere did all of the pain and fatigue truly set in, causing tomoroko to slip into unconsciousness...
